memory “drabbles” || accepting@rizapedia❥ - a childhood memory

There was not much she can remember, or at the very least, NOT much she can cherish and moments where she’s not fearful. Her childhood never began until she was eight-years old, right after Suyin saved her from the streets and brought her in to live with her family in Zaofu. But there were also not many things she did like what any child around that age would do, spending most of her time honing her earthbending skills with Su, learning how to read and write with the woman’s husband who taught her those things. Then again, Su NEVER locked her in indoors, giving her the freedom she needed quite often as well. And how could she EVER forget the first very memory that played in her mind when she thought about her childhood?

Startled, Kuvira stared at the hand that APPEARED before her. She looked up to see Baatar Junior’s kind face gazing down at her. She couldn’t help it but to look away away nervously. However, the matriarch’s eldest son was PERSISTENT; never retracting his hand away and the smile of his never let down. A twitch on the very corner of her lips turned upwards into a smile, letting out a small giggled upon seeing the look on his face when he raised his brows. Finally, she relented, placing her hand on top of his; both cheeks tinging red.

He immediately tugged her towards the others, where both Opal and Huan are waiting for them to play a game of tag while the two adults and the twins, who were too young at the time, watched from the side. They played for HOURS until the sun went down, the domes closing, but the fun never stopped when they built a pillow fort in the living room, hearing the many adventures Su ventured when she was younger. 

But that’s all in the PAST now, she tells herself. She guessed the others have ALREADY forgotten (perhaps refused to acknowledge) the things they did when they were kids. After all, who wants even wants to be known as former GREAT UNITER’S family? She was sure the Beifong name are shamed due to the connections they once had with her, and she cannot blame them for wanting to cut her off completely, along with the bittersweet memories.

Edward was listening to his iPod walking down the road in silence. It was a chilly autumn morning and he had his hoodie on hiding his hands in his pocket.
