"Sirius Black, who was supposed to return to his fifth year at school with all the rest of you, had decided, together with his family, that he will continue his studies at home. He is not going to return to Hogwarts. But be rest assured that he is well, and misses all of us."

James yells at that. And he is not the only one. Lily can see some of the girls desolving in tears. Over at the Slytherin table, Sev has a satisfied look on his face. Lily bites at her nails. This doesn't make sense. He would have told her. He should have told her. That's what their letters were all about. James is halfway up to the teachers table, when Dumbledore bids them to quiet down.

James gets pulled to sit down by the seventh year prefect.

When they sing the school hymn, it sounds like a requiem.

1. Revenge *is* the answer (worktitle, Prongsfoot)

Set in a version of the wizarding world where ghosts work a bit differently, Sirius and James team up to hunt Peter Petigreew down.

Or: James comes back (sort of), breaks Sirius out of Azkaban (finally) and decides whoever betrayed them both doesn't deserve to live on.

2. Marauder's Guide to Saving the Wizarding World (Prongsfoot)

I suppose everyone is tired of me talking about this one, but it's my only published wip 😄 James and Sirius compete as a team in the Triwizard Tournament which sets things that were never supposed to happen in their time in motion. Marauders fight Voldemort AU!

Includes lots of Marauder banter, feels, questionable humour, prongsfoot moments and brand new tasks in the tournament

3. No title yet. Star Wars AU + transmigration* (Prongsfoot)

The Proud Immortal Sith Way was a webnovel with an average rating of 2.5. It was, quite frankly, a piece of shit. The only thing that kept James reading, day after day, was the main character, the Jedi turned Sith, Sirius Black.

Sirius' whole life was filled with misfortune and pain. Upon entering the Order he received nothing but distain and distrust from everyone around him, even from his Master. It was no wonder he turned to the Dark side when everyone was just a useless NPC!

'How is it fair that Sirius had to spend the rest of his life in misery after suffering this whole time?!!’ James wrote at 1AM into the comment section of yet another chapter that had Sirius traveling the galaxy and adding another one-chapter, useless love interest to his harem.

The same night, James died. When he woke up, he was in the novel, the words 'Fine, do better,' apprearing in front of his eyes before they blipped out of existence.

*((A variation of SVSS for those aware, but should be totally alright to read without any knowledge of SW or SVSS^^))

4. Fantasy/Knights of the Round table AU (Prongsfoot)

Fantasy, Arthur & Knights of the Round table AU. James in the place of Arthur, future king, and Sirius as Lancelot, his most loyal knight. Features sword-magic, epic adventures and magical creatures. A very much just a concept for now

1. Prongsfoot just...being feral for each other, absolute devotion to the max. They have finally reunited again and there's nothing that can stop them. Also just them...trespassing everywhere 😄 Besides that, definitely the confrontation with Peter!!

2. I'm pretty excited about the Second Task of the Tournament (and a bit scared since I had to create it, hopefully it's interesting). But other than that, to be very vague haha, Prongsfoot meeting Voldemort for the first time!🙈 (There is a line that started this whole fic that I have been waiting to use and its coming closer with each day!!)

3. It's so different so I have to say there're so many things I'm really excited about. Figuring out who should be who in the SW universe is a lot of fun, but I think I'm mostly looking forward to James and Sirius being absolutely unstoppable with lightsabers and the Force. The aspect of the transmigration is also something I'm really really looking forward to

4. I love fantasy so puttting Prongsfoot in there is just a dream. A scene I'm most excited about is Sirius getting knighted by James and swearing his loaylty to him 🥹

Oh My God, She's Insane - Jily Order AU, pre-relationship, comedy/shenanigans.

??? Le Maître de forges AU - this literally did not exist until yesterday when I mentioned this book to Kelsey. Document still does not exist, but I'm thinking about it and it's looking some flavour of viable.

Jilychallenge Fairytale AU - also a document that does not exist, because I'm still waiting for my prompt, but I have high hopes for it. 😁

Pioneers (134k, complete) is like. one of the most popular legendary longfics in the fandom. if toxic/unhealthy codependent dynamics is your thing, it's a must-read. the atyd of j/s except its actually good

On Fire, But We Can't Feel A Thing (100k, 20/?) by @benjamin-ovich is my most re-read fic ever, i am obsessed with it. also a little unhealthy but they're trying lol. amnesia, getting back together, lots of pain for the soul, can not recommend this one enough, seriously. (make sure to subscribe bc i was promised that more fucked up prongsfoot is coming our way)

the ghost of you, it keeps me awake (50k, 12/?) by @gracelesslady23 is a james comes back au set during ootp that I really really love, it tackles all the important issues in this timeline.

Em also has another new wip called you'll see me in hindsight which is an age gap fic where Sirius accidentally time jumps 22 years forward when he is 18. and it's just. soul crushing and drool inducing all at once. mwah.

Anything at all by @padfootastic on the blog or AO3 because I'm obsessed with the way Pen writes them. Some personal favs of mine are i fall to pieces, we should be lovers instead, this unholy smut drabble that's still stuck in my head.

KaiSkitty (@roalinda) has a lot of great works, including the on-going Heaven fic, which is an age-gap, james-comes-back au with a really great premise and amazing worldbuilding.

@siriuslystarbucks's AO3 is an absolute goldmine for anything Prongsfoot, whatever you might want. I aspire to reach this level of dedication one day. The most recent one I've read is Just Come Home, with a s/omc toxic relationship and pining James and a happy ending.

“Potter, James Potter” is basically a Spy x Family au. A super-spy from a country that is vaguely based on Berlin Wall!western europe (Westalis) has to go undercover in a country that is vaguely based on East-Germany (Ostania), in order to ensure there’s no new war starting. He has to assume a new identity, acquire a child, enrol the child in a prestigious school, and make contact with the Main Guy who’s a big danger to a new war starting, Abraxas. He also has to get married. It’s a found family but an actual family, basically.

James Potter (code name: Prongs; most talented spy of the Order of the Phoenix, the intelligence agency; professional liar) is a psychiatrist who adopts a little orphan boy called Harry. Harry can read minds. James does not know this. Harry’s also four, not six; James does not know this either. But he’s ‘papa’ now and he takes this task very seriously.

In order for little mind-reading Harry to enrol in the super elite school, James also needs to be married. His informant Franky Franklin Severus Snape tries to help him with this but Severus doesn’t make a convincing woman (to Harry’s amusement). Enter Sirius Black, code name ‘Padfoot’: a regular guy who is terrified to be seen as a spy, and who needs a boyfriend/husband ASAP. He’s also one of the best Assassins in the country, but nobody knows this. They get engaged in a very beautiful scene filled with dead criminals and an exploding grenade. It’s all very romantic.

Anyway then they’re a family and it’s a whole fluff fest. The whole family loves each other to pieces (“For the mission” - Agent Prongs) but They Do Not Know about the secret identities. An idyllic family of Liars. Harry (very advanced for his actual age) hates studying but needs to in order to advance in school. Harry also punches Draco (very annoying; son of the guy James needs to stop) on the first day of school. He’s one step closer to expulsion every time he enters the school and it stresses James out So Much because Harry needs to remain in school because the mission would fail otherwise. Sirius is mainly stressed about being a Good Husband (he doesn’t know how). Snape is a reluctant fun uncle. Also Lily is like the Head Spy of the Order.

Regulus (raised by Sirius and obsessed with Sirius) also has a secret identity: he’s part of the secret service. He Hates James so much. Despises him, really. James is not worthy of Sirius. He’s got a bit of a brother complex/daddy complex.

Also James figures out that Regulus is part of the Secret Service the moment Regulus tries to ‘get to know’ him. James cannot, for the life of him, figure out that Sirius (the husband he’s with for several hours every day) is an assassin. James panics when he thinks Sirius is mad at him (for the mission). Love makes blind, I guess.

Here’s a snippet:

James Potter walks past bags of rubbish and through rotting, rusted gates, approaches the doors of a rather dilapidated building without a hint of anxiety. Wool’s Orphanage isn’t exactly the height of luxury, but it’s for the best: these children are scarred and quiet and likely hardworking, easy to forge a background for. He would know.

The Matron, an older woman who calls herself Mrs Cole, is drunk. The children may be fed and dry and clean, but they all look miserable and frightened. Prongs—James asks for the smartest kid of the lot, one who can at least read and write. Matron doesn’t seem to have to think for long before leading him to one of the many cramped little rooms, and then gestures at a little boy who can’t be older than four.

“I’m six,” says the boy immediately, rocking back and forth on his feet. He’s cute, in that way a ragged animal with torn ears is cute. His eyes are massive and green, his black hair is a mess, his features are sharp. “I’m Harry.”

“He doesn’t look six,” says James. Can he even read yet?

“I guess.” Mrs Cole sniffs. “Smartest of the lot though. Can do the crossword—”

Harry procures a puzzle book and a pencil from somewhere, sits down, and begins to scribble. It’s not a particularly hard crossword for a trained spy such as himself, and Prongs can answer several hints correctly with nary a glance; but then Harry holds the crossword up, triumphant, and Prongs sees it’s all filled in correctly.

He does not goggle. Spies do not goggle.

“I’ll take him,” he tells the boozed-up Matron. The wording does not leave a bad taste in his mouth. That’s been trained out of him.

“Brilliant,” says Mrs Cole. She looks sickly pleased to have Harry taken off her hands. “I’ll get the papers ready.”

Top 5 Favorite written Fics - I'm going to stick to Prongsfoot fics since it was asked by a Prongsfoot fan of mine:

To Win A Date - This was a fun getting together fic I enjoyed live writing on the Prongsfoot server.

When James' boss decides to do a Date Auction with his players, Sirius does everything in his power to get James out of it, realizing his feelings along the way.

2. Rebuilding - My first fic as Prongsfoot writer :). It has a special place in my heart.

When James was out the night of Halloween, Lily dies, and he's left to pick up the pieces. Luckily Sirius is there to help him.

3. Wooing Sirius Black - the third part of the James Lives series had a lot of fun with it. Playing with the guilt on both their parts.

James and Sirius are finally together - one had been thinking about it for months, the other for years - but just because they want it, doesn't mean it'll come easy. 

A little bit of uncertainty about jumping in feet first on Sirius' part sends James on mission to properly wooing him, the way he'd done for Lily.

4. How To Turn a Double into a Triple - this is Jilypad, Jily seducing Sirius into their bed. Cute, fun, lovely.

After James and Lily get engaged, Sirius decides he wants to find his own "the one", his friends decide to find "the one" for him, neglecting to tell him that they're really looking to make him see he needs more than "one".

5. Prongsfoot Microfics - I've poured my heart and soul into this challenge and a love it quite a lot :)

Thanks so much for the tag @v-a-l <3 Here's a little Harry & Sirius to liven up a Tuesday evening :)

It was with excitement, tempered by a touch of trepidation, that Harry pulled his trunk from the rack and begun dragging it along the corridor and out onto the platform. Today, instead of being picked up by a scowling Uncle Vernon, Harry was to be greeted by someone who actually wanted to take him home from the holidays.

Smoke billowed in the air and students and families swarmed the platform, but Harry found Sirius easily. Not only was his godfather rather taller than average, but Sirius was being given a wide berth by the bustling crowds. In amongst the reuniting families, heads were turned and necks craned to stare at Sirius. Sympathy welled within him, Harry had had more than enough experience with being the subject of gawking.

Although… Harry reconsidered, as a group of giggling and blushing Ravenclaw seventh years pushed passed him, all sending covert glances in Sirius’s direction, it seemed the stares directed at Sirius didn’t entirely arise from his infamy as a recently exonerated mass murder.

5. Do you respond to comments? Always!! I am the staunchest advocate of commenting on fics and replying to comments is the least I can do to show a reader how appreciated their comments are. :)

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I'll say Fixed Luck, because it pretends to give you hope even though in reality all it does is fill you with dread.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I have a lot of fluffy and happy fics! Maybe Nom De Plume, because it's a no Voldemort AU and by the end everything is settled and they live happily ever after!

8. Do you get hate on fics? I wouldn't say full-on hate but some people have objections with the ways I portray Sirius and Lily's relationship, both in romantic and platonic contexts. :p

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? A bit, yeah! Most of it is loving, tender and not super graphic.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? Not really! Though I still want to finish writing that "Lily is a Lois & Clark fan" story. xD

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? I don't think so!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Over Spilt Coffee has been translated in Russian (and I've also written a Greek translation). The translations are linked in the author's notes. There was also a Spanish translation of Birthday but it's been deleted.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? A couple! I've collaborated on taller than the trees with @eemolu, and there are also the two Jily Express Jilytober fics, Soups and Broom Closet Shenanigans and The One Where All The Smut Had Already Happened.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Through Times Of War on FF.net.

16. What are your writing strengths? Being evocative with few words, and a very polished style with attention to detail.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Coming up with ideas! Particularly for longer works. Elaborate plots are not my friends.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I've done it in the past, and I think it served its purpose, but I would rather avoid it unless absolutely necessary.

I’m writing a fic where one of the main characters dies. He’s sick throughout the story, but it’s unclear whether he will die or not until the end. I don’t want to put the Major Character Death tag because it will spoil it. Do you know if there is anything else I could put in the tags, or do I have to use it? 

This is interesting. I think using the "creator chose not to give warnings" (or whatever it is will get you covered).

I would also put "unhappy ending", "angst without a happy ending", and "hurt / no comfort".

I'm usually a fluff writer, so I'm going to tag some writer friends to get their feedback.
