I know it wouldn't make sense timeline wise since (I'm assuming) Kaku takes Little Lucky when he first goes to inspect The Merry, so she wouldn't have a chance to know about Usopp getting beat up. But I just died at the thought of Franky finally managing to make it to CP-9's train car and the first thing he gets is an angry four year old who wants to get payback for her friend.

Also, hear me out on this, but have you ever considered a strays au but with Little Lucky? The utter chaos that she and Lizard could cause just from people underestimating them alone is endless. Plus, I think it'd be really cute and sweet for Doll to get to be around someone younger and help ensure their childhood is a happier and healthier one than her own. And neither her or Lizard had friends their own age growing up, I'm crying at how precious it could be for them to play with a little kid; it might be awkward and unnatural at first, but of course Luffy jumps in and everyone's having fun and laughing in less than a minute.

Little Lucky suddenly looking up to Lizard more because she bit a dude's fingers off is also just hilarious to me. Kaku is just trying to slowly cover her eyes because his paternal instincts say, "Hey, maybe this amount of bloodshed and dismemberment isn't the best thing for a small child to witness." Said small child later boasting to Zoro about how Lizard must be stronger than him because, "she doesn't even need a sword to hurt people with her mouth!" Spandam is sorely mistaken if he thinks Fukuro is going to be the only one repeating that story 😂

Kaku does take her when he goes to survey the Going Merry, but Luffy is able to get her back after breaking in to the Galley-La main building, so she does get a chance to find out about what happened. It might be more upsetting this way because she doesn't get a chance to say goodbye to Usopp and she's mad at everyone involved for not finding a way to fix it. Friends are supposed to be able to talk things out! How did it get this bad?!

She spends the duration of the ride to Enies Lobby in Rocketman yelling at the Franky Family and trying to throw hands with them, and when she finally gets to Franky it is on SIGHT. He can't get a word in edgewise without being pelted with rocks from her slingshot or getting kicked and stomped on.

On a similar note, she's with Luffy and Chopper in not being able to tell who Sogeking is. She's sadly telling him how much he reminds her of her friend Usopp while wishing she could see him again because she never even got to say goodbye. It takes everything he has not to out himself, especially when she says she would upgrade him to 'best friend' status if he came back.

Little Lucky in the Strays AU would be so cute oh my god

Lizard is going through intense emotional turmoil upon realizing that there was a child with the Straw Hats and that her father probably would have killed her along with everyone else (he wouldn't have, having a child softened him a bit). Lizard is trying to avoid her because she feels guilty, but Lil Lucky follows her around like a duckling because 'oh new friend!'

She was already getting fond of Lil Lucky by the time they got to Skypeia, but after the Enel incident they are inseparable. Lizard is her personal body guard now, and that quickly grows into her taking on a big sister role. Lucky thinks Lizard is the coolest and always cheers her on when she's committing acts of unspeakable violence.

Doll finds Lil Lucky to be the easiest person to interact with right after joining. Little kids don't notice how awkward she is around people, so she's less self conscious. Doll loves to play with her and indulge in normal childhood things that she didn't get to do growing up.

What my Aus did for New Year last night!!!

The Littlest Hughes au—

Honey and Quinn stayed in last night with baby Warren!! Honey is pregnant so she can’t party, and if Quinn’s wife isn’t going out neither is he!! So instead they stayed in, ate Chinese food, and watched ‘Rocketman’ because Quinn had never seen it and Honey was appalled by that fact. They put Warren down early and just cuddled, shared a kiss a few heated kisses at midnight, took a shower together and went to bed shortly after!

The Windy City au—

The Blackhawks are on a roadie so Connor and Lucia didn't ring the new year in together, but she made sure to call him as soon as all the screaming died down at some random house party on her school's Campus. “Happy New Year baby,” she slurred as he smiled at her bubbly voice, “wish you were here, wanted my New years kiss, but it's okay, you'll just have to make it up to me when you get home” she mused as she listened to Connor’s smile growing as he spoke, knowing that he was probably flustered by her suggestiveness. Let's just say he's counting down the seconds till he's back in Chicago to give her a long-awaited New Year kiss.

Tiny Dancer au—

Sunny is in Jersey with her brothers (and will be there until after the Canucks play the Devs) but she's out bar-hopping with the boys and some girls. Adam calls her just after midnight to wish her a happy New Year, she hates that she can't ring it in with him, but she's super happy to hear that he's having fun. They share a few drunken ‘I love you’s’ before hanging up and returning to partying. Luke and Jack do not let her live down how flushed and smiley she is just from a simple phone call

Always an Angel, Never a God au—

Angie was invited out by Jonas and a few of the other Swiss players to join them and their girlfriends at the bar. She feels a little out of place amongst them, Nico can sense it, so he stays by her most of the night. Angie can tell that's what he's doing so she tells him she doesn't need him to play emotional support captain for her all night, and he simply just shakes his head and pays no mind to her words, hugging her close to him as he sings along to ‘Mr. Brightside’. At the countdown, Angie really, and extremely drunkenly contemplates kissing him but decides a kiss on the cheek is a much safer option. Nico is all red after it, deeming 2024 his year after her red lips press against his stubble-covered cheek!!

ooo i love further insider context and you know im a big fan of slight differences between anakin and obi-wan's speech patterns ("maybe" for anakin, "perhaps" for obi-wan; "but" for anakin, "however" for obi-wan)

though further than that, i'm honestly not sure how much i'm aiming for uptight obi-wan and super laid back anakin in this au. i feel like they really share that here and also have the strongest possible narrative bias when it comes to describing the other's actions:

for instance, in this ficlet for the smithsonian au, anakin gives himself a tummy ache because obi-wan brings a new coworker to lunch :( which feels not laidback OR particularly chill; and in this smithsonian au ficlet (their first meeting!!), obi-wan sort of starts a game of footsie under the table with padmé's hot texan friend which is not uptight......but in this ficlet, anakin sees obi-wan's actions as cool and aloof and uptight and rude (when really obi-wan is just a touch heartbroken) and in the fic i'm currently writing for this fic to go on ao3, obi-wan is thinking about how he could never ever like anakin skywalker at all because he's TOO laidback and describes him like this:

Skywalker likes American barbecue and Johnny Cash and he probably grew up driving a truck until he crashed it; he’s cocky and smug and an olive lover, for god’s sake, a twenty-nine year old child prodigy who acts more like the adjective than the noun. He’d trip over his own feet half the time with how often he’s got his head pointed towards the sky of all things if it weren’t for the flocks of people who fawn all around him specifically to prevent that sort of thing.

even though a few scenes later, he'll find him stressing the fuck out over budget problems and unable to leave for their scheduled lunch date

Hey, thanks for being here - whether you binged the series or have been here the whole year or you're literally just reading this and don't care to read the series. I know it's a little (okay a lot) cheesy to make a whole post saying thank you for a silly little fanfic but I've had a tough year, and I didn't want to make the post longer and well, here we are. Don't read it if you don't want to or you think it's cringe.

I wrote the "Rocketman is Dingus. Dingus is Steve. Steve is Rocketman" scene on November 25th, 2022 in the back of my mother in law's car while shopping. I had no real vision other than Friends With Benefits, modern AU, use the songs off of the Uncanny Valley album by COIN, reader hates love and duh - Steve falls in love with everything that moves. Over the course of basically an entire fucking year, a short, 4 "parts" "minseries" turned into this. This lovely, wonderful, infuriating most days, pain in my ass series that I'm going to cherish for the rest of my life. I learned and discovered so much about writing and about myself while creating it. We're truly almost at a year, and originally, when this idea came to me, I was back on my old blog and I just can't even express to you how crazy it is to know the notes I got on first fics to this journey to the new blog and this series...I feel like I can't say thank you enough or express how crazy it is to me and how truly grateful I am. While writing this I was thoroughly broken down to just a sobbing mess multiple times by comments, messages, and love left for the story - I have your messages saved, and they mean more to me than you could ever know. I made new friends while writing it, I daydreamed about these fucking idiots while on my first international trip, I'm chasing crazy dreams and it's truly all because of this story and you guys. All because of your patience and encouragement as I strung you along for almost an entire year just for a silly little fanifc.

first, i’m obsessed with this thank you!?! and second, no. no, i don’t think bradley makes it to the moon in their current series 😩. she may tease him by threatening to buy him one of those blue origin space flights for his birthday, but they try their best to abstain from anything jeff bezos related in the house 🫡 so the rocketman remains earth bound

but in my dreams and the au i probably will never finish writing or get to even the slightest sharing point, yes he does make it to the moon after they move to texas (she hates it (respectfully)) and he joins nasa and goes on one of the artemis missions and i recreate the entire bracelet/crater scene from first man because why not explain the large age gap between gil and maggie in a terribly tragic way set to the background of the most remote place in the solar system?

Remus is a criminal hitman, Sirius is a DCI for the London police. they all have backstories that led them to where they are. wolfstar start dating, Remus knows Sirius is investigating the Good Deeds Killer but doesn't know he's actually investigating his own boyfriend, naturally.

I love Thousands of Good Deeds because their backstories make me a little sad. Dorcas' backstory i've channelled a little of my own life into and that was fun. But probably my favourite is this one, It's about the similarities between Regulus and Draco. and a little 'what if' if Draco had his uncle/cousin whatever to help him along the way:

Post 7 comfort movies and tag 7 people. I was tagged by @lunaraindrop and as soon as i was, i immediately forgot every movie i've ever seen.

i think these all count as comfort movies, but they're really just all movies that have significant meaning to me in one way or another OR that i can watch/re-watch no matter what (is that what a comfort movie is? idk)

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993): if you know me at all, you would've seen this one coming lmao This is my no. 1 fave movie of all time, and it has been since I was..9? I remember exactly where I was when i first saw it and i remember just standing there fully enraptured. literally standing, like i was standing directly in front of the TV

Rocketman (1997) the disney one, where they go to mars! i would put this tape on every night to fall asleep to the point i had the previews (which became all static-y and worn out from constant re-watching) and the first like, 15 min memorized. also, for some reason my family would constantly quote things from this movie without fully realizing it ("hey, what kind of laptop do you have?", "...using what we like to call 'the right way'.", and "now THAT was julie.".)

Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella (1997) the Whitney Houston version with Brandy :) THE BEST adaptation of this version of cinderella. no i will not be taking arguments at this time. sidenote: i FLIPPED SHIT when i went on the Universal lot tour in California last year because this was filmed there on their little 'european town' backdrop. The tour guide said that and i gasped so loud-an actual aloud reaction to that news-and started ranting to my husband about it.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1999) i loved this movie sm as a kid that i was one of the ensemble kids at a church (that i didn't go to)'s production of the play. me. on a stage. in front of people. singing and dancing and shit. wild stuff, friends.

The Princess Diaries (2001) and Princess Diaries 2 (2004); my little sis and i LOVED watching these movies when we were young. also, while i was writing my steddie PD2 au, i found out that my husband did NOT like these movies and i still don't know what to do with that information.

The Last Holiday (2006) somehow i always forget about this movie. like, everytime i'm reminded of it, it feels like i hadn't watched it in YEARS (though i end up watching it every year around new years!). it's literally so good and makes me want to book a trip to Karlovy Vary/Grandhotel Pupp (and maybe also visit Aneta while i'm there 👀)

The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) is there anyone who doesn't love this movie?? it is my family's comfort christmas movie and we watch it every christmas eve! (P.S., this movie was my first into to the christmas carol story, and it really threw me off later when i watched a different version and there was only one Marley and not two Marley brothers 😅)
