salt unrelated to the show im watching under the read more
ok like (kayfabe hat on) obvs mina should become aew champion and mariah should beat her for the title with a supprotive toni by her side in wembley but . (kayfabe hat off) obvs mina is gonna lose to toni but people are still speculating about her going to aew full time and i dont. want that.
she’d be booked Really Solidly for a good couple months and then get the same treatment as the other joshis. maybe she gets a proper feud with mariah and/or toni, maybe she gets to build up another star like anna jay or show us a new side of (spins wheel) kiera hogan in a good program. maybe she will be taking on some of the greener but promising girlies like anna and skye and aminata and maybe she’d give tay melo a really good return feud, to help get all these women get their reps in.
but by then tk will get distracted and find another woman to focus on and the evil network or whatever still wont allow them to book the women’s matches for 50% of the screentime so mina gets forgotten. best hope for her is she gets put in a stable with mariah or saraya so she gets to look pretty and dance when she walks them out on the ring (and god she would be GREAT at that dont get me wrong) but she won’t be booked in matches consistently enough for my personal liking.
i just fucking love mina man. i havent kept up on stardom lately so i dont understand why shes in a seemingly random tag match on the conversion (maybe this is why the main champ shouldnt also have a trios belt cause when is maika ever gonna defend that on a ppv?) but she fucking steals the show man. she will put her entire fighting h-cup gravure pussy into whatever match shes in and she never comes across as bored or like she's aware she's on the undercard of a show. aew just doesnt DO enough womens matches to allow for them to put on women that arent in an active storyline (though roh is great for that if you want to see more american womens wrestling!!) and i dont trust tk to book her into good storylines like, a year from now.

Bang Bang Scissor Gang
Tumblr media
I'm not sure how to feel about this "supergroup" business. I mean, the crowd loves it and it sounds like it'll advance the plot, so it's probably a good thing, but it seems a little off somehow. I'm going to write about it for a bit and see if I can sort this out.
So I guess the main issue here is that Bullet Club Gold doesn't feel like it's been around all that long, and now they're combining with another group. Also, it's unclear whether Gold is an official wing of the main Bullet Club, or some sort of renegade unit, like the nWo Wolfpac.
My pet theory is that AEW is just getting as much out of the Bullet Club IP as they can while they have this agreement with NJPW to use it. Eventually the deal will end or be renegotiated, and New Japan won't let them use the name anymore, which is why AEW keeps referring to the group with the nickname "The Bang Bang Gang." If something falls through and they can't call it "Bullet Club Gold", there's a backup name ready to go.
Actually, maybe this supergroup angle is that scenario finally playing out. They're not calling it "Bullet Club Ass Boys" or "Scissor Club Gold". They're calling it "Bang Bang Scissor Gang". I was sort of wondering if this means Billy and the Acclaimed have joined Bullet Club, but this may actually be a transition to get Jay White's group away from BC altogether. If and when this union ends, Jay can just start calling it "The Bang Bang Gang" again like that's what it was always called.
From a storytelling perspective, I'm not sure why they're setting up two trios to join forces against a group of just four guys. Undisputed Kingdom is their common enemy, but right now it's just Wardlow, Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, and Mike Bennett. Adam Cole's injured, but even if he gets cleared, they're still outnumbered. Maybe Kyle O'Reily or Bobby Fish will join at some point? Oh, and I forgot about Juice Robinson. Assuming he's on board with the merger, that puts BBSG up to seven guys. Then you factor in Cardblade and Juiceboard and things get really nutty.
The motives are bit wonky too. On paper, Bang Bang Scissor Gang's main purpose is to take on Undisputed Kingdom, to avenge all the beatdowns they got during the "Who is the Devil?" storyline. Except, Undisputed Kingdom doesn't seem to care much, since their goal is to capture a bunch of titles. Which works out, since BBSG holds the AEW and ROH trios belts... except UK doesn't seem very interested in trios gold.
On the other hand, BBSG wants more titles as well. Tag titles for the Acclaimed and Gunn Club, a singles belt for Billy, and nothing short of the AEW world title for Jay White. This sounds a lot like Adam Cole's manifesto when he did his first promo to introduce Undisputed Kingdom. He didn't just want belts, he had specific titles picked out for specific guys on his team. Taven and Bennett are already ROH tag champs, so they're covered, then he wants the International title on Roddy, and Warlow's job is t become AEW world champ so he can hand it over to Adam Cole when Cole's cleared to wrestle again.
So that's a cool way to keep this rivalry alive. They're two big groups who already have titles and crave more, and they can challenge each other or interfere with each other's ambitions. The grudge that started all of this is fine, but it's hard to recall those beatdowns from last year, especially when everyone was blaming it on MJF at the time. Billy taking an International title shot from Roddy keeps things fresh. Plus they can swap the tag and trios belts that both sides already control.
Or... this just peters out with BBSG imploding and setting up some trios feud with Billy/Acclaimed taking on Jay/Gunn Club for one or both sets of trios belts. That sounds fine, but I feel like that already happened at some point? This supergroup could be a way to build to a more epic six-man tag match later, and that's fine, but I really hope it doesn't play out that way. I guess that's what makes me apprehensive of this storyline. Like, if they're only building up this supergroup just to set up a trios title program a few months from now, then it'll feel like a real waste. They could do BC Gold vs. Scissor Party whenever they want. Both sides are pretty eager to issue and accept challenges.
This seems like a long term story. Both groups have declared their intentions very clearly, and yet they've both taken their time on achieving those goals. It took like three weeks to get Jay on board with BBSG, and Warlow isn't exactly calling out Samoa Joe. So it feels like a potboiler, except it also feels very thrown-together, like they took a bunch of guys and threw them together into this supergroup war that would probably need most of a year to do properly.
But I guess that makes sense, considering how this all started with Cole and MJF, and they're both out of action for a while. Whatever the original plans were, the new plan has to involve different players, and everybody in BBSG is a solid choice for that. Well, everyone but Juice Robinson, that guy sucks. I hope he comes back with some new personality where he took an oath of silence or something. Also, he should wear a luchador mask so I don't have to look at his goofy face.
I guess my feeling here is "cautious optimism", because this angle looks really promising and could lead to a lot of great matches, but it also could get really dumb if it ends too quickly or suffers from poor planning. But AEW did just book a round robin tournament, so I guess I shouldn't be too concerned...

Dynamite 26/10/23
A Gift for Sting
Tumblr media
Dynamite opened up with a fired up MJF. We had appearances from Adam Cole (via phone), Roderick Strong and the Man in the Devil Mask.
The action began with MJF defending his Dynamite Diamond Ring against Juice Robinson. Juice received a vicious ass kicking outside and around the ring from the get to. The victory came for Max when the Gunns goofed up, giving the Champ enough time to slip the ring on and sock Juice in the jaw.
Post-Match saw a beatdown on MJF with Strong and The Kingdom making the save. Roddy stayed in his wheelchair while The Kingdom got easily discarded. But do not fear, The Acclaimed is here as they cleared the ring. The furious Gunns issued a challenge for the ROH Tag Team Titles at Full Gear. MJF takes the offer but wants a piece of all four members before the PPV. Next week it – in the main event – it will be The Bullet Club Gold ve. MJF and three partners of his choosing. Right away Roddy and The Kingdom as dismissed, followed by he Acclaimed. This begs the question, who will team with MJF? The pressure is stacked as Kenny Omega comes out and makes a challenge for the Triple B. MJF accepts the match for this Saturday on Collision. Later, Samoa Joe offered to team with MJF under one condition; that he is given a title shot.
Next was Hook teaming with RVD to take on the Dark Order’s Alex Reynolds and John Silver. There’s no clear direction for The Dark Order. The main idea is to shine the light on Hook and for RVD to help ignite the crowd.
Tony Schiavone in is the ring to give Sting a gift from Tony Khan. That gift is Ric Flair. I can't say I'm disappointed. I never expected Flair to be in an AEW ring to be honest. The Nature Boy says some very sweet words to Sting. Christian Cage, along with Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne came out and interrupted the feel-good moment. Christian destroyed Flair verbally and issues as challenge at Full Gear. The bout will be a 6-man tag team match. Fortunately, Flair won’t be fighting with Sting and Darby Allin.  Later, both men try to recruit Adam Copeland who refuses to fight Christian. Sting attempts to talk some sense into Copeland. I do think Adam will join the fight at Full Gear, but I sense a heel turn.
Chris Jericho had a sit down interview. He vows to get revenge on Don Callis. Jericho states he has lots of friends and some of them are bigger than Will Hobbs. Who is the Ocho talking about? Paul Wight of course! Nah, that wouldn’t be it. Maybe it’s not size he is referring to but star power.
The ROH Trios Tag Team Titles were on the line as The Young Buck & Adam Page defended against The Hardy Boyz and Brother Zay. I’m not a fan of the ROH belts appearing on AEW. I don’t watch ROH, so I’m not following the journey of these belts. The Bucks and Hangman retained in a non-exciting bout. Before a celebration could begin, we cut to Swerve and Prince Nana breaking into Page’s home. Both men walk through the house. Swerve made his way Adam’s baby boy’s room. It was quite a uncomfortable moment as Strickland gifts the baby with his t-shirt. He vows that the baby will one day owe him something. This feud has become personal, and it must end in blood.
Hikaru Shida defended her AEW Women's title against Ruby Soho. Early on there was a botched cross body and from that point on the match never took off. There was a moment where I thought Soho was going to win, but that's as far as the drama took me. If the moves were tightened up, I think this would have been a solid bout. Toni Storm and her new butler, Luthor made an appearance on stage for an exchange of stares.
Orange Cassidy and Kazuchika Okada took on Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli in a very good main event. The crowd were behind Orange and Okada. The ending was odd tough. Bryan was left holding his face in a kayfabe injury while the BCC came to his aid. Things were getting tense as Hook and Best Friends came Oranges side.
Most of the show was setting up Full Gear and continuing stories. The wrestlers who ate the pins are kind of in purgatory. What do you do with The Hardyz, Ruby and Dark Order at this point?

Note
There’s a rumour going around that, because his match with Bray is off, Bobby Lashley might wrestle Brian Cage at WM, which is doable because Cage is currently out of contact in spite of being 1/3 of the ROH Trios Tag Champs.
All I ask is that, if this is true, please let Big E referee and call it the Big Meaty Men Slapping Meat Invitational.
Okay, yes.
And not only that, make this “Big Meaty Men Slapping Meat Invitational” a new Wrestlemania tradition.

Konosuke Takeshita
Samoa Joe (ROH television champion)

Unranked: AR Fox, Big Bill, Brock Anderson, Dalton Castle, Daniel Garcia, El Hijo del Vikingo (AAA mega champion), Ethan Page, Gravity, Isiah Kassidy, Jake Hager, Komander, Lee Johnson, Metalik*, Nick Wayne, Scorpio Sky, Serpentico, Shawn Spears, Shane Taylor, Swerve Strickland, Tony Nese, Wheeler Yuta
* Not listed on AEW's official roster
Feels like a lot of shakeup here, for a variety of reasons: The departure of CM Punk and the suspension of Jack Perry, MJF and Adam Cole becoming a hot babyface team, the dissolution of Chris Jericho's stable, and multiple guys returning to prominence on Collision.
It might seem weird to rank Danielson as the top babyface when he's clearly part of a heel faction. All I know is everybody loved him at Forbidden Door, and he was clearly playing babyface against Starks this weekend. Does that mean a turn or a breakup in the Blackpool Combat Club's future? I doubt it. Either way, I'm sure Danielson will be back to kicking puppies or whatever soon enough.
It's striking to me how Cassidy and Kingston have risen up through the ranks, but I also think it's worth callint out how pivotal Samoa Joe has become. He's become a fixture on Collision and ROH, and now he's mixing it up with MJF. It's strange to me that he's running around with ROH's midcard title when he's being pushed ahead of Castagnoli. Maybe those two need to face off one of these days.
Men's tag team division - babyfaces
Better Than You Bay Bay - MJF (AEW men's world champion) & Adam Cole (ROH tag team champions)
FTR - Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler (AEW tag team champions)
The Young Bucks - Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson
The Hardys - Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy
Darby Allin & Sting
Best Friends - Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta
Lucha Bros. - Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix
Action Andretti & Darius Martin
The Outrunners - Truth Magnum* & Turbo Floyd*
Men's tag team division - heels
The Gunns - Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn
Aussie Open - Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher
John Silver & Alex Reynolds
Mike Santana & Angel Ortiz
Matt Menard & Angelo Parker
Vincent* & Dutch*
The Wingmen - Peter Avalon & Ryan Nemeth*
* Not listed on AEW's official roster
I'm actually not sure if the Outrunners are supposed to be faces or heels, but I like 'em, so there. I'm also not sure how long Rey Fenix is supposed to be out selling the injury angle from two weeks ago.
Conspicuous by their absence on this list is the Kigndom, Matt Taven and Mike Bennett, who are obviously being set up for a big match with Cole and MJF. At this point I don't see anyone else taking the ROH tag title from the champs, but very little about the Cole/MJF story has gone the way I expected. Maybe they could headline Final Battle in December?
As for the AEW tag title, I assume FTR vs. Gunns is the next step, but there's probably another FTR-Bucks showdown coming sooner or later. If Santana and Ortiz are really sticking together, they need to get back in the title hunt. I suspect Silver and Reynolds are out of the running after losing last night--they'll probably get back to trios matches with Evil Uno.
Men's trios division - babyfaces
Max Caster & Anthony Bowens & Billy Gunn (AEW trios champions)
Bronson* & Boulder* & Jacked Jameson*
Men's trios division - heels
Malakai Black & Brody King & Buddy Matthews
Brian Cage & Bishop Kaun* & Toa Liona* (ROH trios champions)
Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal & Satnam Singh
QT Marshall (AAA Latin American champion) & Johnny TV & Aaron Solo
Kip Sabian & The Butcher & The Blade
* Not listed on AEW's official roster
It's still hard to tell which trios are sticking together long term, and which ones are just thrown together for a couple of matches before going their separate ways again. As it stands, though, we've got a few heel teams for Billy and the Acclaimed to fight for a while. Cage's team has mostly defended their ROH title in glorified squash matches; if they're building them up to be unseated by a serious team, I have no idea when that will happen.
Women's singles division - babyfaces
Britt Baker
Kris Statlander (AEW TBS champion)
Hikaru Shida
Willow Nightingale
Skye Blue
Women's singles division - heels
Saraya (AEW women's world champion)
Athena (ROH women's world champion)
Toni Storm
Ruby Soho
Nyla Rose
Anna Jay
Taya Valkyrie
Mercedes Martinez
Diamante
Marina Shafir
Unranked: Emi Sakura, The Bunny
The heel side looks very strong until you recall that many of them have only had one televised AEW match all month. Nevertheless, it feels like it's time for some women to turn face, and I suppose the breakup of Storm, Saraya, and Soho will help in that regard. Thing is, the women's roster has more than enough talent to get 10 faces and 10 heels on TV regularly; they just don't for some reason. Maybe if Mercedes Mone comes in that will change, but experience has taught me that it'll take more than that.
Only wrestled in ROH matches in past 30 days: Angelico, Brandon Cutler, Christopher Daniels, Evil Uno, Griff Garrison, Josh Woods, Kiera Hogan, Lee Moriarty, Leila Grey, Leyla Hirsch, Luther, Madison Rayne, Matt Sydal, Shawn Dean
Most of the names here are not what you'd call key players on the weekly ROH shows. In other words, the real backbone of the ROH roster is mostly people wrestlers who aren't exclusive to either brand, like Athena, Willow, Joe, Dalton, etc. That's working out as far as the quality of both brands, but I'm not sure it's a good strategy for establishing a unique brand identity for ROH.
No televised AEW or ROH matches in over 30 days: Abadon, Andrade El Idolo, Anthony Ogogo, Ari Daivari, Colt Cabana, Dustin Rhodes, Harley Cameron, Julia Hart, Lance Archer, Matt Taven, Michael Nakazawa, Mike Bennett, Nick Comoroto, Parker Bordreaux, Penelope Ford, Preston Vance, Red Velvet, Riho, Rush, Sammy Guevara, Serena Deeb, Stu Grayson, Wardlow, Yuka Sakazaki, Zack Clayton
Part-time/semi-retired: Kota Ibushi, Will Ospreay*, Paige Vanzant, Paul Wight, Rebel, Rob Van Dam*, Sonjay Dutt, Stokely Hathaway
* Not listed on AEW's official roster
Inactive
Bandido (left arm - broken wrist)
Danhausen (right shoulder - pectoralis tear)
Dante Martin (left leg - unspecified injury)
Jack Perry (indefinite suspension)
Jade Cargill (personal leave)
Jamie Hayter (right shoulder - unspecified injury)
Kyle O'Reilly (neck - herniated spinal disc)
Mark Briscoe (knee - unspecified injury)

Who do you think are the next AEW/ROH champs for each title?
Let's see if I can remember them all ;)
ROH trios - I'd like to see Dalton Castle and The Boys win them back. If not them, I would say Top Flight with AR Fox would be fun.
ROH Television Title - I'm going outside the box on this one and picking Miro. He's gotta come back eventually and a Miro/Joe feud would be fun.
ROH Tag titles - The Kingdom. They're more ROH based and Maria is a good talker for when they start doing their weekly shows(if Tony ever remembers he promised us weekly ROH shows).
ROH Women's Champion - Marina's had a few chances but I don't think she's quite ready. But if they wanted to further the tension between her and Nyla, I would say Nyla should be next.
ROH Pure Title - No one. It's Yuta's forever. But if I have to pick, someone like Lee Moriarty. He and Yuta could have a great feud, maybe changing it between each other as they put the pure division on the map.
ROH World title - Joe, after he drops the TV title to Miro. Or Miro when he comes back.
AEW FTW - I'm not sure if Hook will ever drop it since it's his dad's title, but if he did, I think it will be to someone he's already shown respect to, like Danhausen or Jungle Boy.
AEW All Atlantic title - Takeshita. Especially since he's still signed with DDT too. Have him and and do a circuit with the title as he defends it everywhere.
AEW Trios - House of Black. It's gotta be them.
AEW Tag titles - I really want to see Claudio and Yuta, or any variation of the BCC win them, but I don't think Tony will do that. Now that Death triangle don't have the trios titles, I wouldn't be shocked to see The Lucha Bros win the tag titles. Especially if they're turning heel.
AEW TBS title - They made it clear it was supposed to be Kris before she got hurt, and if she's not close, then I say either Willow or Ruby. They're already feuding with Tay and Anna, throw in Penelope and The Bunny and you have a solid midcard for the women's division.
AEW TNT title - Hobbs. Darby is best when he's being thrown again by big dudes who want to kill him. He's already beaten Joe, Wardlow is a face and probably busy with Joe, and Hobbs been getting those showcase videos.
AEW women's title - Jamie will probably have it for a while so it's hard to say. There's plenty of women who can step up in that time. But with picking Jade to lose her title, she could be next in line to run the whole division.
AEW World title aka Triple B - Like Jamie, I expect MJF to hold the title for a while. Unless the ratings crash and Tony decides to do something drastic. I would say Wardlow here. Spend the time heating him back up, position him as the only person MJF is actively avoiding, not just making jump through hoops but actually avoiding because he remembers what happened last time they were in the ring together.

Well I can at least say this episode of dynamite has effectively killed all my worry fear and nervousness brought on by the attack on Bryan last Saturday.
Gonna rant and complain under the cut
God I need it to be Thursday already I need roh to cleanse my palate from this burnt offering of shit tk served to me
Fucking callis Sammy Jericho ftr Jeff Jarrett 1 women’s match and it was far too short I…. I need to go read some fics to remind me what characterization and plot is again cause this felt directionless.
Why couldn’t Nigel have won in all in if we are never gonna talk about Christian killswitch and Jack all being so close to each other for the first time in so freak long?
That’s one of the only stories from Saturday we could have actually explored that didn’t involve someone dying or being arrested for attempted murder
And why is tk giving out world title opportunities to everyone who asks for it. Trust me I truly do want Bryan vs Nigel (the Asterix saying oh if Bryan shows up and can compete like… ya’ll better not fucking try it) but like how many people now have a shot at the champ?
And then the tag division god the tag division is in shambles
And still no word on what’s gonna happen with the trios titles I didn’t see them wearing the belts tonight or bcc merch which made me sick
I thought the writing team was like 27 deep now that’s more than enough for a group to handle trio tag women tnt title continental Atlantic and world titles like… what are y’all doing?
Honestly I don’t think we’ll ever get a mixed tag or women’s tag if we can’t even fix the men’s division
Like I get it tk loves playing with the vintage dolls he gets to put all his custom belts on them and do the storylines he wanted since he was a kid but like you have new dolls who chose you you wanted you you can not ignore them and throw them to the side constantly
Private party don’t deserve this!!!!

AEW REVOLUTION 2023 PREDICTIONS
(Predictions in RED)
Mark Briscoe & Lucha Bros vs. Ari Daivari & Varsity Athletes (Zero Hour)
Fairly standard and a nice feel-good match to kick it all off. Definitely worth a watch cause that Rey Fenix and Pentagon Jr. are fucking out of their damn mind.
Christian Cage vs. Jungle Jack Perry in The Final Burial
Calling it now, this is going to be a dark horse for the best match of the night. It's going to get wild and it's going to get bloody. Unless they're genuinely going to put a belt on Christian, I can't see any benefit to him winning this. He's not been on tv all that much and has nothing going for him with any other wrestlers. And Jack REALLY needs this so he doesn't fade into obscurity in 2023.
Chris Jericho vs. Ricky Starks
As much as a love both these guys, this is going to be my toilet break match. I honestly think it's going to be a by the numbers boring singles match with some hoakey interference by the JAS, which might mean CJ will win, but really, it should he Ricky.
Samoa Joe (c) vs. Wardlow for the TNT title
Easiest prediction of the night. With ROH starting on TV again, Joe is going to be going full-time on that with the TV Title, so Wardlow naturally will reclaim his TNT Title and be featured on TV more. Plus the big man needs to do something.
The Elite (c) vs. House of Black for the Trios championship
Now, do I think HOB are going to win? No. Bit do I want them to? Absofuckinglutely! Fuck me sideways, what the flying fuck do those 3 guys need to do to get not only screen time but a title run of some kind. Fuck The Elite, they'll be fine regardless of what happens. House of Black desperately need this and the crowd will be absolutely (pardon the pun) DYNAMITE for this.
The Gunns vs. The Acclaimed vs. Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal vs. Orange Cassidy & Danhausen for the AEW Tag titles
I'm going with my boys The Acclaimed cause I love them so much. But using my brain I can see The Gunns screwing their way to retain or I can even see "Triple J" taking it. I wouldn't be too bothered either way tbh, cause I know deep down The Acclaimed will be champs again one day. So I'm here for a good time.
Jamie Hayter vs. Ruby Soho vs. Saraya for the AEW Women’s championship
I ain't saying nothin' bad about my lassie Jamie, she's the best! But I'd love to see Ruby sell her soul to the devil to win the belt also :3
Jon Moxley vs. Hangman Page in a Texas Death Match
Oh ya fucker this is going to be an incredible match, and it's going to be brutal to say the least. If one of these guys come out without a long term injury I'll be surprised. Now Mox is MY GUY and I'd love for him to win, but my brain knows that it's best for business that Adam win this thing. There's a great storyline to be born if Mox wins, but there's also great momentum to be gained from Adam winning.
MJF (c) vs. Bryan Danielson in an Iron Man match for the AEW World championship
Ay caramba, this is going to down in AEW history I'm calling it now. I can see Max getting a 3-0 lead and Bryan slowly but surely clawing it back to clutch win it at the last possible second. OR DRAW. With Max thinking he retains only for Tony Khan to come out and make it sudden death.
Either way it's just right that Danielson wins this, he deserves one more title reign especially in AEW. And even though nobody wants to admit it, we're all getting a bit bored of Max real fast.
Can't wait to watch this, it's gonna be a slobberknocker folks!

☕ say it, Sarah. Say why the UE reunion in AEW has been, shall we say, less than ideal.
TOO MUCH ELITE INVOLVEMENT BAYBEEEEE
i'm one of like. three people total on this site who does not give a shit about any of the elite lmao and if that's not enough to make you keep scrolling, the rest is under the cut
i would LOVE a clear explanation of why redragon would ever willingly team up with the bucks! who they HATE!! (granted, after recent events we may get more insight into this as i assume they will now reveal that it was all an elaborate plan to eventually backstab them which is the ONLY way it makes sense, but it took far too long to get to this point primarily due to go-nowhere booking whilst waiting for kenny's presumed return and the trios titles to be introduced)
in addition to that, the last time redragon saw adam was either in 2017 roh or 2021 nxt depending on what is "canon" in aew - both of which were not, let's say, on the best of terms.
not just for kyle, who obviously was fresh off blood feuds with adam both times, but also for bobby. (yes yes i know most of the iwc think he's older than time itself and is the worst wrestler in the history of wrestling but he's part of all this too <3 so sorry to remind u that rdgn have been a tag team for 10 years and so sorry to remind u that he was in ue from the start <3) who himself feuded with adam in 2017 for the roh world title (sidenote: it's a fun feud and i would recommend checking out their match at manhatten mayhem, and bobby's promos because he's actually very good at them) and who should also have some major unresolved issues with adam due to the implosion of ue while bobby was sidelined due to that freak injury in their last war games match.
whilst there have been a couple of hints that maybe kyle doesn't fully trust adam this time (hopefully he's learned his lesson after 4 betrayals :/ ), it seems like that's going to be disregarded now for the inevitable elite vs ue super mega implosion showdown and then trios champs run, once adam and kyle are cleared. which has also unfortunately really put a damper on everything, but i'm not going to complain about that because it's not a Booking Choice lmao it's just... really shitty timing and injuries always suck
i know this part is very subjective and probably doesn't align with much of what ue fans as a whole enjoy, but i personally wanted to see redragon do their own thing for a while in the tag division before eventually reuniting with adam to have a proper ue run once some more time had passed.
overall, i just think that there have been too many extra people involved who ultimately don't really interest me, especially if they're making the elite the faces here. it's also taken too much of nothing happening to get to this point. why haven't we seen redragon be more dominant in the tag division in the build? how have they been established as credible threats, rather than adam's lackeys?

Bit of fantasy booking here, but looking at some of the lower/mid card factions in AEW right now I feel like you could clean up and move around a few people and i’m always a big fan of
I think big Nick Comoroto and Shotty Lee are much better than being geeks in the factory, and I would like to see big Nick as Matt Taven and Mike Bennett’s heater in the Kingdom (Alongside Adam Cole eventually too)
I would have Shotty Lee Johnson become Samoa Joe’s protégé like Jay Lethal was back in 2005 in ROH.
Keep QT/Aaron Solo/Cole Karter as a lower card trios faction, theres too many bodies in the factory currently imo.
They need to bite the bullet with Kip Sabian and just put him in La Faccion alongside Butcher/Blade so their women’s team can also be official, and I think it works out quite well as a major ROH faction, top Heel RUSH, TV/Mid card guy Preston Vance, Pure champ Kip and Tag champs Butcher/Blade or trios belt Butcher/Blade/Kip.
I think a guy like Cezar being as green as he is probably should still just be hanging about Peter and Nemeth, but at the same time I would maybe push him and his mate Tiger Ruas together as a full time duo, and give them both to Juice Robinson since he really hasn’t even started yet.
I think from what it’s been hinted at on Twitter, Parker is going to become Swerve’s heavy once he turns fully heel, and Ari/Tony/Josh are going to become a trio but I do hope Sonny sticks around with those 3 aswell.
As for Brock Anderson, Pillman Jr and Griff Garrison, sorry I have got absolutely nothing for you three lads, yous three are on your own.

haven’t done this in a while, but i’m in the mood to write without thought so
Full Gear 2022 Predictions
🖤 Mox v MJF for World Title
I’m not going against Mox, I just want the man to take his vacation and for MJF’s year long run to pay off so, MJ-fucking-F. I don’t care how he wins just put the belt on him and let me be thoroughly entertained. MJF can sell me on his character whether it be ultra heel or babyface (very much waiting on babyface him) and him as champ is definitely going to spark a wave of interest.
🖤Acclaimed v Swerve in Our Glory for Tag Titles
This ain’t ending well. My bet is Acclaimed retain and Swerve and Keith start their feud. I wouldn’t be mad if they held off a bit longer and made their situation more bitter and strenuous but, they’ll probably pull the trigger now. I’d be shocked as shit is they take the belts off of the Acclaimed especially when they failed to call that audible the first time. I just really hope that in the end of all this we get Swerve in his heel bag and Keith stays on tv.
🖤 Toni Storm v Jamie Hayter for Women’s Title
First off I hate that - interim - is always in there. Just let the person be the champion and then the person who had to relinquish get an automatic title shot when they return. Which is what happens already! Something about always having to say interim champ cheapens it for me. Rant over. Jamie Hayter. I’m ready for something new, I’m ready for things to actually be shaken up in the women’s division. Jamie has the people (including me) behind her, really anything can be done with her and the belt. Just so much opportunity. Is Ruby feeling better?
🖤ROH World Champ
Yes I’m too lazy to write out all of their names. I’m still hung up on Jericho calling Sammy “little buddy” liiike??? Is Sammy just gonna take that?? Idk, as far as I’m concerned Sammy has to turn on him just for saying that. I don’t expect the BCC to implode, Danielson would have to go off the deep end for that. Yes, he’s been a little more unhinged lately but I don’t think he’s quite there yet. I don’t know who’s gonna win cuz Jericho has been slippery this entire title run. And I’m still of the belief that Danny boy betrayed Danielson so that he could beat Jericho and be double champ. Farfetched? Maybe, but this is pro wrestling. I think Jericho pulls something out of his ass here.
🖤Trios Match
My gosh. The thing is… most people believe that the titles are going to go back to The Elite. That’s a little too easy of an answer, like it’s making me skeptical. Not much has been done with the trios titles though they’ve kinda just been there. So maybe they need to go on The Elite? Maybe Death Triangle just needs to be booked better? But Death Triangle aren’t really on the same page right now anyways. And Penta and Fenix could be the next challengers for the tag titles if DT split. And I like the sound of that. For The Elite to come back and lose would be kinda whack too. Fuck it I’ll say The Elite. But this match better be crazy and hard hitting. Just get in the ring and start bumping goddamnit!
🖤Jade Cargill v Nyla Rose
Jade. But what are they going to do with Nyla when she loses? That’s my worry cuz this is the most tv time Nyla has gotten in ages. And this match is probably going to be short.
🖤Wardlow v Hobbs v Samoa Joe for TNT Title
Big men. This is the type of big men match that excites! Wardlow doing his flippy shit, Joe choking folks out, Hobbs breaking backs. Wardlow retains. What’s the point of making Joe a double champ? It wouldn’t do much story wise. And the only reason I say Wardlow over Hobbs is because we haven’t reached the full potential of Wardlow as TNT champ. We had to ask to get him on tv tbfh.
🖤Jungle Boy v Luchasaurus in a Steel Cage
Jungle Boy. If not him then wtf have we been doing this whole time? Like seriously?
🖤Saraya v Britt Baker
Chile idk. Saraya’s first match in years v Britt Baker, homegrown talent that’s been the face of this division for a hot minute. I’m more invested in what this match does for the women’s division than the match in and of itself.
🖤Sting and them
Idgaf. Just hope Sting doesn’t give me a heart attack doing a high spot.

Randy Savage Unreleased: The Unseen Matches of the Macho Man
youtube
Tumblr media
Freak out, freak out, oh yeahhhhh…..sorry I could not resist, but kicking off an entry with that iconic catchphrase means it is time to cover a Macho Man home video collection. In 2018 WWE gave Macho Man the ‘Unreleased’ DVD treatment, a line of several DVD match collections containing entirely never before released on home video matches. I already covered one on here several months ago dedicated to Hulk Hogan, so it would only seem appropriate to cover another one dedicated to his Mega Powers partner, Randy Savage. Like the Hogan DVD, it has a gratuitously long title in the form of Randy Savage Unreleased: The Unseen Matches of the Macho Man (trailer). If you are into these ‘Unreleased’ sets, then check back here later this year as there are two other semi-recent installments I plan on knocking out by the end of this year. Randy Savage Unreleased is jacked with content at three discs tallying up nine hours of material. There is a total of 41 (!!) matches and 9 promos spanning Macho’s career in WWF and WCW from 1985 through 1999. Also interspersed every several matches is one of 10 newly recorded panel discussion segments with Corey Graves, Bayley, Sean Mooney and Diamond Dallas Page. The panel discussions are not throwaway one-to-minute quick takes, but instead each are nearly several minutes each where all four panelists reminisce about each stage of Macho’s career with Mooney and Page both having pivotal on-hand accounts for how Savage was at that point backstage too. Page has detailed memories of his classic WCW rivalry with Randy and recounts a story I was all ears for about a voice mail he left for Macho on Thanksgiving. Hearing Bayley’s love for Randy was an interesting perspective to take in since she states she was not aware of him until his WCW years. Corey Graves’ passion for the 1993-as-hell Macho Man rap music video rubbed off on me as I never saw it before this collection and I will link to it here so you can have it forever imprinted into your mind as well.
Tumblr media
Obviously I am not going to dissect each and every one of the 41 matches included here, but I will point out some highlights. In general, the quality of matches is fairly solid, and even though a fair amount of the first nine matches are in Macho’s early years with mostly quick, dominant encounters they were still a delight to watch his character evolve from coming out with a cape to adding in his vintage 80s bandana and ring robe and seeing his then-wife Miss Elizabeth join his side. Some early things that caught my eye were Macho’s first TV match in June of 1985 against Aldo Marino where the hype of Randy being the ‘hottest free agent’ attracted all of WWF’s managers to ringside to scout him in action. One of Jesse Ventura’s few WWF matches is here where he tags with Macho Man shortly before he succumbed to a career-ending injury not too long after signing with the WWF. I dug Savage’s first matches on here against formidable competition like former tag champ and Mark Henry manager, Tony Atlas and unearthing a high quality 1986 WWF match against the hidden gem of 80s WWF enhancement talent in one Scott McGhee. When it shifts into his Intercontinental title run, there is a good rematch included with Ricky Steamboat that had a red hot crowd and countless near falls and another good match against Steamboat where he teamed up with Honky Tonk Man against Steamboat and Hogan. His WWF Title run era features must-see WrestleMania-rematches against Ted Dibiase and Hulk Hogan.
Tumblr media
Of all of Randy Savage’s flamboyant ring attires, the one I fondly remember the most was his over-the-top cowboy hat and full body attire complete with tassels. I had no idea until going through this collection that he started rocking that classic look midway through his two year run as the ‘Macho King’ with Queen Sherri by his side. The only notable match in this collection from that run is another WrestleMania-rematch with the mixed tag bout with Macho King and Sherri against Dusty Rhodes and Sapphire. There are nearly a dozen matches from Savage’s final few years in WWF after his reinstatement, but only three truly standout. One is a unique trios pairing that has Randy teaming with Piper and Jim Duggan against Ric Flair, Undertaker and Jake the Snake, while the other is another tag bout with Randy teaming with the Dead Man to take on Ric Flair and Berzerker. Seeing the chemistry between Savage and Undertaker was something special to say the least. Lastly, Savage has a heck of a bout with a post-Red Rooster, Terry Taylor in one of the better technical matches on the set. There are a few key WCW matches to point out in here from the eight included. One is where he is part of the teaming with the Hulkster against the Dungeon of Doom and hitting all the classic Mega Powers spots, including hitting an elbow on Hogan to wake him up after he succumbed to a sleeperhold. There is an awesome Nitro match on here against Ric Flair…which has a cruddy finish unfortunately, but everything else leading up to it is the best wrestling in this entire set. The most peculiar match on here is Savage wrestling on a C-tier weekend morning WCW show, {Pro} where he takes on Kurasawa and has Hulk Hogan by his side too in a strange twist. I am guessing Savage and Hogan must be tight with Kurasawa because these two were making huge money for limited dates in WCW and to have both of them appear in this weekend morning show match is a head scratcher…..it would be kind of like tuning in to Main Event now and seeing Brock Lesnar wrestling. The final match in the set was a surprisingly delightful schmoz of a mixed tag match with Savage and Madusa teaming up with Ric Flair and “Lil Naitch” himself, Charles Robinson! I expected the worst going in considering this was in 19990 when WCW was beginning its downward ratings spiral in its last couple years, but the four pull off a lot of entertaining spots and salvaged a heck of a performance.
Tumblr media
Randy Savage Unreleased is a fairly strong compilation of matches and promos from Macho Man. I would say about a third of it is skippable, and there are a few teases of intriguing match-ups that wrapped up far too quick thanks to poor booking, like a WCW contest against Curt Hennig for example. I have no idea why there were two ho-hum matches against Mr. Hughes included either. That is almost to be expected of these ‘Unreleased’ collections, and seeing Savage’s character, moveset, attire and personality evolve from beginning to end is also fascinating in and of itself. I am glad we got a fair smattering of vintage Macho Man promos throughout his career, with his campaigning reinstatement speech and the aforementioned music video standing out the most of the bunch. Having a break from the 41 matches with the occasional promo and panel discussion segments are appreciated breathers from the action, and the panelists all bring a lot of classic Macho Man stories and memories to the table. This all adds up to Randy Savage Unreleased: The Unseen Matches of the Macho Man being a must-see for any Randy Savage aficionado.
