You know sometimes I wonder, “damn where did this random lust for robots come from?” And then I remember what I grew up watching

character idea: girl mecha pilot who gets dysphoria from being human and spends as much time neural-linked into the mech as possible because that body feels more like her than the flesh does.

mechs are expensive so maybe the only way she can possibly get regular access to one is to put herself in debt to a mercenary corps, running disposable missions until she can pay her junk-tier mech off.

sleeping in her mech to spend as little time out of it until she starts dreaming of static. wearing long sleeves to try and stop herself from picking at the squishy human flesh on her arms. it doesnt work.

maybe neural-links are dangerous for the feedback they provide to the pilot, with few risking to install them. maybe they dont usually provide sensation, but she disables the safety measures because its the only way she can feel alive.

A machine whose original purpose was to hate, kill. Something made for war that certainly shouldn’t know how to love. Yet they can’t help the way they get soft for this human, someone so small— practically half their size. Maybe it was their sheer determination, how charming that could be.

They’re forced to be hyperaware of their own strength, considering every little move before putting it into action. They never let their human lay beneath them, always guiding them to lay against their chest. It’s better that way, honestly. Not only for their own safety, but they can listen to the thrums of the machine’s system, take in the whirring of their fans. Like that they could easily relax.

And you can only imagine how warm it’d be, the machine nearly going into overdrive— between worrying, and simply being flustered— from feeling so much. Yet it’s beyond comforting, they could lay like that for hours.

Bonus if they’re laid in a server room, the machine plugged up to various cords while charging. They get tangled together, having been too invested in eachother to watch where everything was going.
