Vintage Swing Dance practice, reproducing Smooth Style Lindy Hop (both social dance moves, as well as performance style partnered acrobatics) as this dance style was used and adapted for 1950's Rock and Roll movies (and we are dancing to the music that was used in the opening scene from the 1958 movie "Hot Rod Gang.") We are not dressed '50's in this video, because this is just a rehearsal, hence we are in workout clothes (because practicing this dance style is a workout!), but we will be doing a real 1950's style video soon, complete with vintage clothing (so stay tuned!) We teach this dance style every Thursday night, from 7:30 p.m. till 9 p.m. at: Slim Fitness 5437 Central Avenue Suite #3 Newark, CA 94560 Immediately after the lesson, we have open dance practice for as long as students want to stick around. (Many of our students, just for the fun of it, also bring snacks to keep our energy up for the after-lesson open dance practice, though of course, students are not required to bring food. They do it just for the fun of it, and we as instructors always provide snacks, as well.) If registered for the month, the lessons break down to $8, and if doing drop-ins only, the lessons are $10 per drop-in. (But, if you bring two friends to join with you, you get in for half price!)
