ARグラス Rokid Max（+α）使用感想

はじめに

突然ですがRokid Maxを買いました。 何かっていうとARグラスというものなのですが、より正確にいうとこれはサングラス型ディスプレイです。

Rokid Max

専用アプリを入れればAR機能が楽しめたりするらしいですが、Rokid Maxに関しては少なくとも向こうの景色見えづらいし、アプリもイマイチ微妙だったので、ディスプレイと思った方がいいと思いました。

基本的な情報については公式やAmazonなどにもあるので割と省きますが、1920x1080の画面がそれなりの大きさで表示される感じです。 個人的にはVRゴーグルよりドット感が少なくて、映像視聴などにはよりおすすめできるんじゃないかと思います。

Rokid Max使用感想

一番の気持ちとしては、大きい画面で色々観れるのはとってもいい！って感じです。 そもそもそれがしたくて買ったので満足しています。 AR機能は期待しないほうがかも。自分は特にそこに関してはやる予定もなかったのでがっかりとかはなかったですが、買うことを検討している方は目的をはっきりさせてものを選んだ方が良さそうです。

大きさはサングラスがちょっとだけゴツい感じなので、ディスプレイを持ち歩いていると思えばとてもコンパクトですね。 ケースもついているのでケーブルと一緒に楽々持ち歩けます。

個人差ありそうですが、私は鼻が低かったのかちょっとずり落ちやすいです。 これが結構厄介で、座っている状態でかけていると何を見ててもちょっとずつずり落ちてきて、画面が上から塞がってきてしまいます。 この辺はまあサングラス型の宿命的なものでもあるのかなぁ…とも思いつつ、何か対策できないか現在模索中です。

画面については正直思っていたよりも綺麗で、上にも書きましたがドット感が少ないと感じたのでとてもよかったです。 所詮FHDなので解像度はそんなに今となっては高くないと思いますが、表示される大きさ的には十分だと感じました。

あと一応PC作業にも使ってみました。 画面を固定することが基本的にこれはできないので（一部ソフトウェアを使用することで可能ですが）、端っこは見づらいです。目線だけで見る必要があるので。 個人的には辛いというほどではないけど快適ではない、ぐらいの感じでした。

Rokid Hub

Rokid HubはARグラスの周辺機器的存在です。 Rokid HubはRokid Maxとは別に、中古品を買いました。 特に問題なく使用可能で一安心。 Rokid HubはSwitchをドックなしでARグラスに映したり、スマホなどの映像を充電しながら映すのにも使います。 自分はSwitch用に買いました。 Switchで使用する時はおそらくですが電源も別途接続する必要があります。 この手のドックなしでの投影に対応したARグラス用商品はARグラスを作っている所から他にも出ていますが、Rokidのものはその中でも多分一番小さいんじゃないかな？ 大きさはこれぐらい。（左のは比較用びっくらポン）

中央の飛び出ているType-CオスコネクタにNintendo Switchを、メガネのマークの方にRokid Maxを、電気のマークの方にACアダプタを接続します。

Rokid Hub使用感想

使用した感想ですが、

（そこそこ）大画面ゲームプレイ最高〜😄！

とはいえデメリットもあります。 Switchでのプレイには特に3DoFに対応していないので、画面固定ができません。 と言うことは必然的に画面越しを観る際は目線のみを動かしてみることになります。 これは結構見づらいと言うか、疲れます。 多分ですが、中央に情報が集中しているようなゲームならそこまで気にならないかも？ 少なくとも自分がよくやるようなアクションゲームの場合、ステージのはじによらない限り中央にキャラクターが表示されるので、あまり気になりませんでした。 シミュレーションゲームとかだと気になりそうです。 あと1人称ゲーは酔いそうと買いてる��も見ましたので後で検証してみたいです。

あと気になったのは、Switch側の接続部分がちょっと浅くてぐらついていた点です。 接続自体は途中で切れることもなかったので安定は指定そうでしたが、ちょっと心配。

あとはSwitch接続時ではなくてiPad接続時に確認したのですが、ちょっと熱いかもしれないです。

それ以外は特には気にならなかったかな？ とりあえず、Switchのゲームを人の目を気にせず大画面で楽しむ目的が達成できたので個人的には大満足です。

まとめ

参考になるかは分からないですが、私が買って数日使った感想をまとめました。 8割方満足しています！買ってよかった。

これ系のデバイスはまだ仕事で使うのは難しそうですが、映画視聴や一部ゲームならいいと感じたので、それらに魅力を感じる方は購入を検討してみてもいいかもしれませんね。（無責任）
