Y'all I went to ComiCon recently and I'm STILL NOT OVER IT

I went as Ellie from Summer on Saturday and 6 strangers openly recognsied my cosplay, 2 of whom were also other versions of Ellie, so now I'm Instagram mutuals with one of the Ellies and I'm hype to do more cosplays people would recognise

One of the Ellies was there officially as an exhibitor at the con so she had a Joel, a Tess, and a clicker with her that I met and had my pictures with

I dyed my hair on Saturday night and went back to ComiCon on Sunday morning as a modern AU Toph, with my friend as modern Sokka and his other friends as modern Zuko and modern Katara

The Doctor Who Society was there so I took selfies with K-9 and the daleks

I met Rock M Sakura and it was one of the most wholesome interactions I've ever had with a drag artist, she hugged me and picked a sticker to put on my folding cane and asked my teddy bear's name and said "It's nice to meet you, Ellie" to my bear

I'm planning for next year's cons already, so I want to work up the sewing skills to make a real Toph cosplay and the nerve to wear it in public, I'm compiling a small notebook of dad jokes to read to people as Ellie when they stop me, and I need to get a proper plain grey long-sleeve shirt to wear under Ellie's t-shirt (you can kind of see in the picture that the one I wore to ComiCon was just my "Long live the Black Parade" shirt turned inside-out)

So I've been in a bad place the last two months. And ngl it was looking really bad. Little things however have popped up and made it a lil easier and better. Now I'm not 100% or am I gonna act like I am. Still broken to shit. But I will get there.

During one bad day I decided too look to drag for a pick me up. I used to, pre pandemic, is d to do drag, went a to a few open mic nights, and it was a lot of fun, I'd never felt more myself. And when shit happened and I lost so much I just stopped. But during that bad day I decided to catch up on all of my fav queens content, Rock M Sakura in particular. And she made me remember why I love drag and that's something I never want to forget. She made me smile and laugh and got me through a very dark spell. I'm happy to be here.

I'm gonna put a lil video from my tiktok below, just a speed paint of the art. I did have fun doing this despite my dark moments and thoughts. Thank you again, those of you out there. You do more then you think.
