THOUGHT EXERCISE TIME you have to script one (1) hiram/archie kiss into the existing show somewhere. no plot impact at all, it's never going to be brought up again onscreen it just becomes part of the overall texture of everything that's already going on in canon between them. where does it go, for maximum high camp and/or dramatic impact (double spaced on lined paper by friday eod)

i think my answer is any archie dream sequence/hallucination but especially during the 3x09 no exit "kill the man in black" scene. direct joaquin callback/parallel as archie kisses hiram before he stabs him, INTENSE emotional transition into archie in his childhood bedroom violently repressing the parts of himself he doesn't like with a baseball bat in front of his dad.

and then he never does anything with it! never addresses it consciously ever. no unpacking of what it actually means if part of him thinks he should/could/would kiss hiram lodge. nope! bottled up and buried! moving on!

(doing it during the football war dream sequence in 5x04 is super super potent too. just color archie's entire return to riverdale differently. make it even WEIRDER when he and hiram finally do face off on the football field while cheryl performs lady gaga stupid love and they make heavy eye contact timed to the look at me look at me lyrics like they're in an amv)

What I found weird with the time jump in terms of jiara is that they showed us jarah and cleopope interacting in a way that showed they were together but not jiara and now I'm kind of worried bc it is definitely a weird choice???

Firstly, the time jump definitely sucked. It's one of the very few things I think I'd change about this season. I get that there were some reasons for them doing it, but we'd just got two new couples established and have missed out on the chance to see them settle into these new relationships.

As for how they executed the time jump, that also might be a little flawed. For me personally, I couldn't tell if JJ and Kie were still together after the time jump. I wish that hadn't remained ambiguous. I know it's been said that a show of outward public affection may not be Jiara's love language, but I don't entirely agree with that.

However, I don't think that there's much to be worried about over Jiara being endgame. This show isn't like a soap opera or Riverdale where people change or let go of partners easily. The relationships they've put onto the screen are lasting and I think their time in Poguelandia really solidified the foundations for that. Jiara was an excellent buildup and I don't think that will be put aside without explanation over a (much too long) time jump. It was nice to see Jarah and Cleopope clearly happy together in their romantic relationships, though I do wish we had gotten to see Jiara in their romantic relationship past 3x09.

I’m on season 3, episode 9 of Riverdale. My thoughts:

This show cracks me up! 😂 So campy. Archie just got attacked by a bear lmao

Hoping for Veronica/Reggie and FP/Alice to get together. Also I of course love Cheryl/Toni. I want Jughead to be single and Betty & Archie together. 🤞🏻

Alice is a queen and Kevin is iconic. Josie & the pussycats and the serpents are great too, especially Sweet Pea 😍 🐍

I got my mom to watch the show bc she read the comics. 😊

This show predicted a quarantine 😅

Also sad seeing Luke Perry knowing he died last year 😢💔 What a great actor and a sweet character on the show. 💗

The more I think about it, the more I loved seeing Betty the way she lives in Archie’s head. 

He sees her as so sweet and pure and innocent. It really sheds some light on his whole, “I’ll never be good enough for you” comment. He clearly has her on this pedestal… But you can just see in the dream sequence how important she is to him and in what high regard he holds her (she speaks the most, he listens to her the most). 

And I really just wanted a standalone gif of the hand hold, because I squealed.
