On Ronit Roy's dark time, Rohit Roy âIt was a volatile phase for him because there was no workâ
With Kasauti Zindagi Kay, Ronit Roy's career was given a new lease on life.
Since more than three decades ago, Ronit Roy has acted frequently in both films and television. The actor has established a niche for himself and, most significantly, has avoided becoming stereotypical in any one role. But there was once a time in his career when he was going through a dark and dismal period. Rohit Roy, an actor and Ronit's brother, talked about this experience the former had.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Rohit disclosed, "The phase that he (Ronit) was going through, it was just me with him, there was no one else. It was a very volatile phase for him. It was volatile because there was no work. Industry had rejected him. His friends would tell me âRohit, you are a star on TV, but your brother wonât make it"
After making his feature debut with Bank Robbery, Ronit went on to become well-known in 1992 with the love romance Jaan Tere Naam. Back then, "Akkha India Jaanta Hai," the movie's smash hit song, had also become a national anthem. But after a few more films, Ronit's success vanished. But the popular TV programmes Kasauti Zindagi Kay and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi gave his career a boost.
Although Rohit is his younger brother, at that time he had to act as his older brother. Then Rohit said, "I was his older brother. People who see him now donât remember that phase. Because his film audience⊠They went away with the film. The viewers he gained after Kasautii, they donât know about his struggle. For them, Ronit Roy is Rishabh Bajaj (his character from Kasauti Zindagi Kay).â
In the 2017 film Kaabil, which starred Hrithik Roshan, Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy shared the screen. It's interesting to note that both brothers had bad roles in the film.

From Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 to Singham Again: 7 sequels releasing in 2024!
Just as 2023 was inundated with sequels (10 in all, including the Netflix Lust Stories anthology film), 2024, as of now, is set to have eight of them, plus a spin-off. As of now, as per reports, only twoâStree 2 and Raid 2âare likely to be true sequels, just like Gadar 2 and Tiger 3 last year. Last year, these sequels were crowded between June and December, but this year, they will begin from February itself. And this time, T-Series and Jio Studios are involved as producers in three movies each.
Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 (earlier film in 2010) The next in the Balaji Telefilmsâ bold franchise that introduced Rajkummar Rao and was Nushrratt Bharucchaâs first hit, the film was to release in February itself, but has now been postponed to April 19. Dibakar Banerjee is writer-director and co-producer again. As of now, Nimrit Ahluwalia, Anupam Joardar and the foreign actress Rossana Elsa Scugugia are the only cast known.
Singham Again (earlier films in 2010 and 2014) The iconic Rohit Shetty character of Singham will be back after Singham (that started Rohitâs Cop Universe) and Singham Returns, on Independence Day. Kareena Kapoor Khan also âreturnsâ as his wife from the latter film. Deepika Padukone is the newest (and first female) addition to Rohitâs Cops, while the other members of his Cop UniverseâSimmba a.k.a. Ranveer Singh and Sooryavanshi a.k.a. Akshay Kumar will also feature here. Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor and (if buzz is true) Tigerâs father Jackie Shroff will come into this patriotic saga!
Jio Studios co-produces this spectacular production. But more importantly, this is a chance for Rohit to redeem himself after Cirkus. A small point: Singham also made a mark in cameos in Simmba and Sooryavanshi, so he will be seen for the fifth time here!
Stree 2 (earlier film in 2018) The new film once again features all the five loved characters in StreeâShraddha Kapoor in the title role, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee. Stree was the first film in the Dinesh Vijan Horror Universe, and the sequel is again directed by Amar Kaushik. This Jio Studios co-production will also be an August release.
MetroâŠIn Dino (earlier film in 2007) This yearâs sequels will be known for their ensemble casts. Anurag Basu repeats only Konkona Sen Sharma from the nine lead players of Life In AâŠMetro, and adds Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Fatima Sana Shaikh. Pritam, his constant music composer, is in again. The first film had an unusual concept and theme and its music too was employed in an unusual way. The same is expected with this T-Series Films co-production.
Badass Ravikumar (earlier film, The Xpose, in 2014) This can be called a spin-off, or a sequel with a different title! Prabhu Dheva actually plays antagonist to Himesh Reshammiyaâs lead character of Ravikumar, reprised from the earlier movie. The film is also produced and co-written by Himesh and has music by him, but it also marks the all-rounderâs debut as a director!
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (earlier films in 2007 and 2022) Anees Bazmee, director of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (which netted Rs. 185 crores in India) is helming the third part of the franchise that started with Priyadarshanâs cult horror comedy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, which was his last Hindi hit, in 2007. He repeats his 2022 lead pair, Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan, with Madhuri Dixit Nene, Vidya Balan from the first film in the franchise, Naseeruddin Shah and Elnaaz Nouruzi as co-star. The music for this November release is likely to be scored by the franchiseâs composer, Pritam. The film is again produced by T-Series Films.
Raid 2 (earlier film in 2018) Ajay Devgn once again plays an upright Income-Tax official in this sequel to Raid (a Rs. 100 crores grosser), which is helmed again by Raj Kumar Gupta. Vaani Kapoor is the new leading lady, while Riteish Deshmukh is the antagonist. This is yet another T-Series franchise.
Welcome to the Jungle (earlier films in 2007 and 2015) Ahmed Khan directs this multi-star adventure that will try and reprise the whacky mood of its predecessors. Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, child artiste Vrihi Kodvara, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and more are in the cast, including singers Daler Mehndi and Mika Singh. Jio Studios join Firoz Nadiadwala in producing the third part in his franchise of Welcome and Welcome Back, with Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal repeated from the earlier movie. What remains to be seen is whether they will be playing the same iconic characters of Rajiv and Dr. Ghunghroo, which they had done earlier, with Paresh featuring in both instalments though Akshay was only there in the first.

Shehzada: The Film Review
Kartik Aaryan in Shehzada film (Credit- Gulshan kumar & T-Series Films) Plot: This film tells the tale of a boy who, after being born, is raised by an employee of his parents' business rather than by his biological parents. Has another child taken his place? Why, if it's replaced? Did the worker substitute the boss's child for his own? Will he ever learn who his real parents are? You must watch the film to find out these answers. Tone and Theme: The tone of this movie is action drama and its sole goal is to provide only poor entertainment, nothing else. Characters and Acting: Kartik Aryan's portrayal of Bantu is passable; it feels like a clichéd old movie. His performance is clichéd and lacks originality. The only noteworthy things Kriti Sanon did in the movie as Samara were singing two or three songs and wear shorts; she was utterly wasted. Paresh Rawal's performance as Valmiki is likewise passable; nothing particularly noteworthy about it. Manisha Koirala's performance as Yashu is likewise unimpressive; it seems incredibly forced, and it is incomprehensible that such a brilliant and gifted actress would take on such a part. Although the supporting cast members play decent roles, they do nothing to advance the plot of the movie. Direction: Rohit Dhawan, the actor Varun Dhawan's older brother, is the film's director. Prior to this, he directed the mediocre movies Desi Boyz (2011) and Dishoom (2016), and this one stayed below average. This movie is a remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020), a Telugu film. Despite adopting the original story and screenplay, which was a blockbuster, the film is a failure and has been completely rejected by the audiences. There is nothing new in the story; moreover, it feels like every character has been forced into the movie. Additionally, the screenplay is very weak; however, the dialogue is passable. Sanjay F Gupta and Sudeep Chatterjee's cinematography is excellent, and the depictions of Mumbai, Delhi, and Mauritius are stunning. Ritesh Soni's editing is OK, but the movie lacks a plot, even in the interval, and at points it seems to be dragging. Background Score: Everything is fine with Julius Packiam. Splendid Production design by Suresh Selvarajan. Sound Design: Parikshit Lalwani does a decent job as well. Pritam's music is really poor; only one or two of the songs are passable. Character Dheela 2.0 is good, as is Chedkhaniya. There is nothing particularly noteworthy in the lyrics. Climax: It's all right. Viewpoint: Exclusively for Timepass! Only those who have patience should watch this film, otherwise don't watch it. Rating: 4/10 Drawbacks: How is it possible for the owner's and employee's children to be born on the same day? This is only feasible in the Hindi film industry, and the exchange of children is only feasible in Hindi films. All of these mistakes can be disregarded because they are fictitious and should only be regarded as amusement. Since there is nothing in this movie, I was unable to write much about it. I apologize for not properly researching and writing about a movie. [ad_1] Virat Kohli after getting out in the second innings at the MCG (PC: Debasis Sen) RevSportz Comment With Australia having battled back into the ascendancy in the tussle for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, some of those who once wore the baggy green have wasted no time in putting the boot in. The 295-run thrashing in Perth seems many moons ago now, and the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are squarely in the crosshairs after three dismal outings in Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne. Michael Slater, cavalier opener in the team that took over West Indiesâ mantle as the worldâs greatest side, suggested after Australiaâs 184-run win at the MCG that Kohli had become something of a protected species. While pointing out that the much-trolled Rohit Sharma had scored more runs and centuries in the past five years, Slater said: âKohli is genuinely the safest guy ever.â He isnât factually wrong. Over the past half-decade, Rohit has more runs (2,160 to 2,005), a better average (36 to 31.32) and more hundreds (6 to 3) than Kohli. But thatâs where the comparison stops making sense. A career isnât just a five-year stretch, and Kohli had all-time-great numbers until his post-Covid slump. Rohit, despite his heroics in white-ball cricket, has never been in the âgreatâ conversation when it comes to Test cricket. Kohliâs nose-diving numbers do, however, make you question just how much selectors and fans alike live in the past, and how much perceptions are coloured by nostalgia. Letâs face it, five years is no blink of an eye either. Kohli has played 38 Tests in that time. His numbers are comparable to those of Pankaj Roy (2442 runs at 32.56), Ajit Wadekar (2213 runs at 31.07) and Chetan Chauhan (2084 at 31.57) â each of whom was a solid Test batsman without ever threatening to break into the highest echelon. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Virat Kohli after the loss at the MCG (PC: Debasis Sen) Why, then, such a long rope? Or is it just the monstrous wheels of commerce in action? Our guess is that Indiaâs cricket fans, like Marcel Proust, are In Search of Lost Time. You see, the half-decade when Kohli was king, he really was majestic, as gifted and dominant as any player the sport has seen. He had a modest beginning. By the time he came home from England in 2014 â a dismal aggregate of 134 runs from 10 innings prompted a visit to Sachin Tendulkar in Mumbai, and some technical tweaks â Kohli averaged 39.46 from 29 Tests, with six centuries. A few months later, he went to Australia and was a player transformed. Over the next five years and 55 Tests, he smashed 21 centuries while averaging 63.65. He proved a point against Jimmy Anderson and âfriendsâ in England in 2018, and there were sublime centuries in South Africa and Australia as well. On home soil, his batting against England in the 4-0 rout in 2016 was straight out of some video game. With the possible exception of the great Viv Richards, few made run-scoring look so easy. It is that Kohli avatar that his admirers still cling to. We saw glimpses of it in the second innings in Perth and even during the first dig in Melbourne when a couple of drives pinged off the bat with pristine timing. But increasingly, such moments have become just that â moments. Innings of substance have been few and far between. The great Tendulkar didnât score a hundred in his last 23 Tests. Richards managed just one in his last 19. Once you lose it at a certain age â Kohli turned 36 in November â getting it back is near-impossible. As he heads to the Sydney Cricket Ground â where his hero made three centuries and an 80 in five Tests â Kohli will know better than anyone that time, that thief who steals from us all, is running out.
