                   it  had  been  a  long  day  with  back  to  back  classes  from  noon  until  eight  pm  and  robert  had  been  at  the  university  since  eight  am,  preparing  lectures  and  grading  papers.  when  he  finally  stepped  into  the  small  apartment  he  shared  with  his  three  year  old  daughter,  the  man  sighed  while  dumping  all  of  his  stuff  on  a  table  by  the  door,  easing  it  shut  behind  him.  robert  looked  around  the  cozy  place,  smiling  at  the  job  he’d  done  to  make  the  place  feel  like  a  home,  before  his  eyes  wandered  to  the  picture  on  the  wall  of  him  holding  his  then  two  day  old  daughter.  a  warm  and  affectionate  smile  found  his  lips  at  the  memory  alone.  hearing  the  television  on  in  the  living  room,  the  walked  towards  the  sound  of  voices  and  smiled  at  the  sight  that  welcomed  him.  marley  half  sitting,  half  laying  on  the  couch,  with  willow ��curled  up  beside  her  with  her  favorite  paw  patrol  blanket  wrapped  around  her.  with  willow’s  mother  not  being  in  the  picture  anymore  marley  was  an  amazing  help  to  have  around,  especially  on  long  days  like  these.  robert  had  come  to  care  for  the  young  woman  and  was  unable  to  keep  back  a  smile  when  noticing  her  about  to  doze  off.    “  hey  there,  marley.  i’m  home  “    he  whispered,  while  gently  nudging  her  shoulder.
