Book Review: In Flight (Up in the Air #1) by R.K. Lilley

Let me just start off by saying that I really enjoyed this book and have read it several times. I have been meaning to write a review for awhile, and am glad that I'm finally getting it done! This book features the alpha, dominant male that seems to be trending in romance type novels, but has a different twist on it by the female lead also being interested in the BDSM lifestyle. The characters in this book were well developed with depth and background that made them incredibly relate able. From the beginning you could tell that Bianca was conditioned based on her past to resist any advances from such a powerful man, but in the end couldn't help but experiment with preferences she didn't fully understand that she had. Without even realizing it James was healing her and helping to provide her with a safe outlet for things she needed. Her relationship with Stephan, while complex, was definitely understandable with everything the two had been through as runaways. James, from the beginning, seemed to understand that the two best friends had something special, and also that it was something that was necessary for the two of them to function. He was patient with Bianca as she seemed to need time to understand her feelings and used being on Stephan's good side to his advantage. Ultimately the ending was a bit a cliffhanger so I was extremely excited to read the second book. I highly recommend this book and am afraid to write more as I will probably end up with a ton of spoilers. :)
