I was tagged by @sothischickshe (thank you!!! 🥰) to answer 20 questions for writers:
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
205.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
609,094
3. What fandoms do you write for?
fandoms i've written for include:
Law & Order: SVU / L&O: Organized Crime
Good Girls
Gotham
Buffy the Vampire Slayer / Angel
Criminal Minds
Graceland
Stranger Things
The Walking Dead
Riverdale
Castlevania
Preacher
Four Brothers
Outer Banks
Gilmore Girls
while no longer available, in the past i've also written for:
Fast and Furious franchise
MCU / Marvel
Boondock Saints
Hocus Pocus
From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series
DC
(plus more i'm probably forgetting about)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Shared History (Good Girls/Brio)
Degree of Separation (Good Girls/Brio)
Milkshakes (Good Girls/Brio)
Deep Sense of Belonging (Good Girls/Brio)
Sacred Art of Kissing (Good Girls/Brio)
5. Do you respond to comments?
i read all of them for sure but i'm terrible sometimes at responding although i do try my best
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
ooft, okay. there's probably more than this but the following have major character death warnings that could very well be classed as angsty lmao:
i wrote this little ficlet: Gone (SVU, bensler/EO) in which a raid goes wrong and it's just pain from start to finish and then there's Until Long After She Takes Her Final Breath which is a Good Girls/brio fic in which their reunion at the beginning of season 3 goes very differently.
Why don't we go to Venus? is another Good Girls/brio fic in which the summary is: Rio killed her and that was supposed to be the end of it but Beth doesn’t seem to be done with him quite yet.
that one is probably my angstiest overall but the ending is probably the least angsty bit about it??? haha
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
honestly? i have no idea and i have no clue how to check 😭😂
8. Do you get hate on fics?
there was someone going around the SVU/OC fandom leaving weird hate comments on people's stuff (anonymously) and i got one but while it felt rude, it didn't feel like hate, but also it felt like it was supposed to be hateful, y'know? pretty sure i just deleted it though (i for sure ignored it) 😂
but generally, no. i'm lucky to say that i tend to avoid hate on social media and that includes fanfiction.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
i have done and the variety isn't huge but it's there? i guess?
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
i have done! beyond the obvious (where shows, etc share worlds), i did a boondock saints/the walking dead one (which was also co-written) because norman reedus stars in both 😂
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that i'm aware of?
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
again, not that i'm aware of
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
yes! the aforemention boondock saints/the walking dead fic was co-written on ff.net and i co-wrote (with the same person), a fast and furious fic.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
i lost myself a ton in writing olivia/elliot from svu/organized crime as well as beth/rio from good girls so they'd probably battle it out for top spot.
BUT
if i'm being brutally honest, my all time favourite ever to write were fast and furious ships 😂 especially the OGs (specifically vince and leon) with my OCs (although there were canon ships i loved to write too!). it was just so fun and freeing and i constantly think about it.
(i also loved when i wrote random marvel/mcu pairings, winterwitch was probably my number one for them and again, i think about it a lot)
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
i think it's unlikely i'll finish a lot but especially a degree of separation. i kind of hate it, i'm so sorry 😭😭😭
16. What are your writing strengths?
the thought of analysing my own writing right now sounds painful but two of the most common nice things people tell me is that: 1) they like how i write dialogue and 2) they like my writing style in general
(but of which i highly appreciate!)
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
i don't do it enough?
nah. true but seriously, there's a ton, however, i do tend to waffle on and write something in several sentences that could have been just one 😭
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I don't think i've ever done it? if i have it'll be dialogue or whatever that's already in the show/move/etc
19. First fandom you wrote for?
The Fast and the Furious 🥰
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
still on ao3: it has to be Why don't we go to Venus? but also Knock First which is a Beth/Rio/Original Male Character threesome fic that was SO MUCH fun
no longer posted: a fic for The Fast and the Furious. it was a Vince/OC story. it was so much fun to write and it was one of my most popular back when i was posting on ff.net and i miss this story all the time (even though it's probably awful 😂) and always think about re-writing and posting it again on ao3
Tagging: @conscience-killer @constant-sinner @astarkey @xstrawmari @blainesebastian if ya like! (sorry if you've been tagged before!)
#long post#tag games#i forgot how long i take to answer these things#(totally my fault! thanks for tagging! seriously!)#but now i'm going to leave this site and play some baldur's gate 3 😂

the failure of the new Super Eyepatch Wolf Riverdale video brought me to watching a playthrough of Pentiment to distract myself from the disappointment, and the person just got to act three and now i'm about to cry again. why the fuck do i do this to myself? jesus fucking christ. love this game so much. genuinely one of the greatest pieces of art of our time.
"we were here. this happened." we must remember the darkness and the pain too. we cannot forget that history is now. history is people, not just words on some page.
maybe someday i'll end up doing that video essay i just made up in my head about how Insidious: The Red Door and Pentiment are sister narratives about pain, trauma, and history.

advice for someone from another country visiting new york for the first time for like 2weeks?
ahh honored that you would ask my advice!
General/boring advice: be prepared for Weather (carry a sweatshirt and an umbrella bc the ones they sell on the street are shit, carry a handfan bc the trains aren't always air conditioned), avoid the G and L trains wherever possible, and the 1 train on the weekends, be alert but don't be afraid, pay attention to subway announcements and read the subway maps carefully (ppl will know you're a tourist if you're glued to the map inside the train car but who cares), avoid times square if you can help it, walk fast if you're in midtown everyone will be grateful, dont smile at strangers except old ladies and babies, thank your bus driver. Follow @got2gonyc on insta bc they have a map of public bathrooms that is VITAL (my personal favorite public bathroom in nyc is inside the shops at columbus circle.)
NOW for fun stuff/ Grand List of Recommendations. im going to split this into sections and go into WAY too much depth. im also assuming you're staying in manhattan but going to provide recs throughout the boroughs
Culture
if you have some money to burn, definitely see some theatre. If you like musicals, Kimberly Akimbo has $40 rush tickets (meaning if you show up at the box office right when it opens you can get cheap seats), Parade has $45 rush (if you're going to the city before it closes).
see a film at the Metrograph or Film Forum (metrograph has uncomfy seats tbh but always shows great stuff.) The Angelika is also fine, and Alamo Drafthouse is not NY-specific but it's cool.
go to The Strand! not on a weekend bc it's far too crowded but there are just so. many. books. or go to a community bookstore like Word Up in Washington Heights or Bluestockings downtown (lots of queer and political books)
You gotta do a museum or two. The Museum of the Moving Image in Queens is all about film and if you love movies, it is beyond delightful. You can spend a whole day at the Met just wandering, but if you like an agenda, I really recommend going to the Dutch painting collection in Gallery 964 and checking out my favorite painting I've ever seen up close, as well as the sculpture garden in the American Wing, the Asian Wing, the Islamic Wing, and the Egyptian exhibit (you have to walk through it to get to a bunch of other things anyway). There are some van Goghs there, too, and the costuming exhibit and and and-- ok i'll stop here. The American Museum of Natural History has the ability to make you feel like a kid again if you were into science as a child.
Lots of museums, including El Museo del Barrio, Bronx Museum of Art, and the Museum of Jewish Heritage have days where admission is free. Lot of the galleries in Chelsea are also free every day (including the Gagosian Galleries on West 24th and the Chase Contemporary)
Visit a library! The big one in midtown or a smaller one (Morningside Heights Library by the Columbia campus is nice, I like the Mosholu one in the Bronx as well)
Food
you cannot leave NY without having a good NY bagel. Downtown: Bagel Bob's. Uptown: Pick-A-Bagel. Bronx: Riverdale Bagels (you need a bus to get to this one, or a long walk, but worth it.) Downtown, midtown, and Brooklyn: Russ and Daughter's. any old dollar pizza place is probably great, but if you want to be fancy, go to Luzzo's on the upper east side.
if you eat fish, Astoria Seafood is a MUST. fresh, delicious, no frills, BYOB. easy to get lost on the way there if you don't know Queens, so be careful.
Queens in general is a great place to eat. Most diverse urban community in the world! Mama's Empanadas (right by the Museum of the Moving Image, on Steinway Street) is a strong recommendation there, as well. Hot pot, bubble tea, Greek food, and momos are, as a general rule, very good in Queens.
if you want relatively affordable sushi and sake, Marumi is my go-to in Manhattan.
if you want a bougie brunch or dinner, go to Lido in Harlem. Any Jamaican place in Harlem or buffet-style southern food is likely to be good if you want to be adventurous and just pick one. Pies n Thighs in Brooklyn is also good southern-inspired food if you eat meat.
Tasty Handpulled Noodles in Chinatown (there's one on Doyers and one on 9th ave) is some of the best Chinese food. Chinatown Ice Cream Factory is upsettingly expensive but very delicious.
If you like to cook, go to Kalustyan's in Little India and get yourself some spices. They have more kinds of pepper there than you've ever seen in your life.
there is a sandwich shop in the Bronx i will ONLY tell you about via dm bc i won't have my secret faves revealed in a public forum.
lmk if you want Fancy-fancy recs for food, I can make a whole other post.
Green Spaces/Nature
Wave Hill up in Riverdale is beyond beautiful, and free on Thursdays. A bit of a trek from any trains, buses involved etc, but worth it!!
If you're going with friends or peers, a picnic in Central Park (North Meadow by the 103rd st/CPW entrance is a good spot, also Sheep Meadow or the Great Lawn) or just a walk through the park can be amazing. A little touristy, but who's counting.
The Coney Island Aquarium (whether or not you also go to the amusement park) is really nice. Very far from Manhattan, but easy to find (lots of crowds lots of signs)
I don't know Prospect Park in Brooklyn super well, other than the area right by Ample Hills Creamery-- great ice cream, by the way-- but it's pretty and really huge. On that note, also try The Social in Brooklyn for ice cream and DEFINITELY eat an icee from a cart. Churros from a cart in the subway in particular also always hit.
It is tenuous to call this nature but the Union Square Farmer's Market pops up every Saturday and you can buy really good produce/honey/flowers/booze (also, incidentally, right by a good ice cream place, Van Leeuwen's) ((also incidentally, I'm at the market pretty much every Saturday. idk if meeting a tumblr friend is on your want list but yeah.))
#this list is also quite summer-centric so if youre going when it's colder lmk and ill revamp the list#have the best best time i love my city so muchhhh

I guess I have to explain my au because I don’t feel like doing the concept art for characters.
Have you ever read played a game with a teen/young adult and asked yourself “what would happen if they took the game and made it into a bad teen drama.” Well, that’s what I thought. And I actually decided to write it.
It basically makes it into a modern fantasy high school au, but like, riverdale like. I will quote some lines from the fanfic
“I have always been a weirdo, wherever I go. The one who doesn’t move a facial muscle while watching a horror movie, the one who won’t cry when the dog dies in a family movie, and the one who doesn’t feel all lovey dovey when the two accountants fall in love at the end of a romantic comedy. I have also been told by doctors that I am weird in other ways too. Maybe there is a reason for my weirdness, but who knows? Maybe I will one day find the answer to it and why my dad keeps moving from city to city, village to village. But for now. It is all a mystery,” -byleth
“Also I see you got Caspar for your little useless Sigma army. Quite a useless army indeed,” - Felix
“Are you talking about me or are you talking shit about our boomer principal?” - Felix, Sagan
Now I won’t go all in depth about the outfits. But I did describe Linhardt as a person looking like they needed to buy a new joint while also having to dress up for your Oscar Wilde bookclub
Here’s the plot if you’re wondering about it, basically it starts with byleth (new student at the school) basically making Felix’s (bad boy, longer, has a hug collection of sword) life hell. To the point she follows him into the woods, where they discover a huge rock with strange symbols on it. So those 2 and the other main characters (Claude, Hilda, Lorenz, Edelgard, Ferdinand, Dorothea, Dimitri, Ingrid) decide to investigate further. Discovering more about the history of the school and it’s bad deeds.

When wheelchair-bound Subaru Miyazawa decides to visit the planetarium after finishing its brochure design, he unexpectedly bumps into Togo Awase, the photographer involved in the project. Subaru could only hope they would meet again...
All The Lovely Bad Ones GN - Mary Downing Hahn, Scott Peterson & Naomi Franquiz
Travis and his sister, Corey, can't resist a good trick. When they learn that their grandmother's quiet Vermont inn, where they're spending the summer, has a history of ghost sightings, they decide to do a little "haunting" of their own. Before long, their supernatural pranks have tourists flocking to the inn, and business booms. But Travis and Corey soon find out that theirs aren't the only ghosts at Fox Hill Inn. Their thoughtless games have awakened something dangerous, something that should have stayed asleep. Can these siblings lay to rest the restless spirits they've disturbed?

Art Brut HC Vol 1 - W. Maxwell Prince, Martin Morazzo & Mat Lopes
Presenting here the first major work from the creative minds behind ICE CREAM MAN-re-lettered, remastered, and under its original intended name! The world of fine art is falling apart, and only ART BRUT knows how to fix it. Alongside the Bureau of Artistic Integrity, Arthur Brut the Mad Dreampainter (and his trusty sidekick, Manny the Mannequin) must dive back into the very paintings that made him insane...or reality itself might just crumble to pieces.
A colorful, gonzo romp through art and art history, ART BRUT is equal parts police procedural, hyper-fantasy, and psychological thriller-a veritable Pollock-splatter of comics genres tossed onto one giant pulpy canvas! Each chapter features new cover art, new design, and a new Silver Age-style backup story featuring the art hero that no one's ever heard of-until now! Originally published under the title The Electric Sublime, this special hardcover edition presents the NPR-lauded, critically acclaimed material in its intended form.
Associate Professor Akira Takasuki's Conjecture GN Vol 1 - Mikage Sawamura & Toji Aio

When a paper of his piques the interest of his folklore studies professor Akira Takatsuki, a handsome and eccentric man, he soon finds himself dragged into Akira's research. Now, as the assistant in charge of common sense, he must help his professor interpret an array of unexplainable phenomena...
The Calvin & Hobbes Portable Compendium - Bill Watterson
Calvin and Hobbes is unquestionably one of the most popular comic strips of all time. The imaginative world of a boy and his real-only-to-him tiger first appeared in 1985 and could be read in more than 2,400 newspapers when Bill Watterson retired on January 1, 1996. This compact, portable new format is designed to introduce the timeless adventures of Calvin and Hobbes to a new generation of readers, and will fit easily into backpacks as well as on the collector's shelf. Featuring archival slipcase and cover art selected by the author, The Calvin and Hobbes Portable Compendium pays tribute to the strip's origin in newspapers while appealing to both new and existing fans. This set is composed of two 144-page paperback books, including over 500 comics from the strip's debut in Nov. 1985 through March 1987. It is the first of seven sets total to be released between 2023 and 2026.
Cat-Eyed Boy Perfect Edition HC Vol 1 - Kauzo Umezz
From the mind of Kazuo Umezz, undisputed master of Japanese horror manga and creator of The Drifting Classroom and Orochi, comes Cat-Eyed Boy! This deluxe edition contains five classic horror stories featuring a mysterious and dangerous cat-eyed boy who lives among humans, comes from the world of demons, and is despised by both. What's also giving him frets is his parents living on two separate floors in their apartment building. He's never fully with one parent or the other. He's in-between, all the time. The in-between time. And the elevator is busted, so to get between floors means getting past the bullies who hang in the stairwells. So when Portico and new friend, Herbert, and best best friend, Zola, discover an empty apartment, unlocked, they are psyched. It's a perfect hideout, and hangout, and it's not half anyone's... it's all theirs. So they decide to make it their own...let's say with stunts of the drawing kind. Problem is, that gives some Grown Up People the frets, which leads to double frets for Portico. And he's not sure his arsenal of stunts can combat that.

Self-Healing with Mark-Making
Self-Portrait, Ann Marie, Cooking Up Community, 2023
Scarborough Arts, committed to fostering creativity and community engagement, recently collaborated with emerging artist Ann Marie to host a transformative virtual workshop. Titled "Self-Healing with Mark-Making," the workshop aimed to enhance the well-being of seniors in the Cooking Up Community program through various drawing techniques. Ann Marie's story is particularly inspiring, as she emerged from a place of self-doubt to become a confident artist and mentor. Ann Marie was initially told she lacked "an artistic bone in her body." Undeterred, Ann Marie found solace and purpose in creative expression, developing skills in drawing, crochet, photography and several other arts. Her self-confidence and self-awareness paved the way for her to not only create and exhibit her own artwork but also to share her knowledge with others.
Self-Healing with Mark-Making, Zeni Shariff, Cooking Up Community, 2023
The virtual workshop facilitated by Ann Marie focused on using drawing as a tool for self-healing. Participants, regardless of age, disability, or financial background, were generously supplied with high-quality stationery, journals, and gift cards by Scarborough Arts, ensuring that everyone had the opportunity to engage in the creative process. Ann Marie guided the seniors through a series of drawing exercises designed to reduce stress and enhance overall well-being. The use of mark-making techniques allowed participants to delve into their creative imagination, providing a respite from the challenges of daily life.

Inviting program participants like Ann Marie to lead workshops offers numerous benefits. It expands the artist's network, fosters social connections, and brings visibility to their artistic practice. More importantly, it provides a new stream of income for practitioners who may have faced barriers in the traditional art world. The feedback from workshop participants was overwhelmingly positive. Many expressed feeling less stressed after completing their artwork and highlighted the therapeutic benefits of engaging in the creative process. The session not only offered a break from their daily challenges but also provided a sense of accomplishment as they proudly displayed their creations at the end of the workshop. Lisa from our workshop not only created a remarkable work of art guided by Ann Marie's successful prompts, but also shared paintings she created with her daughter, forging intergenerational bonds through art-making.
Paintings by Lisa, Cooking Up Community, 2023
Scarborough Arts, through initiatives like the Cooking Up Community program, continues to champion the transformative power of art. Ann Marie's journey from a place of self-doubt to becoming a creative mentor exemplifies the positive impact of providing opportunities for emerging artists to share their skills. The "Self-Healing with Mark-Making" workshop not only benefited the participants but also showcased the potential for creative expression to foster resilience, self-discovery, and community connection.
