OC Updates

So for those who have been with me for awhile, you might remember my Descendants Original Characters!

For refresher we have:

Gabelle LeGume- the rough and tumble only daughter of Gaston and twin sister to Gil, just fighting to make it in a man’s world. She is in a relationship with Chad Charming, and is the leader of the G Gang

Holly Olympian- the sweet and spice daughter of Hades and best friend to Gabelle and sister to Hadie (and apparently half-sister to Mal), just trying to find her place. She is in a relationship with Audrey, and is Gabelle’s second in command.

Caine Frollo- the pathetic son of Claude Frollo who is just an annoyance to everyone on the Isle, he is a member of Ginny Gothels group, and is single.

Rochella Heart- If I’m being honest I don’t remember a lot about her character other than she was the daughter of the Queen of Hearts, was a member of Gabelle’s gang, and dated Clay Clayton-

Gabriella Charming- The sweet as sugar daughter of Cinderella and King Charming, and younger sister to Chad. As Princess of Cinderellasburg, she took it upon herself to show Gabelle the ropes of Princess-hood and along the way fell in love and began a relationship with Gil.

Now that we are all reacquainted with my OC’s…

I’m scrapping a couple of them. Or at least thinking about it.

I’m thinking about getting rid of Rochella because honestly I didn’t do a lot with her anyways and I kinda just created her because I was in a OC-creating frenzy at the time. I think it says a lot that I genuinely don’t remember a lot about her character so I’m probably gonna yeet her right out the window.

I’m also thinking of getting rid of… Gabriella. I know- I know- put down the pitchforks and hear me out.

Gabriella might just get a full redesign instead of a full scrap. Just while I was going through my posts she was giving me pretty big Mary Sue vibes and I no longer like the fact that her and Chad (who are siblings) are both in relationships with another pair of siblings (Gil and Gabelle respectively).

I don’t like how similar her name is with Gabelle anymore. At the time I did because realistically there would be some name overlap but now it’s just confusing when I look back.

Gabelle might get a little redesign because I think I made her too overpowered strength-wise and I think maybe she’s a little too… idk, grouchy? But I’m still debating. Overall, her character will probably remain the same with minor changes.

And the same goes for Holly. Overall I like her, but she might get some minor changes.

I also might be thinking about doing a fanfiction with my OC’s so keep on the lookout for updates regarding that if anyone would like to read it 👀

Do My OC’s Get Along With Their SO’s Family/Vise Versa?

Requested: No, but I wanna do it so :P

Gabelle: Yes, she and Chad’s family get along very well, especially her and Cinderella since they had very similar childhoods, so Cinderella and Gabelle often swap little cleaning or cooking tips, and King Charming loves Gabelle since he felt she was just what Chad needed in a girlfriend. And as far as would Gaston like Chad? They never met, but if they did meet, Gaston would hate Chad with a passion since he would want his daughter with a true man, not some prince. 

Holly: Audrey’s parents love Holly, although it took some time for them to get used to her not only being a VK but a demigod daughter of Hades at that but once they got used to the idea of Holly being a VK they really loved her since they thought she was very cute and her and Audrey really were a good match for each other. And as far as would Hades like Audrey, the answer is a solid no, too girly he would think. But he would like the fact that she is willing to do whatever to get what she wants.

Rochella: The answer is no for both questions, Rochella’s mother hates Clay with a passion and Clayton hates Rochella- Rochella’s mother says Clay is an uncivilized baffoon while Clayton says Rochella is a spoiled rotten wanna-be princess. So yeah, they don’t often bring each other home to talk to the family. 

Gabriella: Gabriella has never met Gaston, although if they did meet, I think that Gaston wouldn’t particularly care for Gabriella as a person although he would think that maybe she would be a good housewife if it wasn’t for the princess part. But Gabriella’s parents love Gil-they think he’s such a sweetheart and very good for their daughter, King Charming has more often than not commented that he’d be more than happy to have Gil as a son-in-law.

Meanings/Backstories of their Names

Gabelle: Gabelle is not an actual name, Gaston made it up when she was born. He was still so obsessed with Belle at the time of Gabelle’s birth that he wanted to name his only daughter after the one woman he ever wanted- he could finally have his Belle. Well, for obvious reasons her mother did not want her named after his ex-love, so she forced him to change it. So there was born the name Gabelle. Gabelle doesn’t like her name when she is younger and really only starts to accept it when she moves to Auradon. She still doesn’t like it though.

Holly: The name is derived from the holly plant, and since Holly was born on Christmas (which happened to be her mothers favorite holiday), that was what she was named. She never really had an opinion on her name- it just was what she was named. She simply didn’t really care. 

Caine: Derived from Cain, his father named him this because Cain is the firstborn son of Adam and Eve and then because he loved God so much he killed his own brother (Frollo’s interpretation of the story), and Caine is the firstborn son of Claude Frollo, and Caine strives to live up to his namesake (short of killing his sibling, the boy does have boundaries). He loves his name and finds any excuse to tell the story of Cain. 

Rochella: Rochella is a spelling variant of the name Rochelle, which means ‘Little Rock’. Very fitting due to her mother's obsession with rubies and other precious jewels. Again, Rochella really has no opinion on her name, although she does admit she leans more on the side of liking it. Her middle name is...well, it’s a different story. 

Gabriella: Mean’s ‘God gives me strength’ or ‘Woman of God’ depending on where it is from. Gabriella was named this because she was born at around the same time the original ball was held where Prince Charming and Cinderella met, and at that time Cinderella needed all the strength she could get, she also was partially named after Cinderella, which is why her name ends in -ella. She likes her name pretty well, although she does prefer to being called Gabby.

do any of your oc's interact with each other? I was looking at your tags and I saw that 3 of them are probably from the isle(daughter of gaston and hades, son of frollo) and 1 was from maybe auradon(daughter of cinderella and charming). Also, how do they celebrate the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas? Does the Isle even celebrate any kind of holiday? I haven't read the books either but I really want to. I'm also really happy that you are a part of the sea three

I LOVE YOU YAY MY FIRST QUESTION! This is going to be a long one so I’ll put a ‘Keep Reading’ after this :D Here is a link for those who are curious about who my OC’s are in-depth! 

Do they interact with each other?

They do! Gabelle, Holly, and Rochella are all apart of the same ‘gang’ (Gabelle as leader) on the Isle! Rochella and Gabelle don’t necessarily get along, but they put up with each other since Rochella is apart of the gang and she does kind of have to do what Gabelle says for the most part. 

As far as their interactions with Caine- none of them are good. They don’t like Caine at all, although none of them take him seriously since he’s just a giant pest to most on the Isle. 

Rochella and Gabriella sadly don’t ever interact, however. Gabriella, like you assumed, is from Auradon, and Rochella chooses never to go to Auradon with the others, so they don’t get the chance to interact. 

Gabelle and Gabriella interact quite a lot, especially since Gabelle is in a relationship with Chad and Gabriella is in a relationship with Gil (it’s very fun at parties especially with the similar names), and they often double date. (I would love to go into more detail about that if you all are interested!) Gabriella and Holly often go shopping together since they are more alike personality wise and both are girly. 

Does the Isle celebrate holidays? 

It is my personal belief that no, the Isle does not celebrate any holidays. I mean, they might do something for Halloween since the Isle is notorious for tricks but other than that I highly doubt there is any sort of festivities going on. 

How do my OC’s celebrate holidays?

Once Gabelle, Holly, and Rochella get to Auradon, it’s a whole new world for them when the holiday’s come around. Halloween is less about pranks as it is just dressing up and getting candy and watching a scary movie or two, and they had never even heard of just giving someone a gift just because. Gabelle was kind of indifferent about holidays- her father kind of trained her that they were just wasted time and not to be messed with. So her first Christmas she was just kind of ‘here’s a card go nuts’. But she will admit she loves Halloween with a passion, it’s the one time of year all three of her brothers and herself got along because they joined together to play pranks on the Isle. And she likes it even more in Auradon, although she can do without the dressing up.

Rochella on the other hand…

She love’s decorating and goes all out, it is her favorite thing. (Christmas is her high key favorite holiday because she gets stuff). Her first Christmas she literally turned her castle into a Winter Wonderland and just about caused her mother to go into a murderous rage because WHY IS THERE A TREE IN THE MY CASTLE? As far as Halloween goes, she’s the same way. Full out in decorations, dressing up (as best as she can on the Isle), passing out what little candy she can find, you name it she does it. Drives Clay mad because he doesn’t give two rats asses.

Holly is more like Gabelle in the way of holidays. She likes them and will celebrate, but doesn’t go all out like Rochella. A tiny fake tree in the corner, a wreath, and she’s good to go. Maybe a pumpkin carving for Halloween and some fake webbing on the corners of the ceiling. It’s just another day for the most part. 

Caine only really ‘celebrates’ Christmas (for obvious reasons) but no gift giving is allowed. They ‘celebrate’ Christmas by reading the Bible and talking about how Frollo was only doing God’s work. 

Gabriella goes all out for holiday’s due to her upbringing and finds it sad that kids on the Isle don’t get to celebrate holidays like she does, so every Christmas she donates old clothes and toys to the Isle so little kids can get a little something. As for Halloween, she spends it dressing up, going to a couple costume parties, and then passes out candy.

My OC’s Quirks

Gabelle: When she concentrates on something she sings to herself. This is something she formed from her mother who would sing while she cooked or cleaned, and she just developed the habit over time. It isn’t loud singing, but it’s there. (Chad high key loves it and often times records her singing and begs her to sing for him even though she swears up and down she doesn’t sing). 

Holly: Whenever Holly gets nervous, she cleans. It’s just a thing she does because her home on the Isle was always so messy she just cleaned all the time, and now whenever she gets nervous she cleans. It can often times get on her friends or Audrey’s nerves because Holly doesn’t always leave the cleaning to her dorm room and will often clean other peoples dorms as well. 

Caine: He has the very bad habit of reciting Bible verses at the wrong moment, and has been punched for this habit multiple times. It’s not his fault completely, his father did it to him so much growing up it became a habit so he does it to justify his own behavior/condemn someone else's. But this is also a pretty neat talent, ask him to say any chapter of the Bible and he can recite the whole thing from memory.

Rochella: She chews on her hair all the time. Or she plays with her hair. Or she braids her hair. Just messing with her hair in general, she does it all the time and her mother absolutely hates it because it just messes up her hair so badly and her mother is always striving for Rochella to have the perfect princess look. The only reason this gets on Clay’s nerves is that it breaks her hair off when she does it and he’s always finding red hair everywhere in his room that he has to pick up, other than that he doesn’t care. 

Gabriella: She talks all the time when she gets nervous or excited. This doesn’t bother Gil one bit (he loves whenever she babbles on and on about everything and nothing at the same time) but it drives everyone else up the wall with her constant talking. This formed because she was just super talkative as a child and was extremely hyper.

How did you decide on the certain ships for your characters? And who's your favorite oc/favorite ship with one of your ocs 💙💜💙💜💙💜

Gabelle/Chad: I kind of touched on them in a prior post, but for the most part it was just that their personalities really fit each other! Chad is selfish and that was what Gabelle was used to growing up so she’s always been drawn to more selfish guys. She also kind of teaches him that a girl can do whatever a guy can do (she flat out forces him to let her play tourney and he hates to admit she’s better at it than him), and he teaches her that sometimes being girly isn’t so bad! (He gets her a dress she refuses to admit she loves but she wears it whenever she can).

Rochella/Clay: Basically what happens here is the stereotypical good girl/bad boy sort of thing. Clay always liked Rochella-he thought she was cute because she never left the house in anything but a nice dress with her hair done well and makeup done perfectly. She always kept up appearances, but she wasn’t one to be messed with. Rochella always liked Clay because he was tough, she was always attracted to the boys who were tough and had muscle (she secretly had a crush on all three of Gaston’s son’s but she knew Gabelle wouldn’t be happy with that so she never acted on it). Their relationship is fairly superficial but they’re both really protective of each other because they do care for each other a lot, they just don’t know how to show that they care.

Holly/Audrey: Holly is such a closet girly girl it isn’t funny! She loves makeup but she never wears it on the Isle, and upon meeting Audrey she teaches her how to properly do her make up so the two of them started off as best friends. Holly shows Audrey how to kind of dress like a villain since Audrey has shown multiple times that she enjoys VK wear, so Holly helps her out there. The two just kind of match, kind of similar to Gabelle and Chad. Holly, however, is much nicer than Audrey (even though she herself can be pretty dang selfish), and she teaches Audrey that not all VK’s are inherently evil. The both of them just kind of developed crushes on each other over time so it was a gradual process that they both really grew to care and love each other ♥

Gabriella/Gil: Oh the sweethearts ♥ They’re both just so sweet, they had to be together! Gabriella is the typical good girl, she never has done anything wrong in her life and she follows the rules. She’s super nice like her mother and she just is an overall nice person. Gil shows her how to rebel a little bit, he’s the one who originally gets her to sneak out. Gabriella needed someone to help her not be such a goodie two shoes all the time without being a total bad influence, and Gil was that for her. He would respect her boundaries while still pushing the envelope to see just what she would be comfortable with. However, their relationship did cause a lot of strain with Gabelle/Chad (if you all want me to go into more detail with that I’d be happy too!) so that in turn put a lot of strain on their own, but they always got through it because Gabriella is really good at handling conflicts while Gil just kind of shuts down and storms off. Basically, they’re just two cuties trying to be happy and it works out great for them ♥♥♥

As far as my favorite ship…It’s probably a tie between Gabelle/Chad and Gabriella/Gil! They both have such interesting qualities in their ships, but I always lean a bit more for Gabriella/Gil! ♥

The Inner Isle’s Spy: Chapter 1

Summary: Rochella is the daughter of the Red Queen, and is widely regarded on the Isle to be the Worst of the Worst in her territory, the inner Isle. But what no one knows is that she is secretly working with the Anti-Hero League as their spy. 

Chapter One: The Recruitment

I always knew I was different from my mother, the Red Queen. Unlike her, I never really cared about being royalty, but I wasn’t about to turn down the title of princess, you’d have to be one crazy bitch to do that. I also wasn’t completely ‘off with your head’ crazy when someone made me upset.

But there were a couple ways I was similar to my mother. I held myself in very high regards, and everyone trembled in fear when I walked past. I knew how to hold my own, and no one dared mess with me. I was the Queen of the Inner Isle. I knew how to always get what I want, and no one ever told me no. 

However, even the evilest of villain’s have their secrets. And mine happened to be I wasn’t truly evil. I just was able to walk the walk; talk the talk, and act the act. And man, did I do it well. 

I secretly wanted to be a member of the Anti-Hero League, the ‘club’ that Yen-Sid had started for the villain children who didn’t want to be evil. Now, don’t get me wrong-I will forever be a villain kid and I will always have some slight villainous tendencies, but I just don’t want to be completely evil. It doesn’t suit me. 

So that was why my best friends, Hade’s twin children Holly and Hadie, approached Yen-Sid one day after school let out to talk to him about if I was able to join the Anti-Hero League. “Yen-Sid, let’s chat,” I told him as I walked into his classroom, my blood red hair flowing past my shoulders and me going to lean against one of the tables while my friends stood by the door to watch for anyone heading this way. 

“Yes? What is it, my dear?” He asked me as he gathered up his books to head home for the day, and I looked around nervously before looking at him. 

“My friends and I were wondering if we could join your little club. We heard about the Anti-Hero League and we’re interested.” I told him, crossing my arms as I looked at him, and I saw a small smile form on his face. 

“Ah, I was hoping you would ask, dear.” He said, going over to his desk and sitting in his chair, looking at me. “Although, I actually have a request for you. I don’t want you children coming to any meetings.” He said, which took me aback. 

“Wait...what?” I asked, extremely confused. He wanted me to join but he didn’t want me to go to meetings? What the fuck type of logic is that? 

Yen-Sid chuckled, nodding as he looked at me. “Yes, I don’t want you to come to any meetings- you or your friends. The thing is, I was wondering if you would be able to be a spy for me. I need a child who is extremely good at being evil or at least playing the part. And you do just that.” Yen-Sid said as he looked at me. “You do not have to be a spy, but it’s something that I would like to have.” 

After a moment of thought, I looked at him. “What would being your spy involve?” I asked, honestly interested. I could keep my reputation while being apart of the Anti-Hero League. 

He smiled at my question, folding his hands together. “It would involve meeting once a week in here so you can tell me your information.” He said, and I pressed my lips together as I looked at Holly and Hadie, the two of whom were watching me closely. 

“What do you both think?” I asked, the two of them being my best friends so I wanted to know what they thought about this. 

“I think it’s a good idea,” Holly began to say, her deep blue hair falling in her face so she blew it out of her eyes. “We would still be known as the evilest of them all in the Inner Isle, but we’re really working for good. And our families won’t completely disown us.” Holly said, to which her brother nodded. 

“Exactly, that’s what I was thinking. I say we do it.” Hadie said as he crossed his arms, leaning back against the wall, and I thought about it a little further before looking to Yen-Sid. 

“We’re in.” 

Upon telling Yen-Sid that we were in, he grinned and stood up. “Good. Now, I need you all to act as you normally would. See if you can become close with any of the villains. Preferably ones you can trick easily who won’t ask questions. Try the Gaston boys or even Clay Clayton.” Yen-Sid said as he went to clean the chalk board, and I laughed. 

“The Gaston boys are all idiots, the lot of them. Their father probably killed their brain cells by feeding them raw eggs since they were babies. They’ll be easy to trick,” I said as I folded my arms around them. Throw the older two around a pretty girl and they’re putty in your hands, and Gil, while being sweet, he was around Uma and her crew so much we didn’t have to worry about him. 

Yen-Sid chuckled at my words, turning to look at me. “Rochella, while you’re right that the boys hold more muscle mass than they do brains, don’t play them for fools. They are much smarter than one would believe. I’m just saying that they would be easy to trick. But tread lightly, dear. Be sure not to arouse suspicion.” Yen-Sid warned, to which I laughed. 

“You underestimate me, Yen-Sid,” I told him as I chuckled, folding my arms across my chest. “My mother is the Red Queen. I could do anything I wanted and no one would question me. They’d just say I’m as crazy as my mother. I know a lot of them do already.” I told him, and he laughed. 

“Very true, princess. But still, a lot of the villain’s aren’t near as dumb as you make them out to be. You of all people know that every parent on the Isle has taught their children to be twice as villainous as their parents before them. Play your cards right, and you can do great things, my dear.” He warned me, and I rolled my eyes before looking at him. 

“If you insist...but you’re taking all the fun out of it,” I said, giving him a wicked smile before turning to look at my friends. “Let’s bounce,” I said before heading to the door. 

“Rochella,” Yen-Sid called, and I turned. “This is not a game. It is not meant to be fun.” He warned, and I pressed my lips together before I headed out without another word.

My OC’s

Gabelle: Daughter of Gaston and twin of Gil, seventeen years old. She has long black hair and blue eyes and is incredibly short and of petite build. Working for her father in his tavern as a waitress, her father’s strict rules for her have turned her into quite the rebel, driving her to become a leader and never follow a man’s rule, causing her to become the true definition of a tomboy. She is extremely prideful, often times to the point of never admitting to needing help, and can never admit to being wrong about something or when she is unable to do something. She also does not like to admit that she, deep down, is good hearted. Her best friends are Holly (see below) and Hadie. She dated Anthony Tremaine and Clay Clayton on the Isle, and she dates Chad when she is in Auradon. Prefers to be called ‘Gab’.

Holly: Daughter of Hades and slightly younger sister to Hadie, she is sixteen years old. Her hair is a deep blue, almost black, that turns into flames whenever she has extreme anger or excitement, and her eyes are a dark black color. She never really cared much for getting into trouble, but she will follow Gabelle and her brother around and do whatever they say, within reason. She is incredibly kind hearted to those that are on her good side, but for those on her bad side, she will make them wish they were in her father’s realm. She can be incredibly naive and selfish at points, to the point where when she was invited to Auradon and Gabelle wasn’t she wouldn’t stop talking about how excited she was to go and showed little empathy for her friend not being able to go with her. Ends up dating Audrey. 

Caine: Son of Claude Frollo, older brother to Claudine. He is eighteen years old and has brown hair always kept short with brown eyes, he has an extreme temper and is very similar to his father in most aspects. Has a major crush on most of the girls on the Isle to the point it freaks them out (even Gaston has shown some concern for Gabelle so that says something), and he even has a secret crush on Anthony Tremaine. Cain is bisexual but refuses to admit it to himself due to being raised to believe that being anything other than heterosexual is bad. He has a major rivalry with Gil and the pirate crew because of his actions towards his sister and the other girls of the Isle, so he is not allowed into the chip shop under any circumstances. Remains single due to the fact all the girls hate him and he won’t admit to him being bisexual, and he does not go to Auradon.

Rochella: Daughter of the Queen of Hearts/Red Queen, she is an only child and is seventeen years old. Her hair is a blood red color naturally and is always kept extremely long, although she always wears it up in some way, and her eyes are a deep blue color. She, like her mother, can often times be very self-centered and do things only if they benefit her in some way, although deep down she would do what needed to be done for those she considers her friends. She works at her mother’s hair salon and secretly gives out free haircuts to those who are unable to afford it. If she decides she does not like you, you better hope that you’ve lived a good life because you will never be free of her torment. She is extremely intelligent, to the point of being able to feign being upset about something to get her way. Her only ‘friends’ on the Isle are Gabelle, Hadie, and Holly, although Gabelle simply puts up with her due to Rochella being a girly girl, and even more so since she is now dating Clay Clayton. Does not go to Auradon, and likes being called ‘Roch’ by her friends.

Gabriella: Daughter of Cinderella and younger sister to Chad, she is sixteen years old. She has long blonde hair down to her waist, always kept in a braid, and her eyes are a beautiful baby blue. She takes after her mother and most people, upon first meeting her, don’t understand how she and Chad are related. She is extremely caring for others and will always give everyone the benefit of the doubt. This, however, comes at a fault, she is very naive and often times allows people to walk all over her as her mother did before her, and she doesn’t know how to tell people no. Whenever she is unable to do something for someone, she feels extremely guilty, even if it comes at no fault to her own. Her brother is extremely over protective and so when he learns that she is dating Gil, he becomes obsessed with trying to break them up for fear that she will be hurt or he will be just like Gaston, resulting in a lot of fights between him and Gabelle since she is extremely protective over her brother. Eventually, he learns to accept their relationship. Doesn’t mean he likes it, but he just lets them do their own thing.
