Now listen to me, I need to scream into the void all my newfound realizations and woes but it's 1:30 in the morning and I need to wake up early the next day. So understand that I'm making this as short as gayly possible (it may not be short at all).

Aside from all the lesbian saxophone that my eyes just witnessed, which is a scream that will never make contact with any airwaves - digital or otherwise - ... The last two minutes of that trailer were entirely unexpected.

Now don't get me fucking wrong I wasn't NOT paying attention to the section of the teaser during the livestream that showed us a glimpse of Black Swan's fear and surprise drowning in that fiery background. but. ... bro— FUCKING COME ONNNN MAN!!

HOW FAST THE SCENE FLIPPED, HOW QUICKLY- WHATEVER THAT THING (IT DEFINITELY WASN'T THE ACHERON WE KNOW) WAS TOOK THE LEAD and LITERALLY tossed Black Swan around like a helpless bird. a PREDATOR chasing their PREY

AND THE PREY IS BLACK FUCKING SWAN???? THE FUCKING MEMOKEEPER FROM THE GARDEN OF RECOLLECTION?? THE MYSTERIOUS AND ELEGANT SOOTHSAYER???

To see Black Swan of ALL characters in this game so far be filled with such visceral fear and trepidation, to be tossed around at the MERCY of something that could have so EASILY killed her just like. t h a t. is beyond insane.

I expected it to be more of a "What terrible horrors have you commited?" 'Wow! Horrors that even Black Swan thinks is terrible, Acheron is capable of s-' no she literally almost killed her. She's not a human by the way. Black Swan is not a human being anymore she is like. coNdEnseD mEmORy AND SHE LITERALLY ALMOST DIED. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???

one thing I've noticed in the Rondo Across Countless Kalpas short is that Acheron pulls away from Black Swan everytime she tries to initiate something affectionate (kissing her hand, pulling her chin closer, etc.), but in the memory world it's Black Swan who wants to run away and Acheron initiates. I think that's such a cool paralel, so well thought! Also the predator and prey imagery was so amazing, especially with the ones they chose (leopard= big strong and fast, antelope is scared ; bear= big and scary, rabbit = small and even though fast, not fast enough; I think sharks and fish speak for themselves; a butterfly being beautiful but helpless while a spider is scary; a Venus' Trap is..well, a trap, and a fly gets abducted easily), it's obvious they rlly put a lot of thought into it

I feel like I only ever write out of spite -- anyways, more analysis of Rondo across Countless Kalpas:

I'm not certain how much danger Black Swan is in throughout the course of the dance, and I'm honestly inclined to say that she actually wasn't in any physical (as physical as a non-physical memokeeper can get) danger during the dance, and even in the ensuing hunt sequence. I mostly say this because the sequence ends with Black Swan being consumed by the black hole (thus, dying), but she instead "awakens" in something that is either reality or the dream side of Penacony, alive and well. So, if Black Swan isn't physically being killed or consumed, what does the depiction of the kill represent?

Heh, I have no idea. Good luck with that, people smarter than me.

If I were to guess, though, I'd say that it's less a kill in the present and more a glimpse of a possible future: Acheron is showing Black Swan how everything will be consumed by nihility (assuming that the black hole depicted *is* IX), and giving her a sensation of death that is not actually death. Why? No idea. Most logical conclusion would be that Acheron did it to dissuade Black Swan from trying to pry in her memories more, but that's kind of boring, and we don't know why she's trying to cover up her alleged murder of Duke Inferno in the first place. Whatever's going on, I just really hope that the themes of memories and dreams, along with the motif of clocks seen throughout Penacony, point toward an overarching theme of time, both past and future.
