hc + 👪 for a family-themed headcanon
Once a month, Scarlett, Clint and Natasha do a few simulations at the HARM room together, as a team, and it's honestly one of Scarlly's favorite activities to do with her parents because she always has so much fun with them and can always show them how she’s advancing in her individual training and improving her skills. She can also learn more with them, so that's super cool.
And even though it's a training thing, it's also a quality time they have together, because in the middle of the simulation they can talk about practically everything, from the week they've had to random and useless things while punching robots.
At the end of each session, they go out for pizza, and while they're there, they almost always tell some story about missions they did together that Scarlett didn't know yet. The three of them usually end the day watching a movie. Scarlett really thinks these moments are special, even though they're not exactly normal. It's normal for her family, and at the end of the day, that's all that matters.

Dear Vector Prime, do GI Joe and Cobra exist somewhere in the Viron cluster?
Dear Real Anime Hero,
Indeed they do! Under the purview of the United States military, the G.I. Joe Rescue Corps worked tirelessly to combat the evil terrorist organization Cobra, who caused disaster from the shadows. By inoculating key individuals with their behavior-altering "Venom" serum, Cobra could engineer crises such as dam breaks, reactor meltdowns, bank robberies, and forest fires. When the call came in—"YO JOE!"—it would be up to Sergeant Duke and his emergency response team to fight back and save the day!
To challenge the dragon cult's mystic brainwashing and command over the elements, G.I. Joe was equipped with state-of-the-art high-tech vehicles—like Duke's "Attack Cruiser", a weaponised police car and peacekeeping machine. Joining him were the serious-minded pilot Scarlett, who flew the "Sky Hawk" helicopter; empathetic paramedic Lifeline, who drove the "Road Defender" ambulance; hot-headed firefighter Hot Zone, who drove the "Inferno Engine" firetruck; and boisterous construction worker Heavy Duty, who operated the "Drill Bit" mining machine. Depending on the mission, they would sometimes be joined by laid-back coast guard Beach-Head, who used the "Wave Crusher" hovercraft, and stubborn engineer Steamhammer, who drove the "Silver Streak" train. With General Tomahawk's tech-savvy son, Vinnie, backing them up at Rescue Corps headquarters, they used teamwork and ingenuity to defend the free will of every citizen.
Most curiously, the confrontations fought between these iterations of G.I. Joe and Cobra are repeated in an entirely separate timeline, deep in the megaverse! There, it was not Sergeant Duke who fought Cobra, but rather Officer Morishita of the Shinsei Foundation who investigated and counteracted the machinations of the Black Dragon Empire. Events played out almost identically between these two timelines, but where Duke had utter conviction, Shun Morishita was gripped with doubt over whether the Black Dragon Empire's rituals truly held sway over the minds of men—or if it was simple human apathy and incompetence which precipitated these daily emergencies.
This version of events may already be known to you! They are recounted in Kinkyuutai Shinsaver, a Toei anime and accompanying toy series from the year 2000. In certain markets, pleased with the cost-effectiveness of importing Car Robots for western audiences as Robots in Disguise, Hasbro would then do the same for this series—adding their own iconography and references that might be more recognisable, along with two new toys designed from scratch to fit the more militarized concept: the "Night Raven" stealth jet piloted by Snake Eyes, and General Tomahawk's "Super Slugger" battle tank. The line was unpopular with existing fans in the US, as the gimmick-heavy vehicles and 2" figures with limited articulation did not scale nicely with their older toys, but it sold well with its target audience, and the vehicles' action features went on to inspire similar gimmicks in Transformers: Armada toys developed later that year.
Anyway, I can see why you might not at first draw the connection to the continent-spanning battles between Optimus Prime's Autobots and Megatron's Predacons, as these groups never directly interacted at the time. It was only many years later that hidden "Ask Vector Prime" text in Transformers: Animated: The AllSpark Almanac II would declare that both Transformers: Robots in Disguise and G.I. Joe: Rescue Corps, together with A.T.O.M. - Alpha Teens on Machines, all took place in the same universal stream, Viron 901.8 Alpha.

LOCATION: pls choose FOR: @thedcrkroom (emilio)
"Emilio," she spoke, not looking at him, her eyes trained upwards as his name fell from her lips. Emotion could not be discerned from neither her expression or the tone of her voice, monotone, almost robotic. Scarlett was waiting, for a hint she would swear she'd been promised in a dream the night before, God finally ending her silence to say anything at all to Scarlett, who was beginning to think she had angered Her somehow. Understandably, she was only mourning as well. "I am pleased to see you made it out of the bonfire."

The Adventure of the Finder and the Whisperer.
By @demonicdragonfire and me
Chapter 4: A Discovery of Memory
“Ow! That hurts!” Nebula was being healed and having bandages wrapped around her leg. “Don't worry, you're going to be just fine.” Nathaniel said. Nebula was just moving around a lot, stubborn to stay still, “It hurt though!!”’ “It's supposed to hurt, it's not supposed to be unharmful.” Nathaniel said. Nathaniel finished the bandages. “...?” Nebula looked at their leg, “Done?” “Yep.” Nathaniel said as he tied the last bandage. “...So who was that other…person that was chasing us?” Nebula asked. “You mean Scarlett?” Nathaniel asked. “No, no. The other person.” Nebula said, “The guy with the commander hat and blue hair?” “Magnus…” Nathaniel said.
“Magnus? Oh. Who is he? You seem to know who he is.” Nebula asked, they seemed to be full of questions as usual. “I don't know who he is!” Nathaniel says, genuinely honest about it. “Aw. I wanted to learn more…” Nebula said. "I'm sorry but I don't know what to tell you." Nathaniel said. “Zert- Hello passengers. Where are we going today?” The announcements went on. “I… Don't even know at this point. I don't know where we're even going anymore!” Nathaniel said. “Where's…the next stop?” Nebula asked. “ZERT- Robo-con. Would you like to go there?” The announcements went on again. “A robo-con?” Nathaniel asked very interested. “Would you like more info ZERT- Nathaniel [the explorer]?” The announcement said. “With pleasure.” Nathaniel said. “Robo-con. The place of robotics and engineering. One of the best machines is created here.” The announcement was explaining. “Robotics and engineering you say?” Nathaniel asked. “ZERT- Yes.” The announcement agreed. “Now this is something I'll be interested in.” Nathaniel smiled.”Would you like to go there?” The announcement asked.
“Yes… because I have a plan…” Nathaniel said. He looked for Nebula but they were gone. “Nebby?” Nathaniel said. He began looking for them. “Nebby, where are you?” Nathaniel looked frantic. He looked in a few train cars, and couldn’t find her. Finally he went to a train cart with some toys and books, kinda like a cart for kids, and saw Nebula in there playing with some toy trains. “Nebby! You were here the whole time?” Nathaniel asked. “? Hi Nathaniel!” Nebula looked at him and smiled. “Huh… wait… who's driving!?” Nathaniel asked frantically. “The train.” Nebula went back to playing with the trains they had. “Uh…” Nathaniel said. Nebula had an opened book next them but they didn’t pay much attention. “What are you reading anyways?” Nathaniel asked. “...? Oh this? I was just looking at the pictures.” Nebula dropped the toy trains and lifted the book. The title of the chapter was “The Great Republic of Spellbinders”. “...Do you know who these people are?” Nebula asked. “...” Nathaniel was silent for a moment until he broke the silence. "Those are my folks…" He said while he broke down a little. “...Oh.” Nebula said, a bit confused but went over to comfort him.
“... Thanks.” Nathaniel said softly. “Could you help me read this?” Nebula asked, lifting up the book. “What is it?” Nathaniel asked. “This chapter. I like looking at the pictures but I’m having a hard time reading this.” Nebula goes over to their same spot and sits down. “Hmm, this says that it was dated on September 3rd 2000… that's the year I was born!” Nathaniel said. "Nebby, where did you get this?" He asked. “...I don’t know…?” Nebula said, “ I just found it on the train! Maybe someone put it here because they bought it. Just because the date says it was in that year, I think it doesn’t mean that you can’t still buy it.” “But Who would leave this on here and know who my folks are?” Nathaniel said silently.
“...I don’t know… OOO! The title says “The Great War of Magic!” I wonder what this is about. And it says it was before you were born!” Nebula flipped the page, “...Hm.” Nathaniel noticed that Nebula was trying to read it. “To the person who is in this photo, you must follow the steps into finding your loved ones. And if you do, you will be rewarded with a wish…” Nathaniel read through the book. "So this is like a treasure map? And it knows where my folks are?" Nathaniel said. “…The Great War of Magic… Long ago 6 magicians helped the world from chaos but that all ended when a dark sorceress was trying to rule the world. The 6 fought all they could and when the hope was almost at the end, the magicians used all the magic they could to end the sorceress and her magic. The war ended….” Nebula was reading the words of the page and flipped it.
A photo dropped out with a map. The photo had a younger looking boy like Nathaniel and 6 other people who were blurred out. “Huh? What's this?” Nathaniel said while picking up the photo. “Is that you?” Nebula looked at the young boy in the photo. “It is me…” Nathaniel said. Then something snapped in his mind and started to flip over the book. “W-What are you doing?” Nebula was confused. "I REMEMBER NOW!" Nathaniel shouted. “What do you remember?” Nebula asked until Nathaniel grabbed the map and spread it. He pointed to a plot of area called “Robo-con”.
“I REMEMBER MAGNUS!” Nathaniel shouted again. “…I’m sorry you lost me.” Nebula was sitting down with the toy trains watching him. “Magnus, my long lost friend!” Nathaniel looked at Nebula. “…So you can answer my question!” Nebula exclaimed. “Yes! I know him!” Nathaniel answered. “Yes yes yes! Now we can know more of the bad guys now! And why the heck they're after us.” Nebula put her hands in the air. “Huh?” Nathaniel looked over and saw Scarlett and Magnus chasing them. "IT'S THEM! STOP THE TRAIN!" Nathaniel exclaimed.
Nathaniel and Nebula raced to the front of the train. “How did they get on the train?! We are still in the spacey thing!” Nebula asked, panicking, “We are still driving in the void thing! How are they on the train!?” “They must've followed us! We have to stop so I can explain to them clearly!” Nathaniel said. “CAN'T WE JUST THROW THEM OF THE TRAIN!?” Nebula Shouted. "ABSOLUTELY NOT! We have to talk to them!" Nathaniel said. Nebula stopped and kicked over a box nearby. It was filled with toys. “…Why are there so many toys on this train? …I LOVE IT!” Nebula looked at Nathaniel. “Oh alright…” Nathaniel sighed.
Nathaniel grabbed her and ran to the front of the train. “…my tidiness is kicking in.” Scarlett says. “Not now!” Magnus was gently kicking the toys out of the way. In the front of the train, Nathaniel was trying to make the train stop. “Come on! Which one are you!?” He said as he pressed everything. “If the train doesn’t want to work, it doesn’t want to work!” Nebula was watching the window for Magnus and Scarlett. “Any luck?” Nathaniel asked. The train whistled like it didn’t like Nathaniel and wanted him off the front. “Oh how rude. Nathaniel is trying to stop the train from bad guys.” Nebula patted the walls of the train. “I think I see them!” Nathaniel said. Magnus and Scarlett seemed close but then they just disappeared. “...Where did they go?” Nebula looked out the window. Then the train shook violently and Nathaniel and Nebula looked. Magnus and Scarlett, who was in her “Mother of Mantalites” form, destroyed the constellation tracks that the train was making. “Oh I am hopelessly sorry for the delay! But we have a meeting to get to. Catch you dweebs later!” Magnus laughed and a portal opened up behind them. They went in and it closed. “ATTENTION! The constellation tracks have been damaged. This will cause a delay for….about 15 minutes. Maybe more.” THe train announcements said. “Aw what!?” Nathaniel said. “Nathaniel [the explorer] don’t be- ZERT- harsh. Train is trying to fix up.” The announcements said. “...Sure Magnus can act all crazy at times but he was never villainess…” Nathaniel said. “…Tell me more about Magnus! I wanna know too!” Nebula shouted. “Well back in the day Magnus would go around and start causing trouble so he could get what he wanted. But when we got older he once stole someone's purse and ran away. And I never saw him again, until today.” Nathaniel said. “…that sounds…like it’s missing a few pieces.” Nebula says. “What do you mean by that?” Nathaniel asked. “I mean that it sounds like it’s not whole! Like a puzzle piece!” Nebula said, “And I don’t know…but maybe he is doing this because of another reason!”
“...hmm.” Nathaniel thought for a second until something popped up. "GASP!" “…did you gasp for a good thing or bad.” Nebula asked. “The reason he's doing this is because he wanted attention he once told me!” Nathaniel said. “…Well that sounds reasonable. But I’m still confused… *yawn*” Nebula yawned. She was tired. “You're tired now!?” Nathaniel shouted. “!!! Sorry sir! I was just dozing off! The train…it makes me tired at times.” Nebula snapped out of her tiredness but she was still sleepy. “Hmm…” Nathaniel sighed. “…Can I go to sleep now? I mean there is a delay.” Nebula looked at him. “I guess…” Nathaniel said. “Can you…promise me something?” Nebula asked. “What is it?” Nathaniel asked.
“Promise me you’ll wake me up. I’m scared that I am going to sleep forever.” Nebula said. “Alright.” Nathaniel said. Nebula went to the bunk room and went to her bed and closed her eyes. Moments later she fell asleep. “Huh… hopefully I'll patch things up with Magnus soon.” Nathaniel said as he went to sleep.
“...ZERT- Arriving at Robo-Con in 2 minutes.” The announcements said, “Nebula [owner of train]. Nathaniel [the explorer]. Wake up.” “...Mhm…” Nebula was in deep sleep. “...GZERT- …NATHANIEL [the explorer] WAKE THE CHILD!” The announcements yelled. Nathaniel crashed onto the floor and out of his bed. "Oh right!" Nathaniel rushed over to nebula and shook her.
Nebula, the deep sleeper she is, didn’t wake up. Nathaniel just took her off the bed and grabbed her telescope. “WAKE UP!!!” Nathaniel shouted. “!!!!” Nebula woke up and got scared. “Oh good you're awake! We're almost at robo-con!” Nathaniel exclaimed. “…did you…have to yell in my ears?” Nebula was still tired. “Yep.” Nathaniel said.
“…” Nebula went silent. The train poofed and went into a toy train again. Nathaniel looked ahead at the robotic area. A sign was near and it seemed to be a screen. It says, “Welcome to Robo-Con!” "We're here!" Nathaniel shouted.

G.I. Joe, Transformers Crossover on the Horizon
Tumblr media
Chris Hemsworth might be suiting up for a whole new kind of battle. Deadline is reporting that the Aussie actor is in talks to star in a Paramount Pictures mash-up movie featuring everyone's favorite 80s toy lines: G.I. Joe and Transformers! Hemsworth is no stranger to big-budget action flicks. He crushed it as the hammer-wielding Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and even starred in the record-breaking Netflix movie "Extraction." Now, it looks like he might be trading his hammer for a laser rifle or maybe even a giant wrench (because, robots). A Match Made in Toy Heaven? The idea of G.I. Joe and Transformers teaming up isn't exactly new. The two franchises actually crossed paths in a comic book series back in the 80s. And last year's "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" movie even teased a potential cinematic crossover in a post-credits scene. Chris Hemsworth adding his involvement would be a major win for Paramount. He's already voicing Optimus Prime in the upcoming "Transformers One" animated movie, so he kind of knows the drill. Plus, with his charisma and action hero skills, he'd be a perfect fit for this epic throwdown between soldiers and robots. Will this be the ultimate 80s nostalgia trip, or a box office bomb? Only time will tell. But one thing's for sure: getting these two legendary franchises together is a gamble Paramount is willing to take. So, get ready for a battle unlike any other, because when G.I. Joe and the Transformers join forces, the fate of the world (and maybe your childhood memories) hangs in the balance! G.I. Joe: America's Elite Soldiers G.I. Joe first burst onto the scene in 1964 as a line of action figures from Hasbro. The Joes, led by the iconic Duke, were a team of highly trained special forces soldiers who battled the evil Cobra organization. The franchise exploded in popularity in the 80s with a cartoon series and a ton of new characters, from Scarlett and Snake Eyes to Roadblock and Destro. Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye The Transformers were another Hasbro toy line that hit it big in the 80s. These robots in disguise could transform from vehicles like cars and jets into powerful warriors, either Autobots (good guys) led by Optimus Prime or Decepticons (bad guys) led by Megatron. The Transformers also got their own cartoon series in the 80s, featuring epic battles and catchphrases like "Yelling in robot voice is required by law!"   (Source: Deadline) Read the full article

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy Gen 3 Spotlight - Scarlett Akiyama
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Scarlett is the older daughter of Maisie and Taku Akiyama. As a child, Scarlett took to playing violin and really found a passion for it. When she aged into a teenager, she took up exercising to lose weight. She committed to working out multiple times a day, becoming very slim, but she still found herself not quite happy with her body. She discovered the benefits of weight gain and strength training and shifted her workouts to suit that. She has now found herself at a size she feels comfortable with and is stronger than ever. Scarlett was diagnosed with ADHD as a teenager and began taking medication to help her regulate. She finds herself oftentimes hyperfocused on becoming the best at something and then getting bored of it when there's no longer a challenge. She often switches things up as a result. This includes her style, which has evolved tremendously through the years.
Scarlett grew her interests in exercise and music, mastering fitness, violin, guitar, and singing. She enrolled in Foxbury University on a sports scholarship and graduated, which was not always easy when her ADHD made sitting and getting homework done difficult. She relied heavily on her medication to help her focus long enough to complete the workload of college and managed to finish her degree. After graduating, she started a career in computer engineering. She easily reached the top of the career branch and found herself bored with the job, so she left to pursue a brief career as an athlete. She began developing fears of missing out on her dreams and a dead-end job, so she quit.
Scarlett discovered she was both asexual and aromantic as a teenager from trial-and-error. After her experiences, she realized love and intimacy just weren't things she was interested in, and abstained from them. The only time she did not was when she built her own robot, whom she thought might be a good partner should she choose to have a family. Unfortunately, her robot became too sentient and began to pursue a relationship with another woman, so the two went their separate ways, but not before welcoming a daughter, Sabrina, together. Sabrina has both of their last names as a result. However, Scarlett raises Sabrina without the bot's help. She bonds with her daughter over a shared love of fitness and sports.
Scarlett is now an adult-age sim caring for her daughter and her late sister's two children Anya and Robin with her brother-in-law Armani. The two adults have a very comfortable and healthy parenting relationship, both worrying heavily about older teenager Anya, who has been rebelling a lot as of late and has continued the trend of teen pregnancy in the family. Scarlett tried her best to support her niece after her mother's death and stop her from making the same mistakes she and Kira made, but feels defeated seeing Anya become a mother before she was ready and experimenting with substances, something Scarlett did briefly before cutting all of it out in order to live a healthier lifestyle. She has not given up on her niece though and hopes things can turn around for her.

Do have any headcanons for what pets certain yansim characters have? :)
Akademi Students with pets
Class 1-1
Efude Nurimono has two playful Exotic Shorthair cats. One orange and one white. Because of her obsession with anime, she named her cats “Miyuki” and “Yamiko” inspired by two of her favorite series: Magical Girl Pretty Miyuki and Life Note.
Kokuma Jutsu has an Atlas Moth that she caught in the forest near her house that she simply named “Atlas”.  Despite being harmless, most of her friends are scared of it due to how big it is (Atlas Moths are the largest moths in the world)
Kokona Haruka has a grey Chartreux kitten she found at the back of Akademi and adopted it. She named it “Mittens” because of the kitten’s soft paws.
Shima Shiya has a black and white Japanese Bobtail and a Dalmatian named “Dice” and “Domino” because of there black and white spotted color schemes. The two animals always seem to be at odds with each other despite Shima trying multiple methods to have them get along.
Shiromi Torayoshi has a Sphynx Cat that she named “Dog” with the sole purpose of confusing people and weirding them out. Sometimes she puts him in the clubroom which always freaks out Kuroko, who isn’t a big fan of Sphynx cats in particular.
Class 1-2
Supana Churu has three black Burmese cats named “Onyx”, “Midnight”, and “Shadow” (how edgy). When she’s at home reading the books she retrieved from the Occult Club’s bookshelves, her cats like to curl up next to her and rub against her.
Tokuko Kitagawa has a white Bichon Frise named “Lily” that she got in an attempt to one up Kizana once again. Unlike Kizana, however, Tokuko genuinely loves her dog and takes great pride and care in her
Ajia Ashitomi has a Siberian Husky named “Buster”. Every time Ajia goes to the dog park, Buster always gets let loose and wreaks havoc on the other dogs much to Ajia’s horror. Thankfully none of the other dogs get injured
Meka Nikaru always wanted to own a Red Crowned Crane as a pet, but raising a crane incredibly difficult and even dangerous. Because of this, she built a robotic crane that behaves almost exactly like its living counterpart except it is not aggressive towards people.
Midori Gurin has a green pet parakeet named “Chirp”. This bird is a massive chatterbox, which for Midori its great, but for everyone else its incredibly annoying.
Yuna Hina has a Holland Lop rabbit named “Marshmallow”. Raising her pet is one of the few things she is able to do successfully on her own.
Class 2-1
Riku Soma has a grey British Shorthair named “Barnaby”. He gets along very well with Mittens, Kokona’s cat and even has a little top hat made for him.
Sakura Hagiwara has a German Shepard named “Stellaluna”. The reason she has her is because her parents gave it to her in the event that she needed a service animal in the future (her dog is a certified service animal).
Gaku Hikitsuri has a white Samoyed dog that’s very affectionate named “Monster” (how ironic). Gaku named him that to try and make him seem intimidating, but he still enjoys his affection. He really wants a cat, but because his mother is allergic to cats he can’t get one.
Ayano Aishi has a white and grey Ragamuffin that was given to her by Kokona. To keep with a theme of Kokona’s cat, she named him “Gloves”
Osana Najimi has an orange and white Snowshoe cat named “Marmalade”. Marmalade always gets out of the house and Osana usually spends a few hours looking for her.
Class 2-2
Oka Ruto has a grey Maine Coon she got from the animal shelter named “Thunder”. She was fascinated by how large the cat was compared to the other cats at the shelter and wanted to study it.
(Warning: Mention of Animal Neglect) Kizana Sunobu has a white Turkish Angora named “Rose”. She only got her in order for her to appear more opulent and wealthy, and doesn’t take care of her at all. Her parents have to to take care of her instead.
Amai Odayaka has a Russian Blue cat named “Sugar”.  Sugar recently gave birth to 7 kittens, and this event caused a big debate in the Odayaka household on whether they should keep the kittens or not.
Hayanari Tsumeato has a Bulldog named “Vesuvius”. He is a very aggressive dog that is known to bite anyone and everyone. The only exception to this is Hayanari
Sakyu Basu and Inkyu Basu have a white Poodle named “Abella”. They like to dress her up in various outfits and accessories for fun. Inkyu once attempted to put lipstick on her, which resulted in Sakyu scolding her.
Class 3-1
Kenko Sukoyaka has a pet turtle named “Jupiter”. He usually feeds him vegetables that he grows in his garden
Borupen Saishiki has a pet Ball Python named “Diablo”. Sometimes he sneaks him in to school to terrorize other people. As a result of this, his bag had to be checked regularly for a month.
Sho Kunin has a Bloodhound named “Copper.” He hopes to train it to become a police dog for when he joins the police when he becomes an adult.
Akane Toriyasu has a pet Cardinal named “Scarlett”. Scarlett tends to sing cute little melodies in order to wake Akane up.
Kashiko Murasaki has a Chow Chow named “Butterscotch”. Sometimes Butterscotch jumps on her to wake her up or before she leaves, which sometimes ends up with her showing up to school covered in dog hair.
Class 3-2
Budo Masuta has a white Bull Terrier named “Rocky”. He often runs with Rocky in the morning in order for both of them to get some exercise
Uekiya Engeika has a pet Siamese Cat named “Poppy.” 85% of the time Poppy is covered in dirt because she tends to roll around in the dirt piles while Uekiya is gardening.
Kuroko Kamenaga has a pet Guinea Pig named “Cookie”. After being constantly pestered about getting a pet by Shiromi, she only wanted a small animal that would be low maintenance.
Musume Ronshaku has a tan pet French Bulldog named “Cashmere”. This is one of the things that Musume whined to her daddy for the most.
WOW this has to be the longest request I did. This was such an interesting and unique request and I hope I didn't dissapoint

BLACK WIDOW
It shouldn’t have taken this long to happen, but now that it’s finally arrived Black Widow was (almost) everything it needed to be.
Admittedly, it’s a little difficult not to harbor at least a small amount of animosity toward Marvel Studios regarding the first (and almost certainly only) solo outing for Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson). Black Widow should have, at minimum, replaced the release of Captain Marvel in 2019, if not arrived years earlier. One of the founding members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s version of The Avengers deserved a more prominent placement in the canon thus far. But, none of that is really the fault of this particular film or the people directly responsible for making it, but I felt it necessary to specify that upfront.
Given that Natasha has already (spoilers for a three-year-old film, I guess) died, it made me wonder what the point of giving her a solo film would even be at this juncture of the MCU. Making it a prequel, though technically necessary, sounded even less interesting. That said, once this thing hits home video you can quite easily slip it in right after Captain America: Civil War where it belongs and nearly all of the release timing issues will simply melt away.
So how does it fare when you’re watching it right now in the theater (or on Disney+ Premiere Access)? I was honestly a bit surprised at how much I enjoyed it and at how well it holds itself up as a standalone adventure, albeit with some notable flaws.
After a brief prologue in 1990s Ohio where it shows Natasha and her little sister Yelena were raised by a pair of Russian sleeper agents, we pick things up right after the events of Captain America: Civil War. Natasha is on the run having betrayed her commitment to the Sokovia Accords (the pact which outlaws all superhero activity not explicitly sanctioned by the United Nations). She heads out into the middle of nowhere and does her best to lay low (she’s a big fan of the James Bond movie Moonraker, it turns out). But it’s not long before trouble comes calling.
Natasha wasn’t the only child groomed to be part of the Widow program. Yelena (Florence Pugh) grew up to become quite the adept secret agent as well, only she’s discovered the hard way that her generation of Widows have all been genetically brainwashed after being unexpectedly dosed with a vaccine that reverses the mental locks put into place. Now on the run herself, Yelena attempts to reunite with Natasha in an attempt to free their Widow sisters and take down the so-called Red Room program.
The ensuing film moves at an appropriate breakneck pace with all the motorcycles, car chases, fist fights, shootouts, derring do and clandestine political intrigue that one would expect to find in any given movie starring the likes of Jason Bourne. And like Jason Bourne’s escapades, this becomes a very personal mission for Natasha and Yelena as they seek to enact vengeance upon the organization and people who so callously disregard the humanity of the women they reprogram and exploit.
There’s a pleasing physicality at play throughout the action and mayhem of Black Widow. Granted, that’s almost by necessity given that all but one major character lacks anything resembling traditional super powers, so the action takes on a more grounded feel than what we typically get from a Marvel movie where robotic suits of armor, demigods and mystical arts have become de rigueur, bordering on passe’. It doesn’t (or perhaps can’t) measure up to the type of action and stunts offered up by the likes of, say, the recent Mission: Impossible films but it’s still satisfying and engaging on its own terms.
That said, what makes this more than just The Bourne Imitation, though, is the focus and attention on the ersatz family that ends up being the heart of the film. Natasha and Yelena are initially abandoned by Alexei (David Harbour) and Milena (Rachel Weisz), only to once again be thrust together decades later. This culminates in a wonderful scene at a dinner table where everyone slips back into their domestic roles both knowingly and not. There is both conflict and affection flowing back and forth, and not always equally. But the chemistry and writing at play turns this scene and, as a group, these characters and this scene into something that rarely rears its head within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Harbour has sort of cemented his career playing lovable schlubs and that’s played to maximum effect (and affect) here as he charismatically lumbers his way through each scene as the Soviety Union’s own Communism-loving Captain America knock-off The Red Guardian. Alexei’s blowhard nature is quite often played up for comedic effect (even during fight scenes) but Harbour still manages to allow an endearing sincerity to shine through, especially when he’s interacting with his “daughters.”
Weisz, sadly, is given very little to do though she makes the most of it. It’s Pugh and Johansson who, rightly, carry the weight of the entire proceeding. Their interactions feel human, fully informed and realized thanks to years of resentment, hardship and all that comes with being a hyper-trained super spy. Pugh and Johansson carry it naturally and with ease. Johansson deserved to have this film much sooner, but I will at least admit that having it this late in the game does at least allow for Johansson to draw from a deeper slate of the character’s history and experience, lending additional weight to the proceedings. Pugh also is a superb actor in her own right and at the risk of spoilers, let’s just say that I can’t wait to see where she takes Yelena further down the road.
If there’s a significant flaw to Black Widow it’s that the story’s central villain leaves a lot to be desired, and not just by the fairly high standards Marvel Studios has set with its canon of villains. I realize that not every film can have a Loki or Killmonger or Hela-caliber villain, and certainly more than a few MCU films have faltered when it comes to the bad guy in charge. But so much of Black Widow’s thematic weight comes from watching these women reclaim their lives from the men who stole them. Natasha has an engaging encounter with Dreykov (Ray Winstone), the man behind the Red Room, but there’s too little meat there, too little actualized history for it to mean much. It doesn’t help that Winstone’s performance is wildly, distractingly uneven as he wavers constantly between a cartoonish persona and delivering actual menace. To say nothing of his hilariously inconsistent accent.
Despite this, Black Widow largely succeeds at providing a proper sendoff both for the character and for Johansson via an exciting outing that’s got heart and laughs to spare.

Review: BLACK WIDOW Finally Gives Scarlett Johansson’s Character the Storytelling to Truly Blossom
Tumblr media
It’s actually nice when you can go into a Marvel movie these days with very few expectations, and a lot of surprises still intact, and what do you know? Marvel has done it again with Black Widow, a movie that finally shines enough of the spotlight on Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff to really flesh out the character in ways that’s hardly seems possible when she’s competing for screen time against a Downey, two (sometimes, three) Chrises, and a Hulk.
Even believing that I know quite a lot about Black Widow's history from the comics, I still don’t think I was quite ready for what we end up getting, since Black Widow still managed to be very different from what I expected after watching the trailers. It’s actually pretty cool that a Marvel movie can be delayed a whole year, but not feel like you’ve seen every cool thing in the advance marketing.
The Cliff Notes synopsis is that this takes place sometime earlier during Avengers history (my guess is after Captain America: Civil War), but it forces Natasha Romanoff to revisit her past being trained and conditioned in the Russian Red Room where she learned all her specialized killing skills. She also wasn’t alone, as the Red Room, run by Ray Winstone’s Dreykov, has spent the past few decades plucking young girls off the streets and away from their parents to turn them into similarly conditioned fighting machines.
Tumblr media
But first, we begin in an idyllic Ohio setting in 1995 as we see Natasha’s family during happier times -- actually, placed in the USA as sleeper agents -- before Natasha and her younger sister Yelena were taken away by Dreykov. We reconnect with Yelena twenty years later when Yelena (as played by Florence Pugh) is on a field mission to retrieve vials containing a glowing red substance that turns out to be the one thing that can break the control Dreykov has over his Black Widow agents. It’s not long before we reconnect with Natasha, who is in hiding, because the Avengers are on the lam from the government due to the events in Civil War or maybe Age of Ultron. Honestly, it doesn’t really matter.
What it comes down to is that Natasha has learned that the Red Room is still operational, and she vows to destroy it with Yelena. But first, they have to free their father, former Russian superhero Red Guardian (David Harbour), who has been languishing in a Russian jail for the past 20 years, betrayed by his own government. Since he doesn’t have a clue where the Red Room is, they go to find the girl’s “mother” Melina (Rachel Weisz), who might be able to help them.
And honestly, that’s probably all that I want to say about the plot, because a lot of what happens after the family from the opening sequence is reunited goes so far into spoiler territory that I hesitate to say much more. So I won’t.
What makes the first half of Black Widow so intriguing is that you kind of are trying to figure out what is happening, because nothing is quite as cut and dry as other Marvel movies. In many ways, it’s more like a Bourne movie with Natasha and Yelena trying to revisit their past and save others from suffering a similar fate. While doing so, they fight a number of similarly-trained agents, as well as Taskmaster, a seemingly robotic killer that’s able to replicate anyone’s skills or fighting moves.
Tumblr media
I will jump in here and say that I’ve ALWAYS loved Taskmaster as a villain from the comics, and seeing him on the big screen made me a little bummed, because I still have deep seller’s remorse from having to get rid of my entire 40-year comic book collection a few years back for way less than it was worth. Among those tens of thousands of comics was a long run of Avengers issues, including the one that introduced Taskmaster, and how couldn’t you love a character that looked so cool and could replicate everything the Avengers could do, whether it’s shooting arrows like Hawkeye or throwing a shield like Captain America? It doesn’t take long before we have a great fight between Taskmaster and Natasha early on, but then there’s an even better one involving an amazing chase through the streets of Budapest when Natasha and Yelena are reunited.
Black Widow will probably remind you of the Bourne movies, but one of the reasons is because there are so many global locations one after another bam, bam, bam… we’re in Morocco and then Norway and then Budapest… and if you pay attention during the end credits, you’ll see that they actually went to all those places. I could give another obvious reference (flagrantry teased earlier in the movie), but that would indeed be a HUGE spoiler. I will say that this is one of Marvel’s stronger “solo” movies since Captain America: Winter Soldier, probably because it deals in similar spy/political thriller territory, just in a grittier and more visceral way, while also touching upon the mind control over the Winter Soldier character.
For those that Black Widow will be their first experience with a film directed by Cate Shortland, she’s an Australian filmmaker who started out with indies like Somersault and Lore. Like Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins, she hasn’t made a ton of movies before Black Widow -- exactly three in 15 years. But clearly, that formula seems to work, because there’s nothing in Shortland’s previous movies that could have informed me that she would be capable of doing a movie as big and full of jaw-dropping action as this one.
More than anything, it’s kind of nice to have a movie that mostly stands alone, and doesn’t really have anything to do with Thanos or Infinity Stones or anything but casual mentions of the Avengers. The movie acts exactly as it’s meant to in giving Johansson’s character who was killed in Avengers: Infinity War, a chance to really show how much more there is to her than we’ve seen previously.
Tumblr media
The main four actors are great as they’re brought together, but it’s really Johansson and Pugh -- the latter having never really shown a proclivity for humor on screen -- whose chemistry makes up the core of the character dynamics. Harbour brings something else entirely, which is much bigger comedy relief, and then Weisz’s character… well, she’s just a great mystery from the second we’re reintroduced to her during the second half. When the four of them are together, the film does get slightly more emotional, but it’s also the first time when things slow down, and you can feel it.
Because I’m not reviewing for Below the Line, I won’t get into all the amazing work by Shortland’s team, but I do want to give special attention to the soundtrack by Lorne Balfe, who also provided the music for another movie I really liked, actually hitting streaming this week. I’m definitely becoming a fan.
Black Widow is an excellent return to theaters for Marvel, showing that the initial casting of Johannson and the weight put on Shortland’s shoulders to deliver a worthy Marvel action movie were both fully warranted. Maybe we won’t be seeing this Black Widow again, but a new world in the MCU has been revealed with this movie that builds upon the MCU’s proven ability to flow freely between genres.
Listen, I will say this, just as I’ve said in many reviews over the past few months: Black Widow was made by thousands of skilled people on both sides of the camera. You will see all their names go past as you wait for the inevitable end credits tag (and it’s a good one!). You’ll definitely enjoy watching their work in a theater more than watching it on any size television or projection screen. Sure, $30 is not that much money to watch the movie in the comforts of your own home, but Marvel makes these movies so that people can react and interact with others. So do them all a favor, and get off your couch and go see Black Widow in a theater.
Rating: 8.5/10

ALL-STARS -STORY MODE- CHAPTER 18 PART 3
Part 2
Part 4
Half way there.
Give thanks to @this-person-is-slowly-dying for providing artwork for the story, give her credit for this. :)
“But it’s not safe!"
A familiar phase from Brad had woken up Edward, it wasn’t in his own terms as he had believed originally, the familiar setting as he got up from the floor and looked around the area on his hands and much to his shock, he was back at the entrance plaza but everyone seemed not to notice him.
“I’m back here?” as he looked around the familiar people that were unfortunate at the time of the zombies breach as he looked at the entrance and it seemed like it was like before; zombies on the other side of the locked doors, moaning as they gashed at the air and scratching as the rest of the horde stood waiting outside.
It felt like time had been replayed those hours before Frank West had come here, his allies and the townspeople, Brad and Jessie, repeating the same lines almost as if they were on repeat; a memory.
He tried to grab onto Scarlett’s shoulder to get her attention but he was shocked to see that his hand went right through her, like a ghost.
“Vhat is zhis….?” he muttered under his breath, as he watched them come and go to block off the entrance of the mall, he heard a familiar voice that he knew and dreaded.
“Memory within a dream, as you would look at the seams.”
He turned to look at the Cheshire Cat, who was sitting down on a bench who seemed to have noticed Scarlett and Primis Nikolai going over to him and then picked up the bench with the cat on it, oblivious to his presence.
He got up in a stretch and then jumped off the bench and then walked over to the Doctor on all four legs, by that point, Primis Richtofen was growing accustomed to Cheshire's presence and annoyed with the rhyming as well.
“I am more annoyed for myself to be here more than once but I suppose zhat zhis time, your grin’s comforting.”
Cheshire Cat then sat down to make himself comfortable, “Becoming accustomed to such things already, how are ordeals that you grow to be adjusted?”
“Frank Vest had given us a stronger fortress, ve are vaiting for rescue to arrive as he had put it.”
“Away from danger is the major priority.” Cheshire Cat nodded to that as he grinned once more, “Yet, a reminder to retain your stay here; an upright habit as I have once stated before, the white rabbit is here once more.”
“Edward!” Rabbit Shaw had called out, he turned to look at the hallway where Dr.Barnaby was and saw the white rabbit, Shaw as the rabbit once more who lifted up his pocket watch and tapped his finger on it while Dr. Barnaby got to the guard rail control panel, opening it and then pressing the button and the guard rails began to slowly go down.
Edward then looked and saw a familiar as well, the Oxford girl from before who was looking at the guard rails as he then looked to where she was looking; the original white rabbit who ran off.
Converting her to run after it, Richtofen had wasted no time to chase her through the hallway under the rails before the section of the Entrance Plaza was closed much to Dr. Barnaby’s chagrin as he yelled about something but he paid no attention to him at the moment.
He followed the girl through the mostly empty Alfreasca plaza as they now mostly walked down in it, the White Rabbit and Rabbit Shaw entered one of the stores as they watched. Provoking the woman to run again with the Doctor jogging behind her as they saw in time to see the two rabbits had gone through the backdoor.
“Vhere are you going?” he muttered as he watched the Oxford woman walk over to the door slowly while he followed suit and watched her slowly open the door that revealed nothing else but darkness behind it but the light had shown there was a sew of stairs going down into the shadows.
They both looked down and saw the two white rabbits descending down the staircase and the door, strange yet familiar, had gone upward, almost a steamed blast from it and automatic and revealed the light to them, allowing them both to enter with ease.
Edward was against the idea of going down the stairs but the curiosity seemed to get the better of the woman as she, against better judgement, goes down the stairs much to his chagrin as he said “Vait-”
Edward Richtofen sighed in defeat as he goes with her down the stairs, as the temperatures plummeted down to levels of winter as they descended down the stairs as he heard the familiar groans of the damned, moans of the doomed and all too familiar screeching of the air raid siren from the opened door as they both entered the darkness within moments after the light faded from their forms.
They had been walking downward as it seemed forever but it cleared the way when they finally reached the light at the bottom of the stairs as it shined through the automated door that remained open for the two of them to go through it.
Richtofen shielded his eyes from the blinded light with his arm as they entered the ‘room’ down below, when the light subsided; the first things that met him were drops of rain and the sight before him that was all too familiar yet terrifying for him to be in.
His eyes had gone wide with shock and distress with the scene laid before him, not that he had changed back to his Dead Wanderer attire but something else: a place where the first outbreak of zombies happened.
Excavation Site 64
The familiar settings of the dig site is the way as it usually was; dead corpses and decaying carrion are the same, the trenches are the same, the weather here is the same, and the atmosphere of World War I was the same as ever but no zombies to be found much to his relief.
When he turned to look at the woman that he had followed and he saw that she was wearing different attire as well, both familiar yet strange at the same time.
Tumblr media
[Digitally drawn by Meaghan “Icefir” Halter]
What was once a disheveled, borderline mess of reality she lived in was washed away and replaced with a more beautiful yet much healthier version of who she was.
She has longer, straight healthy black hair that passed down her shoulders, healthier pale skin with what appears to be makeup with peach lipstick and black eyeliner with a dark pink eyeshadow over her emerald green eyes as she wore a navy blue dress with just a simple white apron completed with a white bow with what happens to be a skull in order to make it a bow to complete the choice of fashion over the dress. She has black and white striped stockings underneath, and two black knee-high boots with silver buckles used to secure it.
The white apron’s two pockets had the two symbols on each one: Eris ♁ and Jupiter ♃ as the apron itself was blown gently in the winds of winter and the storm. Upon closer look, he saw that she was wearing the necklace of the Greek symbol, the omega Ω.
As if the fashion choice was not yet enough for you, dear Player/Reader, there’s more; crimson red liquid splatters and drips on the dress and it was even on her hands, like she had been at the crime scene or she had gone on a murdering spree, or even a massacre of all types.
Edward had found himself unable to look away from the sight, his thoughts racing in his head as he muttered “Is she…?”
The woman, Alice Liddell, turned and then walked towards the section that goes deeper into the dig site itself. Snapping out of this trace, Richtofen hurried along the corridors of the trenches that he remembered all too well to forget, nearly being forgotten out of existence like a withering weed is now right here in front of him.
He had began to inspect her through the Excavation Site as they walked down the forgotten paths through the trenches, Richtofen had reminisced this as the first meeting of the three other soldiers that are unlucky enough yet on the right time came and helped put the stop to the new plague before it could spread.
Alice looked around the fallen church with the tank residing within it, she looked at the ancient burial for the fallen knights of the medieval ages, she looked at the bunkers once belongs to Group 935, she looked at the tunnels that leads to the “Crazy Place” as he and his fellow comrades had called it once before the events of the Outbreak has occurred, she looked around the surrounding areas of the dig site before them and then finally, she had finally got into one room in the one of the bunkers: the room where he had cut out the brain, the brain of his old friend, Dr. Maxis, and the very place where he met Nikolai, Dempsey and Takeo; his Nikolai, Dempsey and Takeo.
The rumble is in fact, where the table stood once with the body of his old friend, Dr. Ludwig Maxis, was laying motionless before the robot stombs upon the bunker where they were and the rumble buried the corpse after all four of them managed to jump out of the way.
Alice seemed to be curious about the rumble as she kneeled down to look at the rumble. Edward, now looking back on all of this, felt bad for what he did to his friend but he was going to turn.
He frowned as he looked at the floor with his brows going upward with dejection, as he pondered for a moment about what he had done but he blamed it on the element that had made things go awry in the first place.
A groan was heard from outside, he and Alice looked at the hole of the bunker and saw the WWI zombies stumbling, coming out of the ground and crawling towards the bunker with familiar purple, cyan and reddish colors crystals popping out of their flesh and skin that was trying to hold it in altogether.
Their eyes once idle of glowing one color were trying to decide which color to go by, turning from red, purple, blue and yellow with each second as their jaws were snapping open and shut with which threatening growl.
Their mouths are foaming with a strange whitish purple liquid, a strange symptom of the rabies as their eyes are trained on them, looking to eat and devour anything in their path as corruption is spreading slowly yet surely to anywhere.
P!Richtofen looked at them with alarmed looks on his face but he jumped when he felt his Vorpal Blade shook in his sheath, he looked and saw the knife lifted upon in front of his face as he exclaimed in shock and then threw itself towards Alice, bowie knife style.
The girl, who seemed to know the blade’s presence, had her hand upward and if right now on cue; she grabbed the Vorpal Blade by the handle. She took the time to look at the blade, granting her two fingers on the beautiful bloodied mirrored metal and gracing the edge of it with ease.
“If there’s a mind this much lost in madness,” she spoke her thought through her mouth, Alice looked at the incoming horde, “Or, someone that is truly the same as me.”
Edward seemed confused by what she had said but it had some relation to himself and… his original self when he found a little meaning of the poem.
She then ran forward as the Doctor held his hand up and yelled “Vait-!” but he was splashed in a familiar yellow light and a sound from above him. He looked up and said “Oh nein… not again.”
Giant robot Thor was looking down at the hole in the ceiling as Richtofen was looking right back up at it, it was still breathtaking as he remembered it to be.
As he expected it to do, it lifted it’s leg upward as survival instincts kicked into overdrive and he jumped back into where he came in before the foot stomped into the bunker. Debris flew from the entrance and blocked it off as Edward shielded himself from the stomp. When he recovered from the sudden attack and looked at the entrance, the words he muttered out were “No… No….!” as he got up on his feet and heels stepping on the concrete as he tried to pull out one of the broken concrete rocks out of terror and desperation.
“Nein!”
“No!!”
“NO NO NO NO!!!”
He screamed in anger and frustration as he felt blood being swept from his palms under the gloves while he slammed them onto the blockade in difficulty before he slowly stopped as he fought back the urge to scream in defeat. He slowly slid to the floor with his forehead on the debris that refused to give way.
Panting with hitched choking from the sore throat as he had dropped to his knees, forehead on the blockade and blood-soaked gloved hands on its rocks still and as much he doesn’t want to admit to anyone as he swore to himself but his eyes are watering as he refused to let them out.
“Burrow time for such distress, sorrow with each oppress?” a familiar voice had cooed out, anger had boiled in his guts as his eyes snapped open, the feeling to kill was what he knew deep down.
“So much anger to compress then?”
He had no idea how he managed to move so quickly to try to kill the Cheshire Cat, tears were blood red as rage was all he felt in the moment. “You should shut your mouth! Before I cut your tongue out!” he roared as his skin was sticky pale once again, his face contorted into an expression of anger.
Like clockwork, the cat disappeared into thin air with the enraged Doctor hitting the ground with a thud. He then stood up and his eyes were blood red to look at the Cheshire Cat once again with hatred.
Tumblr media
(Digitally drawn by Icefir]
“Temper, temper now, Doctor, there’s no need for such dismember.” he rhymed again, enraging again the fury within. Richtofen yelled “Shut up!! Do you know vhat I had tried!?” as he was about to run towards but he stopped… he then violently shook his head as the normal skin color returned and blood tears stopped coming from his eyes when he snapped them shut. He was panting when he opened his eyes that went back to normal as they were while he was trying to rationalize what he had been doing earlier.
Cheshire Cat took light cautious steps towards him, then sat down with the same grin on his face and spoke “Render such anger you had been bottling up on the inside, tender with such hatred that tightening up the strings that grasped your heart. Truly, something that you do not want to become more than you realized.”
“Vhat is happening to me?” he muttered under his breath as he looked at the damaged gloves with wounds on the palms of his hands, wounds and cuts on them are different on each one out of two hands from his attempts to remove the debris blocking the entrance.
“Plain as things were happening around you, through the pain and such a main act to her what can be a plan.”
“Her plan?” he breathlessly muttered after a long pause, Cheshire Cat then looked at him as he could read his mind. “And no, not the little girl you know back with Maxis, but another woman who’s soul had changed and corrupted with power much more than what is to others' imagination, even yours.”
“Vho vas she?”
“The very being who controls everything, once a mortal human, flesh and blood, longing for such a fresh start to begin what was a gloved new beginning but may such as things like the plans for the future being led by a stray.”
“Enough vith zhe rhymes already,” he growled, “Just tell me vho already?”
“For me, and for Alice, poems may be mysterious as it seems, such as they can be unspoken but for now, she can be referred to as The Broken.”
“The Broken?”
“The Broken indeed, whose emotions are quite shaken and hatred she had been used as a token to a game that is so swollen that her soul was exploded as a bomb, no pun intended.”
“None taken,” P!Richtofen said softly as he now looked at the Cheshire Cat, “But vhy..? Vhy us?” he choked out, “None of us had done anything wrong to her? Vhy do we deserve zhis? Vhy does Alice had to-?”
“This is before the barricade was tampered with,” Cheshire interrupted Edward, “Time before you came into her wonderland for the first time in years after such standard tragic events unfold before your eyes. As for questions we have at the moment, shall remain unanswered for the time being.”
“I…” he spoke softly as he smelled smoke and looked at his hands, steam rose as his palms were beginning and completing healing as well with his gloves that seemed to have repaired themselves. “I understand, ve can figure zhis out later on but first, ve must deal vith vhat had been happening first: Survive zhe next two days.”
“Good,” Cheshire Cat said, “then I must depart now as you must understand, I had to go to Alice’s side as you are smart enough on your own. Apart from being unarmed, a weapon that is new yet familiar will come to you then you will stand guard from a safe distance.”
That’s what Cheshire had said before he vanished into nothing before Primis Richtofen would ask him what he meant by that. He stood where he was for a few moments in dubiety and hesitated as the cold air swept in the bunker as he had held his arms and looked around with thoughts formed.
“The Broken, hm?” he said as he looked at the blocked entrance one more time, with his head shook at this thought a little moment longer, “Zhis entity had a name now, und it’s all zhat matters right now.”
He looked around the area, since the Vorpal Blade had been taken by Alice and he was in the bunker where the whole journey began in the first place so he could find what he could salvage. Afterall, he is in his mind and in his mind, as he could theorize it, he can find a new weapon in memories since they resided in the brain.
He could use this to his advantage, he thought, so he began to walk around the area so he could jog his memory of his time in Northern France during World War I. He entered the starting area where the first generator should be and he was confused to see that it was replaced with a stone stature of a man he hardly recognized.
A statue of a knight who was Cascadian man with a beard that seem to be spiked on the sides to the rest of his face and he was appeared to be holding his hands out with a magenta aura surrounding a familiar wonder weapon as it floats suspended above the stone statue's hands.
The Doctor was hesitant to walk over to it but he was cautious to approach it with care, he took a closer look at the Wonder Weapon in its hands and noticed the color: Red, a red futuristic pistol with a meter of red to yellow then to green, the blast-o-manic. The Ray Gun was what he can remember, he lightly smiled at this as he had recalled something from this… Situation in the excavation site after all.
He was slow to reach for it, worried what will happened if he did this too fast but when he made contact with the aura, it presented a vision:
“Maxcine! No!”
He wrenched his hand back from the aura as he was disturbed to present a vision by it with a voice yelling in his head, Maxcine? Who was that? But he had to get that ray gun from the statue so he tried again as he reassured himself he could dwell on it later and this time, he was prepared to get the ray gun and thankfully, it was only one vision and nothing happened when he grabbed it and pulled it away from the statue.
He inspects the ray gun closely as he realizes something about this is different from the one he knows and made; it had similar markings to the Vorpal Knife he had before it had gone to Alice, the glowing barrel was blue, similar to the element he knows.
Rest of it was normal to his eyes, he then checks the ammo from the said Ray Gun, the battery comes out and sees the battery had the Cheshire’s smile on it, confused but learned this could be Alice’s mental realm was mixing with his own so he had to go with what it is.
*You have gotten the Wonder Ray Gun!
*The weapon you had made from a dream.
*Well… Now you are living that dream,
*In your mind.
He heard the screeching of the dead that formed from his memories, as he sighed “Back to vhere it began… in mein mind.” as he looked at the generator once more, “I have to get zhe generators vorking once more, zhey vill attack soon.” with a bit of hope he had left, he pulled the switch and the conversion began as Maxis’s recorded voice spoke
“Starting the conversion generator!”
Corrupted Zombie templars came out from the beams of light, he pointed the Ray Gun at them as they were coming closer, familiar to the patterns of the undead and then fired.
-Later on-
A blast of blue light flashed and another corrupted zombie templar fell down from where it stood as the last conversation generator had completed, Edward wiped the sweat from his brow from the mental survival in his mind.
“Zhis is just as hard as I remembered.” he sighed the thought out from his head. He looked around the area and noticed a door in the middle of the mud, he had to forced walk over to the door through the mud and he managed to get to the door when he’s near enough, he never liked the mud and he still doesn’t like it now like this as he growled in annoyance and accomplishment. “I still can’t move in zhe mud!” he complained, “I can endure zhings but even in zhis mental realm of mine?!”
He looked at the door and thought for a moment, this door had appeared out of nowhere and this is not what he had made, it looked like a brown metal door in the middle of nowhere, with no handle and it looked like something that could be in a city park.
With hesitation, he pushed the door open and on the other side of the door was a local park much to his surprise, no corpses, no trenches, no blood and gore. Nothing but it is mostly cloudy and bits of sun was peeking through before it was shaded by said clouds. Still, it’s a perfect day to be in a park if you live near one.
Just a normal park with a playground and swing set, he heard the door closed behind him and he looked at the wooden sign post with the letters had flipped sideward that read “Windsor Park.”
He spotted someone, a young woman, swinging on one of the swings with a set of headphones. The music was loud enough to make someone deaf as she was smiling. She did a reckless thing by tipping her head downward as she swung downward but she tipped it back up when she went upward as she was going fast.
He wondered why she was doing that since he can see what she is doing is dangerous as the young woman seemed to be having fun but if he was in her shoes, it must’ve felt alive.
She looked up from whatever world she is living in with music blasting all out of from the small devise and seemed to noticed something from a far and then soon out of the blue, she dropped her legs and her boots skids on the ground that was sprinkled all over by shards of wood chips in the playground and most of them had flew in behind her when they made contact and more in front of her like a swinging asteroid that can’t decide which way to land so it made dirt flew in two directions.
She came to a stop finally and paused her loud music as she pulled off her aviator hat to pull her headphones down to her neck before putting the hat back on. The hat is somewhat like Nikolai’s but different when he looks at it closer.
From the south side of the park was another woman that’s a bit older, messy blonde hair that is cut above her shoulders, an old red sweater and jean overalls as the young woman was wearing a red sweater herself but it had stripes, a army green pants and boots with belts on them when she ran towards her.
“Hey! Where is your invention?” she asked first when she got close to her, the lady seemed upset as she didn't seem to notice. “Did you finally sell it on the seventh day today?”
“Yeah I-” she seemed to say but stopped herself, “No, I didn’t, sadly. I didn’t get any money.”
“What do you mean by that?” she asked, sad and disappointed, “Izzy, what happened to it?”
“I had to ditch it,” Izzy had confused, “As it turns out, it was way ahead of it’s time I guess.”
“Hey, uh… At least you gave it a shot.” Young Woman sighed with little effort to emphasize the defeated Izzy. “It’s nothing, my mom was right about me being a failure.” she started to speak her mind until she noticed the lone swing now gently swinging from its use.
“Let me guess, you’re living in your own little world?”
“Yep!” she answered happily with a smile, her hazel green eyes glittered and she spoke more “I was imagining myself being with a group of four men, going through dimensions from their 1910’s and saving the universe.”
Izzy laughed at the ridiculousness of her friend’s la-la-la dreamland and patted her back, “I wish I was like you so I could live in my own wonderland 24-7. But this is real life, Meaghan, we all have to live in it too, ya know.”
“I know.” Meaghan said as if she didn't want to believe it from Izzy’s mouth, “Hey, can we go over to your house?”
“Again why- Oh.” Izzy realized, “Is your mom and stepfather fighting again?”
“Yeah, each time, it gets worse verbally.”
“I can tell but thankfully, my dad is too mellow-to-a-fellow person to make arguments.” Izzy said as she patted Meaghan on the back with her eyes closed and a smile. They then began to walk towards the other side of the park on the east park with their hands holding on.
As Primis Richtofen watched them go, a fog, an unnatural black fog rolled in as he looked around the area. Happiness and calm were erased from the scenes and only darkness, fear, hatred and bloodlust remained in their places as he shuddered.
He walked backwards when he felt the back of his head hit something, something sharp and wet. He turned to see a rusted hook but it looked like it had been sharpened regularly despite it being a rusted-reddish-brown texture.
He raised his gloved hand to touch it and when it had contacted the hanging object, it was iron with rust, as he got the disturbing feel from it. He contracted his hand back from it with disgust. He then looked around as he realized that he was in a forest that appeared to be dead for a while now but signs of living trees are scattered here and there far as the eye can see.
As he managed to see more yet fewer hooks and the car engine that seemed to be working right but it was on a device that it was sitting on. It appears to be a generator that needs to be fixed as the light it was hooked up to is flickering.
He must have been distracted for a moment when he jumped out of his own skin by the yell of pain, he turned in shock and saw a young Irish man clenching his side as it was bleeding crimson but he was fastly limping from whatever injured him. He then stopped for a moment to look behind him, a woman with orange hair that was tied in two braided pigtails was running but a hatchet flew out of the fog and hit her perfectly on her back and that caused her to fall down.
“Meg!” he yelled out for her but Meg yelled back “Just keep going, David! I’ll be fine!”
David, with no thoughts, continued limping faster as he heard singing of a woman had started and whoever had stroke Meg with a hatchet had picked her up while he pulled what appeared to be a pallet downward to where he came from, forming an observable for what… or who it was to deal with before he continued on.
Then, a loud scream of Meg ringed through the air as David knew he had to run faster across the forested area as he was reaching closer to a ruined and broken house as its window was wide opened. He hopped into it and then slid down the wall as he still held his wound while Richtofen watched.
“Christ…” he muttered under his breath, “Gonna ‘ave a pint right abooeht now.” as he looked at the injury and then heighed in pained moan. “damn, if dings can't get any wahrse what she 'ave.”
Primis Richtofen looked at the young man further as he had a noticeable scar on the left eyebrow and his hair had shaved to a crown like his and his clothes were a jacket, a dirty white dress shirt, a watch, jeans and shoes that were caked in mud from running limb.
He noticed a hand appeared and touched David’s shoulder that made him flinched in adrenaline as he groaned “Jesus-!!” but relaxed a little when he saw a rich-looking blonde man who, in what Richtofen can make out, a German based on his nationality and his clothes is what the rich people could afford but he doesn’t seem to care that his clothes were dirty or bloody as he all he cared about is David’s condition.
“Bloody hell, Felix….” the Irish man muttered as he looked at him, Felix, who held a med kit while he held a finger over his mouth and shook his head slowly. David seemed to get what the message meant: Stay quiet, no matter how much you wanted to groan in pain out loud.
He nodded as he removed his arm from the wound; a sharp gash that was bleeding profusely as Felix softly cursed to himself when he looked at the injury David had as he looked at it.
“You always get into fights, David King.” Felix said his full name as he placed the alcohol on a rag after opening the kit and then gently placed his wound to which David grunt in pain through his teeth and eyes shut tight as P!Richtofen seemed confused about what was going on with the situation they were in. have they put themselves in danger of whoever their mystery killer is and out for their blood as they are struggling to survive.
Felix seemed too focused on his injury when David King just looked over his shoulder and yelled “Watch out-!!” and like that, an ax had borrowed into Felix’s shoulder as the singing returned. Panicked understandingly, David got up and then ran, leaving Felix to be lifted up by a… figure.
P!Richtofen could watch helplessly as Felix had tried to frail and thrash about to escape as a man- Woman, woman clad in a hare’s mask and a black cloak sewn to it carried Felix towards one of the hooks with a looming dread. With full force, she had hooked Felix, the pointed end entered through the back and out of the other side of his uninjured right shoulder on the front.
Felix lets out an agonizing scream through the air as the rabbit-masked lady walked away and heading towards P!Richtofen’s position, leaving him to die as Richtofen flinched and had gotten the Wonder Ray Gun out, ready to defend himself but he was shocked yet relieved when she walked through him and went after someone else: David King.
David was limping faster as he saw another pallet ahead of him, small hatchets were flying through the air and mostly missed David as he made it and slammed the pallet down as he fell down and watched the killer rabbit lady stop in her tracks at once after it fell in front of her.
He was scattering on the ground for a moment before giving her the finger as he gained foot on the floor and then continued limping with Richtofen running to catch up the pair. He had noticed that the rabbit lady had looked at the pallet then, wearing no boots and only bandages covering her bare, dirty and cut feet, proceeded to kick down the wall and then succeeded in doing so.
She continues on with her humming a lullaby and a chuckle.
Баю-баюшки баю
Не ложися на краю
Придёт серенький волчок
И укусит за бочок
The lullaby she is singing is in Russian so there’s no doubt she is one like Nikolai, she seemed to enjoy the hunt, the fear coming out of David, the bloodlust and the thrill of the prey running away but when he looked into her eyes: they are almost pitch black, no color but light in them, perfectly blending in the rabbit mask to give such an adorable yet terrifying appearance.
“Almost dere...!” he muttered as he reached the other side of the forest, that side was a gate with three light bulbs glowing green and it was opened. David King was nearly there with the hope of getting out of here alive when he felt a hatchet dig into his back, making him fall down and hit the ground with a scream.
P!Richtofen stood there in bombard bewilderment when the Huntress walked over to the crawling Irish man like it was a causal day, blood was pooling from the doomed man as he tries crawling towards the gate when a foot had forcibly pinned him on the injured side of his hip, yearning a yelp in agony from David.
He was left trying to get her foot off of his hip to escape as the Huntress chuckled at the futile attempt David was trying to do, P!Richtofen wanted to help and stop her so the survivor could escape but he can’t physically even punch this psychopath so all he could do helplessly is watch what she is going to do next.
The Huntress then again stamped onto the wound with force, David yelled with his eyes shut tight from the pain shooting through his body. As Richtofen watched on, she then straddled the man before her and then got out a carving knife, a knife used to skin the hunting game for food and made sure that David King was looking at the glamor of light coming from it.
He tried to struggle again but he was punched in the abdomen, forcing him still in suffering and then he felt the knife cutting through the injury that Felix had tried to patch up and he screamed unlike anything he had ever done before. The Huntress has cut off a piece of flesh from David and then placed the chunk of human meat onto a sack with her bloody hands, tied it up and then hangs it onto her WWI utility belt then she finally got up from David and then stood there to watch.
With little strength he had left, he weakly crawled towards the gate with the blood gushing out of the wound as sand and dirt had gotten onto it as crimson liquid had trailed from it, painting the ground. The Huntress only stood there to watch David crawl into the gate as it was closing, letting him escape with his life as Richtofen felt like, without a doubt, that David is going to live with the images of what she did to him for a little while.
Then, he heard what sounded like a bell rung out of nowhere with The Huntress looking up from her handy work, with no more hesitation, she began to walk and then enter the fog as she is blissfully unaware that the Doctor is following her.
The forest was the same but overtime shortly, it began to change slowly in the fog as she and Richtofen were walking into it. The lining of trees are fading away, must’ve been the thickness of the fog itself or that they had actually disappeared when it consumed them.
The area taking its place was a field and right now, they are running through it in a yellow-gray cloudy nighttime sky with the ax and ray gun in their hands. Where are they going? Who is this killer? Where was this memory doing in his mind.
Questions are forming, Edward was too confused about all of this but then she began to slow down when she reached an old western setting, a ghost town within seemingly abandoned or so he thought. She then walked through the town with Edward behind her as he eventually stopped when he heard something animalistic and squishy.
He turned to see a person, devouring a corpse of a man as blood was gushing and squirting out blood when he….. No, no man can have the hind legs of a dog?
He walked towards it nervously and then he reached his hand out to touch it but whatever this “man” was somehow sensed his presence or just felt like it was being approached, “man” turned and revealed itself to Edward with a roar. This creature didn’t have a face but a face of its own, a flower-like mouth that bloomed as one and its teeth were needles as it screeched at Richtofen as he stood paralyzed in fear.
Blood was poured from its mouth when it had opened it to roar at him, this creature was something straight out of a nightmare and he can’t decide that this creature is what the Corrupted Keeper will eventually look like or it’s an apothicon that evolved too much.
Thankfully for him, it lasted a moment before the “Apothicon” closed its mouth and then it ran off into the different direction, leaving its meal and himself there.
He got to the full inspection of the corpse it had been eating, it was filled with tiny holes, the gashes and open wounds were caused by its teeth digging into it without a doubt. The claw marks and scratches were on the corpse as well, properly the creature had made whoever weaker in order for it to enjoy eating it’s victim alive.
Being eaten alive by a zombie was the terrible way to go but being eaten by this flower-mouth creature alive must have been a horrific way to leave this world for good. He doesn’t want to die like this, he hates to imagine.
He shook his head away from the thought of it.
He then looked and realized that he had lost her when he was looking at the “Apothicon” with inspection, he was amazed that he was distracted by the creature that he had lost track of.
“Vhere did she go?” he muttered under his breath as he wandered around the area, as he did, he had noticed that he is not the only one here besides the Huntress and the monster; there were other people and most of them had the “not welcoming” feelings coming off of them.
One of them is an Asian man, a Koren man that seemed young and had ominous yellow eyes as he did wore a shirt but he does seem to wear a yellow trench coat with white diamonds on the side, magenta/purple pants with lines going down to the punk-style boots as he played around a set of neon glowing throwing knives.
The other appeared to be a corpse but it was shambling to walk with eye sockets empty and only dark gaping holes in them and sharp teeth as clothes that were once clothing used to cover its form. Limping across the town with one deformed claw for a hand as it made odd glittering/gurgling sounds.
Another was a man with scars and hooks in him, wearing a mask made from bone and an overalls and boots wielding a cleaver as it appeared as he looked around.
The other one is normal-looking except with a latex mask with fake brown and a blue jumpsuit, holding a kitchen knife as he stood in the fog as the Shape.
While walking, he noticed a gang of four people, wearing different masks as one of them, one that with a burning skull tattoo on his neck seemed to notice him but looked away. The Legion as they called themselves when he heard them talking.
He looked over to them and then was going to continue when he was in front of an old western man, an Irish descendant with a black hat, a trench coat and his eyes are in fact white and black. The scar on the side of his face is where you can see teeth and gums from the hole, the scar itself was a wound that’s been left untreated and infected.
His hair is ghostly white as if he had aged but his soul had refused
“Caleb-san!” a voice echoed from the fog, getting the seemingly dead man’s attention as his pale skin was shined by the dim lantern’s light. A girl was in the saloon called “Dead Dawg Saloon” as he began to walk towards it, he grunted in pain as he lifted the end of his coat to reveal a brace on his right leg.
Yet, he endured it as he walked down towards the saloon itself, closer look, the girl is an Asian yet her skin is ghostly blue and she wore nothing but bandages to cover her and she appeared to be dismembered, her arm and leg are in pieces but fully function as they float like nothing is wrong.
Her black raven hair was floating upwards but there was no wind around the town and it was bleezing around. He limped over to the ghostly figure and asked in an westen, raspy voice.
“What is it, Rin?”
“Have you heard what has been going on?” she answered, her eyes are completely white with no color nor pupils.
“About those things?”
“Hai.”
“I guess it has reached here too, I mostly thought it was the Demogordon.”
“Or Pyramid Head.” Rin had continued, regarding the creature as P!Richtofen listened in, “Something strange is happening in the Fog. More stranger than usual.”
“If that’s the case, if it’s another Killer or survivor; the Entity would’ve let us know by now.” he emphasized as he readjusts his hand on his head.
“Caleb-san, it seems too quiet now.” Rin relented on the fact of the looming fate of what is happening, “It just felt eerie and dire.”
Caleb looked at Rin and she did seem concerned, he then looked around the area and then back to her. “Care to explain what had been going on?”
“Something is lurking in the Fog, something macabre and ill-omened.”
“Isn’t it always macabre and ill-omened here?” he teased.
“I know but something about it was different, grim and unholy has entered here and I can’t help but feel that this is only the beginning.”
“Is that so?” Caleb mumbled with interest and somewhat afraid, “Then in that case, we should keep an eye out on this.”
“It is good advise, do you think we would let the survivors-”
“Let them figure it out on their own, most of them had always known for their knack of finding out more than us.”
“Do you think it could be another killer but-”
“Something that can be worse than us.” he said as he placed a hand on her shoulder, “Who knows what this thing or person could be.” he finished as he walked into the saloon with Rin watching him go in.
“Where are you going?”
“Gettin’ a drink.”
P!Richtofen stood there for a moment as he watched Caleb go in as Rin then vanished into a dark smoke in the air with a humph. “Somezhing dark hmmm….” he muttered as he laid his index finger under his chin as he wondered.
“So it’s going deeper…” then he heard a familiar voice humming the lullaby as it reached his ears, making him turn away from the saloon and saw the Huntress at the barrel, looking through it.
She then pulled out a jar and she had noticed there’s something inside it; a dark crystal. She was confused by what Richtofen could see. Even with the rabbit mask made from paper-mache, she is confused by what she is seeing. Wanting to know more later, she places the jar onto the nearest table and leaves to continue searching the barrel.
The Koren man, The Trickster, had walked around and saw the jar on the table. He looked at the jar on the table and then to the Huntress who was distracted.
P!Richtofen can see the cogs in his head as he smiles as he can sense the level of mischievous coming out of the man judging by his unnatural yellow eyes. The curiosity consumed the doctor as he wondered what he was about to do.

With one gentle nudge, he accidentally tipped the jar over and it fell over. Upon impact it shattered on the ground, getting the Huntress’ attention and she turned in shock of what happened.
“Черт возьми, здесь случилось?!” She demanded in shock and anger, Trickster was standing at the table, looking very innocent as the Huntress was agitated but suspicious of him right away just by the way he looked.
In broken English as Edward believed that she had learned poorly, she said “Ji-woon Hak, what have you done to jar?” as she stared an angered glare at his direction while she walked up to him while Richtofen could see the height difference between the Huntress and Ji-woon.
She is a foot taller than the Trickster as he is a little shorter than herself, she must’ve been working out as Ji-woon was a bit taken back from this. “It was nothing, Anna, it must’ve been windy here.” Ji-woon had defended himself, as she somehow saw through his lie with a snarl.
“No wind here is strong enough to knock over objects.” She pointed out the lie to the Trickster, readying her ax as Ji-woon was taken a few steps back from her and said “It was a little tomfoolery. How did you teach that?”
“Huntress’ mother, she taught Anna better than other hunters within the forest.” she muttered as she raised the ax as Ji-woon had readied himself with a bat of his own; a bat was modified as it had equipped with a blade and brass knuckles attached to it.
P!Richtofen was taken back from the sudden standance to attack, eye for an eye as the ax was thrown over her head and-!!
Thunk
It had made contact with a wooden rotten stick on the Trickster’s side that was holding up the one of the old west buildings, chopping it into pieces in one swing and splitters were launched onto the Trickster’s side shoulder with him shielding himself from it.
Huntress had the large ax onto her shoulder as she breathed for a moment as she looked at Ji-woon, still giving him a cold stare and then muttered something under her breath as Ji-woon rested his bat on his shoulder as he spoke.
“Do you lose your footing, Anna?”
“Nyet…” she muttered, “Huntress just wanted to scare Trickster, if different…” she looked at him with the bloodthirsty look, “Huntress will happily skin you alive if Entity allows it.”
Ji-woon simply smiled and patted her shoulder where the ax was not resting and said “That will come one day, we will enjoy tearing each other apart to please it but we will settle with our fans for now.”
With a grunt, she backed away from Ji-woon with a scowl on her face as he winked and then dusted himself off. He winked and then walked away from the scene with the Huntress shook her head.
Entity, Survivors, the Killers, the hooks.
Thoughts on this swimmed in Edward’s head from what he had overhead, could this Broken be the Entity they are referred to? Were they forced into a trial they talked about?
Anna sighed as she let the ax fall from her shoulder as she watched him fade away into the unholy fog with chagrin as eventually she couldn't see him any longer and no sign of his form within it.
She turned to the broken jar on the floor and she was a little taken aback by the sight as P!Richtofen too was surprised; the pieces of the jar are there and accounted for but one thing is missing that was in the jar itself, the black-colored crystal.
She walked over to the pieces and then kneeled down to them to inspect the jar, as she looked at the glass shards and the cork on the ground, about to pick one of them up when a voice, a woman’s, spoke “Don’t pick one up, you’ll be cut.”
Primis Richtofen had never seen someone other than his Takeo get up from the ground quickly to confront the voice behind her and then stopped when she saw it was a figure. A dark figure with red glowing cracks that were attached to a red spot on it’s chest, it had four fingers as the forth one acted as a thumb and three toes. The two quails on the back of it’s head as it’s red prying eyes are looking at the killer with intent.
She was getting ready to attack when it spoke again “Hello,” and it made her stop in shock to let it continue talking. “My little Anna.”

“Momma?” she spoke, a little bit of her part was refusing to believe what she was hearing from this illusion. P!Richtofen had gotten a bad feeling from what this creature was doing or what it was planning to do.
“You have been hunting?”
The Huntress that was a bloodthirsty monster had turned a child too shy to speak but nodded. The dark being loomed over her and held her hand with soft red eyes. “Very good, very good for you.” it spoke to but then shook its head that made her head tilt to the right in confusion.
“Sad to see that I am not alive to hold you close. Do you like that so badly, Anna?”
“Da, da very much love to hug you once again.” she pleaded as the Doctor was getting an eerie feeling that something dreadful is making its place in the fog, an ill-omened unearthly event.
“Well, you will have to agree with your mother on this condition; it may hurt but you will feel much better than ever and in that way, you will be able to hunt better.”
“What does Anna do to be better?” She asked, curious of the unfamiliar lesson from her “mother” as it claims itself to be. “Something that keeps your body going, yet, I like to take over for a little while and I will let you get back control afterwards, do you agree?”
“Of course-” she agreed but stopped when she felt something being… pulled from her body. P!Richtofen had watched it go down from where he had stood in shock as Anna’s very soul was pulled out of her body with a grunt and tears, neither dark nor normal, had flowed down her cheeks.

From her chest as it floated over to the “mother’s” claw, a soul had a certain edition to it; a red dot with a circle surrounding it. A few pieces of the creature cracked from it;s body and then they covered it and formed a shape of a crystal with the soul trapped inside of it; a sapphire that’s symbolized like a crescent moon with a color of blood red.
What happened next with a blur, her rabbit mask was given a traditional edition to it with the same gem with her soul inside of it and soon she had begun to change, her mask was a sickly gray red or pink colored with two dark gray stripes for each eye hole, then a navy blue hood with tan fur sewn onto it’s ends as well with a navy blue coat that had coiled around the hood by it’s base of neck level going downward until it reached the bottom as stitches had mostly kept it together to support their purpose of maintaining it and a dirty blanket stained in dirt and blood was tied to her side and a skinned dog platted was tied to her side as well, looking lifeless with it’s mouth sewn shut.
She now wore gloves with belts on the left wrist and arm while the other two are on her right arm, sleeves on the end are torque green but dirty.
“Well, can you do what I want you to do, my little Anna?”
The Huntress had given a dark smile and said “Anything for you, momma…” as she was willing to serve this deity after it had changed her as if it had… possessed her in a way that a demon works as glowing red pupils had appeared in her eyes.

The sight he was seeing before him could not describe how it felt when it had gone up his spine; something deadly and corrupt, most foul and unnatural about this undesirable wish she had created.
If it’s about being able to see their family member after so long? Yes please but he does not want that wish that will turn him like this. Whatever the Huntress had encountered was something more than her mother; an impostor, a demon, a condemned.
“It’s time to hunt but in a different realm.”
As if on cue, she raised her hatchet as she turned to face the direction the Doctor is and then one swift move, she tossed it at him as he screamed.

The Transformers also got their own cartoon series in the 80s, featuring epic battles and catchphrases like "Yelling in robot voice is required by law!"   (Source: Deadline) Read the full article

young starker growing up together - maybe their first kiss?

young starker - a fumbly first kiss
~5.8k words
It all started in eighth grade. Tony Stark had always been the freaky genius kid. It didn’t take long for the school system to realize that the boy would do nothing but cause trouble anywhere but with people that were close to his mental abilities. At seven, it felt almost neglectful to throw him into the high school crowd – so Tony joined the ranks of eighth graders after a summer spent at space camp.
He didn’t realize the big deal until he walked into the front doors of the school – this one a little different than the private school he’d been in before. He immediately felt like a shrimp in the bunch and it was obvious that everyone else noticed it, too. The cosmic joke of the day is the top shelf locker – one he has to stand on his very tiptoes to reach. The slam of the damn thing was insanely satisfying, though he didn’t dump his backpack in there like he originally planned. Oh well – what was another thing to carry around? Maybe he could use it as protection when the inevitable bullying came his way.
With the paper schedule clutched between his fingers, Tony walked into his homeroom class – all eyes in the room trained on him. He’d been taught to keep his head held high – his intelligence wasn’t a burden – Tony looked around the room at all the people staring him and immediately noticed a kid that looked almost as small as he was. The boy was amongst the group staring at him – but the look didn’t say disdain, instead, it seemed like he’d finally run into someone that just might be his equal. The only seat was in the corner of the room, a spot that would make seeing the board hard and observing the interesting kid even harder. There wasn’t much time to dwell, though. They immediately started into Algebra II and Tony ducked his head down, completely absorbed in the numbers running through his head.
At lunch, Tony almost chickened out and spent the time spread out on one of the benches he passed on his way into the building earlier that day. The math homework was already done in his backpack, but there were plenty of chapters for him to look over. A thought had him stopping, however – those big doe eyes of the only person Tony saw the entire day that looked remotely close to his age intriguing him. Maybe the lunchroom would be a good place to spot him again.
Reluctantly, Tony steered himself towards where the majority of the classmates he recognized were heading. There wouldn’t be any room at any of the cool tables for Tony – he already knew that. People didn’t like to be outsmarted by someone so young, especially, he found, people that were uncertain of their own intelligence – like most teenagers he was surrounded by. Steeling himself to be the main topic of people’s stares once again, Tony walked into the lunchroom.
Spotting an empty table, Tony took himself to it. It was closer to the back – which meant it probably didn’t attract the people who wanted to be front and center. Maybe, just maybe, he’d picked where that boy sat. A peanut butter sandwich Tony packed himself joined the Sherlock Holmes novel on the table – the boy a master at fading into the background now that he knew how precious anonymity actually was. He was so good in fact, he jumped with surprise when the clatter of a lunch tray sounded next to him. Tony forced his glasses covered eyes up from the page – Watson’s latest quip on hold for a moment. Brown eyes widened when he recognized the messy curls and round nose from class that morning.
“You’re the only other young person like me I’ve ever seen here,” the boy said, his fingers already working on opening the chocolate milk carton all the way – the chicken nuggets on his plate immediately getting dropped in.
“I am?” Tony asked, his eyes pinching slightly at the corners, his tongue sticking out. “Did you just put chicken nuggets in chocolate milk?” Tony felt exasperated, his stomach and heart in a frenzy. The boy shrugged and shook the carton up.
“You are. I’m Peter Parker. They said it was weird that a seven-year-old was in eighth grade. So, when I saw you, I figured maybe it’s not so weird after all. And yes – it is chicken nuggets in milk. It’s delicious. You can’t knock it until you try it. Who are you, anyway? How’d you end up here?” Peter – the nameless boy from earlier now affectionately labeled Peter – said without pause, his focus split between the conversation and the chocolate milk-soaked nuggets. The boy spooned one out and placed it on the empty bag that used to house Tony’s sandwich.
Tony eyed the thing for a second before quickly taking a large bite. He figured it would be gross – but then the combined sweet and salty hit his taste buds and he grinned. “That is really good. Gross to look at, but tasty. I’m Tony Stark. I ended up here because I was bored in the school I used to go to. I was getting into too much trouble. I need more – stimulus or something. I guess a room full of teenagers is the perfect amount.” Tony shrugged and finished off the weird chicken nugget, his eyes on Peter.
He hadn’t met anyone so forward before, especially someone that was his own age. “Should we be friends?” Tony asked seriously, his shoulder bumping into the boy next to him. “I used to get beat up a lot at my old school. We could protect each other, or become a tag team.” Tony didn’t really understand the connection he was making in that moment – didn’t quite get that they were creating a lifelong and unbreakable bond. Neither boy did, how could they? How many lunchroom pacts actually manifested into literal lifetimes together?
The boy’s smile widened when Peter nodded his head and looked at him seriously. “Yes, we should. You’re totally right. Sherlock had Watson after all,” Peter replied, his fingers tapping on the cover of Tony’s book. He was smart and knew about Alfred Conan Doyle? He was sure, probably for the first time ever, he’d never met another person like this boy. Tony nodded and held his hand out between them – he remembered his father saying that a deal wasn’t done until there’d been a handshake.
It was satisfying to feel the slightly sticky hand in his own – Tony’s first official friend and fellow comrade. Strength was always greater in numbers – his father told him that, too. Although the man seemed to like to spend more time by himself than with others, Tony figured he had to be right – the instant amount of comfort having Peter agree to be his friend had to mean something.
They spent the rest of that lunch period sharing soggy chicken nuggets and talking about A Study in Scarlett. Tony devoured each of the stories and was making his way what felt like the hundredth time through the book. By then, no one around him wanted to hear him talk about it anymore. Peter did, though – and their conversations easily transitioned into playdates where they’d try to reenact some of the cases. Tony didn’t mind playing Watson, either – which seemed like something he thought he’d never do. When he read the books, he always thought he’d be Sherlock. Yet, when Pete led their investigations, it was just as fun to be the pretend brute force that kept the genius safe. He figured Peter looked better in the old-timey hat, anyway.
Those playdates easily became sleepovers. Late nights together were filled with way too much sugar and hours upon hours of video games – the two staying up so late most weekends that the emptiness of the house on Sundays for Tony was a relief. He got to sleep after Peter’s Aunt May came to pick him up – and then they’d start the cycle all over again. They were quickly getting lost in the magic of online gaming on the state-of-the-art systems Tony’s dad bought when he first heard about his son having a friend over.
The novel concept of online was quickly starting to catch on – and Peter and Tony were avid partakers of it. Most of the time, having a dad that owned a company that was constantly in the news and being talked about for this and that was a little exhausting – but the strength of the internet and the access to all the components of the games they were playing was a definite bonus. Especially when Peter smiled at him while they were playing. A strange feeling settled in the pit of Tony’s stomach every time that happened.
By the end of the year, Peter and Tony were inseparable. When Tony turned eight right before they went into high school together, he and Peter went to Disneyland with the Stark family. He hadn’t been into Disney movies much growing up – they weren’t really anything that interested him. Without explosions or cool cars or really awesome weapons, it was hard to keep Tony’s attention – but Buzz Lightyear in person was pretty hard to not be impressed by. Especially when he took a picture with him and Peter with their arms flexed like strong men – he and his best friend had both puffed up their chests and let out a guttural cry.
Their smiles stayed huge the rest of that day – the two of them playing the horse racing carnival game until they each won one of the little robot stuffed animals. Jeff and Charles (or more affectionately known as Chuck, Tony’s pal couldn’t be *that* stuffy), their newly won friends, rode the rest of the rides with them and when they were sleepily carried back to the hotel, they were nestled safely in the depths of Maria Starks big purse.
Tony kept the robot and a copy of the Buzz Lightyear picture by his bed at night, immediately putting them there when they got home. Any time he got a little scared or couldn’t sleep because there was too much in his head, he’d look over and remember the day they spent wrapped up in the joy of being in the middle of space with a hero – even a made up one.
The next few sleepovers they had after they got back were filled with as many Disney movies as they could get their hands on. Tony’s dad laughed when Tony requested the use of a VCR – but he granted it with ease and watched with a keen sense of interest as the two boys devoured all the classics – Snow White and Sleeping Beauty included. Their play time moved from strictly robots and war planes to include some of the aspects of the great movie plots they watched. Tony wouldn’t admit it, but he liked when Peter played Prince Charming – his friend was perfect for the part, and though Tony didn’t have Cinderella’s life, he never minded playing her. The soft kiss on the cheek Peter took to giving him when he eventually matched Tony’s Nike to his foot was always worth it.
School starting again didn’t feel nearly as daunting for Tony – this year, he’d be entering into it with a buddy by his side – a buddy that was taking all of the same classes as him, a buddy that would be a perfect lab partner and the best person to navigate the high school hallways with. The strange looks they both received when they walked in together were a little easier to handle when Tony could look over his shoulder and see Peter attempting to keep his head held high – maybe if they stuck together, they’d make it out alive.
Tony never felt intimidated outside of the school’s walls – out in the open, people could appreciate intelligence like Tony and Peter both had. After getting back from vacation, Tony’s dad even let them spend time in the Stark Industries labs where they helped a couple of the technicians finish a project they were working on. Those guys seemed to be really impressed by how quickly they worked through the problem – why couldn’t the rest of the world?
Either way, Tony felt more prepared this time around. Though he’d still be the youngest person in their class, the concreteness of Peter’s presence made him feel bigger and stronger than any of the people that might give either of them a hard time.
If Buzz Lightyear approved of them, did anyone else really matter?
----
Things started to change right around the end of high school. For most humans, entering into the adult world happened when a person was an actual adult – but for Tony and thankfully Peter, they were entering into the next step of the world before turning 13. The high school experience was much like the rest of school – pretty boring, quite the time suck, and a little on the terrible side. Tony didn’t spend a lot of time on the receiving end of things that were terrible – he learned early that using his fists was a good way to get people to back down.
Even if the guys were bigger than him, Tony found a way to make sure he was understood. No, most of the terrible stuff happened to Pete and although Tony could throw his fists around for himself, he’d been banned from doing it to protect his best friend. Getting into MIT was the dream and had been since they started high school all that time ago. They already threatened to take back Tony’s acceptance if he had anymore behavioral problems and Peter made it pretty clear that he’d be pretty pissed if he got himself kicked out of MIT before they even got there.
So, Tony did what he could without the use of his fists. Anytime Flash would corner Peter in the hall and start to call him ‘Penis Parker’, Tony swooped in and slipped his arm through Pete’s – the contact with the boy never failed to make him happy, either. “Peter, dear – I think we’re scheduled to blow something up. Shall we?” Tony would joke and Peter always pulled his hand in a little tighter against him. Taking off in the other direction always threw Flash right off. The older boy would taunt and tease until they were out of sight and then they’d take off running down the hall – both boys laughing, the adrenaline of outsmarting someone once again fueling their fire.
Tony’s actions never stopped Peter from getting picked on – he figured he’d have to fix the problem the old Tony Stark way for that to happen. But – Peter always smiled at him gratefully. If only that smile could cure all the things, Tony wouldn’t have to worry about Peter’s safety or how much he wanted Peter to let him take care of it for him. It’d be so easy. No matter how much he wanted to, though – Tony respected Peter. They’d been friends now for what practically felt like their whole lives, he owed him at least that.
One particular event later in their senior year hit the shuffle button on their relationship and fixed the course of where they were going in life together. Up until the mention of prom, Tony hadn’t really thought about feelings. Most kids his age were just stepping into the stage of development where hormones were running rampant – they were set up in a place where exploring those hormones was expected, if not encouraged. Being so young, Tony never paid any of the couples attention in the halls. Sometimes, he and Peter would go down the rows of lockers they knew people were making out against just to point and laugh (because they were pre-teens, after all.)
So, he’d never given much thought to why all of the people around him were always crazed out of their minds, desperate to get their hands on another human being. Until, of course – he saw Peter’s eyes light up across the table from him. For a while, that look gave him the weirdest feeling in the pit of his stomach and he didn’t really understand it. He complained to his mom about it a couple of times – she merely brushed it off as a stomachache and sent him on his way.
Looking over his shoulder to where Peter’s eyes were focused, he understood the feeling a little more. Two guys, the only out couple in their school, were wrapped up in a hug together – one of them, Steve Rogers, was holding a huge balloon and the cheesiest sign Tony figured he’d ever seen. The public prom proposal – a high school cliché. Yet, he felt himself smiling widely, too. Their embrace looked warm from where Tony sat, and their faces depicted so much happiness. That warm feeling in the pit of his stomach came back – his entire core on fire now, not just the middle of it.
Turning back towards Peter, he knocked his hand against the other’s. “They look good together, don’t they?” Tony posed the question casually – though he felt that heat in his insides start to clench, like the answer to this question would be the difference between a complete take over or a total system shut down. Peter’s smile made his toes curl in his shoes – what in the actual heck was happening? And the touch against his arm? He might’ve melted right then and there.
“Yeah, they do. Prom looks like it might be fun, too.”
Their eyes met then, and something clicked. Tony sucked in a breath like he’d been knocked on his ass and blinked quickly. “I think so, too.”
And that’s when Tony started to plan.
He still didn’t really understand what the heat he felt every time he looked at Peter meant. They’d been friends since eighth grade and spent most of the days since then together in some way, shape, or form. Getting to spend time with Peter made him happy and when they weren’t together, he anticipated the next time they were. He thought, because that’s what people always called them, that’s what being best friends felt like.
For some reason, though – he couldn’t get the thought of pulling Peter into a hug like Steve and Bucky’s out of his head. They’d given each other tons of hugs before – he’d been there when Peter broke his wrist and cried the entire walk home – Tony hugged him and kept him close the whole time. It didn’t make sense, but – there was a difference. Tony could feel it in his very bones and there weren’t many times his instincts weren’t right. The rotary tool on the front of their robot the previous year had won them the gold at National’s, after all.
Being confused didn’t stop Tony from plotting, though. He used the freedom of having parents that were never around to go through his dad’s lab and collect the necessary tools for his idea. He spent most of his study hall period putting together a rough drawing of the puzzle he was going to build – so the preliminary steps were easy. Over the years, Tony picked up many skills with the welding torch – the puzzle’s manufacturing wasn’t too complicated once he got the pieces put together. He ran into a hitch when one of the pieces wouldn’t open like the rest of them – but he quickly caught the issue in the math and fixed the problem.
The finished product sat before him a few hours after he sat down to put it together, the light from the daytime completely gone – he’d worked the whole day away. Sitting down for the first time in a while, Tony picked up the cube – his eyes roaming over it critically. His confidence in Peter’s intelligence made choosing something like this perfect and he couldn’t wait to see what the other made of it. Tony didn’t really know what this would mean for them, but he liked the way it felt.
It took him a couple of days to work up the courage to break into Peter’s locker and put the cube where he could find it. The first day, he over thought it and almost took the cube apart completely. The next day, he put it in his backpack – and never found an opportune time to actually take it out or do anything productive with it. The turning point came when his mom found him slumped over his porcelain bowl filled with cold Spaghetti-o’s. “Amore, what are you doing?” Maria said, the words startling Tony from his reverie.
He must’ve been sitting there much longer than he figured – his mother didn’t normally get home until well into the evening. The spoon in his hand clattered against the bowl as he turned, his brows creased. “How do you know if something is right, ma? There’s something I want to do, but I can’t decide if I should or not.” The words were out before he could take them back, his face immediately turning red with embarrassment. Did other kids have conversations like this with their mothers? Biting down on his lip, Tony grabbed the spoon again – the metal of it now completely covered in the orangey-red sauce.
“Does it feel right, bambino? If it does, that’s your first clue. You want to do it, so there’s another check off the list. Tony, the fact that you’re so worried about it probably says the most about how right it really is. Take a deep breath and really think. You’ll always do the right thing that way.” She leaned against the counter next to him while she spoke, her critical eyes watching him. For such a smart boy, there was still so much to learn.
Tony met her look for a second and then nodded – his hands pushing him away from the counter before his brain to mouth filter broke down once again. “Thanks, ma. I think that helps.” Before running away, he pressed a kiss to the side of her cheek. Of the two of his parents, Tony could see his mom try the most, so he let her in every now and again. He waited until he was far enough away from the kitchen not to be caught before he let a huge smile slip across his face. Her advice really was helpful after all.
The next day, Tony had Phil drop him off a few minutes earlier than usually. Luckily, Peter’s Aunt May was working the later shift and could take Peter to school – or else his plan would have been a little harder to execute. The need to break into Pete’s locker was moot, they’d been the sole guardian of each other’s lock combinations since they first walked down the Wal Mart aisles and picked them out. He spun the dial in the intricate pattern and let out a little noise of joy when it clicked open – the simple fact that Peter still trusted him was enough to make his decision feel a million times righter.
Placing the cube on the shelf right in Peter’s line of vision, Tony quickly shut it – if he looked at the thing for too long, he might reach back in and pull it out. As fast as the lock was opened, it was once again in place – waiting for Peter to open it himself and find the little prize inside. Sucking in a breath, Tony forced himself to turn and walk the other direction down the hall. He figured Peter would find him in the library like always when he got in for the day.
The door opened not even ten minutes later, and a flustered Peter Parker walked in. “I hate riding in with May, Tony. She’s always running late and makes me eat those super nasty bran muffins. Also, did you put this in my locker?” Peter asked breathlessly, the cube held tightly in his hand. He’d already started working on one of the four side panels – each would open to show the elaborate design he’d etched into the metal. Tony looked up and blinked behind his glasses – the slightly scattered look on his friend making that heat come back, this time with a vengeance.
It felt like a straight punch to the gut and he found himself smiling through it – the wild greatness of it something Tony wanted to get used to. “I told you that Phil and I were in the neighborhood. You know how much riding in with May means to her, though. She’s always complaining about how much she’s working and never getting to see you. And yes, yes, I did. You’ve got to solve all of the puzzles to get it open.” Tony’s smile stretched further, his words making a mischievous look flit through Peter’s eyes.
By lunch time, Tony was bouncing his leg nervously. He made each of the puzzles just hard enough to keep Peter on his toes – and he figured the other would be done with each by now. The small glimpses he could see of the boy across the room made his heart flutter a bit – Peter was hard at work on the second side, a tongue hanging out the edge of his mouth. Their last class right before lunch was the only one they didn’t have together – so Tony was feeling a little antsy. He even stood in the line to buy a gross school lunch to pass the time. They were serving chicken nuggets, though – so he couldn’t be too mad about it. Grabbing an extra chocolate milk for Pete, Tony made his way towards the table they’d been sitting at together for ages – their corner spot always left for them. No one wanted to sit with the weirdo geniuses, anyway. A smile slipped across his face when he looked up on his way over and saw Peter sitting in his normal spot, a Nutella and peanut butter sandwich already securely in his hand.
“Hey Petey,” Tony said in greeting. The other boy looked up at him and grinned, that same look of mischief on his face from before.
“Hey, Tones. You were pretty clever with that last one. I didn’t get that I needed to press up with the one I solved before to get the final piece to fit. Ms. Russo almost caught me.” Peter’s words were coming a mile a minute, his glasses moving down his nose every time he moved a hand while he spoke.
Without thought, Tony reached over and pushed them back up Pete’s nose. Whatever was on the boy’s tongue quickly faded away and they were suddenly staring right at each other.
There were a few seconds where they simply looked, Tony’s eyes were roaming all over Pete’s face – the boy desperate to understand what in the actual fuck was happening. Another heartbeat thumped against Tony’s chest, the pulse like the ticking of a clock. “Do you want to?” Tony finally spoke out, his eyes breaking away from Peter’s to glance down at the open cube – the panels each had a couple parts of ‘will you go to prom with me?’ on them, each with a different design he etched into the metal to make the whole thing a cohesive, kind of abstract piece of nerdy art.
Peter picked up the solve puzzle and ran his fingertips gently over it – the touch like one would place upon a small puppy or something that was fragile. That smile that sent warm trails of heat into his core lit up Peter’s face and then the boy was nodding – his cheeks a pink Tony only ever saw when they were in gym class or playing space aliens throughout the SI labs.
“Yeah, I do. I really do. People will probably think it’s weird that we’re there, but I couldn’t imagine going with anyone else. Do you think we could find suits like the ones in Dumb and Dumber?” Tony didn’t try to stop the snort of laughter that bubbled up from his chest – the thought of a powder blue top hat on Peter’s head making his heart ache with that warmth. How the hell could he say no to that?
“That’ll be the way to be remembered. I’m in. I bet we can get Maria to take us to the tailor. I bet Francisco would have a blast putting those together.”
And when they took pictures together in their powder blue and bright orange tuxedos, Tony couldn’t help but smile his biggest smile. Peter looked ridiculous and totally awesome – he’d let his hair grow a little bit, so it pressed down and curled under the brim of the hat. Together, they looked insane and completely perfect to represent who they’d been throughout their years in high school. The weird kids – the ones that were always together, the ones that no one understood and probably never would. His mom sent him a shot she took on her phone while they lounged in the back of the limo – the sight made him wrap an arm around Peter and shove the phone between them.
“Do we look good, or what?” Tony asked, his stomach filled to the brim with pressure and heat and the slightest bit of pain from laughing too much.  They were back to back, each with a cane in their hand. Their heads were turned towards each other – both boys smiling. Tony could see the brightness in his own eyes, his pupils blown wide from excitement. What surprised him, though, was the same brightness in Pete’s eyes. It was like maybe – well, maybe he wasn’t the only one constantly sitting with a pool of heat in his belly.
The rest of the night together went in typical Peter and Tony fashion. They fucked around with the canes and photo bombed a few too many pictures before settling down and grabbing some punch. Tony took the top hat from his head and wiped at his brow – the thing was cool, but so, so hot. His hair was matted down a little bit and for the first time in probably ever, he worried about whether Peter would mind. Shaking his head, Tony forced himself to focus and downed the punch the other boy handed him.
“Did you see how mad Natasha looked? I hope Clint will send me a copy of the end result of that,” Peter muttered, the noticeable shine in his eye still there, brighter than ever. Tony felt himself laugh; his cheeks irritated from being stuck in a smile for so long.
“I bet I can get them if he doesn’t. You know as well as I do that the school’s server isn’t very secure. I think we’re lucky we didn’t get our asses kicked, though. Bruce looked like he wanted to punch you in the face but also like he wanted to laugh his ass off.” They were leaned against each other, Peter’s random wandering leading them to the edge of the dance floor into their usual corner.
Of course, the second they started to relax, a slow song started to play. They’d abandoned hats and canes in the corner with their punch glasses and were stupidly dancing to all of the dumb pop songs. Tony couldn’t remember the last time he watched Peter move in any other way than gracefully. He didn’t talk about it much, but Tony knew Peter took dance lessons once a week. A Christmas tradition in the Stark household included watching Peter in The Nutcracker and eating hibachi afterwards to celebrate. Peter looked seamless when he moved, even the choppy way he was slinging his shoulders here and there looked good.
And that’s when it hit him – what the feeling he’d been troubling over actually meant. Peter looked good. He made Tony’s heart race. Tony always felt better in Peter’s presence. All of the sudden, he wanted to lean forward and press his lips against his best friend’s. Tony liked Peter. In the purest of ways, Tony wanted Peter. And, like the stupid person he was, Tony let that sudden realization run straight from his brain out into the open air between them. “I like you, Peter. I really, really like you,” Tony’s voice was a little loud to be heard over the music – but he felt like he shouted those words, like everyone now knew his secret.
Blushing, Tony brought a hand to his forehead and let his fingers run through the sweaty hair there. “I mean – I “ Tony tried to stumble into some sort of explanation, but it was unneeded.
Peter grabbed the wrist of the hand currently trying to pluck all the hairs out of the front of Tony’s head and held it tightly in his own. “I like you, too. You made me a puzzle. You asked me to prom. I figured it out, Tony. I wouldn’t have said yes if I didn’t like you, too. You’re my best friend – I’m not going to screw that up.”
Tony’s sweaty palm couldn’t have been comfortable to hold, but Peter didn’t let it go and after a minute or two – Tony nodded, his smile returning. “Want to dance with me, then? I’ll probably step on your toes, though.”
Peter didn’t answer, he simply pulled Tony’s hands to his waist. “This one is easy, you just kind of shuffle. And hold me close. Don’t forget to do that,” Peter mumbled, his own smaller arms reaching up to wrap around Tony’s neck. They probably looked ridiculous, the insanity of Dumb and Dumber, of young pre-teens in a crowd of soon to be adults – hell, their entire existence was a little ridiculous.
Before the song shifted, Tony leaned forward and let his forehead rest against Peter’s. For now, they were right around the same height – so Peter’s breath brushed against his nose. It smelt like fruit punch and chocolate, a combination of things that were distinctly Peter. The natural way they fell into their first kiss made them both jump back in surprise – Tony’s eyes were wide, and Peter looked comically taken aback. Watching Peter reach up and touch his lip was enough to make it real, though. “Wow,” he mumbled softly, eyes still firmly watching Peter and the many reactions manifesting themselves so prettily.
When they came out of the gym later hand-in-hand, May didn’t say a thing. Tony caught her smiling to herself in the mirror and felt that warmth in his core blossom a little bit. Maybe there was more to that feeling than he first thought.
