ik u didnt need all that extra stuff IM SO SORRY _!!£_;(3(£!£(£(££

I'm sorry, I just found out how to put on annon. I hope you enjoy the mashup.
Also I apologize Jumin might be slightly ooc in this
The Mystic Messenger character I give you is...
707! (Luciel Choi)
-It's been about two months since you've join RFA
-And those two months consist of, party planning, playing LOL with Yoosung, and 707 trying to get in touch Elizabeth The 3rd
-Everything is the same as it was when you first joined the RFA
-Or close enough
-The week before the party, 707 was made aware of the app being hacked. He was working all day and all night to figure out who was hacking, and how
-But a day before the first party, he said he knew who is hacking the app, yet he wouldn't tell anyone who it was
-Not even Yoosung
-The day of the party, Seven couldn't make it
-As worrisome this was, everyone told you not to worry
-"This happens to him sometimes." Jumin would tell you "He gets too caught up in work and won't take a break. We can't do much."
-Ever since he found out who the hacker was, he was off
-Like he wasn't fully there
-All he did was burry himself in work
-"Sorry Miel, I'm too busy with work today.." "Miel, maybe we can hangout another time.." "I got work today-"
-You've decide to get the 707 you knew back
-"I'm really sorry Miel I-" "Seven can we talk about something?"
-707 went silent
-"Well-you see, I haven't heard from you for a week now. No call, No text. I'm worried about you."
-You let out a sigh, "I just don't want you to hurt in silence, I love you and it hurts me to see you like this." you didn't mean to say that much, but maybe that would help get your point across
-"I didn't think you felt that way." that was all 707 said before hanging up
-Later that night, Seven called again but this time telling you some of his worries
-You open up to him about some of your worries
-over a course of two months, you and seven shared everything
-Seven told you about his brother and how he think he failed at protecting him
-You tell him things about your family and that he will always have a home with you
-It took awhile but Seven went back to how he was, Happier than ever! :D
This took longer than it should to write, so sorry about that.^^
I just had a lot more to say since I had a mystic messenger phase all 2020.

Since Taylor released “You All Over Me” last night and also posted the “Love Story” remix lyric video that includes a group picture with Emily in it, I am reposting this from my other blog (because at the time I posted it my other blog was too new to show up in the tags). I’m not necessarily saying that YAOM is about Emily...
Anyway, here is a post about “Breathe” and how it is the only Grammy nominated song of Taylor’s that she has performed just once:
Prior to Lover Taylor had 9 Grammy nominated songs (that appeared on her own records): “You Belong With Me”. “White Horse”, “Breathe”, “Mean”, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”, “Begin Again”, “Shake It Off”, “Blank Space”, and “Bad Blood”.
According to Taylor herself, despite multiple requests from fans over the years, she has only sung “Breathe” live one time. She performed it for the first and, so far, only time on August 18, 2018 during her reputation Stadium Tour show in Miami.
I decided to compare this to how many times she has sung her other Grammy nominated songs (I chose not to include anything from Lover or folklore because she obviously hasn’t had the opportunity to perform those songs as she normally would):
(Disclaimer: the data related to the number of times Taylor has played each song comes from setlist.fm, so it may not be 100% accurate, but it is close enough to demonstrate the purpose of this post)
“Breathe”
Date of release (as a single): October 23, 2008
# of times Taylor has performed this song live in total: 1
“White Horse”:
Date of release (as a single): December 9, 2008
# of times Taylor has performed this song live in total: 137
“You Belong With Me”
Date of release (as a single): April 26, 2009
# of times Taylor has performed this song live in total: 381
“Mean”
Date of release (as a single): March 13, 2011
# of times Taylor has performed this song live in total: 196
“We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”
Date of release (as a single): August 13, 2012
# of times Taylor has performed this song live in total: 272 (that # includes 1 time she performed the song as a mashup with “Bad Blood” and 53 times as a mashup with “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things”)
“Begin Again”
Date of release (as a single): October 1, 2012
# of times Taylor has performed this song live in total: 75
“Shake It Off”
Date of release (as a single): August 18, 2014
# of times Taylor has performed this song live in total: 189
“Blank Space”
Date of release (as a single): November 10, 2014
# of times Taylor has performed this song live in total: 166
“Bad Blood”
Date of release (as a single): May 17, 2015
# of times Taylor has performed this song live in total: 141 (that # includes the 53 times she performed the song as a mashup with “Should’ve Said No”)
As you can see, there is a pretty glaring disparity between the number of times she performed the other 8 songs live compared to the 1 time she performed “Breathe” live.
The song was released as a promotional single in the lead up to the release of Fearless, but wasn’t really a main single. It never had a music video, which means that it was probably never meant to be pushed for the charts. Although, it did spend one week on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at #87 on the week ending November 29, 2008, following the release of Fearless.
The song was co-written with Colbie Caillat, who also features on the track. Colbie was fairly popular at the time, in particular her debut single “Bubbly” had been very successful the previous year. So, you might think Taylor’s team/label would have wanted to push this song a bit more, but for some reason they didn’t.
The song seemed to be received well by critics too. There were obviously plenty of people who thought the song was good enough to earn a Grammy nomination. Although, it did end up losing to Colbie’s other, more commercially successful collaboration (“Lucky” with Jason Mraz).
So, it has been established that the song was released as a promotional single, it was nominated for a Grammy, and it was a collaboration with a popular (at the time) artist. These three factors combined might make someone wonder why she didn’t perform this song live until almost 10 years after its release. Just to reiterate, Taylor performed “Begin Again”, the song she performed second least out of this list, 75 times compared to the 1 and only time she performed “Breathe” in 2018.
This brings me back to the point that all of these other songs have a music video and were pushed as singles, whereas “Breathe” was only a promotional single and never had a music video.
Perhaps it would be fairer compare “Breathe” with the other promotional single Taylor released in the lead up to Fearless (I am excluding “Change” because it does have a music video and was used during the 2008 Olympics):
“You’re Not Sorry”
Date of release (as a single): October 28, 2008
# of times Taylor has performed this song live in total: 124
Yes, that’s right. Taylor has performed “You’re Not Sorry”, a song that got about the same amount of promotion as “Breathe”, well over 100 times.
Fearless was Taylor’s sophomore album and it was her first tour as a headliner. She had two albums worth of songs, plus a handful of others, to choose from. “Breathe” did not make the setlist. The only other song from Fearless that was not a part of the main setlist for that tour was “The Best Day”, a song that she performed live 6 times between 2009 and 2018, including twice during the Fearless Tour.
So, “Breathe”, again, was:
co-written by and features an artist who was popular at the time
released as a promotional single
nominated for a Grammy
never performed live before August 18, 2018
Which begs the question, why did she wait so long to perform the song live?
It has pretty much been established that the song is about Taylor’s original fiddle player, Emily. Taylor has never named names on this one, but most Swifties, even non-Gaylors, think the song is about her. Colbie Caillat basically confirmed this longtime fan theory in an April 2020 interview, where she says that Taylor “was writing about something she was going through with a band member at the time, and she was pouring her heart out about it”.
Taylor did say in the “making of” video for “Breathe” that the song is about a friend:
“It was total therapy because I came in and I was like, ‘Look, you know, one of my best friends, you know, I’m gonna have to not see anymore and is not gonna be part of what I do and it’s, like, the hardest thing to go through.’ It’s, like, crazy listening to the song cause you’d think it would be about a relationship, but it’s really about, like, losing a friend and, like, having a fallout and just the loss…”
She also adds:
“It’s never specific as to why. That’s my favorite thing about it. It doesn’t talk about why or whose fault it was cause sometimes the hardest time and way to say goodbye is when it’s nobody’s fault. It just has to stop.”
But, again, I’m pretty sure that Taylor herself has never said that it was about Emily. The official story is that Emily left the band to attend law school, but there is a rumor that she was actually fired. More specifically, the rumor is that she was fired when the true nature of their relationship was discovered.
This is all old news to Gaylors, of course. I said in my first post for this blog that I would not go too far into this theory due to the fact that Emily was 21 when she was hired and Taylor was only 16 at that time. I do think it is possible that Taylor had strong feelings towards Emily and maybe those feelings were unrequited or maybe they were reciprocated. Either way, perhaps someone found out somehow and the fallout was Emily getting fired.
It is also not improbable that Emily decided that she didn’t really like being on the road or the business side of being a professional musician and wanted to pursue a different career. If that was the case, then I do wonder why Taylor felt the need to repeatedly sing “I’m sorry” at the end of “Breathe”.
The only thing that would make sense, other than a potential firing that Taylor somehow felt responsible for, is that they had a fight when Emily broke the news to Taylor that she was going to leave the band. Hence, Taylor feeling the need to apologize so profusely.
Even if that is the case (here is where I project a bit/draw from my own experience), it still seems, to me, like Taylor felt a deep connection to Emily that might have blurred the line between platonic and romantic feelings. Maybe Emily is the first woman that she had those feelings for (ignoring “Angelina” and “Me And Britney” for this point) and so when she left it hit her really hard. Thus, she couldn’t bear to sing about it, even by the time the Fearless Tour started almost a year and half later.
That is all speculation, of course. Still, I can’t help but wonder why she would let almost an entire decade go by before she decided to sing a literal Grammy nominated song on stage for the first time. Especially considering the fact that she has performed all of her other Grammy nominated songs well over 100 times, aside from “Begin Again” (which she has still performed 74 times more than “Breathe”).

My Reading List for 2020
It’s no secret 2020 has been a challenging year. While upon reflection, I found it to be surprisingly full, like many of us, I still spent the majority of my time at home. One benefit of our new socially-distant stay-at-home culture was the amount of reading I managed to accomplish. Just like previous years, I’ve compiled a list of the books I’ve read over the last three hundred and sixty-six days, and as always, I want to share them with everyone.
This year was hit-or-miss for me reading-wise. There were books I loved and many books I ended up loathing. I found books I know I will re-read and proselytize, but they were often mirrored by other books I hate-read. I also found myself reading a few histories for pleasure, not something I normally do, and I dipped into science fiction much more than in previous years. Audiobooks (
) used to be the mainstay of my daily commute, and this year they became the soundtrack to housework. Not a bad tradeoff. Oh, and as always, I beta-read a couple of great books, and I’m excited to see where those go in the future.
This list correlates with my Goodreads 2020 Reading Challenge, but it always includes a few extra since Goodreads doesn’t let me count beta reading, and I don’t list comics or short stories or poetry (new this year!) over there. Remember, this is all strictly reading for pleasure—I typically forgo listing any research/history books I’ve read for a project as I read those differently than I do fiction. This list is always enormous, so l skip reviews except for my favorites in each category. However, I’d invite you to follow me on Goodreads, where I occasionally leave other reviews.
New for this year: with a few exceptions, most links now go to IndieBound instead of Amazon—2020 has been rough on small businesses, and now more than ever, be sure to support your local bookstore. When possible, I am now linking to each author’s personal website—if you’re on the list and I didn’t find your website, please let me know about it. (I won’t link to social media, sorry.)

Favorite Novel of 2020
In the Valley of the Sun
by Andy Davidson
This sun-baked vampire horror set in Texas unexpectedly became a new favorite. A surprisingly tense, character-focused narrative. Brutal. Anguished. Tormented. Bloody. Lyrical in ways that remind me of Cormac McCarthy without the weight. It’s not shy of confronting the cracked ugliness of humanity and finding the beauty between the fissures. Davidson is an incredible writer, and I immediately purchased his more recent novel after finishing In the Valley of the Sun. We need more horror like this.
Favorite Novel Runners-up of 2020
RADIO
by J. Rushing
A jazz-infused, opium-soaked, historical fantasy that explodes from the opening chapter and never relents until its final pages. A thoroughly fresh debut that’s unlike anything I’ve read before. Rushing brings his unique, well-researched world of 1920s Paris to life with a captivating voice. Don’t expect a saccharine overly-romantic version of Paris; this is a stained, broken, and bloody place—a welcome addition to modern fantasy literature. Jim’s a friend of mine, so be sure to read my interview with him.
City of Miracles
by Robert Jackson Bennett
In recent years, the Divine Cities have become one of my favorite urban fantasy series, mostly for its fresh approach to the genre, atypical characters, and serious exploration of themes oft-ignored within mainstream fantasy. With City of Miracles, Bennett wrapped up the trilogy with a heartbreaking yet thoroughly satisfying ending. This story is a bit tighter and more focused than the previous two while wrapping up various loose ends rather nicely. It’s rare to find a final book in a series that resonates with me as much as City of Miracles did—it’s easily my favorite book in the trilogy.
Honorable Mentions of 2020
I started doing Honorable Mentions in 2018 so I could highlight some of the other standout novels from my year of reading. Below you’ll find many more excellent books, I’ve listed them in order of reading.
Trail of Lightning by Rebecca Roanhorse A unique southwestern approach to post-apocalyptic urban fantasy.
Prosper’s Demon by K. J. Parker A subversive fantasy with a fresh voice and plenty of twists. Nice quick read.
The Crimson Campaign by Brian McClellan An excellent sequel, one of the best examples of massive and complex military operations in fantasy.
The Field of Blood by Joanne B. Freeman Phenomenal nonfiction detailing the history of violence in Congress leading up to the U.S. Civil War.
The Cipher by Kathe Koja Deeply unsettling transgressive horror that felt far too familiar. Visceral and enthralling.
Blood Standard by Laird Barron A dark crime/P.I. novel with a heart and a sense of humor. I will be reading more in this series.
The Iron Ship by K.M. McKinley Thoroughly fresh fantasy—huge world, great characters, interesting plot, unique setting. Nearly made my runner up list.
The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones Disturbing modern horror built around the experiences of first-nation people and the rural poor.
Clutter: An Untidy History by Jennifer Howard The history of stuff told from an all-too-relatable personal experience. Ended up buying a few copies for my family.
Seveneves by Neil Stephenson The moon is destroyed, and humanity only has a short amount of time to survive.
The Worm and His Kings by Hailey Piper Unique cosmic horror that explores gender identity, relationships, and poverty with a fresh perspective.
Short Stories
An Inhabitant of Carcosa …again. by Ambrose Bierce
And Now His Lordship is Laughing by Shiv Ramdas
How the Trick is Done by A.C. Wise
The Yellow Sign …again. by Robert W. Chambers
Ten Excerpts from an Annotated Bibliography on the Cannibal Women of Ratnabar Island by Nibedita Sen
Give the Family My Love by A. T. Greenblatt
The Dead, In Their Uncontrollable Power by Karen Osborne
The Masque of the Red Death …again. by Edgar Allen Poe
The Repairer of Reputations …again. by Robert W. Chambers
Paper Menagerie by Ken Liu
Seasons of Glass and Iron by Amal El-Mohtar
Tideline by Elizabeth Bear
Favorite Short Stories of 2020
The Dead, In Their Uncontrollable Power
by Karen Osborne
Generation ship! Class struggle! Religious ritual! Rebellion! Murder! Control! The complexity told within this genre-mashup was astounding. Such a rich world crafted in a way that feels effortless while maintaining a rich narrative was impressive. It’s no secret I’m drawn to stories that are hard to pigeon-hole into a specific genre, and that is fully represented here. Well worth a read.
Favorite Short Story Runners-up
Paper Menagerie
by Ken Liu
This heartbreaking story about magical origami, cultural identity, and family was the first piece of fiction to win a Hugo, a Nebula, and a World Fantasy Award. And after reading it, it was easy to see why. Touching and reflective. A masterwork of speculative short fiction.
Graphic Novels
Preacher: Book One by Garth Ennis (Author) & Steve Dillon (Artist)
Saga, Vol. 8 by Brian K. Vaughan (Author) & Fiona Staples (Artist)
Preacher: Book Two by Garth Ennis (Author) & Steve Dillon (Artist)
Once & Future, Vol. 1 by Kieron Gillen (Author), Tamra Bonvillain (Artist), & Dan Mora (Artist)
American Vampire, Vol. 2 by Scott Snyder (Author) & Rafael Albuquerque (Artist)
Paper Girls, Vol. 2 by Brian K. Vaughan (Author), Cliff Chiang (Artist)
Preacher: Book Three by Garth Ennis (Author) & Steve Dillon (Artist)
Die, Vol. 2 by Kieron Gillen (Author) & Stephanie Hans (Artist)
Favorite Graphic Novel of 2020:
Preacher: Book One
by Garth Ennis (Author) & Steve Dillon (Artist)
I didn’t expect to like Preacher. I bounced off the series hard when I was younger, writing off Ennis as a “blasphemous shock jock” and nothing more. But revisiting it as a middle-aged adult revealed a different sort of comic. The offensive transgressive material is still there, but beneath it is something much more—a book with more heart and humanity than one would be able to judge by its surface and laced with merciless satire that still rings relevant twenty-five years later.
Favorite Graphic Novel Runner-up of 2020:
Paper Girls, Volume 2
by Brian K. Vaughan (Author), Cliff Chiang (Artist)
Volume 1 nearly made my runner-up list last year. On the surface, it’s a time-jumping story about a group of friends caught in the middle of a future war. But beneath those sci-fi trappings, there is so much more here. It’s a book about being a kid and the expectations therein, complications with friendship, and the complexities of growing up. The characters are fantastic, and the story moves along at a clip, making it impossible to put the trade down. I’m ready for volume 3.
Poems
So this year, I’m including some of the poems I read in 2020. I hinted at doing this last year. But this is really a trial run. In reality, I read more poems than listed below, but I didn’t do an outstanding job keeping track of them. Because this is the first time for poetry on this list, I’m going to skip picking a favorite. Hopefully, I’ll be back on track next year.
Small Kindnesses by Danusha Laméris
The Peace of Wild Things by Wendel Berry
Beneath the Sweater and the Skin by Jeannette Encinias
The Woods by Melanie Batista
I Confess by Alison Luterman
The Waste Land …again. by T. S. Eliot
Near a Raven by Mike Keith
Insha’Allah by Danusha Laméris
We Lived Happily During the War …again. by Ilya Kaminsky
Christmas Greetings to Felis …again by H. P. Lovecraft …again.
Passing Solstice by Ken Hada
Winter Solstice by Hilda Morley
Childhood Memory from the Old Victorian House on Warner by Beth Cato
Raw With Love by Charles Bukowski
So that’s my reading list for 2020. It’s been an interesting year in reading for me. As promised, we now have a poetry section, and I hope to expand that in the future. There are some great poems there, so be sure to explore them further. Despite my ups and downs, I’m overall quite happy with the books, stories, graphic novels, and poetry I read over the last twelve months. They were excellent distractions from the chaos of the year, and it was refreshing to lose myself in other worlds. 2020 will be behind us soon, and I am looking forward to the worlds I’ll discover in 2021.
How about you? What were the standout books, graphic novels, short stories, or poems you read this year? I’d love to hear about it. Leave a comment and let me know!

☕️ on the male romantic partners in Austen’s novels pls
Okay, given the theme here I’m not so much doing general opinions as I am doing unpopular opinions, I suppose? Or at least, ones I don’t express super often, LOL.
Mr. Darcy: Okay, for fuck’s actual sake, KYLO REN AND OTHER VILLAINS ARE. NOT. DARCYS. I have seen your Reylo P&P mashups. I have seen your latching on to Eddie Redmayne saying they offered a script like Pride and Prejudice (which he was clearly using as an example, not a stated fact) when he read for Kylo Ren and gushing about how “THIS MEANS REYLO P&P IS CANON!!!” and I just… no. Stop. Fitzwilliam Darcy is a proud and slightly misguided man who, when Elizabeth rejects him, takes that to heart and works on himself. When he offers for Elizabeth’s hand a second time, specifying that his own feelings for her are unchanged, he notably tells her “one word from you will silence me on this subject forever,” i.e., he respects her agency and will not force himself on her. He could not be farther from the fucking war criminal mass murderer asshole that is Kylo fucking Ren. Thank you.
Mr. Knightley: So while I do respect this take and absolutely see why it’s a thing, I get a little frustrated with people who define Mr. Knightley as a “mansplainer,” as Autumn de Wilde recently did on the Emma 2020 press junket. I get it–his and Emma’s dynamic is not a great look today. Totally understandable. But I think dismissing him as a mansplainer lets Emma off the hook a little bit too much, especially when you consider the pivotal incident of Box Hill and just how cruel what Emma says really is. Mr. Knightley is within his rights to call her out on what she says, especially because he’s really the only one she’ll listen to. I get it–it’s 2020 and their dynamic could stand to have a few light revisions, especially in a modern context. But in the context of the time period, I think it’s fine. I also think sometimes people take the disgust over their age gap a bit too far. Again, I get where him knowing her as a child is weird, but for god’s sake, he wasn’t making advances on her when she was still a child.
Colonel Brandon: Okay as far as I know I have only ever seen this from one person but I swear to actual god if I ever see someone else compare Col. Brandon and Snape, other than their both being played by the (much missed, may he rest) Alan Rickman, I will fucking end you. Losing the love of your life to coerced sex work and consumption is not the same thing as your best friend severing contact with you because you called her a goddamn racial slur. Also, stop with the “he’s old and boring and Marianne def doesn’t love him!” crap. The book says itself Marianne never loved by halves and that she loved him wholeheartedly. Brandon is my favorite Austen hero (I will die on this fucking hill) because he’s compassionate, respectful, and humble.
Wickham, Willoughby, Crawford, etc.: Okay, my tag has always been “when people love the Austen douchebags the world makes a little less sense,” so we know where I stand on this. I hate them all. But like, seriously, for fuck’s sake, stop romanticizing them. Stop with your cutesy good Wickham fanfictions. Just stop. Wickham would be considered a pedophile by today’s standards. Willoughby gets young Eliza pregnant, abandons her all the while promising he’ll return, and DELIBERATELY NEGLECTS TO LEAVE HIS ADDRESS, then BLAMES YOUNG ELIZA for not figuring out how to contact him! He also slut shames her (”if I was a libertine, she must have been a saint”) and FUCKING STALKS MARIANNE by making sure he doesn’t come to the house while she’s in it while the Dashwoods are in London. Every time I see a gushing post about Willoughby, A PIECE OF MY SOUL DIES. And Henry Crawford… look, he’s not as bad as the others, fine. But like this post eloquently puts it, you expect Fanny to realize she liked the bad boy all along, but Austen wasn’t fucking here for that, and that is what I love (you heard me) about Mansfield Park. HENRY DOES NOT DO ANYTHING TO MAKE HIMSELF BETTER. You know that line in Friends where Joey asks Rachel to stick up for him to Phoebe and Rachel’s like, “and for the three days that we went out… he didn’t sleep with anybody else!”, that is how stupid it sounds to be when Henry apologists are like bUt hE wAiTeD fOr HeR. Oh my god, he did not do shit to deserve Fanny. Fuck OFF.
Edmund Bertram: I just said this before: I love Mansfield Park. It’s my second favorite Austen. I know literally no one gets that. But of all the Austen heroines, I relate to Elinor and Fanny most. The quiet ones, the neglected ones, the ones who’d rather watch everything play out than speak for themselves. And why I like Edmund so much–call him a stick in the mud all you want–is that like Brandon, he’s compassionate. The scene where he helps Fanny with her letter to her family when she’s young and nervous and doesn’t know what to do in such a huge and unwelcoming house is one of my favorites in all of Austen. Edmund takes the time and he listens to Fanny. He notices her when the rest of the family is at least neglectful and at worst outright abusive. And yes, he gets his head turned by Mary Crawford for a brief period of time and it’s frustrating, but I kind of hate how fandom pillories him for that. He’s human. He’s still the person who protected and looked out for Fanny all her life. That’s why he’s one of my favorites, no matter how unpopular he is at large.
Okay, the well runs dry here because the rest are not controversial at all, LOL. We all know Wentworth is the greatest (THE LETTER), Tilney is a goddamn delight, and Edward is… well, sweertheart, you’re a bit of a nonentity but we love you. (And Bingley is adorable and actually kind of unfairly neglected IMO! So, bonus opinion? Give me more Bingley!) And we all know where I stand when it comes to S*ndition. I don’t count S*dney as part of this list because he’s really an Andrew Davies creation and not an Austen hero as such, and tbh Theo James does nothing for me and not even having seen all of the show I’m team Young Stringer, the much more interesting option, what up.

September Forecast for Aquarius
Resist the back-to-school rush, Aquarius. This month finds you feeling more private and internal as the Sun grooves through Virgo and your intimate eighth house until September 23. Your energy is best focused on one particular person or project since Virgo season sharpens your powers of concentration. Of course, your naturally social personality doesn’t exactly operate like this. Adopt a “quality over quantity” metric and choose your RSVPs accordingly. You don’t have to be at every industry cocktail party or welcome-to-fall gathering—especially when the real “pumpkin spice” is likely to happen behind closed doors!
The eighth house rules all manner of merging, from soul-searing sex to joint financial ventures—unions that create a force field of power through your shared energies. Whether you reach “supercouple” status (think: Will and Jada, Barack and Michelle) or team up for world domination (like the “Steves” of Apple, Woz and Jobs), those are #goals for Virgo time. And they’re supercharged now because heat-seeking Mars, the planet of drive and ambition, is also in Virgo from August 18 to October 3.
Mars only visits each sign every two years, and this biannual boon could find you eager—even racing frantically—into a permanent engagement. Before you plunk your life savings into a piece of property or a cryptocurrency coin…or rush to City Hall with “the One” after dating for six months…know that the Sun and Mars together can tempt you to jump the gun.
Having inflammatory Mars in this intense zone of your chart isn’t necessarily easy. It can stoke envy, possessiveness and power struggles just as readily as it can bring you a lucrative financial deal or a soulmate encounter. You’ll need to manage the energy with care!
There’s even more reason to pace yourself, Aquarius. All month long—and exactly on September 21—optimistic Jupiter and hazy Neptune will make their last of 2019’s three dueling squares. Both are in ever-changing “mutable” signs: Jupiter is in its native soil of starry-eyed Sagittarius, and Neptune’s daydreaming in its home court of Pisces.
Jupiter and Neptune have been traveling in close contact nearly the entire year; they made two previous alignments in January and June. Under their influence, you’ll feel pulled between the practical and the fanciful, torn between your daily duties and a desire to dream big.
Expansive Jupiter is making its once-every-12-years trip through Sagittarius and your eleventh house of groups, the future and idealistic visions from November 8, 2018, until December 2, 2019. A collaboration may have taken flight under this transit, bringing opportunities to travel, grow or spread an inspiring message. Since the eleventh house rules technology, Jupiter’s auspicious touch may have enhanced your digital presence or led to an exciting launch. A chance to put your unique and innovative stamp on something huge—with a dream team to boot—is in the offing for the rest of this year!
The catch? A conflicting beam from nebulous Neptune in your money house may have left you short on funds or dealing with unclear budgets, timelines and practical details. This could make it hard to pull off your lofty vision, at least on the scale you imagine. A confidence crash could bring a wave of self-doubt at this month’s Jupiter-Neptune square. Your hyperactive social life could also contribute to your cash crunch. Have you spotted your friends or picked up the tab one time too many?
This month, Mars will wedge itself into the Jupiter-Neptune conflict, forming a T-square, which is a three-way battle for the throne. You’ll feel this tension from about September 8 to 18, and most strongly from September 12 to 14. The stress of a big expense or purchase could further exacerbate financial friction. A partner may also lean on you heavily now, which could zap your time or energetic resources. Your freedom-seeking side can feel completely claustrophobic and tempted to bolt. Unfortunately, your responsibilities are too deeply embedded to extract yourself from impulsively. While you may decide it’s time for an exit strategy, that might not be possible until later this year or next.
The key? Don’t lose your sense of humor or your creativity. While it’s important not to be impulsive, that doesn’t mean you should lock the muse in the closet and throw away the key. Nor should you stop yourself from enjoying fall festivities. Although you won’t have time for all of them (or even most of them), choose—or host!—a “party of the season” and really let your hair down.
This T-square tension will reach full tilt right as the September 14 full moon appears in Pisces and your grounded second house. This could bring a midmonth moment of clarity, a chance to prioritize and make an action plan. If you’ve been waiting for word on finances or work, you could finally hear concrete news. This full moon can also bring a confidence boost when you need it most. Don’t wait for other people to call the shots or make a decision for you. Be firm and self-authorized today, Aquarius and lean in to leadership. If nobody steps up to the plate then…tag, you’re it!
That said, dreamy Neptune IS hovering close to the moon, so you’ll still have your rose-colored glasses on. Make sure you haven’t swept any key details under the rug, especially when it comes to finances. The gift of Neptune’s presence? You can infuse any tough decisions or announcements with compassion. If you have to tighten your belt for a bit, you’ll find a way to keep pleasure in the equation! Your artistic innovations could also hit paydirt today. If you’re dropping an album, hosting a gallery show or bringing people together for that aforementioned “party of the century” gathering, this full moon could be a great day to do it.
Either way, you’ll be glad you got yourself grounded and streamlined because on September 18, structured Saturn wakes up from a four-month retrograde nap in Capricorn and your twelfth house of closure and healing. Saturn’s been making a long tour of Capricorn from December 2017 until March 2020 (with a final lap coming July through December 2020). You’ve done a lot of important inner work during this time, Aquarius—and you’ve probably gone deeper into emotional, spiritual and vulnerable places than ever before. Whew!
While there may have been some painful moments, you can also take stock of the resilience you’ve gained! Is there someone you still have yet to forgive, a resentment that’s poisoning you by carrying it around. Saturn helps you do the brave work. For artists and healers, this is a powerful time to establish yourself as an expert or to work with a mentor to gain mastery through a disciplined practice.
A taste of the freedom you’re craving arrives starting September 23, when the Sun soars into Libra and your ninth house of travel, expansion and adventure for a month. Now you can pull yourself out of tunnel-vision mode and see the big picture again. At the September 28 Libra new moon, start putting plans into action. Where would you like to be six months from now, at the corresponding Libra full moon? And what horizon-broadening experiences do you want to have between today and then? Get some bucket-list goals on the agenda, from launching your indie business to visiting a dream destination. Don’t limit yourself—explore all possibilities during this blue-sky month without holding back!
Love & Romance
With Mars blazing through earthily sensual Virgo and your erotic eighth house all month (until October 3), your seductive and sizzling superpowers are cranked up full blast. The red-hot planet hasn’t visited this chart sector for two years, and some Aquarians are making up for lost time! And with the other love planet, Venus, along for the ride until September 14, it really is a wonder you’re getting anything (else) done at all.
That’s not to say it’s been all fun and (naughty) games. Mars ratchets up passion but also increases competition, jealousy, tension and paranoia. Monitor your emotions as they arise and catch yourself before you go on the attack. Chances are you’re blowing up a molehill. If there are legit complaints, however, take the high road and initiate a calm, loving dialogue, perhaps with a mediator.
You might be feeling ready to make things permanent—or possibly you’re having the exact opposite sense, like it’s time to go your separate ways. This, too, deserves compassion and respectful conversations (e.g., do NOT send a breakup text!). Unattached? Lust might override your need for trust, and while there’s nothing wrong with following your desires, know what you’re getting yourself into because getting OUT of it might be trickier.
Venus advances to Libra and your adventurous ninth house on September 14 through October 8. The call of the open road may be irresistible over the coming weeks, and if you’ve got the time and funds, why NOT answer it? Romantic escapades await the wanderlust-y Water Bearer. You might even be open to a long-distance relationship or click with someone from a wildly different background than yours.
Key Dates
September 1: Venus-Saturn Trine This rare (twice-a-year) mashup of loving Venus and structured Saturn activates your most emotional and intuitive sectors. Find some time during the day to tune in, and you can get more lucid about your needs and desires, including what “commitment” looks like to you—and whether you’re ready for it in the first place.
Money & Career
Dive into the deep end of the pool, Aquarius With the Sun and motivator Mars in Virgo and your eighth house of research, merging and shared finances until September 23, this month is all about powerful alliances and transformational projects. The key will be to FOCUS! That could get tricky, though, since Mars is making a distracting angle to Jupiter and Neptune all month (hitting a peak on September 21). Competition from your thriving social schedule and daily duties could interrupt your focus. Plot some money moves at the September 14 Pisces full moon, which will illuminate your second house of work and financial gain. Update your resume with your most recent achievements. Put your name in the ring for a promotion or plum project.
On September 18, structured Saturn ends a four-month retrograde in Capricorn and your restful twelfth house. If you’ve found it difficult to complete projects since late April, or your energy levels have felt low, you’ll be able to make a plan for tying up those loose ends (finally!). Reach out for support or mentorship instead of trying to figure it all out alone. Optimism returns starting September 23, when the Sun starts a monthlong visit to Libra and your ninth house of growth, entrepreneurship and travel. Let a vacation be your motivation. Start saving for a trip to a beautiful (and budget-friendly) bucket list trip. If you’re a freelancer, make it a “work-cation”—have laptop, will travel— and head somewhere you can quietly develop your passion projects in a serene setting. Shake loose from your everyday surroundings and allow yourself to be inspired. The Libra new moon on September 28 could spark a visionary idea or a novel concept for a savvy startup!
Key Dates
September 6: Mercury-Jupiter Square Don’t believe everything you hear today. It’s not that anyone is intentionally trying to pull the wool over your eyes, but with expansive Jupiter adding a little elasticity to the truth, people may be slightly exaggerating their abilities or soft-pedaling the costs. Be agreeable, but before you say yes, tell them you need to see some hard evidence.
Love Days: 21, 25 Money Days: 1, 13 Luck Days: 28, 10 Off Days: 22, 27, 8

With the Hero Wave 1(2018-2019)and Wave 2(2019-2020)completed in Disney Heroes: Battle Mode, I decided to start production on a fanfic called Disney Heroes: Cyber Attack. The story is set to have a weird, yet romantically catastrophic, lore.
If you’re wondering if the Heroes in Wave 3(2020-2021)and Wave 4(2021-2022) will make an appearance in Cyber Attack, they won’t make their physical debut in this story in order to avoid a sudden 100+ appearance mashup, but will appear in another time. Some of them might be mentioned in Cyber Attack by other Heroes or NPCs, but that doesn’t mean I’m getting rid of them completely.
If I’m counting correctly, there are at least 86 heroes officially revealed(not counting the datamined ones for 2020, excluding Colette) and I guess it won’t hurt to put all of them in Cyber Attack.
*Wave also means roster. In this case, the 2018 and 2019 rosters of Disney Heroes are completed. The 2020 roster of Disney Heroes is about to begin, while the 2021 roster is in development.
The Disney Heroes: Cyber Attack story is located in a separate blog called @dhcyberattack.

July Forecast for Virgo
Make the rounds, Virgo! For the first three weeks of July, you’re in social butterfly mode. Dress up and see friends, go to parties and catch up with your social circles. The Sun is in Cancer and your outgoing eleventh house until July 22, heating up teamwork and technology. Connect with like-minded people, both virtually and in person, and combine your superpowers FTW. Get a digital project underway or spruce up your online presence.
The energy runs high this month because we’ve entered eclipse season again. Two of this summer’s three eclipses arrive on July 12 and 27, bringing boldfaced changes and turning points. Eclipses sweep in four to six times a year and remove anything that’s past its expiration date, flinging open the doors for a fresh start.
And on July 10, expansive Jupiter ends a four-month retrograde slowdown in Scorpio, igniting your third house of communication and local affairs. A savvy idea or creative collabo that got back-burnered this spring could pick up speed now. Bountiful Jupiter is visiting Scorpio from October 10, 2017, until November 8, 2018, a transit that only happens every 12 years. During this time, you’ve opened up to new friendships and hopefully become much more laid-back about going with the flow rather than rigidly planning (and then micromanaging) every last detail. With globetrotting Jupiter visiting your third house of community, many Virgos searched for new neighborhoods to work and hang out in.
In November, Jupiter will start a yearlong visit to Sagittarius and your fourth house of home, which could see you relocating or settling into a more permanent address. Until then, you might embrace the boho life and enjoy a nomadic summer. One Virgo friend of ours just signed up for a service called Trusted Housesitters, paying a small annual fee to couch-surf the world while she figures out her next permanent address. Considering a move? Hop around to some Airbnbs and experiment with daily life in locations you’re considering. This is the time to “try before you buy.”
On July 12, a partial solar (new moon) eclipse lands in Cancer, igniting your eleventh house of groups and digital ventures. Solar eclipses mark bold beginnings and can set us on a whole new (and unexpected) path. This is the inaugural eclipse in a series that will fall on the Cancer/Capricorn axis between now and July 2020 and initiate a wave of changes around your romantic relationships, friendships, creativity and online presence. Your social network and love life could look dramatically different over the next couple years. Ready to be “Internet famous”? You could link up with some trailblazing influencers or have an out-of-the-box idea that goes viral. The eleventh house rules the airwaves, from television and radio to the digisphere, and you could find yourself using any of these mediums to spread your message. Some Virgos will step into leadership roles as social justice frontrunners, a la your signmate, civil rights activist Shaun King.
This is the only eclipse from this group in 2018, and it’s a preview of changes that will really take flight in 2019. Still, it will be an intense start! On July 12, the Sun and new moon are exactly opposite power-tripping Pluto in Capricorn and your dramatic fifth house. Any eclipse-driven changes could be met with resistance from a jealous diva type who doesn’t like sharing the spotlight. Does someone in your life always seems to create chaos the minute the attention isn’t all on them? (Yeah, that person.) The annual Sun-Pluto opposition brings out people’s unconscious “shadow” side, provoking egos and domineering behavior. Paired with an eclipse, that can be heightened. Distance yourself from drama queens today and leave the online trolls alone, (especially!) if they push your buttons.
Ready for an escape? Take a respite from all of it on July 22, when the Sun slips into Leo and your restful twelfth house, kicking off a month of healing and completions. Tie up loose ends before Virgo season starts on August 23. You may feel sleepier than usual and simply not up for big crowds or energetically demanding projects. Conserve your energy and ramp up the self-care.
You’ll really want to keep those boundaries firm starting July 26, when your ruling planet Mercury nosedives into a signal-jamming retrograde until August 19, which can muck up technology, communication and transportation. Trains run late, phones and laptops die mysteriously, and people wildly misunderstand one another. Mercury will be retrograde in Leo and your foggy twelfth house, potentially creating a minefield of confusion and passive-aggressive behavior. Trying to get a straight answer out of anyone will be an exercise in futility.
Retrogrades ARE good for resolving issues from the past and reconnecting with people from “back in the day.” With Mercury reversing through your twelfth house of closure, you’ll especially enjoy nostalgic trips down memory lane. Look through old photos, visit elderly relatives or pick up a cast-aside project or hobby like playing an instrument or crafting. If you have some forgiveness work to do, this is a good time to process painful emotions that you’ve kept bottled up for so long, possibly with the help of a therapist or healer. The twelfth house rules the subconscious, so don’t be surprised if your sleep is interrupted by some vivid dreams or visitations from departed loved ones.
Also retrograde from June 26 until August 27 is energy planet Mars, which can further sap your already-depleted batteries. Until August 11, Mars is backing through Aquarius and your sixth house of health and organization. Even Virgos who are consummate planners could find it hard to keep on top of everything. Stressful Mars in this anxious zone can ramp up the tension, avoid multitasking or taking on projects that are sure to fatigue you. You could end up with a summer cold or burnt-out from exhaustion. Pace yourself and book plenty of healing appointments—and don’t forget to eat regularly (and healthfully!) to keep your blood sugar levels steady. Mars retrograde can make people accident-prone. Cut distractions—especially while commuting—and triple-check your work. If you’re physically active, know your limits so you can avoid any sports-related injuries.
One huge spotlight day around your wellbeing arrives on July 27, when a total lunar (full moon) eclipse lands in Aquarius, with Mars running neck and neck. You could make a sweeping lifestyle change, switching up your daily routines or eating or fitness habits, or dramatically exiting a confining and stressful scenario. Since the sixth house rules employees and delegating, you might cut ties with a service provider or majorly upgrade the people on Team Virgo. You could also reach a breaking point—probably a necessary one—wherever you’ve made sacrifices that aren’t in your own best interest or tried to control a situation in vain. Enough!
In our opinion, lunar eclipses feel more radical than solar ones, because full moons bring endings, transitions and full-circle events. This is the final Aquarius eclipse in a series that’s been touching down on the Leo/Aquarius axis since February 2017 and revolutionizing your approach to health and helping you find the right balance between control and surrender. Look back to the prior two Aquarius eclipses on August 7, 2017, and February 15, 2018, for clues of what might fully come together now. There will be one last Leo eclipse on January 21, 2019, which will close this chapter. Between now and then, continue releasing situations that don’t serve your highest good.
Love & Romance
You may have to work a little harder to find those lovin’ feelings this month. Aggro Mars is retrograde from June 26 to August 27, and until August 12 it’s in Aquarius and your nitpicking sixth house. This can drive up the tension and cause you or your partner—or both of you—to take the stress out on the other. It’ll be way easier to find fault than love, but hopefully forewarned is forearmed! When you slip into an anxious state or catch yourself overanalyzing every little thing, step back and look at things from a broader perspective. And definitely refrain from trying to “fix” a relationship or partner. Once Mars straightens out, things might sort themselves naturally, or you’ll be calm enough to discuss it like two civil humans who can give each other the benefit of the doubt.
Meanwhile, on the other side of your chart, Venus is in big-hearted Leo and your fantasy-fueled twelfth house until July 9. You might have a pair of rose-colored glasses permanently affixed to your face, giving everything a pink glow. This COULD be your idealist side poking through—or an unconscious urge to escape present reality. Either way, it’s a distortion, so strive to bring more awareness to your conversations and actions.
On July 9, Venus makes her annual entrance in your sign, restoring your groove in a big way! You’ll be in your sensual element, clear(er)-eyed and eager to bring a relationship onto terra firma. You’ll also be in a better position to make wise decisions, though with Mars still trying to micromanage things, you may feel an internal tug-of-war going on.
Venus will form flowing trines to innovative Uranus (July 11), structured Saturn (July 14) and transformational Pluto (July 27), all in thrill-seeking and fiery parts of your chart. The Venus-Uranus mashup gives you the long-range vision to see past the hurdles and identify potential opportunities where others only see the roadblocks. And when Venus connects to Saturn and Pluto, both in grounded Capricorn and your amorous fifth house, you’ll acquire the rare talent of being able to incorporate adventure and passion without destabilizing your life.
Key Dates
July 14: Venus-Saturn Trine With beautifying Venus in Virgo making a harmonious angle to “make it happen” Saturn, this might be the day you nail down some specific—and stimulating—plans for your shared future. Single? Treat your love life like any other project and commit to actions that will get you the results you desire. That could mean working with a love coach, downloading a new dating app or signing up for hobbies where you’ll meet like-minded people. Sure, it’s great to let Cupid work his magic, but if you throw him a bone, he’ll work that much harder.
Money & Career
Disorder in the Virgo court? It could be hard to stay on top of all the moving parts in your life now, as energizer Mars spends the whole month retrograde (backward) in Aquarius and your sixth house of organization and helpful people. You might need to revamp or upgrade some of your systems, especially ones that are outdated. But easy does it—FIVE planets will be retrograde at various points in July: expansive Jupiter (until July 10), communicator Mercury (July 26 to August 19), and all month, Mars, structured Saturn, foggy Neptune and strategic Pluto. Even if you want to rush into something, you’ll be forced to perform all the cross-checks and avoid cutting corners.
Mars retrograde could bring some upheaval to Team Virgo, especially when it joins up with the July 27 total lunar eclipse, a day that could see the sudden entrance or exit of a key person. You might just declutter in a way that makes Marie Kondo look slovenly. With all this activity in your micromanaging sixth house, you might be tempted to cling more tightly instead of let go. Note that this lunar eclipse could make your resistance futile, and struggling to fight the flow will only serve to drive you batty. Give up control of the wheel, Virgo, and let the universe drive.
One area of life that can go swimmingly now is networking. With lucky Jupiter powering forward in your synergistic third house on July 10 and an opportune Cancer solar eclipse igniting your groups sector on July 12, some vibrant and helpful people will enter your sphere. Get out and share your ideas with kindred spirits and interested supporters. The right people could clamor to collaborate. And while you’ll want to pick those players wisely—especially after Mercury turns retrograde on July 26—it’s a great month to take applications and vet all interested supporters.
Caution: Anything you launch is meant to be a joint effort, so if someone seems bent on making it all about them, steer clear. On the flip side, if you happen to be the creative force or “star” of this project, don’t be SO democratic that you give away undue credit. You deserve to see your name in lights for all your hard work!
Key Dates
July 12: Sun-Pluto Opposition Don’t provoke someone just to get a reaction out of them. That’s a recipe for a major disaster, and you don’t have time for games like that. If you’re not happy with the way your interaction is going today, table discussions for another time.
Love Days: 25, 30 Money Days: 10, 18 Luck Days: 8, 16 Off Days: 6, 14, 27
