MAGISTRATE RALORN BELROTH THEDAN
Rockseers, or rock elves, as a race, live underground, under mountains. They build their homes in small pockets of space hundreds of feet within solid stone. Extremely rare, rockelves are almost never seen in subterraining caves let alone on the surface world. In the Great Calamity, a small group of elves chose to flee underground rather than take part in the massive battle. Due to this, when the Gods won the war over the Titans, they turned away from these elves. Stripping them of the ability to have priests or clerics, as no god would answer a prayer from a rockelf. The society that built up from the ashes of their race was democratic to the core, the rockelves cherish each and every member of their clan. An inability to heal through divine means mixed with a high sterility rate lead to a small, tightly wove people. Ralorn was born to a jewel-smithing clasp. He spent years training and honing his craft. His family produced some of the most intricate and beautiful crafted pieces of jewelry-- impressing even the largest spread Dwarven craftsmen groups seek them out and are willing to pay hundreds of platinum for any rockseer piece. Just past his 556th birthday, a small coup was launched. By this point, Ralorn had elevated himself to the status of a clasp mediator, acting as the voice of multiple clasps in large scale business deals. A minority of his people had made a deal with a larger Drow tribe, wanting to expand into their territory, in return, the Drow leaders demanded the death of The Five Heads, that being The High Magistrate, The Steward Magistrate, The Coin Lord, The Head Scribe and The Grand Mediator. Of the five targets, only Ralorn survived the assassination by casting sanctuary on himself just as he was struck down. This gave him just enough time to be rescued by the guards and protected, but left him in a coma. He slept for 7 months and during that time, he received visions from the goddess Sahanine. She told him that he would be the one to lead his people out of exile. Showing him a vision of a far off city in peril, he was guided there as a starting place in his greater diplomatic mission. When he awoke, Ralorn was drawn towards the surface. He bid goodbye to his family and explained his plan to the newly placed Five Heads of the Rockseer people and headed towards the unknown world above the surface.
