# PRINCESS TREATMENT! — footballers
— SUMMARY: you show off the princess treatment you get from your footballer boyfriend! (part 2!)
CONTENT: fluff, footballers being simps, light jealously, light sensuality, sexual themes in messi’s drabble
PARINGS: young!messi x reader, young!christiano, barça!neymar x reader, jude bellingham x reader
NOTE: feel free to change anything about the dress or the jewellery 💕
NEYMAR JUNIOR — credit card!
“Angel, o que você está olhando?” Neymar kissed your forehead before plopping down beside you sliding his hand to your waist. You took a sip from your red wine before answering him “Online Shopping.” [What are you looking at?]
You were currently shopping on Van Cleef & Arpels for the trending Vintage Alhambra set, your friend had showed it & you couldn’t help but take and interest in it.
“Hmm, do you like it?” Neymar asked kissing down your neck till he reached your collarbone, you curl your hand around his head as he nipped at your vanilla scented soft skin. “Yeah it’s beautiful. I prefer it in red though.”
You took another sip of your wine as you placed the last item of the set in the cart inching the total amount above 60,000. You took a deep sigh placing your wine cup onto the coffee table in-front of you.
“Something wrong princess?” Neymar asks slightly concerned with the look on your face, you shook your head slowly tapping the arm-rest of the couch with your nails before pulling his head onto your lap with his hair scratching against your exposed thighs.
“Nothing, I just feel bad spending your money.” You muttered out, not used to living such a lavish lifestyle to this degree & having everything at your fingertips was a constant battle with your impulse control issues.
He sat up slowly looking deeply into your eyes, he had a serious look on his face but all you could see was love and affection seeping from his pores every second he stared into your eyes.
“My love, what does life mean for me if I can’t spend money on the woman I love? My money is your money & your money is your money.” Hearing that shut down any type of insecure thoughts still lingering in your mind.
As your eyes focus’s on his he grabbed the back of your neck moving aside any stray hair and pulled you in for a soft kiss. Neymar smiled into the kiss as he can taste your strawberry chapstick on his tongue.
You pull away from the kiss staring at your boyfriend who just sat in front of you with a cocky look on his face wiping away the saliva from his lips as he later back down hands behind his head your exposed lap.
“Buy anything you’d like love, my money is for you & you only.”
CRISTIANO RONALDO — expensive jewelry!
“Which one would you like beautiful? Pick anything you like.” Cristiano whispered into your ear as you skimmed the different glass boxes filled with 24k+ different types of diamonds, golds & other expensive stones.
He had to practically beg you to go out with him today as you were feeling a little down lately but he knew you’d like what you were looking at. “Relax baby I’ll choose one.” You giggled walking to the other side of the boutique to look at the emerald stones.
You weren’t a big fan of dark swampy colours of greens but something about emerald jewels just caught your eye in a way other gems couldn’t; except diamonds of course. Apart from Cristiano; Diamonds were your 1 true love.
“Excuse me how much is—” Just as you were going to ask the salesman the price of the necklace + earrings set you just found Cris had interrupted you placing his hand over your mouth. “Hi can you grab this for us please? Thank you so much.”
As the jeweller prepared the necklace Ronaldo had pulled you into a secluded area of the store placing a finger over his mouth signalling you to be quiet. “Love, don’t ask for the price when you’re out with me. Ever. If you’re with me just ask for what you want.”
“Okay, Mr. Ronaldo.” You pulled him by the tie for a quick kiss where he wrapped his arms around your waist inching his hand down towards your ass giving it a slight squeeze.
You both pulled away walking back to the salesman with his hand still on your ass who was calling your names. “Mr. Ronaldo, this is a 24 carat, hand crafted, €310,000 necklace. All the diamonds here are—”
“I know you’re just doing your job but I’m sure my girlfriend here doesn’t care about all the statistics. Please box it for her & send me the bill.” Cristiano cut the salesman off once he noticed you weren’t paying 1 bit of attention to the details of the necklace + earring’s history.
“Right away.” The jeweller smiled before walking away to get the actual product out the back to begin packaging it. Once he walked away you turned to Cris and pulled him in for a kiss cupping his face.
Once you both pulled away he wiped away some dust from your face with his thumb while staring into your eyes as if he had been hypnotized by you. “What was that for?”
“You don’t like my kisses anymore?” You questioned pulling him to whisper in his ear, he chuckled lowly rubbing circles on your ass.
“No, not that. You rarely kiss me in public if it isn’t a secluded area.” You looked up at him with your (colour) doe eyes as you watched him swallow nervously loosening his tie.
“Well you just bought me €300,000 diamond necklaces. It’s your reward.” Dragging your finger down his chest & looking up at him with your eyes filled with a look of seduction & affection.
“If spoiling my lover gets me rewards like this you can pick out anything you like in the store. We won’t leave till your satisfied.”
JUDE BELLINGHAM — shoe strap!
“Darling are you finish yet? We have to leave soon.” Jude walks into your shared bedroom & watches you finish the final touches of your make up dress still unzipped and different pairs of heels spread around the room.
“Sorry baby, I was having trouble zipping up my dress then I couldn’t pick between a few heels.” Seeing him walk into the room made you go faster than you already were. Feeling his hands on your shoulders calmed you down.
“Don’t stress, I’ll help you.” He motioned you to sit up from the ottoman, feeling his cold hands against your exposed warm back sent electric waves down your spine giving you goosebumps all over your arms.
As Jude’s hands zipped up your dress you stared him through the mirror watching his every move. Once he was done he spun you around and kissed your forehead placing his on-top of yours.
You both stayed in that position for a while before he pulled away and made his way towards your shared walk-in closet coming back your YSL heels. “Oh not those they’re soooo hard to walk in.”
You complained walking towards the bed to pick up a different pair of shoes. He placed the shoe box beside you taking the pair of Red Bottoms and flinging them somewhere around the room. “You look stunning in them, if your feet start to hurt I’ll carry you. Okay?”
“…Okay” You responded sticking out your foot so Jude could put on the first shoe, you felt like Cinderella when she lost her glass shoe & the prince came to personally return it to her.
“Stand up baby.” Jude helped you stand up from the bed as if you were made of glass holding your waist as he hoisted you up.
Jude bent down to adjust the strap of your heel around your ankle, once he was done he lifted your foot to kiss the side of your ankle before going to the other one.
As he did the same to your left foot he hadn’t notice your phone recording him as he looked back and saw you recording a tiktok through the mirror behind you. “Enjoying showing me off?”
You giggled pulling your foot away once he was done he placed your foot on the ground and stood back up, you placed your phone in your purse and turned around to place it on the bed putting in your lip-gloss & power in your bag.
As you put the rest of your items in your bag you felt Jude’s hands slip around your waist pulling you closer towards his body, you hadn’t thought anything of it until you felt something firm against your ass.
“Is that what I think it is?” You turned around to face him looking into his brown eyes which was filled lust & affection. He took your hand and tried to place it on his hard-on. Just for you to pull away.
“Uh huh, We’re going to this dinner Mr.” You pulled away and walked away towards the hallway with Jude jogging right behind you
“Can we at-least leave halfway?” He asked stopping you by grabbing onto your hand intertwining your fingers with his. “Maybe.”
“God you drive me absolutely insane baby.”
LIONEL MESSI — shopping spree!
“Sweetheart are you done yet?” Leo asked from outside the dressing room where you were currently trying on your 7th dress from the store.
You had asked to spend the day with him & when he decided to go to a shopping centre you knew were going to walk out of their a few thousand dollars poorer.
Lionel loved spending money on you as he saw how happy you looked dressing up for different events you both attended like dates, galas, award shows, games & everything else between the lines.
“Yeah I just need help with the zipper!” You opened the door of the change room and came out a in a tight black dress decorated in gold chains, you fell in-love with the dress the moment you saw lily were it the MET GALA & Leo just had to get it for you.
As you spun looking at yourself in mirror enjoying the dress Leo couldn’t help but stare at you in awe almost dropping all the shopping bags in his hands along with the other dressed over his shoulder. “God you look—”
“Stunning? Sexy? I know. All thanks to you baby. And my parents of course.” You walked towards him pulling him in for a long passionate kiss, you pulled away with a thin line of saliva connecting you two.
You looked around to see if any of the workers were around before pulling him in once again kissing him deeply as you pushed your tongue between his lips. His teammates and friends had always teased him for being pussy whipped & a simp for you.
He had always denied it thinking he was just treating you the way a boyfriend with his status & fame should but whenever you pulled him in for a kiss the way you just did he knew they were right.
“Leo baby you dropped my bags.” You whispered as you pulled away just enough for your lips to not be touching, you pulled away snickering at him before entering the change room once again to try on another dress
“Last one okay baby!” You shouted as you threw the dress over the door onto Leo’s head, he placed the bags and dresses onto the couch he was sitting and sat up sneaking into the change room along with you.
“Leo what are you—!” He slammed the door shut and pulled your body closer towards him, you just took off the previous dress so you were still in your undergarments.
“You cant be in here! What if an employee see you?” You panicked unaware of him unhooking your lacy bra as he kissed your neck hands rubbing down your waist all the way to your hips.
“It’s okay, I’ll be fast.” He whispered pulling off your bra covering your breasts with his hands as he stared at you in the mirror. “You’re too much!” You laughed turning around to face your boyfriend.
The moment you turned around he spun you back around so you could see yourself in the mirror. “You can milk me of every penny I own I don’t care, please just let me fuck you right now. I need it so badly you don’t even know.”

Heartfirst: A Ted Lasso Story - Chapter Twenty One
Chapter Twenty One: Coming Home
Plot: Loose ends are tied up and big changes come after Richmond’s victory.
Word Count: 4.2k
Warnings: language, mention of parental neglect/abuse, mention of alcohol, one suggestive line
A/N: Well, we have arrived at the end! I definitely intended to be done a long time ago, but life had other plans lol. Thanks to everyone who came along on this ride I had no intention of taking. I hope you enjoyed it!! MERRY CHRISTMAS AND GO RICHMOND!!! 💙❤️💛🎄❄️🎅🏻
————
In the afterglow of Richmond’s big win, there was a sadness that couldn’t be ignored, and it came in the form of a Boeing 747.
The day of his and Beard’s departure, Ted exited his apartment for the last time. He took a reflective breath and knocked his knuckles against the wood before turning away. As always, his assistant coach was waiting for him nearby.
The two men walked through Richmond for the last time, a few locals wishing them well as they left. When they made it to the curb, they spotted a familiar face.
“What’re you doin’ here?” Ted smiled.
Y/n shrugged from her place on the bench. “I figured you’ve done so many coffee runs at the office,” she held up two cups, “I’d return the favor.”
Ted and Beard moseyed over, Y/n stood and handed them the cups.
“And maybe I wanted to say goodbye,” Y/n smiled, “Just one more time.”
“Well, I won’t say no to that,” Ted replied, waiting for Y/n to retrieve her own cup so the three could toast. When he took a sip, he coughed. “What exactly is this?”
“An Americano,” Y/n answered.
Ted cleared his throat of the strong taste before he paused, realizing the joke. “The three Americanos.”
Y/n smiled, “Bingo.”
“Aw, hell, that’s too good,” Ted said proudly, “I’ll push through.”
Beard touched his chest. “You’ve come so far.”
“Well,” Y/n sighed, “If you guys have to go, I’m making sure it’s on a high note.”
“That’s right,” Ted smiled, “You and Jamie got any plans for the break?”
“Yeah, actually, Nike wants him to do this shoot in Brazil,” Y/n answered, Jamie’d only sprung the news on her last night, “We’ve gotta get down in a few weeks.”
Ted and Beard both let out suggestive ‘oohs’ that gave Y/n a laugh.
“Watch you back, Dave and Posh,” Ted teased, “There’s a new power couple on the pitch.”
As much as she wanted to deny it, there was something in Y/n’s gut that told her Ted wasn’t wrong. Since their kiss after Richmond’s win, Jamie and Y/n had been flooded by requests for interviews. Paparazzi and fan sightings were abundant. Even then, at the buttcrack of morning, Y/n spotted two teen girls whispering and pointing in her direction, no doubt debating if that really was Jamie Tartt’s girlfriend. It was new territory, but they were rising to the occasion. The footballer and the PR girl.
“Just promise us good seats at the wedding,” Ted continued, “Don’t be bumpin’ us just ‘cause Ronaldo and Messi show us.”
“How ‘bout we hug?” Y/n quickly changed the subject. Baby steps was the key to her staying happy with Jamie. “Let’s hug.”
Ted and Beard laughed before they all piled in a group embrace. The three of them had become a team of sorts, being the only Americans, and it was a bond Y/n was sad to see go. The only thing that comforted her was that Ted and Beard meant so much to Richmond, it certainly wouldn’t be the last they saw of one another.
“Alright,” Y/n said when she felt the tears begin to form, “You two get out of here. The plane’s not gonna wait for two dumb Americans.”
Ted laughed, patted Y/n on the back and pulled back to look proudly at her. “You take care, Y/n.”
Y/n’s smile was watery and full of unspoken gratitude, “You too.”
Beard spotted Y/n one more hug, seemingly needing it more than she did. “Bye, Y/n.”
“Bye, Beard.”
Finally, the three of them separated and Ted and Beard flagged down a coming cab. When they had loaded their luggage, Ted turned back one last time and gave Y/n a wave. She returned it, finally letting the tears fall down her contradicting smile.
Ted had done more for Richmond than anyone ever had. But more importantly, he had changed the people that made the Greyhounds who they were. No one would ever be the same after Ted Lasso’s reign. And that, Y/n concluded as the cab drove off, was a beautiful thing.
—————————
Post-victory, Richmond was still residing in its usual chaos.
When Y/n came into the office, taking care of a few post-season items with Higgins and Rebecca, and saw Beard in the hall, she was surprised but ecstatic. It was good for both of them to have some semblance of home.
Then came the announcement that Roy would be promoted to head coach, with Beard and Nate as the assistants. It seemed only natural for him to take over. Everyone was glad they didn’t have to adjust to someone new. And it was good territory for Roy to step into a leadership role. He was coming into his own in this new stage of life.
KJPR became KBPR as Keeley and Barbara officially went into business with one another. At first, Keeley had worried that Y/n may feel slighted. After all, she had done so much to help when Keeley was still getting her bearings. It ended up being quite the opposite. With Barbara as partner, Y/n could return back to Richmond, something she was thrilled about. The three women continued to work in total harmony.
Rebecca had even made some changes in her life. Under circumstances Y/n and Keeley were promised to hear about eventually, she had run into her mystery Dutchman and the two had started going out. It did everyone good to see Rebecca so happy. She deserved it.
Y/n and Jamie weren’t the only couple having the handle a mess of PR after the match. Colin had unofficially come out after kissing his boyfriend, Michael, on the pitch. Journalists, both honest and sleazy, were hounding the both of them. The day it stopped was the day they got cocky enough to trespass on Colin’s property. They were unaware that his publicist was present, and Y/n took a great deal of joy in coming around the side of the house with the gardening hose and spraying them all away. Needless to say, Colin felt extremely protected with her as his first line of defense.
Jamie and Y/n stayed the same, sickeningly in love with one another and growing more so by the day. Just after Roy was announced as head coach, they were booked to fly out to Brazil. Somehow Roy and Keeley, separately, had roped themselves in to coming as well.
“Our first trip away together,” Jamie lamented as they were packing at Y/n’s apartment, “And the old fart latches on.”
Y/n was across the room, grabbing a stack of t-shirts from her dresser. “That’s a horrible thing to call Keeley.” She laughed as Jamie flashed her a glare, “I can’t wait till you stop acting like you’re mad about this.”
“I am mad about this,” Jamie insisted.
“And the minute we’re all there, you two’ll be inseparable,” Y/n crossed the space to the bed, where Jamie and his suitcase sat, and pressed a kiss to his cheek. “I’ll be lucky if I get two minutes with you.”
Jamie scoffed, even though he knew there was truth to it. He could no longer deny him and Roy hated one another. Instead, he put his energy into rifling through his girlfriend’s suitcase.
“Jamie, I just got that organized,” Y/n whined, “What are you doing?”
“I’m thinning it out,” he answered, throwing item after item out onto the bedspread, “You don’t need half of this.”
Once he was done, Y/n looked into the square, there was very little. “Three bathing suits and underwear?”
“Yeah,” Jamie said deadpan before smirking, “All you need.”
Jamie pressed a kiss behind Y/n’s ear and wandered out of the bedroom. She was left laughing and undoing his handiwork. She was in the middle of repacking her pajamas when her cell phone rang from her nightstand.
“Jamie,” she called out, “Could you grab my phone?”
“Hang on,” Jamie yelled from the living room, “Phone’s ringing.”
Y/n sighed and went to collect her mobile herself. She glanced at the caller ID.
Dad
Time itself seemed to stop and Y/n was immobilized. It had been a month since Manchester when she’d been brave and called her parents. Not a word from either of them. It had been so easy to have courage in her rush of adrenaline, consumed by confidence and prepared to knock any obstacle down to get back to Richmond.
Now…she didn’t know what to do.
The little voice in her head that sounded much like the her in Manchester said to pick up.
Just before the last ring sounded, Y/n swiped across her screen and started the call.
“Hello?”
“Hi, uh…” Y/n’s dad stammered, “Hi, honey.”
“Hi,” she repeated.
“Hi.”
The two fell silent.
“Um…how-how are you?” Y/n was the first to ask.
“Oh, fine. Fine…yeah, we’re uh, we’re okay. How are you?”
Y/n wiped her hand across her jeans, beginning to wander the room like a Roomba. “Uh, I’m good. Decent. I, uh, I’m packing right now.”
“Oh, are you moving?”
“No, no. I’m, uh, I’m going on a trip with some friends and my uh…my boyfriend.”
Her dad didn’t seem to be phased. “Yeah, I heard something about that. I mean, I read it. You’re making headlines over here.”
Y/n stopped, “I am?”
“Well, it’s not front page or anything,” he corrected himself, “But there’s a few. That Tartt fellow seems like a hell of a player.”
“He is,” Y/n smiled, “He’s a great guy.”
“I’m glad to hear it,” her dad finished before another pause hit them. “Listen, I, uh, I wanted to call…well, I wanted to call sooner but…I wasn’t quite sure what to say.”
Disappointment began to settle in Y/n’s gut. It felt like there was some lame excuse coming. “Yeah, well…I didn’t exactly send a Hallmark greeting.”
“No, you didn’t do anything,” her dad quick addended, “I just wasn’t sure how to…how to speak to what you said because…it was so true.”
Suddenly everything became shaky, including her original message. “It was?”
“Of course. It was…painfully true. And I didn’t know what the right thing to say was and then when I felt like I did I was still worried it would be the wrong one and so…”
Another pause.
“Your mom and I, we, uh, we got into therapy,” Y/n’s dad continued.
Now that surprised her. “Oh, really?”
“Yeah, there were a lot of reasons. Nothing we did to one another, just…things from before you and Caylee were born. But mostly we, uh…we talked about how we raised you girls and all the areas we…could have done better.”
Y/n stayed silent, shocked into submission.
“And it’s been really helpful…and very….difficult.”
Y/n sighed, slightly annnoyed, feeling like her father was about to make the conversation about himself. “Yeah, well, I’ve heard therapy’s hard.”
“Not in the way you’d think,” her dad continued, “It’s been hard to…come to terms with what me and your mother did to you and Caylee.”
Now this was an entirely different kind of surprise. Y/n sunk onto her bed.
“Yeah?”
“Yes. We…I…I don’t even know where to start, but we’ve…we were a mess. A complete mess and we took it out on you girls.”
“I think…” Y/n drew a breath, “Taking it out on us would have been preferable.”
Her dad drew the same breath. “We ignored you girls. We left you to your own devices. We didn’t…we didn’t bond with you or support you in any way. Not the ways you needed at least. I think we thought if we were keeping a roof over your heads and keeping you alive, we were doing something right, but…that was nothing compared to what we didn’t do for you. What we kept from you.”
On opposite sides of the world, on different continents, separated by a great big ocean, father and daughter both began to shed tears.
“And I’m so sorry, honey,” Y/n’s dad’s voice wavered. “I’m so sorry.”
Y/n’s breath trembled, these were the words she’d longed to hear since she could recognize the problems in her family.
“Your phone call…it woke me and your mom up to a lot of things I think we’d known for years,” he went on, his voice a bit stronger now. “That we had the greatest girls given to us…and we didn’t care for you the way we should have.”
“Nothing you said was untrue, honey. And I’m glad you said it. You needed it and we needed to hear it. We needed to be woken up.”
Y/n sniffled trying to hold in the sobs she wanted to let go.
“And I can’t tell you how proud I am of you,” he audibly smiled through the phone, “Of the woman you’ve grown up to be and the life you’ve built for yourself. I think despite all the odds, you became the best version of yourself you could be.”
Y/n chuckled, a fresh batch of tears falling. “I love it.”
“I’ll bet you do,” her dad laughed, “I watched Richmond’s last game. It was a corker. And then to see you on the field…”
The two laughed in unison.
“That would be how I ended up in the headlines,” Y/n wiped her eyes.
“Mmm, I don’t think love’s a bad way to make headlines.”
Y/n had yet to say anything about loving Jamie, and yet her father already knew. Their moment on the pitch spoke for itself.
“So…you’re the only one that feels guilty?” Y/n finally asked.
“No,” her dad switched gears, “No, she’s actually at a session right now. I think she’s still a little nervous about making a call, but she wants to…she’s just trying to figure out what to say.”
“Tell her just to get really sad and really in love and pick up the phone,” Y/n suggested her method, “It’s easy.”
Her father laughed heartily, a sound Y/n was never really privy to as a child. It was so joyous, so full and round, it made her laugh as well.
“I hope it’s not too late to say it, but…” Y/n’s dad paused, “I really do love you, honey. And I’m sorry I didn’t do a better job of it.”
Y/n smiled, her eyes glazing oer with tears.
“And if you’ll let me and your mom…we’ll spend the rest of our lives trying to make up for all those years we were selfish.”
If she were a more vindictive person, Y/n would clutch the grudge in her palms and reject the offer. She’d tell her dad to go fuck himself and that no amount of time would ever make up for what was lost. But Richmond had softened her edges and rounded her out to be a more forgiving person. She’d learned from Ted and all his little life lessons on kindness he dropped. She’d learned from Rebecca, moving on and becoming the bigger person in the aftermath of her divorce. She’d learned from Jamie, who had done a complete 180 in his life and become one of the best people she knew. If he could forgive her for everything she’d put him through, how could she not pass it on to someone else?
“Yeah,” she answered, “Yeah, I’d really like that.”
Her dad took a quivering breath, full of emotion.
“But mom’s gonna have to do some groveling too,” Y/n joked.
“Oh, she’ll do it,” her dad agreed, “Probably even more than me. But she’ll do it as many times as necessary.”
The two of them stopped again, unsure of where to go from where they were.
“If you’re okay with it, eventually…we’d love to come out and see you. See this great big beautiful life you’ve built for yourself.”
It was an offer/request beyond what Y/n thought she’d ever get from her dad. Beyond what she ever thought possible for their family.
“Or maybe you could come home,” her dad suggested, just in case he’d pushed her forgiveness too far. “For a long weekend or something. Maybe in between games. Caylee came out last week.”
Her sister had failed to mention that piece of information. “She did?”
“Yeah.”
“She didn’t tell me.”
“Well, we kind of had the same talk. I think you and your sister share the same set of balls. She read us the riot act too.”
Caylee had never shied away from.…anything. She was the first of the sisters to put their upbringing behind them, to carve out a new life for themselves. It wasn’t surprising at all that she’d beaten Y/n to the punch of their parents.
“I think she wanted to wait to see how our talk went before she talked to you,” Y/n’s dad added.
“How’d that go?”
“Good,” her dad smiled, “Really well. Horrible, and then really great.”
Y/n smiled, looking down at her lap. “Yeah, I think I’d like both those things. Maybe I could bring you guys to a game.”
“Oh, we’d love that. We’d really love that. Is that American guy still coaching?”
“No, he left a few weeks ago,” Y/n answered.
“Huh, that’s a shame. Maybe I could jump in, give the guys some pointers.”
Y/n chuckled, “Oh, they’d love that.”
“Listen, I don’t wanna push my luck, so I’ll let you get back to packing,” her dad began to close the conversation, “Maybe we can talk more after you get back from your trip.”
He was right, it was a good place to stop. “Yeah, I’d like that. And if Mom calls, I promise I’ll let her grovel.”
“Attagirl,” her dad chuckled, “I love you, honey.”
Y/n smiled tearfully, the words she’d longed to hear all her life. Suddenly, it seemed so wasy to return them.
“I love you too, Dad.”
“Talk soon.”
“Bye.”
And with one click of a button, it was over.
Y/n felt stuck to her bed, nailed to it more like. All her life, she’d imagined screaming and yelling at her parents and it ending with them in tears as well, apologizing in spades to her and asking for them to forgive her. Her daydream had come true, though nothing like she’d thought it would. She was still, she was silent, and her father was more eloquent and composed. But both were filled to the brim with emotion. Somehow, it had all worked out better than she’d wanted.
Her family was coming back to her. The whole dang thing.
Y/n sprang to her feet, needing to word vomit the news onto someone. Jamie was closest. He was a good choice.
“Jamie,” she called, “Jamie.”
As she enterd into the living room. Jamie sported the same stunned expression she did. Had he heard the call?
They met in the middle of the room, each holding their own space. Each holding their cell phones.
“Who was that?” Y/n asked.
The words floated out of Jamie’s mouth slowly. “That was me dad.”
Y/n’s eyebrows dropped, along with her jaw. “Your dad?”
“Yeah,” Jamie breathed, his eyes flicking to Y/n’s phone, “Who was that?”
“That was my dad,” Y/n answered.
“Your dad?” Jamie echoed.
“Yeah.”
“What’d he say?”
“He wants to come see me. Him and my mom.”
“They do?”
“Yeah.”
Jamie’s face soured somewhat with apprehension. “And…what do you think?”
There was so much news to process. Still, Y/n’s purest emotions won out. Her lips quirked upwards, “I think I feel good. Really good.”
Jamie managed a distracted smile, “Good.”
Y/n shifted focus away from her. “What did your dad say?”
“He, uh,” Jamie breathed, “He’s in rehab, I guess. Wanted to call and congratulate me on the win. Wants me to come and see him.”
Y/n’s eyebrows shot up, “Whoa.”
“Yeah,” Jamie said.
“How do you feel about that?”
He blew out a huff of air. Jamie had just as many complicated feelings on his dad, if not more, than Y/n. And yet this time, there was some sort of peace that told Jamie this was alright.
“I think I feel good.”
“That’s good,” Y/n exhaled, “Do you want me to come with?”
“No,” Jamie quickly said, “I don’t want you near him till I…till I make sure it’s real this time.”
Y/n wasn’t about to start arguing with him. “Okay.”
The two of them finally looked at one another, well and truly, and saw each other transformed. If Richmond was one piece of what Y/n and Jamie were made up of, their relationship the other, their jobs the third, there’d been a missing fourth piece, empty and void of any love, for years. Suddenly, with but a drop filling it, there was new life in both of them. They stood a chance at becoming complete.
They fell into one another’s arms, wrapping around one another in hopes they could hold each other together. This was the beginning of something truly beautiful for both of them.
In the weeks and months that followed, after the trip to Brazil, things began to bloom. Jamie did go and visit his father, coming back with a genuine smile on his face. Y/n didn’t push, but Jamie felt confident that his father was making progress and that maybe, just maybe…they could form a relationship.
Y/n’s mom did indeed call, groveling and weeping over how poorly she’d treated her daughter. Y/n was there to accept every apology and cry with her. It was the best conversation they’d had in years. Her parents and Caylee jumped on for their first three-way call ever. Y/n made plans to come back home for Thanksgiving, and her parents and Caylee promised to fly to London for Christmas. It was the first holiday season they’d be spending together since high school. They were all counting the days down.
A few months after the season started for Richmond, Beard and his very pregnant girlfriend, Jane, announced they were getting married. The whole Richmond clan gathered together at Stonehenge for the event. It was strange, in keeping with their relationship, but full of love.
Eventually, Keeley came to Y/n with a business proposal. She had an inkling of an idea that she wantd to bring to Rebecca. But she wanted to give Y/n the opportunity to help her with it. The second she read the idea, Y/n was floored, and immediately onboard. Together, the two of them proposed a Richmond women’s league to their boss. It was an unflinching yes.
“But I have a condition,” Rebecca said before pointing to Y/n, “I want you to oversee it.”
Y/n blinked, “What?”
“I think you have a great deal of untapped potential,” Rebecca smiled, “And I think you’d make an incredible football club owner.”
“I-I…there’s no way. Unless you’re selling the team and I-“
“Nonsense,” Rebecca shrugged, “You bought a share, didn’t you?”
Rebecca had decided against selling the team off entirely, instead giving Richmond fans the opportunity to buy shares of the club.
“Well, yeah, I own like…half of a half of a percent.”
“Consider that your purchase,” Rebecca looked to Keeley, “What do you say? Is it okay if I poach one of your employees?”
Keeley was beaming from beside Y/n, “I’d be disappointed if you didn’t.”
Y/n wasn’t sure what was happening or how it was happening so fast. It felt eerily similar to a year prior in a London restaurant.
“What do you say?” Rebecca smiled, “Do you want to run a football club?”
Despite her shock, it was one of the easiest yesses she’d ever given.
Jamie had been thrilled, obviously, spinning Y/n around his house when she’d told him the news. One of Jamie’s biggest fears was losing all the good things in his life. Even though he knew him and Y/n were solid, a job like that was guarantee that neither of them would be leaving Richmond for a very long time.
All was well, no, all was better than well, for the Greyhounds. Sam’s restaurant flourished, Nate brought his girlfriend round finally to be introduced to his work family, Keeley and Roy began skirting the borders of exploring the possibility of maybe getting back together…all was as it should be.
Y/n was nearly in tears contemplating the beauty that was her life one night as Jamie drove them back to her place. Higgins’ and his family hosted the team barbecue that month at their home and the whole staff had shown up. Keeley, Roy, Jamie and Y/n had stayed in a huddle most of the night, laughing and talking as if they’d been family all their lives, which it was starting to feel like. Everything, from the smallest detail to the biggest, felt perfect.
“Hey, babe, what’s on the schedule for Friday night?” Jamie asked as they climbed the stairs into Y/n’s home. He was a few steps behind her. “Colin and Mike want to do a double date. I didn’t know if-“
He was rudely interrupted by Y/n smashing her lips against his. Jamie adjusted quickly and sunk into the kiss with her.
After Y/n pulled back, Jamie admired her. “What was that for?”
There were ten different answers she could have given him. For knocking into her that first day of work. For sitting down with her that night at the pub. For being the steadiest presence in her life. For forgiving her when she broke his heart. For supporting her and supporting her and supporting her. For adding to her happiness in a way nobody else could.
But instead, she shrugged and smiled. “No reason at all.”
And for the first time in her life, Y/n was truly, wholly happy.

IBAI x PEDRI - January 2, 2024 (summary)
He’s doing okay but things are a bit tough at the moment
He spent Christmas at home in Tenerife with his family
They play 'Suika Game' a lot in the dressing room (but on the phone and not the PC because it's free there lol)
He laughed a lot with Piqué in the dressing room. Piqué didn't really like training sessions but he was very good in the matches
Have you ever looked at Pique and thought that if you wanted to, you could dribble past him 7 times? - "Yes (laughs)"
Ferran has supported him a lot and is always there for him
Ferran takes the shark mentality very seriously, so Pedri gave him some shark slippers and now Ferran wears them in the dressing room
He tries to help Gavi every day because he knows what it's like to be injured for a longer time and he's confident that he will come back in great condition
Pedri does pilates now after Puyol recommended it to him
Pedri has Aleix García in his Fantasy team (his brother is first, he is second)
He rarely uses Twitter, he uses Twitch and TikTok more
They are behind Xavi 100%
In his opinion, Neymar looks good with every hairstyle
Girona are playing very well and he thinks that they could win LaLiga
Jordi Alba and Piqué were always fighting but that's how they got on. They just liked to fight lmao
Vitor Roque is wonderful, he is always happy, whenever Pedri sees him he is smiling
He doesn't like press conferences at all because they are a bit disturbing as all the journalists stare at you while you just sit there
In the Premier League, they are able to spend 80 or 90 million for players which is unbelievable. In La Liga, academies are what makes the difference
They don't really talk about the Super League in the dressing room
Boca Juniors or River Plate? - He's only watched one game and Boca won, so Boca
For Pedri, Busquets is the best No. 6 in history
His favourite player is Iniesta (in case you somehow didn't know that yet)
His favourite XI in history: ter Stegen, Jordi Alba, Piqué, Ramos, Alves, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo (after being forced by Ibai), Messi and Luis Enrique as a Coach (he changed out Ronaldinho for Neymar later)
Luis Enrique doesn't have What's App. If you want to talk to him, you need to send him an SMS
He was nervous when scoring the decisive penalty against Real Betis because the goalkeeper was a giant
Hardest defeat: penalty shootout against Italy (Euros 2020)
He supported Argentina in the WC final (for Leo)
He would like Haaland to sign for Barça (in his words "as a replacement for Lewy because he won't play for us until he's 60") and he also really likes Julían Alvarez (agent Pedri 👀)
His first friend at Barça was Trincāo
A dream: to win the Champions League and the World Cup
Before games, he likes to listen to slow Spanish music (Julio Iglesias? - "Maybe (laughs)")
His favourite singer is Quevedo (everyone act surprised please)
Vitor is only 18 years old, you cannot ask him to be the new Pele, but he has a lot of confidence from the club
He normally always stops for fans but there are always the same 5-6 TikTokers in front of the training ground so he sometimes doesn't stop if it's just them
He is rewatching Prison Break at the moment, even though he's seen it two times already. The first season is the best one in his opinion
He used to watch anime but not anymore
Kounde has the confidence to wear anything
They should listen to the players more because the calendar is so tightly packed right now and there are too many injuries
He would like to score more goals
He found scoring goals strange when he was younger because he never knew how to celebrate and all he did was run and look stupid
Ibai breaks his computer mouse and engineer Pedri tells him to plug it out and in again (Pedri indeed managed to fix it)
Favourite place in Barcelona? - Camp Nou ❤️
Ibai and Pedri played 'Guess these 100 Players' and Pedri guessed 94/100 right (and Pedri realised he doesn't know enough South American players)

If you have an interest in football, you may have had the opportunity to attend a live match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. If so, you might have noticed how the local fans, of either team, often whistle and even insult the opposing team every time they touch the ball, and with even more fervor if it's the star player of the rival team (currently Ronaldo or Messi). If they consider that player to be arrogant or if they have previously played for the other team (as was the case with Luis Figo), the boos are even more intense.
If you pause to think, you will see that this attitude directly stems from fear. Fear that the rival team may be better and win the game. Fear that Messi or Ronaldo might have a standout day and tip the match against our team. “Remember that unjust criticism is often a hidden compliment. No one kicks a dead dog!” as Dale Carnegie once said. And it’s true: people don’t fear the weak; they simply ignore them. That's why the level of anger or hatred decreases as the level of the opponent decreases, unless there is a historical rivalry, as is the case with Atlético and Real Madrid, or Espanyol and Barça.
In my case, I have never lacked haters. First, because I have always been competing for top positions. Second, because I have a strong character and have always said what I think, not what the fans or my rivals want to hear. In that sense, I am not as well-liked by the majority as other more reserved riders.
Unlike countries like the United States, where those who confidently display their success are applauded, in Spain, athletes who demonstrate great humility, who are part of a united family and stay out of trouble, both in competition and in their private lives, are more favorably viewed. In my case, especially at the beginning of my career, I behaved in precisely the opposite way that an "ideal" athlete should, so my detractors had plenty of reasons to channel their hatred (or fear) toward me.
“Casually,” most of the criticism came from some fans of my rivals. There are fans who simply support their rider, but others need to criticize or jeer at their rivals. It happened with Pedrosa when we were both in the 250cc, and the Spanish public divided into “Pedrosistas” and “Lorenzistas”. It happened with Márquez when he entered MotoGP, and I openly commented that he was too aggressive in overtaking. And since my debut in MotoGP, I have always faced it from the most hardcore Rossi fans, who since 2008 saw me as a threat to his reign, both in the MotoGP championship and in the Yamaha team.
After winning the 2015 world championship, these criticisms, insults, and jeers have become even more common, both at the world circuit and on social media. In Márquez’s case, who also began experiencing it that year due to the incident between Rossi and him, it may have been a greater emotional burden since he had always carefully maintained his image as the “ideal” athlete. Moreover, they were “friends”, and Rossi’s fans respected him and considered him, due to talent and age difference, the natural heir. All of that changed when Valentino started to “smell” his tenth world championship. To achieve it, clashes on the track between the two became inevitable. The situation became even more tense when in the press conference of the Malaysian Grand Prix, Rossi accused Márquez of deliberately helping me win the championship. From that point on, the two of us became enemies for the millions of 46 fans. In my case, because we always had a tense relationship and I was the rival who could snatch his long-awaited tenth world title; in Márquez’s case, supposedly for conspiring in my favor.
If you pay attention, the word “detractor” resembles “destructor”. It is related to destroying, eliminating, annihilating. How do the most radical fans attempt to “eliminate”, or at least weaken, the rival? By trying to get into their heads. By demoralizing them, sending negative messages like “you’re very bad,” “you have no personality,” “you’re not even in the same league as my rider,” etc.
Lately, when I check my Twitter or Instagram, in the comments on my photos, I see messages like these: “loser,” “go home,” “you can't tame the beast,” “take the money and run,” “retire, you're making a fool of yourself,” etc. After reading them, I have sometimes checked the recipient’s username. Curiously, the nicknames of these individuals always end with the same number.

omggg the Neymar thing about DR is SO true
esp as a Barca and Red Bull fan who saw and loved how great they both were, it's painful to see that neither of them achieved more
they both had the potential, they both made their respective sports more entertaining, and they both changed the way drivers and players were able to express themselves...
but they never got the glory.
sorry for the ranting lmao
MY FIRST EVER ANON ! IM CRYING 😭
they were full of glory back then! And they had sm hype too. Even if you didnt like Barca or Redbull they were so talented that they drew you in.
they did have potential, lots of it. And i think lots of things contribute to the ‘waste’ of it so thats why im gonna break it down i points
1. They both had their shine when there were even bigger stars. Like how Daniel rose to height when Redbull was focused on Max and how Neymar had his prime when Messi and Ronaldo where even bigger in terms of fame AND skill.
2. They were seen as ‘the other woman’. Like a second option. ( even though they were hella famous but still could’ve gotten more) IMO Daniel never got the praise he deserved because people (and redbull) where too focused on Max and Neymar was overshadowed by messi.
3. They didnt know how to manage it. Like how Neymar partied too much and got too greedy by choosing PSG. Or how Daniel moved to Mclaren and lost (almost everything). Now Neymar is in a saudi club and Daniel is completely retiring.
I feel really bad for Daniel, as Redbull are still keeping that fuckass perez and the situation is completely out of his control.
Whereas for Neymar i think the partying and scandals ruined him and his ‘potential”
This was soooo fun and I loved it! Yall cant rant about anything anytime at my asks 🫶🏻🫶🏻

I’m not that old either but I am 24 and I remember in the early 2010s when you would say that you preferred Ronaldo over Messi and you were a girl you always had to deal accusations from boys who mostly support Barcelona that you chose Ronaldo only because he is handsome and that you have no idea about football 😂
omg yeah i know about that, but even now girls still get those accusations, nothing changed 😭
as a barça girl i always used to get those accusations with bartra, rafinha and later neymar, and when they all left my guy friends expected me to leave with them lmao

i know that barça screwed m/ssi over and that his fans have every right to be pissed at that but i can't help but feel that the number of m/ssi fans and the number of barça fans is so disproportionate.
i love him but a part of me didn't want him back because of his fanbase, particularly the ones who hate barça. our youngsters are already under so much pressure and i don't want them being blamed and hated on for not being like the prime teams that m/ssi had in the past.
I believe you're far from being alone in this stance, anon! The sheer number of internet crowd that Ronaldo or Messi can drain is akin to the swifties or other internet phenomenon : it's lot of users that can together act quite dumb. Any crowd existing erases any nuances the people composing them, as individuals, could bring to discussions. I myself consider that what happened in those years is nothing less than disgraceful - from Luis Suarez's treatment and how Neymar's millions have been handled by Bartomeu, to how one of our biggest club legend has been fucked over by the board, and more specifically Laporta - who remains first of all an ex-lawyer and a politician - in an utterly shameful manner. Meanwhile, I believe that Laporta genuinely cares about the club (I might be wrong since as mentionned previously, he's a politician, but being from the city itself and everything, for now I do believe a genuine care to exist, mingled amongst politics, personal ambition and co) and most probably saved it from a dire wreckage ; so there you go.
Essentially 1) indeed that'd have been a problem, esp with the youngsters being more connected online and more susceptible to stumble upon those senseless criticism springing out of twitter 2) the outweight of what he could have brought to the team, being an experienced football player, having grown up within the club and knowing it as well as he does, good relationship with the coach and being the at the level that he is. Thinking specifically about the passes/vision dev. with Pedri, relationship with Gavi whose rage/energy about the club/on the pitch reminds me a lot of young Messi, Yamal, etc.
So yeah, valid thoughts! At the end of the day though it's chill, a done deal : he's not coming back as a player, probably will for a farewell match and later on as a board member, and eventually all that "true culer" vs "solo stan" discourse (it bears repeating that this is a majorly online discussion - cf the chants for him all throughout last part of the season - and that, as we know, the contrast between online and reality is a crude one lol) will mean nothing down the line as time erases those asperities. At the end of the day whenever there's talk about Messi and Barça, I always like to step back and hightlight that beyond the brand the name "Messi" has become and all the anger/frustration/annoyance that can legitimately spring out of culés/others from the massive cult-like following that gravitates around it, there's a guy who, like Iniesta, Xavi, Puyol, Guardiola and other beloved players, came from our very own academy, repeatedly chose to gave said club - not without rocky moments btw, let's not romantize there - 95% of his career/talent, while standing at times surrounded by "prime teams" and at others seemingly utterly alone in shameful XI sides hanging on by a thread. His coming back could've been beneficial on some plans ; it could've been a disaster on others ; and honestly, talking about the multiple issues there comes with being associated to such a worldwide persona and the consequences it has on his relationship with the club/its fans is quite interesting and unique, since it's a phenomenon that I believe spawned from the social media age, and of which the only equivalent to Messi in that cult-following is CR7, who changed clubs quite regularly and didn't forge such a special connection with one. Thus LM10 really seems to be a quite specific case. Messi's stay at Barça was far from being a steady, quiet journey too, and I think it's always healthy to critize it as it's never alright to idolize anyone, as long as the bottom line - which is why I have a slight irk at some self-proclaimed "true culer" - remains : this guy is as much a culer as anyone sitting in the stands or watching on the TV, and for the amount of things he gave that club, probably more.
#anon ask#that said i'll always be so fucking bitter about him not getting to play with pedri again. there's the mf roman empire. i hate it.#messi

I don't want to seem like a toxic thought. I'm not even a Ronaldo fan and I'm just obsessed with Leo and Anto's relationship. But recently, I noticed something and that is that there are many fan pages who do not want to accept that there have been betrayals by Liu in the past. In 2011, there was a break-up that caused Messi to have his own immoral relationships, such as the story of his video chat with a model who were flirting. In 2013, he was seen in Miami with a stripper and there are many reasons that show that it is not Photoshop. In 2018, Antonella almost hesitated about their relationship, so that after the famous video of Leo with Kun Aguero, he changed his profile picture without Messi, and then close sources said that Messi cheated on her while being in the national team camps. Also, many girls pointed out that Messi is a cheater, which can be completely true considering all the previous scandals. Recently, it seems that Antonella has a strong need for love, while we do not see this desire in Messi, he did not even mention his wife in his recent speeches, he barely hold her hand and it seems like he is forced to do that.nor did he kiss her, nor hug her, nor the beautiful looks he gives to Sofia Martinez… practically no love. it seems there is no mutual feeling between them… Why does the media want to show a holy picture of his personal life? He can also be corrupt in his life and relationships like Maradona, while being an unrepeatable legend. Why do all the media and fan pages support him?protect him? anyway i'm not a messi hater i just want to see them happy and in love but...
imma keep it real with you bud, i dont really care about all that lol. messi is a footballer and i mainly care about messi the footballer. idc what he does in his personal life as long as he doesnt harm anyone.
i’ve seen the alleged stripper pic and you can barely see the dudes entire face. as for the cheater accusations, its very easy for someone to make that allegation for some free publicity. most of what youre telling me sound like tabloid rumors lol.
and just because it *seems* like there is no mutual feeling to you doesnt mean there isnt! leo is a very private person, none of us have any idea what hes really like away from the limelight. with all due respect, i’d find something more entertaining to be obsessed about (like his incredible vision and ball control)

Cristiano & Lionel
I wanted to write a lil thing about a ‘debate’ which I’ve always found bizarre:
Who is better: Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi?
This discussion has baffled me for fifteen years or so, and I find it odd to understand why so many people compare these two soccer athletes. So I thought I’d offer my opinion on it.
Who is the most attractive supermodel on the planet? Bianca Balti or Kate Bock … Hmm. How would you rate something like physical attractiveness? Is this possible? Because isn’t such a thing [finding a person physically pretty] based on subjective interest? You could compare Balti and Bock with, perhaps, the amount of money they earn and the amount of fashion shows they’ve achieved, or similar things. But why would that even matter?
People endlessly compare Cristiano and Lionel objectively. As to how many goals they have, and trophies won. Football icons are powerful people. Because soccer as a sport is the most popular on the planet; because they are famous, wealthy and successful: and lots of the eight billion folks on the globe covet such attributes.
At the same time: many people have zilch interest in soccer. Doesn’t intrigue them; they couldn’t care less. Instead they’re interested in pop stars or movie actors.
So which actor is the ‘best’? Or who is the greatest band in pop history?
Well – if you were to look at the music example objectively, it’d hands-down be The Beatles. But many, many folks say they despise the Beatles: can’t stand them. If you were to judge who is the finest writer it’d be William Shakespeare.
To know Bill Shakespeare personally, you would have to invent a time machine and travel back 400 years and go speak to him in a grimy part of London, where the entire population of the city drank from the same river that they used to dump their sewage in. Bill would not be able to understand what you were saying. Because Old English had a totally different accent to how English is verbally used today. This man would also be about five foot tall.
Furthermore, Shakespeare was deeply unhappy, and you can see this in his sonnets; which is the only autobiographical information we have of him. He was just as vulnerable as any of us are, and had a personal life in tatters. But in the modern age we know almost nothing about a man who changed the English language, and whose quotes and quips we still use in everyday talk, perhaps without realising it. [Football pundits love to use the phrase ‘comedy of errors’ when the defenders get all clumsy in the lead-up to conceding a goal.]
Cristiano Ronaldo was a man who built, paid for and directed a museum for himself. I.e., he made a building/museum and funded it personally, to prove how great he is. Does this sound like a man who feels secure with his own ego?
If you were to go back to the history of the Premier League, and ask fellow footballers/managers who they thought was the best player. Paul Scholes was regularly the number one. Thierry Henry, Zidane and Vieira all said that he was the top player. And they were part of that French clique which won the World Cup, Euros – alongside the famous Arsenal side that were victors in all kinds of ways too.
Paul Scholes wasn’t a star in the glitzy sense of the word. Not goodlooking like David Beckham was; hated that sense of celebrity. But Ferguson [the most successful football manager ever] said he was the best midfielder of his tenure.
My whole point is that there are many contradictions and ironies within fields like sport or artistic achievement, and many clashing opinions which don’t seem to make sense if you look at them in an alternative way.
Do you know the Andrei Tarkovsky films? I looked at a list of fan-voted TOP 100 movies ever, from magazines like Empire and Total Film, and the internet movie site IMDb. Not a single Tarkovsky movie features in any of these lists. Thus we can assume that they are not popular in a mass sense?
There was another poll conducted by the BFI whereby they asked 400 of the top directors internationally what their favourite films were. Two of Tarkovsky’s movies made their top 10. Indicating that Tarkovsky is perhaps a ‘filmmakers’ filmmaker’: in much of the same way that Scholes was a footballers’ footballer.
When people say things like ‘Ronaldo is better than Messi’, is it not the individual who is making a fallacy? By saying person X is superior to person Y, this is essentially negative and minimalistic. The comment is supposed to be provocative and offensive, in order to undermine the abilities of an athlete which the commentator does not have. And most of it is subconscious.
There is no ‘best’ sports athlete. Even if you analyse it objectively, it’s not quite possible to label one man or woman who is the greatest ever. It’s just that people like that idea – of being the most superb, the ultimate gladiator, whatever you wish to call it.
Those who have a larger sense of knowledge in a particular field tend to answer differently to people who have a smaller knack of information. And knowledge is the key to harnessing a threatened ego. They will be less fearful of famous people because they are wiser, and such comparisons between figures are made trivial. In short: they won’t be as judgemental.
When a mind has a spanning resource of information it tends to not think between subjectivity and objectivity as black & white slates; rather looks beyond both of them and focuses on further intellect, because that is boundless and unlimited.
Please can we stop comparing Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi? It’s so tiring, and people have missed the point for such a long time.
Fallacies like status get lost in history and individuals with ‘greatness’ are only as scared as the rest of us. Of course it’s hard to be less afraid of other people. But with learning we can grow a bit, expand, and keep on being informed, rather than judging others.

If you’re a fan of Haaland you honestly wouldn’t talk about him the way you do. He’s breaking records left right and center in his very first season in the PL and all you do is call him a tap in merchant? If you had any real football knowledge you would know the way he scores is based on his teams play style and not on his lack of abilities to do anything else. Nah just say you prefer Mbappe and Messi and leave it at that. Messi (and Ronaldo) have been favored in the Bdor discussions for years lmao don’t act like Messi have ever been robbed of anything. The reality is no other players will ever get the same amount of Bdors than these two because the rules have changed. Of course we all know Messi will win it this year also so any discussion is a waste of time really. Only thing I’ll say is that if Haaland wins it it would be insanely well deserved. I don’t think he personally cares really bc he’s obviously focused on team trophies and nothing else.
I'm not going to sit here and prove to you my appreciation for haaland. What I am going to do is simply tell you that messi is and always will be my favorite player so when he won the FUCKING WORLD CUP I thought he was deserving of the Ballon d'Or.
I never even targeted haalands abilities because the pure fact is that most of his goals are tap ins. And he is IN FACT a tap in merchant and trust me when I say, he knows it too 💀💀💀. It only is a "insult" if you make it out to be.
You also seem to have completely missed the part where sentiment, legacy, and narrative play a part. If we're going by stats, then haaland all the way. I'll be the first person to scream and shout when haaland scores. And ffs stop questioning my football knowledge 😭💀. It's embarrassing

“The other thing that takes a lot of time is the girls! There are always a lot of girls at every Grand Prix, but a lot of really young girl fans come to see me in Italy, 12 and 13-year-olds. I prefer older girls who are real fans of me as a racer – not teeny-boppers.” (Italian GP 1998)
“I have to say I don’t like leaving home to go racing at this time of year - there are too many beautiful girls around where I live, and they don’t wear so many clothes during the summer.” (British GP 1998)
Even back in his 125 and 250 days his infectious enthusiasm was breaking the sport to whole new audiences, amongst them the Valenteenyboppers, gangs of Italian schoolgirls drawn to racetracks by their heartthrob's pretty blue eyes. Valentino doesn't appreciate that kind of attention because he's a bit of a biking purist. “They're not fans of Rossi the motorcycle racer, but just because I've got blue eyes, I don't like,” he says with faint exasperation after years spent fleeing these seething ranks of moist, pubescent Latin lovelies. “It's good to have one or two nice girls chasing you, but not one thousand.” That's what he says, but you wonder if he really means it once you've been inside his motorhome, watching him and constant companion Uccio Salucci giggling madly as they field lewd text messages from female admirers.
Mat Oxley: It was Imola ‘97 that I realised he’d become a superstar – his fans covered half the hillside on the pit straight, so he was already more popular than Doohan and Biaggi. You’d go to his motorhome and there’d be 20 teenage girls hanging around outside, even though he had a girlfriend at the time. Uccio: We really enjoyed having so many girls around! Maybe some top riders or superstars worry “Is this girl coming to see me because I’m famous or does she really like me?”, but Valentino didn’t think like that, he always said “I don’t care why she’s coming, I’m just happy that she is coming!”
Of course, with the late nights came the girls, and Valentino was getting through them at a rate. One of the few big-name riders to count himself ‘single’, he had finally copped onto the fact that he’s young, rich and the ladies love him, so, why on earth would he want to go steady just yet? As Italian MotoGP mover and shaker Carlo Pernat says: “I've never seen so many girls around a rider, maybe Barry Sheene or Marco Lucchinelli (500 world champ in 1981) but never so many. Valentino doesn't like to stay with a girl more than two or three months. He still lives like a kid now, with the same friends, the same way of life. After the racing is finished it's impossible to find him, no one knows where he goes, maybe he's in London, maybe he's in a disco with some friends he's known since he was a boy. He never changes, he doesn't want to be famous, he doesn't want a movie star girlfriend, he doesn't want to be in the papers with famous people.”
Valentino excuses himself by insisting that long-term girlfriends don't fit the GP lifestyle. “I brought a girlfriend to the Barcelona race but now is finished,” he said midway through 2003. When you make this life is very difficult to have a girl. If you bring her to a GP maybe she's bored, so I stay alone at races, is better. Then when you stay one week at a racetrack, you come back home and you have some power to use, you need to have fun, go out with friends, go to the disco, but your girlfriend has just stayed one week doing all this kind of stuff, so when I come home, she say ‘can we see a movie?'. So is difficult.”
Q: Did the life of a boyfriend change him? Graziano: I don't think so, he keeps going dancing, but with his girlfriend.
Who would the MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi invite at dinner from the sports world? The Italian answered this question in an interview with Blick. “That's where I would call Roger Federer. We already had this pleasure in Portugal in 2006, but it was a long time ago. I do not know Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi on a personal basis, even if I would be interested at those two. Outside the world of sports, I would prefer a beautiful woman! When I was younger, I was loving the actress Angelina Jolie so much. But now she is old, like me (laughter). So I'd pick Scarlett Johansson. Having a nice woman next to me would be better than Roger!”, he said laughing.
“The first ride with the M1 was like going on a date with a new girlfriend: it's more exciting than having ice cream with a new girlfriend than having sex with one you've been dating for years!”

Some All Might stans are really obnoxious. “Endeavor will never be Toshi!” No shit, that’s the point of his character arc. I think they’re sour over Endeavor (and his family) taking priority and getting better writing than the OFA/AFO plot in Acts 2 and 3. I can’t fault the bitterness but as a fan of both it can get annoying how much they revel whenever Endeavor is “not Toshi”.
I'm honestly starting to get fed up with the "hot takes" I see from a lot of the fandom lately. And how they love basically making the Todorokis and even Hawks the punching bag for all of Hoshikori's writing decisions. So despite this being news to me, I can't say I'm surprised that this is making the rounds now.
I also have to wonder whether these so called fans are reading the same story as the rest of the people. I mean *Toshi* himself addressed that exact topic during the provisional license and Overhaul arc. Did we all mass hallucinate the scene where Toshi and Enji are talking about what it takes to be a number one and how to go about it?!?! How Toshi gives Endeavor the advice to take his time and figure out what works for him?
And how Endeavor takes the advice to heart and changes his approach to be as collaborative as possible instead of being the pillar that All Might was? That was the whole point of him fighting alongside Hawks, involving the other heroes and facing the war together? Or is it like Goncharov? You can't have both. It either happened or didn't.
Also, it is only natural that Toshi would step back. His arc is more or less done and it was a well written arc, in my opinion. It was what made me love and break my heart for the character. Just like how Endeavor's arcs have made me a die-hard fan of his.
They are two different men, making the mistakes that they did because they thought they were making the right choices, good or bad. But at the end of the day, they did what they did because they cared that much to contribute to the betterment of society. They are the same coin, just different sides.
To use a football analogy: It's like Messi and Ronaldo. Or in hockey: Crosby and McDavid. They both have skills, but apply it in different areas. Neither will be mistaken for the other and all parties know that.
And you can be a fan of both sides and be critical, but the way that these people are acting it makes me wonder if they really are fans like they claim.
Kind of odd that the so called faction of fans fails to see that.
Sorry for the wall of text, but yes, I agree that this is getting quite frankly ridiculous and out of hand. This is starting to make me rethink and re-examine what I liked about the story in the first place and to better curate my experience in the fandom, cause damn bro.
