it's the final video of the current hermitcraft season, you open it to find grian doing a final tour of the server, of all the builds and funny stories that had happened

then he goes to the place that started it all, the fishing dock. he never did get that mending book after all

imagine him fishing for one last time for old times sake, the string bobs and he reels in a book

he laughs figuring it’s a sharpness or bane of arthropods, or something just as useless to him. still he goes and opens his inventory. his cursor hovers over the book and right there it says-

mending

in glowing shimmering purple. there is a silence so deafening that you think that someone was murdered

you can physically see his soul leave his body before the most ear piercing scream-

(GREAT GATSBY MUSICAL SPOILERS(ish) AHEAD BTW!!!!!!!!!!)

just recently saw the great gatsby musical on Broadway and had a thought I wanted to share about how much I love the inclusion of roaring on as the opening and closing numbers of the show.

to my knowledge, the lyrics of the chorus remained unchanged for both versions (original and reprise), and I think that is what elevated it to such depths. the lyrics talk about moving from one party to the next, paying off the cops and doing anything to keep a glamorous life "roaring on". at the beginning of the musical, it sets the tone for the main drive; all the characters want to maintain their lives while still doing whatever they can to keep being swept up in the glamour of high class 20's society. it was a gorgeous spectacle of an opener, a dazzling song meant to draw you in and set the scene.

now at the end, even though it all stays essentially the same lyrically, my analysis of it completely changes. after Nick has to watch everything burn so bright and then horrifically die out (literally die out for several characters), and yet everything... really doesn't change for people. the parties and society life will still continue with or without Gatsby's parties, Daisy will still be able to live a privileged life like she did in the beginning, and everything just moves on. applying this to roaring on, it now has a much deeper meaning; it more so represents the fleeting nature of life, and how people can just move on so quickly to the next shiny thing they see. How you may seem on top of the world at one point, but how eventually the party ends, which may affect how your life pans out, YET people will just find another to attend and be swept up in their lives, making yours almost meaningless once all the guests have departed. I really admired just how much the exact same words could create such a different tone in this musical.

Dr. Hirschfield was a gay Jewish doctor and activist who created the first medical institute (Institut für Sexualwissenschaft) for LGBT+ people. He pioneered transgender care!

day 20: paradox - roaring moon/flutter mane (caelestis/silvius)

it's suggestive so i will be putting it under the read more so no one is hit with it immediately

all my paradox ocs were students who were part of the research team from uva academy that went into area zero initially to study the terastal phenomenon under the leadership of professor morow & yor (miraidon & koraidon respectively). the project initially was successful as they were able to harness and use the power safely through the tera orbs. following that success, they decided to invest their research into a time machine that ended in a catastrophic failure. the machine malfunctioned and caused an explosion that killed everyone on the team, except for two young children. as the sole survivors, they were unable to accept and process what had happened. their strong emotions stirred the boundless tera energy around them. in doing so, everyone was miraculously revived...though there is something off about all of them. their original identities have been mixed with figures from the scarlet & violet book, so they are themselves but also not quite it.

as they are given a second chance at life, i feel like both of them would be motivated to do what they regretted not doing before. they liked each other but were never able to confess when they were alive. caelestis was never straightforward about his feelings, while silvius always believed he was too lacking to be loved as is. silvius does a complete personality flip from his original self which throws off caelestis initially, as he acts more like the haughty "faerie queen" from the scarlet book. caelestis has doubts about whether silvius likes him as himself or because the faerie queen is in love with the heavenly lord like in the scarlet book. both of them are eventually able to love and accept each other as they are now though...

i think i made this exact same kind of post before in the early days of my blog but truly shout out to jwcc for reigniting my love for drawing. for 4 years i struggled drawing on a regular basis and for 2 and a half years i had nearly completely dropped art as a hobby. now i do fanart for the gay dino show and i can't remember another time in my life that i've felt this creatively fulfilled
