an hour ago we got this order to program this part that i literally already did on monday and like thereâs no reason youâd have two of them so scott was like maybe you put the wrong program on it and thatâs why they need a new one and he was (nicely) grilling me about which file i used to program it and i told him the only info i could find was v8 and fan so i used the lufter directory and chose version eight, that was the only one in that folder so thatâs what i used and he called the customer and got more information and i was like beating myself up over the fact that i fucked up and caused more work for him and he called a german engineer for a second opinion and they both came to the same fucking file i did and he was like okay you were right, this isnât gonna fix their problem but just program it again with that file. so like good thing my entire self confidence isnât built around being right haha
#spoiler alert it is#personal#liveblogging work#rollercoaster of self worth today folk#s also it's funny bc the other programming job i did was also a repeat of the hard drive i did on monday#so like both programming jobs were just repeats in the same order of what i did on monday#a lot easier this time since i already have the files but still thought it was neat#also all the directories are in german that's where the guesswork comes in and that's why i thought lufter was right

If thereâs one thing Iâve learned
itâs that I canât manage to stick to one hobby for long. So why not just make a variety blog?
Todayâs theme:
Anime
Or more specifically, fall 2018 anime. Whatâs been good? Whatâs been meh? Whatâs been just awful? (Just kidding we donât talk about that last one.)
Run with the Wind
I knew this would be near the top of my list in the first few minutes of the first episode. When Haiji asks âHashiru no suki ka?â and Unison Square Garden takes it away... I just, oof. I knew Iâd watch this one to the end.
But for those not immediately sucked in by the first 2 minutes, what the heck is it?
Run with the Wind is a show about a rag-tag group of college guys who have been gathered together in a mad attempt to run the Hakone Ekiden, a big olâ relay marathon type race in Japan which afaik is a Big Deal TM. These dudes generally have little experience running, so it seems ludicrous that they could accomplish such a feat, but thatâs honestly not what matters.
Like running itself, itâs every step you take along the way that matters, not the finish line. These are good boys (plus one very good dog) who are just doing their best to improve. Skepticism gives way to hope as you see these boys progress and come together as a team. There are of course challenges along the way, clashing of ideas, and even rivals and potentially some big dramatic twists. That last part I just figure is coming based on what Iâve seen so far.
Of course the show also looks great. The style reminds me a lot of Haikyuu which I super enjoyed (itâs actually the show that got me into sports anime)! Sometimes you can tell CG models are used, such as when there are just way too many runners on-screen at once, but tbh they look fine. CG has come a long way and the technique is used pretty sparingly in this show.
The characters are great. Everyoneâs got motivations for taking part (or not taking part) in this race. Theyâve all got their own personalities and struggles in this, and you can probably find yourself in at least one of them at some point in the show.
So yeah, Run with the Wind. I highly recommend it.
Next up...
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
Oh no, another isekai?! Oh yes, another isekai!
Lately Iâve been giving a lot of isekai shows a chance and have been pleasantly surprised on numerous occasions. I quite enjoyed Overlord, though I came close to dropping it a few times. I found How Not to Summon a Demon Lord uh... fun, if only in the way where you can just turn your brain off and try to laugh at the ridiculous fanservice. These shows where the protagonist is OP as heck have regained some freshness after the likes of Konosuba and Re;Zero have redefined the genre by turning it on its head.
You may be asking yourself âso whatâs this got to do with Slime show?â
Yes, yes, Iâm getting to that.
In That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, the titular Slime character (who I will refer to as Slime-san) used to be a regular human, until he went and died. His dying words were used to generate his new form in a new world. But people say weird stuff when theyâre dying, donât they? Oh yes.
Slime-san us the result of some borked interpretations of regular, if slightly odd, statements. Making far-flung interpretations is the kind of thing that I love to do just as a mental exercise, and is thus a great start. This was probably the lure that brought me to the hook.
Awoken in this new world, Slime-san does what any person in a strange world would do, they interact with their environment in the only way they can, by absorbing stuff in their slime body. This leads to the character combining more weird stuff together to get weird results in ways that take me back to the days of Kirby 64, where combining abilities was amazing and novel. Oh yes, this hook looks tasty.
And of course, the art style is great. Even in a cave, with a character who is for all intents and purposes just a soft orb of slime, this show looks great! Every episode I am again floored by the wonderful art style and animation bringing this world to life.
And you know whatâs the best part?
For the first month or so of watching, there were almost no boobs in the show at all!
Now, donât get me wrong, I have no problem with boobs, but in this day and age of isekai shows that are more fanservice and self-insertion than anything, I am so freaking ready to have a break from the squishier parts of female characters. We have our squishy main character, Slime-san, so why should we need anything more?
(Of course there are some more fanservicey characters and scenes later on, but it feels a lot more manageable and not just forced on the viewer from the start.)
The one flaw I hear often for this show is that the main character is overpowered, so it gets boring after a while. I can see how folks would come to this conclusion when reading the manga, but when watching the anime week after week, it feels like there is still enough tension and/or uncertainty for things not to get stale, especially when you take into account the showâs other redeeming factors. ...Plus Iâve seen plenty of shounen series go on forever with undefeatable main characters (I wonât point any fingers) so Iâm not really sure what people are expecting.
All in all, if you feel you might get tired of that kind of thing, then it might be worth skipping That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, but I honestly feel like the show has so many redeeming qualities that I just canât seem to get tired of it. I look forward to seeing how far this series may go before that happens.
Zombie Land Saga
Hey do you like idol shows? No? Well how about giving this one a spin anyway?
Honestly, I have to watch more of this show. The main thing holding me back is the fact I like it so much that I want to share it with people, and then scheduling problems get in the way.
This show is absolutely hilarious. I donât know if the plot will ever make sense, and I honestly donât care. I just want to see these zombie gals try their best to make sense of this situation theyâre in. And of course I want to see the manager shout. I just need more of manager manâs shouting in my life. I donât know why.
The characters are funny and endearing, all exceptionally cute waifu material, and theyâve all got their own background (i.e. previous life) to grapple with before they can really shine as idols. Their goofy antics as a group make for some really crazy shows, which is refreshingly different from (as far as I know) just a bunch of CG idol girls jumping around in fancy costumes for 4 minutes per episode.
So just give it a look. If you arenât into it after an episode or two, thatâs fair. But otherwise it is way too easy to overlook this crazy rollercoaster ride of a show.
Anyway
this post is getting obscenely long, Iâm gonna wrap things up and say to go check out these shows. I think when the season ends Iâll try to put together a more cohesive overview of the seasonâs anime. Iâve got a few ideas.
Of course I also want to hear what yâall have been watching in the comments below. I am always down to check out any shows I may have overlooked! Thatâs usually how I find my favourites. So donât be shy!

Intention Headaches Chapter Four
Croaking, creaky, doors to heaven or a flash of bright lights reminiscent of a distant city for gambling purposes. Seed or glitter tossed to the audience of bird; dove and pigeon swooped down from above in the guise of hundreds of humans, all ready for a night of party. Sign changed to that of a welcoming invitation, an embrace fulfilled.
Swooners and swingers, uppers and downers. Sitters and stands found their places, some on stages, some in the dimmer recesses. In the middle of it all, a mild-mannered strict enforcer of peace among chaos cleaned glasses.
Some folks, card and dice in hand, bet high stakes; those playing Russian Roulette with a full clip. Some were on their last leg. There was one, solitaire player, alone at a table, with two legs, and mouth full of stake.
She had become without arm nor ornament, having to chew the fat and whatever else was left through the means as one would have at a pie-eating contest; mouth against the table, table against the grain. Although a steak, recent losses also reduced the quality to that of a super rare rather plus ultra.
âHow goes your loss of arms?â One privateer sans privacy peeked at two stumps beside a line added.
âShit's easy 'cept can't afford prosthetic 'til our gang gets a win. Love usin' my mouth, however.â
Sage nod, wisdom as a slow up and down motion.
âExperience any phantom limb?â Phantom crook hovered over, pale and ghastly gourd in hand.
âDon't believe in ghosts.â
Damned nod dawned on hovering attention hoarders.
Toward center:
âI had a wife once,â said old friend to tender of bars.
âI know,â gave a master of tender bars.
Old friend man strolled toward former owner of arms. He relaxed a pat on a shoulder, lest a back be pat.
âOne day my story will be told,â he assured more lines added.
âYeah, and who's gonna tell it, asshole?â She shot back, less with a gun and rather chunks of meat flying from a gaping hole in a face where food at times enters. â'Cause if it's from you, it's not worth hearing about!â
His stature was far from a statue, yet his manner was monumental. Rather chipped shoulder came crashing down, upside on a frown.
âIt becomes more clear.â
However, smudged was what entered from behind a hue.
âWhat do you have against autobiographies? My dear, a automatic biological response toward the self is a circular motion. Jerking, ever forward, sliding sleight of hand marks for a rotary notary.â
Add a shiver to a line. Creep tingled spine.
Behind, vociferous virginal cackle crackled. Stooped stature. One and only entrance, where all else was least expected.
âIt has come to my attention that my family of misfits have suffered some losses!â Such an announcement. âNo more! I say! We shall overcome this laboratory love, seek shelter from ourselves! Turn inward and a new leaf forward! All who join my gang today gain free drinks on me!â
Thunderous lightning in bottles.
Adeline kept head down, as head above water came skin deep.
âThere are two I fear: Sylvie and Virginia.â
To the other Woolfs, howls were deafening. Fangs were spiked in drinks. Yet, when in the presence of a Virginia, her commands were akin to carrying rocks in one's pockets and heading out to sea.
Right on cue, a tunic beat sprung from leaps and bounds of snapping fingers, rickety floorboards, and pickled shoelaces. Such a hall dedicated to tango. Dancers took a new center stage. Pinstripe, tuxedo, tutu, and tunic.
âMay I have this dance?â One said to the other.
âNo,â other said to one.
The two proceeded to tango. Separately. Creating their own moves. Spun and hiss from the potter's wheel.
âSing us a song, piano man!â One in the crowd cheered and jeered, a jaunty musk enchanted a nostril torpedo humanoid.
Tune in minor D, flat. Singing in major G, sharp.
âI was born in an institution, so take me to the institution. Hollow out my skull for me, baby.â
Everyone snapped their fingers, sans those without or those with taste buds. Budding tastes abased. Upper right square, centerfold, holy ritualistic loneliness devoured a devout silent speaker.
Muttered, a sufferer. Alone, red wine.
âThe church claims to hand out prayers to those in need. The church claims to heal all those with wounds. But how can such wounds be shaved when they come from the hands of one above? How can prayers reach, how can one pray, when one is prey to a praying mantis?â
Her words were a sermon, to and from her alone. All those to see, herself. Though there were two, seeing her.
âAnnie, the sharpshooter. Tricky, thick needle. Not one made claim to touch her.â
One of two. Pointer. Point and jeer.
âSharpshooter or fragile flower?â
Other, drinker. Just as most. Mostly morose.
âChurch. We've been over this. Bullets. She knows this.â
âHer mother keeps a keen eye.â
âOf the Sextons?â
âNot one made claim to touch her, but one.â
Turtle and porcupine pawned a torch through a blazing trail, overheard outcrop of silent words.
âYo, Buddy?â
Turtle had a back, no shell.
âWas that my name?â
âSuch a dilemma, that Annie case.â
âWhich one?â
Porcupine did a sit, then pointed to a sit, then took a stand. Syd was still on the fence. Respect on a mend.
âI respect women, but what about women who disrespect women?â
Turtle dove, diving down a crown.
âRespect a little less?â
Adeline, minding less of a mind and a little more risky business, less stake for steak, took to munching carpet. Similar texture, less cost.
Decimation, ten of them. Torturous conditions. Smaller and smaller, then lesser and greater than the sum of their tears for fears. Out on the other end, next kareoke session.
âMy cue!â Glee, jitter bug and shut-in cough tourist.
As all else, empty, Syd, short for a name forbidden, spoke aloud.
âMOOD CHANGE TONIGHT!â Brought impassioned introduction, then a sing along to a line of lyric. âGIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUUUUN!â
Abridged, bridged gaps, two ladies took hands. Unmarried, unbridled, in bridal regalia as regal as larked tongue.
âWhy do you date him?â Lustrous loss owner inquired.
âHe's harmless. Undangerous man, a safe, sure bet.â She curled over her hair, flexing her neck, sticking it outward in case ladies were to observe. Star tattooed, shoreline above the mantle.
Annie, less drink, more sorrow. Sylvie, more observant, sharp gaze.
âI prefer not to comment.â
âLeader of Sextons, her mother. Weren't the three of us in the same hospital?â Less Victoria, more Virginia mouthed audible.
âI share not her views. We begin and end with being acquainted.â
âOh, come on, dear,â Sizzled, swizzled nails. Swerved, curly hair. White, silver, grey, painted. Glasses that zoom in and out of frame. âDo we not share our fascinations with death? Look around us, we have all suffered losses. We are dead among the dead. Is that not cause for celebration?â
Silent. Serene. Hostile.
âThere are a million reasons to die. There are a million reasons to live. Regardless, we all experience one and the other at one point or another.â
âHmph. Well, darling. We could talk for days about it.â
âBetween nature and nurture, I do not force hands.â
She strode her stroll toward a grassy knoll within inner chambers of a table toward the back, varnished and vanished driftwood matte. Drink, had hand tilted with glass. Knotty bramble ale, crisp to the core of an apple and cider.
âI think I don't want society, but then I think I want society because society wants me to want society,â silver, slivered Syl.
âSocietal pressures?â Verge in a woman inquiry.
âMore that I don't know what I want if I don't have it. But do I only not want it because it wants me to not want it? And when I want it do I want it because it wants me to want it or is it my own desire? Do I desire to live in a society, or live outside? Do I desire to live, or without?â
Another fucking sip, babes took their places, hips and waist belly dances. Boomed a bounce off another end of another corner, crowd gathered to sharks and gatherers.
âI once knew a man named Dave,â dealer dealt shame.
âSay, pal, y'bought any penises recently?â
âCouldn't afford it. Couldn't win enough missions. Tried going in, trying on different dicks. Saw a penis I liked and asked the register. Clerk clocked me. Caught me and coughed up foul interplay of lessons in lack of funds and lack of missions won. Said come back when gang's more renowned. Screwed up, balls of screws.â
âWhat about a vagina?â
âThose are in even rarer supplies, mate. Try buyin' pussy and folks say 'our selection is for higher ranks. Come back with a little more, no a lot. Lot and lot of renown. Everyone wants one, those who can fit into one can't afford to have one. Now, them Hemingways, too good, little respect. Ain't know what to do. Men who love men, ain't go for dick, ain't try on pussy. Tell ya what's what?â
âMy life's a litter box,â interjected strands of hair attached to a face, earl and mache.
âWhat, Dave?â
âWe talking about cats? Because I own a house full. Over 20.â
âYes, we know, Dave.â
âY'know,â sized up undulate leader sliced up with a ruler lines of coke. âPeople think I do drugs, but I DO NOT DO DRUGS. What especially gets me is when they think I do heroin. No. None in this household. I am a vegan. I AM KOSHER. There are those who would call me a post-modernist, but lemme tell you guys somethin': if you measure out the diameter of a filthy swimming pool, describe the height, length, width, dimension, how clean the pool is and what made up the filth in the pool, in details, y'know what that is? REALISM. The real post-modernism is modernism, if you ask me. If you're too afraid to do a little research, then maybe DON'T GO OUT IN THE FIELD.â
Spread out were the cocaine powder locomotive rollercoaster. Salt or sugar, bitter pickle, all snow white.
âNow, anyone want some? I can't have any, I'm allergic.â
Grime, grit, salami-based muscle, pungent four fingers and a thumb attached to a potato called a palm reached for the flour, only for Dave to slap it away.
âJust so you know, a footnote is an endnote if it's at the end.â
Syl emerged from her drink, still in.
âProblem with Hemingway, when us women are ill, we are seen as the illness. When those men are ill, they are martyrs, brave soldiers. We are sent away to a hospital. To get better. Do we get better? Do we get worse? I think we change, in and out, there is a change, no doubt.â Slow sips.
âI'M JUST A GIRL, THAT'S ALL THAT YOU'LL LET ME BEEEEEE--â
Syd's singing. Unprompted.
Syl laugh. She does on alcohol.
âDo you love him?â Virginal census.
âI think I love love,â first responders. âI think I love loving love. But do I love? I think I would love to.â
âAre you in love?â
âIs love something to you as it is to me? I love love as a being, in or out. Am I being in love? I am loving being.â
Hunched, secrets whispered, lungs scattered. Liquids spilled. Glass intact. Bile of much knotty bramble.
âWith me,â virgin of the wolfs. âWe have much to discuss in the toilets.â
Two ladies followed the vortex of a single file line toward a horizontal stadium of stalls for all to enter. Few leave 'til close. Moss turns, moss directional, director of dissection, wash basins full of mossy oak. Ultimate of bidets on display, only few take. Most wash, some sign off on air.
Some folk wondered what the house special of the night would be, others wondered who belonged to which gang, or which gang belonged to who. There were those who wondered what constituted ale and bourbon and who owned the bonbons.
âYou're probably wondering why I decided to show my face tonight,â leader of a ton of sex, hands spread, pose in a alphabetical T.
Nobody wondered that.
âHave mercy...â Mumbling Annie chit-chattered, tiptoed through tapped toes. No one took notice.
âOur gang has received a mission. Simple one at that. Simple, poetic. Seek out a member of the church,â
Others mumbled. Muttered, even.
âI know some of my children are in the audience tonight. Sippin' on some whine, wine, whinge, chardonnay. I ask: who would be willing to make me proud? My dear husband, perhaps? Or maybe I'll return to the hospital and seek if one of the doctors would be willing to join my family,â toot, tort, ruptured spinal speech, with a hoot and a howl to boot mixed in with something afoul afoot.
Splash spot, stood up was fraught fair-minded resolute, daughter with resolve.
âI'll go.â
Crone critter crept forward, slithered toward child (adult as she were).
âAh, yes. Annie, my dear daughter,â hands upon Annie's shoulder, only her shoulder. Only her shoulder. Still, a flinch. Nerves before determination. Flushed, relieved, two faces attached to complete figures emerged and heard.
âKnowing how she operates. Disgusting.â Silver leadership spoke up.
âNo flame, no phoenix. Speak of passion, yet dejection,â verge in a wolf shared opinion.
âTrue leaders fight alongside their people, or better yet, be the first to die.â
âAt the least, inspire passion.â
âInstead, modifications.â
More shivers, between Sylver (if ever her name), Annie (a face green of gables expressed), or the great wolf.
Outside of it all, smokers smoked in the smokers' lounge.
âWanna go back inside?â One asked.
âNah. Hear some of the gang leaders are in there.â
Shackled awe, tight spot for jaw.
âWhat would they be doing here?â
âAs private as they are, leadership have every bit of access to ales and spirits as any of us.â
âNow that I think of it, Ernie's always there.â
âAh yes, 'blood of a unicorn' kid.â
âBlood of a unicorn?â
âVery same one.â
âDamn. Blood of a unicorn. I've been to the woods once or twice. No unicorns spotted. Rabbit, yes.â
âRabbit? In the woods?â
âVery live rabbit!â
âRabbit?â
âHopped along.â
âDeadass? Rabbit?â
âNo, alive rabbit.â
âNo way. Those haven't existed for a while.â
âAnyway, we should head back inside. Bar's about to close.â
âStill, a rabbit.â
Some shady men, couple in fact, hand in hand, looking inward. Last drinks ordered: Brisk Bristol bourbon and Tempura Tequila.
Soon after, or not long, rather seconds after counting down the hours, safety in numbers huddled from day-to-day monotony began to rain away as seconds ran dry, as did the barrels.
âMy doors will close,â bartender took to announcing, image appearing within every visible area of the distracted establishment. âGet your asses out and have a lovely hunt.â
Hemingway leader set down a sturdy book.
âWar is ongoing,â Ernie walked, stuck to a miniscule cycle.
âYes, my friend,â tip of the bartending hat toward world weary pint.
Other nights, others less dry. For a street of blood, oft wanted is a lick of water.

The Albums That Got Us Through School | Staff Picks
Life would not be the same without music. That sentiment holds twice as true when it comes to talking about oneâs school years. At a time when you are going through seemingly-infinite transitional phases and overwhelming confusion is at an all-time high, music exists as both an escape and connecting force to the world outside your immediate purview; music can become something larger than yourself.Â
Quite possibly the only thing in existence capable of connecting The Plastics and the rest of us, how would middle school, high school, and college us existed without those albums that quite literally defined teenage us? After all, we all didnât grow up with lofi hip hop radio - beats to study/relax to. So, we asked ourselves what one album served as our guiding light through those tumultuous school years.Â
Avril Lavigne - Let Go
youtube
From the palpable agony in âLosing Grip,â to the innocent infatuation in âSk8er boi,â to the tear-worthy loneliness in âIâm with You,â thereâs no album that guided me through the early 2000s more than Avril Lavigneâs Let Go. Introducing an emo side of pop music, Lavigneâs dark and relatable lyrics undoubtedly rescued countless young women in the face of hormonal angst. Truth be told, I still bump it in the car more often than not.
-Yasmin Damoui
Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
youtube
In terms of pure listening time, Panic! at the Discoâs debut or Green Dayâs American Idiot likely takes the prize for scoring my school years. However, no album embodied the overwhelming teenage urge to grow up quite like Neutral Milk Hotelâs landmark album In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. Released over a decade before I would ever dare to play Jeff Magnumâs haunting fuzz-folkâs meditations over the schoolâs PA system (the result of a misguided initiative to allow students greater control over the lunch playlist) to this day, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea exists as a nostalgia-ridden reminder to days and nights spent trying to uncover a greater, hidden meaning behind all the noise.
-Maxamillion Polo
Drake - Thank Me Later
youtube
From late nights on Facebook writing statuses dedicated to my crush to "Shut it Down," to queuing up "Miss Me" on the bus to school so that it'd start playing as soon as I stepped off... damn. That album really has everything. The braggadocios, the late-night simp tunes, a fun, flirty track for the ladies. You name it baby. It shaped me into the versatile king that I am today, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
-Green Lee
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
youtube
Masterfully melding the bellicose but anxious feelings of my wintery youth, the downward spiral lyrically guided me to the heights of teenage cliché. I stopped playing sports. I became deliberate and moody at house parties. I wrote terrible facsimile poetry to my much prettier and interesting girlfriends. I joined bands one week, quit them the next. All the bad decisions buoyed by this great album, my adolescence summarized succinctly, you could have it all, my empire of dirt.
-David OâConnor
Kanye West - Graduation
youtube
The album that got me through college was Kanye Westâs Graduation. I was a junior in college when this song was out and it signified a lot of change in my life which coincided with Kanyeâs progress in musical prowess. The nights we would drive around off-campus listening to âFlashing Lightsâ are some nights Iâll remember forever. Kanyeâs legendary âGlow In The Darkâ tour was based on this album cycle. I remember driving two hours on a weeknight just to catch this show near my hometown with three of my friends. This moments I had around this album will always mean a lot to me.
-Malcolm Gray
Blink-182 - Blink-182
youtube
Blink-182âs self-titled album was undoubtedly the album that got me through my pre-teen and teenage years. Growing up in the Northshore of Chicago (yes the same Northshore that Mean Girls was based off of, and yes that movie was crazy accurate about the kids I was surrounded by), it was hard to find who you actually are in the midst of rumors, bullying and cliques. The album showed growth in maturity, while still sticking to individualism. Unlike most of Blinkâs albums, this album showed a more mature side to their art. That was super important for me to remember, simply because it prevented me from getting warped into the egotistical bubble most of my peers found themselves in. It was also the album that really inspired me to get involved with music and touring, so I have to give those guys in Blink some mad props.
-Joe Leggitino
Bring Me The Horizon - Sempiternal
youtube
No band was able to simultaneously capture and validate the whirlwind of emotions I experienced on a daily basis in my early teenage years quite like Bring Me the Horizon. Their fourth studio album, Sempiternal, included songs such as âCan You Feel My Heartâ and âShadow Moses,â which contain brutally honest lyrics that related to my internal struggles in a way music had never done before. Furthermore, because of my newfound love for Bring Me the Horizon, I was welcomed into the punk/metal community with open arms. Gaining acceptance into this new community fundamentally changed my high school experience because as frontman Oli Sykes said, âOther hurting people can be the best therapy.â Â
-Alissa Williams
Shania Twain - UP!
youtube
I got this huge purple boombox one year for Christmas and got really into CDs. I found this Shania Twain CD at a Best Buy clearance aisle one day with my Dad and had it on repeat for years growing up. Iâd like to blame Shania for my love of country and fire of independence from men.
-Jenna Singer
Death Cab for Cutie - PLANS
youtube
PLANS hit me just when I got my driverâs license: my first legal stamp of autonomy. Driving â by myself â to these tracks gave me a hall pass to feelings I needed to feel, in my own space, in my own time.
-Alexa Schoenfeld
Kelela - Take Me Apart
youtube
When it comes to methods of surviving the emotional (and financial) rollercoaster that is college, never would I have thought to even consider the act of being taken apart to be one of the most important mechanisms for endurance. From the austere yet liberating lyrics of âFrontlineâ to the end-of-the-war melodies in âAltadena,â Kelela sends listeners on an emotional, intergalactic journey through the stages of dealing with a loss in her 2017 release Take Me Apart. If I learned one thing about surviving college from this album, it's that it is okay for things to fall apart sometimes, because destruction is often a conduit for rebirth (if only that also held true for the financial loss, though).
-Bianca Brown
Arctic Monkeys - AM
youtube
Nothing throws me back more than Arctic Monkey's album AM. From "Do I Wanna Know?" to "Snap Out of It," every song on that album makes me feel like an angsty tumblr teen again. Without that album, I doubt I would've been even half as edgy going through high school.
-Alison Wu
Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
youtube
I didn't know indie-pop music until I heard this album. It was the first vinyl I bought, the first real band I was obsessed with. At the end of 8th grade, I found their project on Youtube and listened to it up and down in the era before ads. It ushered me into high school where I'm pretty sure I saw the world in exclusively pastel colors and thought I was enlightened because everyone else was still listening to The Black Eyed Peas. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix made me an indie kid -- I started snowboarding, wearing a lot of grey, and only listened to blog radio after this. Phoenix is still my everything.
-Precious Kato
A Day To Remember - Common Courtesy
youtube
Ever since I first discovered A Day To Remember, theyâve remained one of my favorite bands and this record specifically got me through high school. Every track on this album has an important message and itâs definitely worth listening through in its entirety. Whether youâre going through a tough time or just needing some heavy-ish music in your life, ADTR gives it all to you.

The Advantages Of Knowing Just How To Get A House The Specialist Way
The Advantages Of Knowing Just How To Get A House The Specialist Way
Many people do certainly not become aware that it is actually achievable to know just how to Buy My House like a qualified along with only a percentage of simple education.
Everyone's dream is to own their very own residence. This appears coming from the surge in the actual property market in the latest opportunities. However purchasing a house intelligently requires a little of computed attempt on the component of the buyer. Sell House To Investor
If you talked to the ordinary person when it relates to buying their property, would certainly they choose to spend over the marketplace worth, or under the marketplace worth, I'm sure that everybody would certainly acknowledge they will choose to buy at under market price.
Exceptionally, also in today's market, there are actually still residences on the marketplace along with over inflated costs and the vendor still assumes to cost this method. What is actually more, there are still bunches of people that, only through doing not have in the bit of easy learning pay much more than the marketplace value, or spend a lot much more than they require as well.
What these people carry out not recognize is that the cash they can reduce the acquisition of the exact same Buy My House might give your house packed with brand-new furnishings, or even last the really least adorn their brand new homes to a great requirement Montgomery.
What these property buyers perform not know is, that if they spent a percentage of time and also effort in discovering just how to Buy My House from those that perform it continuously, the advantages to on their own can be substantial. In this particular appreciation, when it concerns learn just how to Buy My House, a little bit of education definitely can go a very long way!
This operates equally as properly even when our home you are actually seeking to get is certainly not your 1st.
Learning to get your property effectively is the smarter ways to perform things in the 21st Century as we possess a substantial quantity of expertise at our fingertips. Being actually a "smarter" customer also eliminates stress and anxiety coming from your house buying method for both you as well as the vendor and makes the whole knowledge of exactly how to get a house a pleasing, carefree expertise for all entailed.
Residence sellers likewise possess a higher worry degrees when they possess to present people around their home. If you may create the procedure simpler for the all of them, you're effectively on your way to creating those good financial savings Montgomery.
There are actually great deals of ways to learn how to acquire a residence the qualified way. When learning exactly how to get a property, the key is to locate individuals that have actually done it prior to many opportunities. The easiest technique you may discover these folks is actually with the Internet with your preferred online search engine. Additionally, you may select to know how to buy a house from any sort of variety of the book retail stores either online, or in your local book outlet.
Directly, I would appear to start with for Property Investors as these are individuals who on a regular basis purchase for on their own thus normally put their personal enthusiasms first when it pertains to acquiring to the cheapest price. The 2nd place I will appear is actually an ex-Estate Agent/Realtor as these folks are actually associated with your house getting process all the time as well as have an excellent network of expert shoppers who might be capable to give you with the expertise you require Montgomery.
The important things that need to have to be comprehended when getting your property are actually:
 - The simple as well as quick and easy negotiation and also influencing approaches. Not the whole encyclopaedia, only the simple strategies that have been proven to function when it comes exactly how to get a home.
 - The process of purchasing. As discussed over, if you can create the selling process simpler for the dealer, the much better will be your results NY.
 - The easiest of and also very most helpful sales resources to acquire the homeowner presuming your way.
 - Knowing just how to find the properties that are going to offer you the best discounts.
Surprisingly good enough, finding out the above approaches is actually incredibly easy and also you will certainly be actually surprised at exactly how a lot amount of money can you can easily save with just using the really basic things when administered with the suitable method as well as a little bit of understanding NY.
If you are actually appearing to come to be a wise shopper, I would firmly recommend you that you perform not consult from your parents, your friend, your dentist or even your car auto mechanic etc on this concern. When you require experienced suggestions, visit the professionals in the business. A Fireman will not be actually the greatest person to offer you correct assistance on Heart Surgery, whereas a Heart Surgeon would. It is actually astonishing exactly how several people approve guidance coming from the wrong folks and also get the expected poor end results NY.
Therefore if you are actually serious above getting a residence and creating the sizable cost savings at are truly possible, it's greatest not to muddle by means of this process. Obtain some assistance due to the fact that the recognizing the strategies of exactly how to acquire a residence at most reasonable feasible price is a key that is actually effectively worth finding out.
In summary the benefits of a little bit of education in home buying are:
 - You can conserve a whole lot of funds off the worth of your following house;
- The instruction and also procedures demanded are truly pretty simple to discover as well as basic to use;
- Having a framework to your strategy create you appears like a much better buyer before the dealer;
- You produce the procedure of just how to buy a property easier on your own self and also the seller;
- You eliminate the risk of paying even more for you house as you handle the procedure.
I would certainly advise that any individual who is hoping to purchase a property in the near future receives a small amount of education and learning beforehand.
Is It A Good Time To Buy A House?
Is right now an excellent time to acquire a house? That is actually an excellent question. I will just like to answer it with a quote that my real property advisor the moment informed me. The greatest time to buy a house is when you need a place to live. I know that might seem a little crazy, yet the reality is actually, you acquire a property to provide a reason. When you require a cars and truck, you get a cars and truck- when you need to have a spot to reside, you purchase (or lease) a home 12549.
Essentially, though, there are actually 2 various solution to that inquiry. It depends upon why you are acquiring as well as what your goals are actually. I wrote this write-up for those of you that are actually trying to get a residence as a primary home. For those taking into consideration purchasing a realty investment residential or commercial property, you may read my write-up entitled great time to purchase a house-real property investment 12549. The Fact is, if you are actually an investor, or taking into consideration ending up being one, the very best opportunity to buy may totally various coming from that of a retired married couple trying to downsize after their 4th kid eventually leaves behind for university. You've heard what the media is actually informing you concerning getting building and you've gone through the newspaper's roller rollercoaster advise concerning the property markets. Certainly your mama, papa, sis, brothers, uncles, aunts, as well as your household pet bird Petey all possess their viewpoints also. So how perform you determine when you should acquire major regarding delving into own a home? To begin with, lets appearance at the "purchase all-time low" suggestion 12549.
Purchase all-time low? Wonderful idea right? Sure, I am actually all for obtaining a bargain on property. The issue? Knowing when our experts're at all-time low. Just how perform we perform that? Again, if you inquire about, you're sure to acquire several, as well as some surprisingly entertaining assistance. So I'll respond to that question for you coming from my adventure ... NOBODY CAN!
You could be presuming "wow, thanks a whole lot, that had not been true handy." My aspect is this, though; no business analyst, no guru, no loan expert, or even anybody else can spot the base of the market up until it is actually long gone 12549. Oh, yes, along with hindsight our experts can easily determine when the base (or leading) was, yet not one people knows it till after that United States.
 1. Rookie Buyer Mistake # 1. Waiting around to capitalize on "purchasing the butt." Generally, all-time low zip which shopper finds yourself paying out even more for a home than they need to have, or even they acquire reached with a higher rate of interest that winds up burglarizing all of them of the cost savings they did experience.
 2. Rookie Buyer Mistake # 2. Considering your home as the "biggest financial investment you are going to ever before make." You home might well cost you greater than everything else you ever get yet it is actually certainly not a financial investment! When you buy a home to reside in, you are actually getting an area to call residence, a spot to check out the kids play in the backyard, a location to develop, laugh, and also call all together in. The moment you start considering your house as an assets, you've dropped the touchy-feelies of family home possession.
Consider it by doing this. When your last youngster was birthed and your family no more fit in to the awesome two-seater, what performed you do? Performed you wait on the bottom of the mini-van market or even performed you go acquire a mini-van? Do not receive me wrong, I am actually all for getting a good package on a home. I am actually only splitting up the differences in between getting a home as a house and getting as a property investment. My knowledge has been that a house purchaser who checks out their acquisition as an expenditure usually performs not receive the kind of result they were actually wishing for. In reality, lots of finish up paying for lots of dollars a lot more by waiting United States.
Why is right now a happy times to purchase a property? Consider this instance:
A property that could be acquired today for $150,000 (Roseburg standard) with a 5% security deposit, and is actually paid for over 30 years would certainly possess a monthly repayment of concerning $765 P/I. The shopper will (in this particular example and like a lot of property owner) reside in this house for the next 7 years.
Currently lets think about together that the hypothetical shopper procrastinates as well as "hangs around for all-time low." What if, while this shopper stands by, the rates of interest for a typical 30 year home mortgage rise through a simply 1%? This is not a rare desire of many professionals, incidentally. Allow's claim, though, that rates performed drop through $5,000 so the buyer had the ability to save $5,000 right?
Wrong! Despite a purchase rate of $145,000, with a 5% security deposit, and a finance amount of $137,750, the 1% rise in the rates of interest in fact makes his regular monthly settlement more than it will possess been in the above instance. The settlement is now $826.00 monthly, a difference of $5,124 over the following 7 years! A lot for conserving $5,000!
You see the problem along with the "expecting the base" thinking? My assistance to you who are making an effort to calculate when you need to acquire is this. Consider your family members needs to have, job security, and also check out the info our team possess at this moment to base your selection on. Thus what do we recognize now?
We understand that our team have very low mortgage loan interest fees straight today!
We recognize that home costs are actually excellent immediately, equal to what they resided in 2002!
We understand that if we may not be under of the marketplace that we should be incredibly close.
We understand that if we hang around, our experts might potentially find yourself costing us even more money than our company could probably spare.
Is Actually NOW A GOOD TIME TO BUY A HOUSE? My viewpoint is Absolutely YES!
Troy Schuyler is actually an accredited true estate broker with Century 21 The Neil Co. Property in Roseburg Oregon. He and also his partner, Jennifer are happily increasing their three children, Jordan, Mya, and also Caden in Roseburg as properly. If you're appearing for the most effective time to purchase a residence in Roseburg, this might well be it. Whether you stay inside or outside my regular service area, satisfy go to Troy Schuyler online to learn more or a suggestion to among my counted on agents. You'll likewise have the capacity to obtain added area stats as well as seek houses free of charge United States.
Exactly how To Buy A House With A Good Resell Value
When you would like to buy a residence there are specific factors you need to try to find to ensure that you obtain an excellent resell market value on your expenditure. Our company are going to check out the a number of the absolute most important traits to search for when you make a decision to get a home.
Shop a house in a great region with a under-landscaped area. You will definitely spend considerably less for this and also you could constantly improve your landscape over opportunity, repairing the grass and also including a couple of plants as well as plants.
You will definitely likewise must calculate the measurements of our home you get. When you acquire a home and choosing the measurements, attempt to examine the various other homes in the very same neighborhood. Buying a major property in a community could not be actually such an excellent suggestion as when the time relates to offer, the price may be grabbed down by the prices of the various other smaller sized homes in the same neighborhood United States.
If you decide to purchase a residence along with a good perspective, try to pay for as little bit of added as possible. Many people generally invest a tremendous amount of funds on a property along with a sight. Though you devote a bunch of funds on your view, you need to presume if potential purchasers will perform the same. Due to the opportunity you desire to re-sell your property you will definitely maybe appearing hang around a number of years for a shopper ahead along. This can also create you to drop your cost a lot merely to inhibit match with the various other houses in the community.
Additionally shop a house along with an oblong yard. Obtain a house along with a respectable front end as well as yard no- odd condition molded gardens or unusually situated lawns.
Attempt to purchase a house with a minimum of three or four bedrooms, as this is most of residence buyers' demands. Make an effort to also be sure that you acquire a residence along with two washrooms or even pair of and a fifty percent shower rooms.
Garages likewise includes a great deal to the resell value of your house, thus attempt to at the very least obtain a double garage the next time you are actually taking a look at a property United States.
Be sure that there are actually enough storage rooms in your home and also there are sufficient wardrobes for cellular linings to.
The kitchen area is actually the best necessary part of the home as the centers around the kitchen area. Attempt to get a big kitchen along with a considerable amount of space as well as contemporary home appliances. Your dinning space must also be around your kitchen. Make certain that there is actually easy gain access to coming from your kitchen space to your yard as you occasionally could have a barbeque occasionally which you can conveniently reach the kitchen area when you want to.

10.20.19 - brutally honest
Hi W!
Iâm not entirely inspired right now, but Iâve been thinking throughout the day, since I was inspired, and want to be able to write some stuff and articulate things. Iâll respond your previous post after Iâve written out my new content.
First thing, I spent these 4 days of bed rest binge watching a Kdrama, a rom com that I absolutely adore to bits! I just finished and my heart is AH <3. Itâs called Fight My Way and reminds me of bits of pieces of Strong Woman DBS and Weightlifting Fairy. Itâs got a strong female lead (the 2nd lead is also strong in a subtle way), and itâs about two best friends (since childhood) who eventually fall in love. Itâs so sweet! And itâs completely my style haha, Iâve seen too many Kdramas at this point, I recognize most of the actors lmao. ANYWAYS, this drama brought me through an emotional rollercoaster over these couple of days, because the really main point of the show is about 4 twenty-somethings navigating their life, dreams, and relationships. Most of them were stuck in some menial, daily life grind job, and were not getting to do what they really loved at the beginning of the show. I felt super reassured cuz Kdramas tend to have 28/29 year olds still struggling to figure out their life, so it just helps me feel comforted. Seeing some of them in their day jobs, and hating it, but doing it because they have to earn money, was SO friggin relatable. One of them did customer service for a bit and was yelled at over the phone, and boy I almost cried from relatable that moment was. Watching them face their fear to follow their dreams, and fail along the way, but still persist, was honestly so moving to watch. Itâs a more realistic show, and they did face a lot of failures. The main female lead had to go up against many applicants who had prestigious backgrounds like studying abroad or come from rich families, and she was continuously rejected, but she persisted and found something else that she loved to do. I will now tie in how this Kdrama feels so relevant to my life right now...
I named todays post âbrutally honestâ because I want to take this chance to be properly honest with you, once and for all, about how I feel my life. I added âbrutallyâ because, honestly after spending 4 days alone in my room on my bed, it gives me a chance to clear away distractions and thoughts about daily life, to really self reflect. I could spend these days thinking about things I normally think about, but Iâd usually run into life distractions thatâd make me stop. Itâs also brutal, because my thoughts can get pretty dark. But Iâm trying not to see them as dark, but rather just being brutally honest about my life. You get a slice of what my journal entries look like :P
I am SO uninspired by my life in the Bay Area. If I think too much about it, I think I might be pretty miserable? The only reason I donât think Iâm super miserable on the daily basis is because I have distractions and I try not to think too much about it. But the truth is, I think my life is miserable, and to look at my own life, I hate myself. Iâm actually growing so much hate for my current life, that I feel motivated to grow and cultivate a future that will never let me have to relive this life again. Combined with these health complications and my tendency to live life thinking âlifeâs so short, u never know when ur gna dieâ, I just donât think the life I am living right now is worth living, if my life is truly going to be short. Some of the characters in Fight My Way go through this experience, and confront the misery they had (except they were living it for 5+ years - throughout their early and mid twenties). I donât know how much you know, or how much what I say has impacted you, because I try to keep it low key, but I really really really really hate my life here. I just REALLY REALLY hate it. I hate what iâm doing for my job. I hate what the Bay Area is full of. I hate being surrounded by the energy here. I do NOT want to be here. And tbh I think I would be like this in any big American city. I would be like this at any corporate job. Itâs not where I am working specifically, itâs not the Bay Area specifically, but I am just so so so UNinspired. I know for a fact I am capable of being inspired and feeling motivated, and yet I feel like I am wasting my days away. I am literally just here to earn the minimal money I can so I can get out of here as soon as possible. I think I am capable of getting through each day because I can lie to myself for the short term. That Iâm learning... or I have great coworkers... Iâm so lucky to live here for the rent I pay... I live a comfortable and privileged life - okay those are not lies, but tbh donât think Iâm learning much at all. In order to get through the next 7 months, I think I have to numb myself. And the only reason Iâve been able to get this far (1.5+ years), is because I lied to myself about all the things I want to accomplish and I am able to do here. Ok, saying that I lied to myself might be a bit brutal, but I did have to convince myself why I should have come here, get the jobs I did, and be here. Some days I can appreciate the things iâve gone through and learned, and I think I had to have been here to go onto what ever is next for me. But just so I can make it very clear... I hope to Never. Ever. Ever. EVER. Return to the life I am living now. I can only go up from here, based on my own standards. I will return if I absolutely, financially, need to again, but god I really hate the tech world. I hate that I have to spend my everyday life pretending to like it and be enthusiastic about it (itâs hard especially when Iâm interviewing candidates and I have to say how excited and how much i love everything sigh). I am SO SO SO SO SICK of myself for what I put myself through the past (soon to be) 3 years. I so sincerely hope that once I hit June 2020, that will be the end of this phase for me. Whatâs next? Who knows god what. (Well, I have some ideas, but I will reveal them when I am a bit more ready).Â
Ok. That was my brutally honest vent about how I really actually feel about my life. I effing hate it. But I can only pretend not to hate it for a few more months. Itâs really hard, to not feel like I can ever be my true self, that I donât even know what my true self is, I just know that my everyday right now is not it. On a related note, I also donât feel the most comfortable living where I am right now, because it feels like itâs owned and dominated by someone else, you know? Another future goal is to finally live somewhere I can truly feel at home and I can be myself in too. The closest I have to feeling that way about a home was living with H, but otherwise, everywhere I lived was always owned or shared with someone else... I cannot wait for the day I get to have my own space, my own kitchen! and I get to dictate wat the heck I want to do with it.
All of this is linked to the Kdrama, Fight My Way, because the characters went through something similar to what I am going through now, and I found it inspiring how they got through things and how happy they are. Also, just btw, the main characters are considered ânot normalâ in the society they live in, and there were a lot of lines emphasizing âLive the life you want to live. Donât look at how others are living. Live the mainstream life that is for YOUâ. So yeah :â)Â
My Responses to your last post: - thank you for sharing me the thoughts and feelings about your age and how that plays into the relationships you have. I wouldnât say I have personally experienced that. I am hyper conscious of age, but actually of when people are younger than me, rather than the other way around. Itâs because I think about what I was like when I was at that age, and think of how different I was (even like now vs when I was 19). I didnât know you did an art camp with 17 year olds when you were 12! That is quite the gap. I can see why you would want to hide your age. I know that when I was traveling, most people were older than me and they were usually surprised at my age when I told them, but I would get compliments for being mature for my age. Iâd imagine the same would happen for you. Itâs interesting how your mom wanted you to hang out with older folks to âimproveâ yourself, because youâre right, older folks can also be very immature... I mean, is your aunt (w/ the wechat name) someone you want to have mature conversations with? lol - I agree with your therapist that âresponsibilityâ can be redefined. I lean more to the letting her stumble and make mistakes kind of responsibility, because she needs to grow up and see the world for what it really is to learn her lessons.
Aight, my turn to try to sleep. I hope to make it physically to work tomorrow! Because tbh I feel bad for missing so much of work this month. But I also could care less at this point... because of what I wrote about in this post lol.

Driving back to the Central belt, trying to drink in and commit to memory the sights surrounding me. Iâm going to miss the copper of the bracken, the reds, yellows, browns and greens of the October Highland trees. The reflections in the Highland lochs and the tumbling brooks on every heather-clad hillsideâŠÂ
Alvie House
We spent the October holidays at Alvie House, just outside Aviemore, in the Highlands of Scotland. This week we have ventured as far north as Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness, had family fun at Landmark Forest Adventure Park and learned about Highland life at the Highland Folk Museum. We saw polar bears, tigers, snow monkeys and wolves at the Highland Wildlife Park and enjoyed walks around Alvie Estate.
 Alvie Estate
Alvie House is a stunning old house that has belonged to the Williamson family since 1927. As well as traditional estate activities such as forestry and agriculture the current Laird has expanded the estate activities to include tourism. There are a number of holiday cottages on the estate, stables, zip lines and other outdoor activities. We stayed in the top floor flat of the main house. A five bedroom, self-catering flat, still fabulously old fashioned but kept in excellent condition. From the windows, there are wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and the local red squirrels! It was a great base for our Highland Adventure!
The stone circle on Alvie Estate.
View from the top floor flat.
Top flat, master bedroom.
 Landmark Forest Adventure Park
Landmark Forest Adventure Park is the perfect October family day out. All our kids loved it from the three year old to the eleven year old! In fact, much to their surprise, the parents and grandparents in our group thoroughly enjoyed themselves too! The October holidays seem like the perfect time to go as it wasnât too cold or too busy. We had many, many gos on the water slides and rollercoaster! There was very little waiting around and the staff were happy and friendly. There is more than enough to fill a full day, the kids were sad to leave and canât wait to go back!
Explore the park here.
Wild Water Coaster
Skydive, parachute jump simulation.
The Butterfly House
The Lost Labyrinth.
Floating tap!
Runaway Timber Train
 RZSS Highland Wildlife Park
The Highland Wildlife Park is another great day out and itâs only a couple of miles from Alvie House. It is home of, not one but, four polar bears (two males, one female and Hamish the polar bear cub!). We were fascinated by the snow monkey babies playing on the ropes and nets and waited in great anticipation to see the big cats (tigers and snow leopards) being fed. We encountered a pack of wolves snoozing in Wolf Woods and saw red squirrels darting around the trees. The staff were full of interesting information and were more than happy to answer questions about the animals.
One of the male polar bears at the Highland Wildlife Park.
 Urquhart Castle and Loch Ness
The furthest we travelled was to Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness, about an hours drive north east of Alvie House.
Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness.
The kids enjoyed running around the castle, up and down the towers and discovering what would have been beds and a toilet! The views of Loch Ness were stunning and there were even steps right down to the water.

There is also a visitors centre and cafe which makes it easy to spend the whole afternoon here. On the day we visited Urquhart Castle, they were holding a workshop at the visitors centre where you could make your own Knightâs Jug.

Highland Folk Museum and Coulters candy
Anyone who grew up in Scotland will be excited to hear that we found Coulters Candy in the old traditional sweetie shop at the Highland Folk Museum! As well as the sweet shop, the highlights for the kids were the 1930s school, the 1700s village featured in the TV adaptation of Diana Gabaldonâs âOutlanderâ and of course, the squirrel hunt!

The Highland Folk Museum is a mile long outdoor museum on the edge of Kingussie. From the late 1800s âAultlarie croftâ at one end to the 1700s âBaile Geanâ township at the other with lots to see in between. Itâs definitely a full day event, and itâs free! We would recommend buying the Visitors Guide when you first arrive as itâs full of the interesting histories of the buildings in the museum.
The day we were there, Baile Gean township was peopled with traditionally clad men and women. They were happy to chat about the chores they were carrying out, like dying and spinning wool and making tools.
One of my favourite finds was the Curling Club hut and pond in the Pinewoods.

Apart from all the amazing activities, one of the best things about our week in the Highlands was being switched off from social media and the feeling of being far away from everyday life. Much as I love my daily life, itâs times like these that divide up the monotony of the routine that revolves around work and school. Without the memories made on holidays such as this, I fear the years would start to slip away with very little to distinguish one from the nextâŠ

The Concussion Chronicles: 30 Days, 30 Slept on ET Joints
âI know my days are few, and in my mind itâs true: hold that moment, âcause in a moment itâs through.â
|| #1 of #30: âMoments LIVEâ â Eternia ||
https://youtu.be/Ckx09dYL7ZU
I used to listen to this song alone in my apartment & bawl my eyes out. I was deeply aware at a very young age of the fleeting nature of life. I often felt untethered to time and place, disconnected from âreal life.â I didnât think Iâd live past 35. I didnât mind the thought of dying. I still donât. When I hear this song, I hear a girl grappling with the reality that we are âbut a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.â
Writing these #ConcussionChronicles the past 30 days has given me a sense of time and place. Which is a good exercise for me, even if no one reads them but me. Writing them has also been emotionally difficult. Each video & song was tied to a memory that took me places. I usually wrote songs when I was struggling with difficult emotions. I try not to get lost in the rollercoaster feelings, but the double-edged sword of being a relatable artist that folks connect to easily is that my emotions are readily accessible to me. They can sweep over me - without a moments' notice - and take me places. Itâs why yâall got the songs you got from me. The emotional vulnerability & transparency you hear in the music isnât courage â itâs how I process every moment of every day. Itâs like breathing.
I believe pain is simply the death of an illusion we hold: about ourselves, each other &/or this world. So when I feel the weight of sad feelings crushing me, I hold the uncomfortable feelings up to the light & ask, âwhat illusion do I need to let go of?â These entries have also been a gift to me. I have (re)learned that my identity is grounded in âdoingâ, my validation in accomplishment. Iâm an overachiever, perfectionist and A-type. Itâs near impossible for me to just be still â no project, no deadline, no plan - without feeling of no value & like I have no purpose. The Concussion Chronicles started because I was on house arrest recovering from a concussion. And I couldnât just be still. LOL! So I did this.
Writing these have also allowed me to see with profound clarity the hand that God has had in directing, protecting and loving me my entire life. Not just after I got baptized & started claiming Him. But MY ENTIRE LIFE! Some folks may be like, âduh!â but when youâre self worth is embedded in âdoingâ itâs a life changing epiphany to realize this. He chose me first. He loved me first. And nothing I have done, or will do, will ever change that. I have lived a life experiencing love that is works-based & conditional â with the exception of my Grandmaâs love â so THIS was a HUGE revelation for me!
I am grateful to those who have been on this incredible music journey with me the past 20 years, many of whom I referenced by name in these entries. I am grateful to those who journeyed through these entries with me the past 30 days, and especially to those who commented. Your comments ground me. Presently, I feel like God has me in a holding pattern. I feel I am forever displaced between then & not yet. Now ceases to exist. I am open to any direction He may give. But I just wanna land, you know?

Five Strategies for Photobooth Posing!
We all know the possible fun to become had within a photobooth, regardless of whether regular or the new, open-air style. A group of individuals get together, in front of a camera, with some random props...how could you NOT have enjoyable? But do a quick Google search on photobooth pictures over the years and what you get started to realize is the fact that a large majority of them appear the same. And that is understandable simply because, for the most component, if you get inside a photobooth, every person expects to create a handful of faces, put on a couple of random articles of clothes, and pose!
Now we're not doubting that people have lots of fun performing that, or that the resulting images are fun to look at. But what in the event you could have an expertise that was not only entertaining and made decent pictures, but were one of a kind and inventive?! To ensure that even men and women who never personally recognize the men and women within the image respond with, "wow, that's such an incredible concept!" or "wow, the timing there is excellent!"?
The following are a list of 5 straightforward recommendations that we've compiled just after a lot of, many events of operating a photobooth, aiming every single time to come out with images that would go beyond the standard photobooth images and possess the further "wow" aspect. If you are going to become operating a DIY photobooth, hopefully this assists you get the most out of one's guests as you man the booth. If you're just reading this in case you come about to pop into a photobooth yourself sometime soon, hopefully this gets your inventive juices going as well! Right here goes:
1. Spend Consideration TO DETAILS
When running a photobooth for an event, say a wedding, with a number of hundred guests and also a restricted variety of props, its only a matter of time ahead of guests run out of issues to do with all the props obtainable. You'll get your fair share of entertaining photos with these and the typical poses (and that is fine!) but to take it to an additional level, retain your eyes peeled for specifics in your surroundings. This incorporates on individuals (clothes, accessories, etc) also as at your venue/location (centerpieces, table settings, utensils, and so on)
As an example, inside a group of folks, do they've something in widespread? Possibly a color scheme? a comparable or constant short article of clothes? all guys, wearing ties? all ladies, with fancy footwear? does everyone have their cellphone on them? or perhaps a thing as uncomplicated as a wallet? make the most of that! Attempt to utilize them in non-standard methods for excellent photographs. Use them to inform a story! (additional on that in #4)
If you are at a wedding or birthday party, are there items that the host has placed in the decorations that can be applied as props in exciting techniques? This is normally a terrific method to, not just use these "props" creatively, but also to add personalized particulars towards the photographs that can remind the hosts of information - for example decorations & party favors - that they spent so numerous hours preparing for.
After you keep your eyes peeled for specifics like this, everything and every person becomes a potential prop and notion for an excellent capture!
2. RUN WITH THEIR PERSONALITY
When you direct people today inside a photobooth, its important to take into consideration the personality of the individuals you are working with. Are you younger or older? outgoing or a little much more shy? are they athletic (enough, say, to jump and even throw people)?
Some individuals are just bundles of creative energy and you're able to just kind of sit back and watch the fantastic ideas flow! Others need a little bit far more input (or perhaps prodding) to open up with some crazier ideas. Start out by letting them attempt and idea/pose or two on their own and get a feel for what kinds of issues they produce.
Try offering little suggestions to what they've got (extra intense facial expressions, much more believable actions, far more interaction, less pose-y, and so on). If they seem open to direction, break out some of one's crazier ideas! For this purpose, we're constantly brainstorming ideas for new poses, stories, and ideas, so that when we come across the right kind of group in a photobooth, we're ready to go!
Remember that wonderful, crazy picture ideas are somewhat relative. In the event you can get normally reserved grandparents to open up and get just a little goofy, success! By taking the personalities that come and helping them to kick it up a notch (even if it is literally only one, little notch!), chances are you've got yourself a shot that may be remembered! Who knows, they may even come back for more!
3. Benefit from NUMBERS
With all the new photobooth designs these days (especially with open-air photobooths), its not uncommon to become able to squeeze in anywhere from 1 to even 15 persons within a single photobooth shot! The question now is how to most effectively use these numbers for fantastic shots! A number of suggestions:
Smaller groups and couples (2-5 persons) offer a lot of possible for basic, clear, entertaining interaction between folks. Its easy to direct them saying, "I want you to accomplish this to her!" or "Everyone jump on the count of 3!"
Medium sized groups (6-10 folks) starts to get a little trickier. Action shots, for example absolutely everyone jumping, are more out of the question due towards the potential of injury or an unwanted kick towards the leg! Rather, shots that direct your interest to a specific person, for example "Everyone cheer for the bride and groom while they kiss!" or "Carry this person and act like he's incredibly heavy!" are what makes the image "WOW" worthy.
Huge sized groups (11-15 folks) are definitely a challenge, but well worth it when everyone inside the group is willing to get a little crazy and all participate in on the fun. This really is where expressive faces and every person carrying out the exact same thing come in handy. "Everyone stick out your hands and say 'ROAR!'" or "Stick out your tongue and attempt to touch your noses," all make for hilarious shots that make the group want to accomplish far more!
4. Do not POSE, DIRECT
Another technique to put it is, "don't just take a picture, inform a story!" While random action can be lots of entertaining, often the best photobooth pictures are the ones where your eye is drawn into some action or flow of thought and leads you through the picture as you follow the "storyline".
Imagine your self the director of a very uncomplicated movie. Rather then inform each person exactly what gesture to make, what facial expression to have, together with the exact timing, try giving them a "story" or "concept" that they can take and run with. Then, all you need to perform is capture at the right time! (here's where digital technology helps!)
A couple simple examples, "You three kids are really mad at your parents, so mad in fact that issues are about to get out of hand. And you parents are helpless, scared, cowering! Ready? Go!"
"Ok guys, I want you to pretend like you're on a rollercoaster, about to go down a steep drop! Ready, go!"
"Alright, I want you to let out your years of frustration by slapping her, while you are just shocked that this is happening just before your eyes!"
5. SHOW ME THE ACTION!
Just because a image captures a single moment in time doesn't mean that image itself needs to be of a static pose! You can never go wrong with injecting a bit of action into a shot! Irrespective of whether its faking a move out of a video game, tossing a poor guy high up inside the air, or perhaps the tried-and-true, coordinated jump, getting people moving around with some exciting action always brings up the energy and exciting, and leaves you with some fantastic captures!
So there you have it, 5 very simple recommendations for posing people inside a photobooth. This list definitely isn't comprehensive, but hopefully it gets you started with some different ideas!
