Capital approached Ronin, a sleeping Cleffa in their arms. "Perhaps this is a callous question, but is there a reason to your, hm, disdain for Dragon types?" They shrugged, trying to convey their non-judgemental nature. "It is not like I can judge. I have my own biases, too."

To have two people pick up on your disdain of dragon types was something that Ronin should have expected. Even with his attempts of masking his reaction, he couldn't quite shake away his contempt for the type. He sighed and ran his hand along his neck as he focused his attempt to Alicia and Capital. "It's dragon types as a whole that I have a issue with. However, I'm trying to work on that. Lewis told me....that...I should do that espesically since....."

As his voice trailed off, a aura momentarily twisted behind him and formed into draconic figure with its jaw slightly agape. A low chuckle escaped the draconic aura as Ronin shook himself as the draconic aura faded away.

".....I'm stuck with certain individuals. Regardless, the reasoning that I don't like dragon types? I had bad experience with dragons. The Gible line gives me stronger reaction, but it's only when I'm around the Gabite...well Garchomp that gave me these." He lifted his head up slightly to reveal the scars on his neck. "I lost a battle to that guy. Losing to him caused me to snap and I did things that made me lose my old life in my clan. However, it wasn't really just that. My worse moments seemed to always be related to dragon types....and the fact that my tera typing is that of dragon type doesn't exactly make me feel good espesically when I'm stuck with the typing."

"Patience, eh? Hm. Really glad that's one of my best traits," Apollo hummed. "I tend to have to practice plenty of that at my job. Partially one of the reasons why I ended up being assigned to watch over a close friend of mine." A pleasant smile formed on his lips before he tapped his chin. "But if that is essential to raising a kid...I will keep that mind. Maybe I'll tell my little starlight more stories since i know she's very fond of those."

Then his interest peaked at the mention of Ogerpon. He briefly glanced over his shoulder, seeing the eyes of his Greninja peeking over towards him with a raised brow. They only locked eyes momentarily before Apollo turned his gaze back to Wo. "You're raising a Ogerpon, huh? Funny enough, my friend over here happen to be raising one himself alongside my best friend." He made it a point to gesture over towards Ronin.

"Hm," Ronin only gave a silent nod to confirm Apollo's words.

"How long has it been since Ronin been with you two?" Apollo squinted.

".....Around 2-3 months I think?" Ronin closed his eyes.

( @ask-the-diamond-kingdom ) Apollo was in the middle of looking at his bag when he noticed Wo and Oki. He had to blink a few times to make sure he wasn't saying things. After a bit, he offer a friendly smile and approach the two. "Hello there! Haven't seen your faces around. You wouldn't so happen to know how to deal with a easily excitable kid? I know it's a weird question, but you two seem like you got some parental vibes." He rubbed his neck nervously.

Wo: "Greetings~ It's nice to see so many new faces here~"

Oki nodded, showing a cheery look.

Wo: "I find that, while handling excitable young ones, it is important to keep your patience, and to wait until the right time to show them how they could calm down. When I am called upon to babysit for families in Mesagoza, I tend to use quiet games and stories to help them to settle down. Sometimes technology does help, but I tend to avoid using it, as I find that it doesn't have as much success as a bedtime story would."

He put his vines together.

Wo: "We do have a family ourselves, and we cherish them quite a lot~ Ogerpon can be a bit boisterous as times, but her siblings do succeed in helping her to settle down."

Back on my bullshit. I'm trying to analyze a direction the ZA starters could go. Just a bunch of rambling

If we bring up the Legends Arceus comparison with Hisui and Sinnoh, there's actually 2 different themes here

Sinnoh's was a form of myths or legends- Torterra was something akin to one of the many world turtle myths, Infernape references Sun Wukong from Journey to the West (Blaziken and Emboar also are references to the story), and Empoleon is both the world known emperor Napoleon BUT also has Poseidon's trident on its head.

Sounds complicated- which is ironic considering how the complicated method of getting Hisui starters actually yields much simpler origins.

In short, Hisuian starter variants are basically unified by Japanese themes of warriors and such. Samurott is a rogue samurai and possibly a reference to the famed demonic Muramasa swords. Decidueye is a reference to wandering ronins and archers with a healthy mix of martial arts and some swords, and Typhlosion is possibly a reference to yokai, monks/priests that were said to banish demons, and "Infernal Parade"- it's signature move- is based on the Night Parade of 100 Demons. Putting it simply, they're all very Japan inspired, some say that they even reference different eras of Japan in order of oldest to newest by generation.

So all of that is to say that we have 2 themes for the same region, with Hisui leaning more towards unifying completely unrelated starters to the same land while Sinnoh diversifies starters from the same land to have different origins.

So, that aside- let's look at Kalos.

Kalos is france, but the starters themselves aren't really French so much as they represent RPG classes. In fact, that's probably the simplest way to describe this set- Chesnaught is a knight or paladin, Delphox is a witch or mage, and Greninja is a rogue or ninja.

So, how do we go about looking at ZA starters? Well, as of early June 2024, we don't really know what we have yet, let alone if we're going to get another Arceus treatment of unifying various region starters to a new place. There's a lot that could actually change, in fact, such as convergent starters, non traditional starters or starter, etc. But if we assume we'll get 3 starters again like usual, we can kind of work with it.

Kalos Starters are actually weaker to their Alolan counterparts- not only are the Alolan starters performer themed (archer, wrestling heel, singer), they actually have types STRONG or RESISTANT against their predecessor of the same type. Ghost isn't affected by fighting, and the Decidueye line also has flying types in prior forms that are strong against Chesnaught's entire line. Incineroar and Primarina are much simpler, with dark being resistant to and stronger to psychic type and fairy being strong to Dark.

So perhaps if we look at the above, maybe we can complete this sandwich of type effectiveness by making the ZA starters weaker to the normal Kalos Starters somehow.

For Chesnaught, a Grass/Fighting type, we have options of rock, steel, ice, dark, and normal types as potential secondary types. If we assume normal starters, that's a bunch of starter type combos we haven't seen yet. I personally might throw my hat at the Steel type, since grass/steel has only been done by the Ferrothorn line and Kartana.

For Delphox, we have Fire/Psychic. Psychic is effective to fighting and poison- not a lot, but enough to work with. We only have Salandit and Salazzle if we consider fire/poison, but as always we live in fear of the fire/fighting type.

Finally, Greninja is Water/Dark. Dark is effective to Psychic and Ghost- we have not had either of these types for water type starters. Ghost is currently a game freak favorite with both Hisuian Typhlosion and Skeledirge being Fire/Ghost back to back, and Decidueye is a Grass/Ghost, so they could always finish the triangle with a Water/Ghost type.

However, we should also take into account type synergy between the three. Kalos Starters actually have double resistances or strengths against each other, with Grass/Fighting both being good against Water/Dark, Water/Dark to Fire/Psychic, and Fire/Psychic to Grass/Fighting. The Hisuian starters mimic this, with Typhlosion instead just not being affected by Decidueye's fighting type.

Let's assume that they could try that again- we're not really left with too many options to make that work exactly like Kalos. If we assume they use new starter type combos not seen before like with the og kalos starters, we could see something like Water/Psychic, Fire/Poison, and Grass/Steel- but there's a problem with Synergy no matter what between the grass and water end. If we adjust to Water/Psychic, Fire/Fighting, and Grass/Steel, we kind of have some leeway if we approach it from the same angle of Hisui of resisting rather than being effective- however, we're cursed with a Fire fighter. It's about the same if we account for something like Grass/Normal, Fire/Fighting, and Water/Ghost.

For now, let's assume Grass/Steel, Fire/Fighting, and Water/Psychic. It's not ideal, bit it does give us more leeway if we try to make those into variants of past Pokemon.

The popular theory of Serperior, Cinderace, and Empoleon can work with this- Serperior objectively being a better typing than Unovan and could work with something akin to a rapier tail. Cinderace being fire/fighting works because that's basically what most thought it was going to be already. Empoleon could work as that if we apply the logic of Psychic=Smart or Strategic, which both Napoleons could potentially be based on, as emperors, would fit stereotypically.

I'd they're looking to "shock" us by not going with the obvious, they could potentially go for Totodile, Turtwig, and Litten, or Chikorita, Chimchar, and Inteleon, or really any number of combos. We're simply talking about type combos in this post.

So on that note, let's explore another option with CONVERGENT starters. We don't really have a set pattern yet, so while I think it's more likely we'd get regional variants, convergent species are still on the table since we now have them outside of Gen 1 Pokemon like Dugtrio and Tentacool with the teacups from Gen 8. Much like how Hisui brought us our first starters with regional variants, it's possible that they could continue this trend of new surprises in this format.

So if we look at the above theories of crafting these to be weaker than the Kalos starters, we could try going outside the norm here. While we could get something as simple as a fire type bulbasaur, water charmander, and Grass squirtle, we could have fun by using the types we listed as weaker to craft non standard starter type Pokemon.

A Psychic/Ghost type and Fighting/Poison could be easily crafted as weaker to Greninja and Delphox's secondary types, but to maintain synergy might be hard despite all the types Chesnaught's fighting type covers. A Dark/Steel type could work in giving it quad weakness to fighting while maintaining a type weakness to Fighting/Poison and an advantage to Psychic/Ghost.

So Psychic Ghost, Fighting Poison, and Dark Steel- what could we craft from that? That's the question of the hour if we're trying to turn old starters to convergents of these types. Convergents are a bit more loose and lax, merely only requiring a resemblance to the original while claiming to be a different species (ignore Sinistcha and Poltchageist the "not" regional teapot Pokemon claiming to not be regional variants despite basically being regional variants).

That's where I tap out. You can try to assign a starter to the type, but to really match the spirit of Convergents like Wugtrio and Toedscruel, you want to make it a different species, and for the most part the starters don't really have that going for them unless you really stretch a design. You could maybe make Litten a dog, Chikorita a slug (a call back to beta designs), possibly Sobble into a stick bug, I guess.

I'm not really sure what I want. The only thing that matters to me is design, I don't care just how much research goes into every aspect of a design, if it's bad design then that's it- look no further than the Galar starters. I think we can probably rule out the Kanto, Hoenn, Kalos, and Paldean starters due to the megas or just already having relevance to Gen 6 + how recent Paldea is. That leaves a possibility of 15 starters/5 gens to pick apart from. I only bring this up because GF is bent on surprises, so they might not go with what we deem "obvious." Hell they could give us Mega kalos starters and call it a day.

If there's a wrench to be tossed anywhere, I could possibly say Totodile and Feraligatr could be chosen as the water or water adjacent starter due to the heavy French influences in Louisiana, aka a place very well known for gators and bayous.

But anyway, I totally forgot themes- I think they'll probably do like Hisui and just make them French as hell as a unifying trait, but if nothing else we could use more RPG classes such as a Monk, Berserker, Fighter, etc.

F.E.T.E is a huge group, but it also contains different types of units for certain missions. Flicker leads the Kanto unit. Ronin leads the Horn unit. Wukong (Infernape) leads Sinnoh. Tremor (Krookodile) leads Unova. Kunai (Greninja) leads Kalos. Alpha (Lycanroc) and Tigre (Incineroar) co-lead Alola. And Ash and Nimbus (Pikachu) of course lead the whole family.

Upon seeing the honedge speak about itself, Piko instantly makes her way towards its owner, and bright shine in her eye, as she looks the blade up and down. "Oh that is excellent! Can you show me the blade? I am curious, the sheath seems to lean toward it being a katana, but, I have heard most honedge are closer to a gladius in design."

Ronin glances over towards Piko and gave a small nod before removing the Honedge from his sheath to reveal the blade in his proper form.

"You know I can't say this isn't the first time anyone asked to look at my blade. Hope you like what you see. I don't offer much besides my occasional snarky ass comment," the sword commented, pressing their cloth hand against their hilt. "What you're looking at is a Honedge forged by the hands of the God of Craft and Artillery. Well...I suppose it's easier just to say Regigigas. Most of material used for my blade came from my old form. It's amazing anything was salvageable with those Tinkatink line hanging around my body."

"Looks like they managed to tire themselves out."

Ronin's words caused Apollo to look away from the three kids currently slumped in his arms towards the Greninja. How the Blaziken managed to hold all three at once while they were covered in Finn's new blanket was a mystery. However, it was a mystery that Apollo didn't care to work out. Apollo smiled and leaned against Ronin, only putting a bit of his body weight against his smaller companion.

"It seems so. You know that's a good event if the two most excitable kids managed to drain themselves," Apollo chuckled. "...We should have brought Lew and Ali here. I think that they will really enjoy it espesically Ali."

"Perhaps," Ronin nodded. He briefly glanced down towards the kids before looking to Apollo. "Did you have fun?"

"I feel that's a bit of a silly question to ask-" Apollo raised a brow.

"You did come out of a argument with your father prior to this-" Ronin's next words managed to shut Apollo up momentarily. In those few moments of silence, Ronin continued speaking. "I just want to make sure this helped you."

"...It did," Apollo nodded. He briefly glanced out towards the water. "...It helped clear my head....and remind that I'm not like him. I don't think he's the type that enjoys events like this. i bet he'll go on about how this would be a waste of time."

"Well thankfully he's not here to ruin the vibes for that."

Apollo and Ronin shifted their gaze towards the smaller form that stood in front of them. It was a Victini. The rabbit was holding their hands together with a gentle smile on their face. Upon being spotted, the Pokemon floated up and landed on Ronin's shoulder.

"Katsuo, sir. You came right back on time! Amazing timing as always!" Apollo chirped. He paused at realizing at how loud he was based on Finn's wiggling slightly in his arms. "Oh..sorry there."

"Amazing timing? Personally, I believe it was just a bit of luck," Katsuo let out a soft laugh at his joke as he twirled his finger in the air. From it, a swirl of fire twisted around it before shooting outwards to form a portal. "I see you gotten some gifts from your adventure here."

"Some pretty lovely ones, yes," Ronin nodded. "I think Finn might end up showing his at school."

"You might have to get a decent backpack for Finn to carry that around," Apollo chuckled.

"...Hmm...." Ronin was heavily considering that.

"Well if you had so much fun here, perhaps I should seek more events similar to this. I'm sure with a bit of luck, that shouldn't be all that hard. Until then, let's depart." Katsuo hummed. He looked towards Apollo. "I do want to talk to you about important things."

Apollo nodded before glancing back to those who still remained. He nudged Ronin, who did him a favor of waving at the people there. After that quiet failure, the group of Pokemon vanished through the vortex made.

Gift to Magi

“So these are the Magi..?” 

Apollo could only watch with delight as the trio of light emerged from the horizon and soared by. While he may not be as vocal with his joy at the appearance, Finn, Haruto and Nova did most of the work for him. He could hear all three of them chatter in great delight as he could hear them talk about how quickly they moved. Ronin did not choose to respond to Apollo as his attention was more focused on the Blaziken next to him. Ronin was not a man who can easily read emotions. Hell, it took a while for him to register whatever stronger emotion he felt until the feeling passed. However, he was learning how to deal with that. He was taking the time to take in the little details that most would miss to gauge other’s emotions and his own. He was applying this method here. 

Ronin knew that Apollo had been unhappy back home. He couldn’t blame him, considering he heard about how nasty the argument between Apollo and his father was. Granted, it was by pure accident. However, it made him realize how similar they were. They both were good at masking that trauma they had with their respective parents if that trauma was vastly different. So…it was nice to see Apollo relaxed. It was nice to see he wasn’t forcing himself to mask how tired it was. It was nice to see him experience a childish joy. As he studied Apollo, he felt a chill go down his spine. 

Was he in danger?

No. Wait. This place was safe.

Wait.

Out of pure reflex, Ronin fired the weakest Extrasensory to his right just in time to have the move come in contact with a tripping Finn that had been approaching with Haruto and Nova. With his typing shifting that of a Psychic type thanks to his ability, he bended the move properties into makeshift psychic so he can catch Finn. Ronin was starting to understand what Lewis meant by having kids giving reflexes because he was honestly impressed by his own speed. In a blink, Finn was back on his feet, momentarily confused. Upon locking eyes with Ronin, Finn realized what happened and offered a soft smile towards his father before carefully moving over.  Ronin offered his boy a warm smile as he rubbed his head as he listened to Haruto ramble on with Nova. His typing hasn’t returned back to normal as he was stil on edge.

“We should give them the gifts now! Come on! Let’s do it!”  Haruto barked. 

“We worked reallllly hard on our gifts! Like super hard!” Nova huffed. 

“Goodness, hold on now. Let me take my time with this,” Apollo laughed.

As Apollo reached into his bag to gather their gifts, Haruto decided to call out to the Magi. However, unlike before, the young Ogerpon-disguised-Florgatos spoke in a much more polite manner. “Hello, Magi! I’m not too familiar with the customs of this world, but I thank you for blessing us on this lovely day. I hope one day we can come here again with our two friends who couldn’t be here.”

By this point, Apollo pulled out a basket. It was filled with various assortment of berries of high quality and a container of water that was properly sealed to prevent spillage. This time, Apollo chose to speak. “The berries come from my partner. He has a habit of growing various different berries as a hobby and always strives for perfection for them!” He flashed a grin. “The water…well…I don’t really have any flashy commentary other than the fact that Ronin made sure it was clean!”

Ronin only offered a “hm” for his commentary as Nova climbed up Apollo’s shoulder and pointed a paw towards the inside of the basket. 

“And don’t forget the super special gift!” Nova chirped. 

Apollo nodded and reached into the basket to pull out a patchwork blanket that rested underneath the berries. It was there that Finn decided to speak up. His voice was much softer compared to the others. “T-that’s my o-old blanket that papa first made me. U-uh I thought you would really like it…s-since it’s soft…and uh….I don’t know if you need it. But uh…well…” He stopped and cleared his throat. “I hope it makes you really happy like it made me really happy!” 

With that exclamation, Finn immediately hid behind Ronin’s leg with his father letting out a soft pleasant hum in response.

She's sticking out her tongue and doing her classic "blep" face, despite otherwise intending to be a little serious. [Those are very intense scars! Reminds me of someone I knew that had a scar like that on her thigh. Were you exiled like she was? What happened that gave you those scars?]

Ronin was sitting on the hammock when Shauna addressed him. He took a few moments to make note of the message and her gaze at his scars. Internally, he cringed despite being so used to answering this question so often. Externally, he maintains his usual neutral expression. "Yes. I'm exiled from my clan. Been exiled from it for....6 years now. I believe that would make me 18..."

He squinted in thought, mentally trying to work out that's the case. Upon confirming that, he nods. "I come from the Gekkouga clan. My clan are rivals to those of the Gaburias clan. Gaburias clan are mostly composed of that of the Gible line and other draconic Pokemon. The two clans always like to battle each other for territory. Both clans like to send their strongest for those. I was the strongest of the year while the Gaburias sent in this Gabite known as "'Tyson.""

"My scars came from my battle with him. As it turns out, a mix of Fire Fang and Dragon Claw can really ruin your neck. Honestly, amazed that he didn't damage my ability to speak. However, I knew what I was getting into when I involved myself in that. I just...wasn't expecting to lose. It wasn't really losing that caused me to be exiled. It was...my reaction afterwards."

He rubbed his neck. "I ended up lashing out against Tyson when the battle was over. My mother wasn't happy about it, and we ended up getting into a fight about it. I don't remember the details about our argument....though I think you can imagine it ended quite poorly since I was kicked out of the clan by her. I mostly gotten over it."

It was a lie. He hasn't gotten over it, but nothing wrong with telling a little white lie.

"Remember try to avoid slipping out of your Floragato while we're here."

"Not even if Gods are here."

"Especially if Gods are here. They are not the same as always. Also, be wary of these.....hu..mans? Is that what Lord Katsuo called them?"

"Apparently."

Through a portal, Apollo stepped out with a bag swung over his shoulders as well as Nova near his feet. The young girl was no longer wearing her winter clothes due to this area being warm enough You can see the excitement in Nova eyes as she looked around wildly at their new location. The only thing that stopped her from breaking away from her father was the Blaziken lightly nudging her side with one of his talons on his feet. Standing close by them was Finn, who was holding the hand of a Florgatos that we can assume was most likely Haruto based off the fact they had elements of the Ogerpon.

However a new additional stood them that took the form of a Greninja. The frog was leaning against the side of Apollo while adjusting the straps of a scabbard that held a Honedge. It was unclear if the Honedge was alive or not based off its closed eye.

"Well we're free now..so I suppose we should enjoy our time here," Apollo smiled. "You kids go play, ok? We'll be over by the hammocks if you need us."

"Mmm," Ronin just gave a silent noise in agreement before gently reaching down to run the heads of Haruto and Finn.

Haruto flashed a grin at Ronin with Finn reaching out to gently provide Ronin a awkward leg hug. Ronin hugged him back with a low hum before letting go. He waved Finn and Haruto off as the two boys scurried off with Nova in tow to explore the area. Both Apollo and Ronin kept a eye on them for a minute to make sure they were fine before Ronin grasped Apollo's hand and held it. Apollo blushed slightly and scratched his cheek as the two of them moved to the hammocks.

Anne and I both have teams.

Being a Herpetologist, her team consists of a lot of Frog Pokémon, but there's a couple seemingly unaffiliated. Politoed, Greninja, Croagunk, Tadbulb, Yanma and Hisuian Goodra.

Most of her team has also been nicknamed in reference to her found family, of course. Politoed is Hop Pop, Croagunk is Sprig, Tadbulb is Polly and Goodra is Bessie. She's thought about nicknames for Greninja and Yanma, but hasn't come up with anything concrete or long term.

On the flip-side, there's my team, which follows no real theming beyond the listed being my favorites.

My team consists of A.T.H.E.N.A. the Iron Valiant, Abel the Silvally, Ribbon the Sylveon, Shade the Marshadow, Ronin the Sneasler and Spitfire the Armarouge, with a couple swap-outs here and there depending on the situation.

Anne's obviously a bit more on the lax side with her team, while I, myself, am pretty battle focused.

[Ronin] That Honedge you have with you..? It hasn't really been active. Is it...alive or...?

"What is the definition of being alive?"

A voice that doesn't belong to Ronin speaks from his side. Ronin doesn't spare a glance to the source of the voice as he was mostly interested in leaning back. However, his hand did grasp at the hilt of the blade near his side and raise it up to the eye of the blade could glance at the anon that ask him that question.

"Because as someone who had died before, I wish it was as peaceful as me closing my eye," the blade snorted. "However, to answer your question, no. I'm not dead. "I don't quite know if you count...being revived into a ghostly blade as being dead either.”

This Honedge was strange for a blade. For those sensitive to divine energy, they would vaguely feel a divine touch emitting from it that suggests his creation was tied to one. Perhaps that explains why he was much larger than an average Honedge. Ronin had placed him down next to his side and leaned back in his spot. It seems as if the sword is willing to entertain a few interactions and questions for a time.

???: Yo yo yo, how's it hanging? How are the vibes this fine night? You know, you seem rather strong. I mean, those gnarly-ass scars look hella badass on you. I've never gotten a scar before. Nobody has been able to land a hit capable enough to dent me but that's besides the point. What's going on there? What's the story behind that? Like, is it some tragic tale full of woe and sorrow, or something radical like a fall from a rock or something?

Ronin eye twitched slightly at the appearance of the Goomy. Internally, his body was screaming various curses at the Pokemon. However, he repeatedly have to remind himself the Pokemon did no wrong and he shouldn't allow his personal opinion about dragons disrespect this wonderful vibe.

As he listened, he was a bit taken aback about this Pokemon's words. His scars...look badass on him? Huh. Not the words he expected to hear. Regardless, he ended up repeating a story he told, but it was a lot different compare to that. "I come from a country where different clans fight for territory. We don't use for the land for our personal needs espesically given the number of ferals that live in the country. So I guess you can say it's bragging rights."

"I guess you can say it's our personal sport. Every few months, my clan sends someone to face off against our rivals: Gaburias Clan. They're a clan composed of Gible line and mostly draconic Pokemon. Think I vaguely them worshipping Yveltal and were the ones that invented Styles."

"Regardless, I was involved in one of those competition and faced off against the strongest of the Gaburias. I got my scars from him. However, I was prepared to end up with them since I'm considered one of the lucky ones. Our clans are the type to overdo it...and well at least I wasn't the only one that have a nasty scars. Honestly, the real tragedy was everything afterwards. Don't think you care to hear that though."

Personality: There are several beliefs of how a ninja should act. For Ronin, his idea of one is shared amongst those in his clan. According to Ronin, one has to have a deep understanding of their inner self. This self-awareness is one that allows one to pick up their strengths, weaknesses, and influences in both their lives and others. In his eyes, a ninja should be clear with their intentions, commitments and personal motivation in life. As a ninja, these are the personality traits that mean life and death in a ninja’s line of work. These personality traits are ones that Ronin possesses. One can say Ronin is the stereotypical ideal of what a ninja should be. Even Ronin himself admits this. However, there is one unusual trait that Ronin possesses that is viewed as being bizarre, considering who he is: his submission.

Being submissive is what Ronin considers to be a curse yet a blessing. It is a curse due to what I have stated previously. However, he viewed it as being a blessing due to the fact his skewed idea of what being submissive truly meant. In his eyes, those submissive know their place in the world and often rewarded for what they did. No one knows who twisted his understanding of submission. In his clan, submissive is an important thing if you wish to rise in rank and power. Outside of this, Ronin is shown to be a gentleman, and few can argue about that specific fact. He treats those of higher authority than himself with the utmost respect and courtesy and extends that same politeness to those around him. He has a high regard for the rules and expects he and others should follow them, often frowning upon rebellious acts (which is ironic considering the shit this frog has done) as a result. The male tends to keeps his personal feelings to himself and has an easier time listening to one's problem than talk about his own. It could be because he prefers not to talk about his problems. He has a bit of a temper that only pop up whenever things don't go his way. Despite being out in the world for quite some time, Ronin is still naïve when it comes to certain things in life and is only now learning what it means to be selfish through his interactions with Lewis.
