Cardigan
Tumblr media
Lena was an early riser. She liked the quiet of the city before anyone else woke up, the colour of the sky before the sun was truly out and the calmness in the air that let her feel free of responsibilities, if only for a short moment. Yet, waking up curled up next to Kara in bed got her in no hurry to get out. She could go without coffee for a bit longer.
Kara was still asleep and Lena was content just holding her close for a while. She still couldn't believe everything that had happened between them, that Kara and her were really a thing. But she believed Kara completely and wholly when she told her she loved her, and for the first time in her life let herself feel secure and safe with everything she was with another person.
After a long while in bed Lena started to get restless, she needed her coffee and wanted the fresh air, maybe even start off with one of the books she brought specifically for their time here. She really missed reading, it was not an easy hobby to hold on to in her busy schedule. She carefully wiggled herself free from Kara's grasp and tiptoed her way down to the kitchen, collecting random articles of clothing along the way from the ground and her open suitcase in the corner.
Lena got her sweatpants and a white shirt, but it was Kara's cardigan she collected instead of her own. She smiled to herself as she put it on, letting herself be surrounded with Kara's smell. In the kitchen, the old kettle whistled, letting her know the water had boiled. Lena took it off the stove and finished making her coffee. Taking a small sip she was really glad she brought her own special blend from home.
Lena took her coffee, one of her books and headed outside. There was a light rain outside, so sitting on one of the chairs in the garden was probably not a smart idea, luckily there was an old bench next to the backyard entrance under the small pergola with a small table next to it that seemed great. She put down the coffee and the book on the table and went inside to gather a small pillow. She put the pillow under her back so she could lay reclined on the bench in a comfortable position right next to the table. The view of the small garden was gorgeous, she didn't remember it, but it gave her some sense of comfort. The air felt fresher than anything she breathed in a long while.
Her coffee was gone and she was a few good pages into her book when she saw Kara appear near the back door. Lena smiled to herself as the very sleepy Kryptonian made her way to her and laced herself on top of Lena, her face buried in her stomach granting her a pretty nice and warm personal heavy blanket.
"You weren't in bed," Kara explained, her voice deep and rusp with sleep.
Lena chuckled, letting the hand that held the book fall to her side as the other started curling through Kara’s hair.
"Did you miss me?" She teased.
"Mmm," Kara affirmed with a hum, burning her face further under Lena's Shirt.
Lena simply smiled.
There she was curled on a bench with the love of her life reading a book on a lazy morning in her first ever home. Shedding their family's past and expectations behind,  in order to let themselves build a new future together. Their very own family.
Lena took a deep breath of fresh air and let herself fully relax. She wasn't sure how she was so lucky to get to that point in her life, but she’d never felt happier.

sorry to bother you, i saw your 2022 hourly comic post today and i first want to say thank you because it’s really my exact situation in so many ways, right down to being apart from my partner (haven’t gotten to see her since the start of the pandemic since we’re both disabled and public transport is a covid nightmare but we’re on the council housing waitlist so hopefully eventually!) and it means a lot to not feel alone in that. i wanted to ask about the mobility chair that helps you sit up if that’s okay? i have a simple bed setup but being able to sit in the living room with the sun and a view is nice, but i can’t sit up unsupported for long and i can’t really like Do Anything and also sit upright bc the sitting up is all my energy, so a chair like that might be something to save for if you could maybe tell me about it! also does it have support for the neck/head? i think my spine is getting compressed from not being able to sit up for so long lol but i might be able to find cushions for that so that’s less essential!
anyway, sorry to ramble on! no pressure if you can’t manage a reply, the fact that i know about such chairs now is helpful so thank you either way!! and probably very belated but i was scrolling your blog and happy to see you have a place with your partner, so congrats! take care and all the best to you both!
thank you for this message, v sorry you're in the same boat as I was. Answering properly and publicly in case this is useful for anyone else:
Stuff I personally use to make being bedbound more comfortable
obligatory disclaimer I am not a doctor, stretching or moving your body a little (see 18) if or when you can is probably good, etc.
1. SPECIAL FURNITURE The chair I have NOW is a "riser recliner" and I usually add a small pillow for lower back (and sometimes head) support. Like adjustable beds, they're whole furniture with powerful (HEAVY) motors built in, so they're expensive. They're usually cheaper:
if you don't need to be tipped out (just power recliners, though they might recline less or provide less support)
from regular shops, not mobility ones.
If you're able, you can go into a store and try one out first (personally being taken in a wheelchair was worth the strain, because it was weirdly hard to predict what back shape would be comfy).
if you're in the UK and you're 'chronically sick or disabled' you can get them VAT-free to make them 20% cheaper - mobility stores will have a form, others you might have to ask / check the shop does it
(I got one I could lie flat in, that came with a free setup service in the 'room of my choice'.)
It still took me 8 years of illness mostly stuck in bed to get both chair and bed because of (a) the price (b) not being sure I was sick enough to "deserve" it, same with my wheelchair. THIS WAS A FOOLISH WAY OF THINKING. There's no threshold required to get devices that will make your life easier / less agonising. Mobility aids are for anyone who'll be helped by them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. ADJUST EXISTING FURNITURE WITH WEIRD PILLOWS Special furniture will obviously not be possible for everyone, and before I got the chair, I just used a combo of regular pillows and a triangle wedge pillow in bed (though it took trying 2 different wedges to find one that was a good shape for me.)
Last year someone ( @dont-break-hearts I think? THANK YOU) recommended me this shape cushion - some start at £15 on that site. That's now what I use to sit on a regular sofa, though I also always need my legs up at the same height (tall footstool now, but a sideways dining chair works ok) so it's closer to lying down.
These aren't 100% ideal - ymmv, I still need extra cushions and any position gets stiff after a while - but for me are WAY BETTER than just layering pillows or forcing myself to sit up.

Clandestine meetings (part 1)
Part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6, part 7, part 8
Sherlock x (married) oc!
Summary!
Descriptive writing by me, dialogues by @gregorovitch-adler
Tumblr media
The rising sun brought the late 19th century London a serene morning. The dark faded away and London was about to see a rather sunny day which was a rare sight. The jolly city was slowly becoming less quieter. Yet the winter was rather brutal and the chilling air hit every early riser, as a reminder of the severe cold that year's winter guided with it. With all the early risers, there was another who, after his morning walk, was heading towards his friend Mr Sherlock Holmes. Dr Watson walked his way with smoke like vapour coming out of his mouth with everyone he greeted saying, “Good morning”. As for Sherlock Holmes, no one knew what he was doing, he might be at his flat, or perhaps out to find out the missing piece of a puzzle. He was a detective, but for everyone around him, including Dr Watson he was as much of a mystery as the other was to him. However, Dr Watson reached his friend's residence panting after a long morning walk and climbed up the stairs of 221b Baker Street, wasting no time.
As he entered the apartment, of which the door was already ajar, it baffled Dr Watson to the core. Was it a break in? Or a client early in the morning? With all curiosity he went inside and noticed that Holmes was reclining on his armchair beside the window, smoking a pipe. The room was filled with a slight smoke. He stole a glance at him yet didn't move or say anything.
Shaking his head, Watson closed the door of the flat behind him, walked across the room and stopped close to his companion.
Holmes pulled out his pipe with his long and thin fingers and seemed to come out of a trance. "Why does everything need to change, Watson? It took me a full week to adjust to the bitter winter. I do not approve of these constant changes." His eyes were fixed on the dimly lit fireplace as he spoke.
"Shall I open the windows, Holmes?" asked Watson, knowing that fresh air might lift Holmes' spirits.
Holmes said nothing. He sat the way he had been for no one knew how much time.
Without waiting for an answer, Watson went straight to the window and held it open, sliding the curtains. He turned around and noticed that Holmes' demeanour was becoming decidedly better than before.
As the sunlight hit the room, Holmes, alongside with the sitting room of 221b Baker Street, rejuvenated. The little dust particles were visible floating in the air through the sunlight like shiny glitter.
“You are the only constant in this changing age, Watson,” said he as he turned a little and looked around the room.
Watson smiled to himself knowing how much this cold detective appreciated him and walked to the chair across Holmes'. However, before he could sit, there was a knock on the door. Three knocks specifically.
“Three knocks. It is a client,” said Holmes. Yet he didn't get up to open the door. Like he barely did. Watson sighed, he'd always wondered how a person could sit at the same place for hours and still not have the urge to lift himself from there.
As he went to the door of the flat to answer, it revealed a lady.
She had a rather unusual appearance for a Londoner. The lady wore something different from the English women. She wore a saree - a traditional Indian attire.
She stood panting at the doorstep, staring at Watson with her big, dark eyes. Her dark hair hung so low behind her, it almost touched her hips. Her height was assumed to be a little more than five feet.
She looked breathless, presumably she came to them running, yet her exhaustion couldn't hide how beautiful she was. Watson also noticed a streak of vermilion in her mid-parted hair.
“Let me in. Oh, good sir, please. I need to speak to Mr Sherlock Holmes,” said she in her broken English which had no British touch to it. Her accent told that she was still learning, and that she was an Indian.
Watson knitted his brows and gave her a nod as he stepped aside to let her in. Her appearance seemed intriguing to Holmes. He got up to draw a chair for the lady - one that he and Watson had reserved for the clients.
The lady sat down and stared at the apartment floor in horror for a few seconds, trying to calm herself a bit.
“I suggest you start talking immediately. We do not have all day.” Holmes stated a bit of annoyance evident in his voice. Watson looked at Holmes pointedly at his rudeness to the lady as he went to the kitchen to get a glass of water for her.
He got back, handed the glass to the woman, she thanked him silently and began to drink. She stared at Holmes without blinking, her big, dark brown eyes with kohl around them, inspecting the detective from head to toe. Perhaps she was new to the country, so she seemed to be in awe of the locals.
“What's your name, Ms?” Watson asked politely.
Drinking the whole glass of water in a few seconds, the lady set it down on her lap. “Mrs Devi Dey,” she answered, looking at the two men.
“And what brings you here?” asked Holmes. He finally clasped his hands together, letting the fingertips touch each other.
Watson looked around himself and spotted a few newspapers thrown on the ground. He picked up one of them and gave it to Mrs Dey. She began to fan herself after glancing at Watson with gratitude. She cooled down a bit and finally started to speak about her issue. “My husband and I moved to London last year after his job promotion. He works at The Daily Telegraph. He comes home at seven in the evening daily when I make dinner for us.
“Last night, not only was he two hours late, but he also kept staring at the wall opposite to him in the sitting room blankly. I kept calling him for half an hour or so after I was done making dinner, but he wouldn't listen! I seldom have dinner alone, but last night I did. After dinner, I went to the sitting room to check on him once again. He was staring at the floor then, lost in his thoughts. Thinking he would join me later, I went to bed.
“But he never came to the bedchamber. He was already leaving for work when I got up - three hours before his usual time. I couldn't let him go today. I had to draw words out of his mouth, sir!”
“What happened to him?” asked Watson and furrowed his brow, growing almost as impatient as Holmes, but trying his best to keep it to himself. Whereas Holmes was sitting with his fingertips joint together and touching his chin with his eyes closed.
“His senior officer has accused him of corruption. That wretched fellow! He did this in front of the entire office, and now nobody in the company is assigning any tasks to my husband. He says he might either be arrested or fired from his job. What shall I do? Where should we go after this?
“I know my husband is innocent, Mr Holmes. I just know it. However, I do not know what to do.”
“For now, you can go back home,” said Holmes as he sat back in his chair with his eyes closed.
Mrs Dey looked at Holmes as if she had just been slapped. Her expression told how offended she'd been. She came to Sherlock Holmes’ place for refuge but all she got from him was his rudeness. She turned to look at Watson with pleading eyes.
Watson did not know why Holmes suddenly withdrew from the problem either. He looked at Holmes in confusion for a split second, but then he decided to put up an act.
“Mrs Dey, My friend Holmes needs to think about this whole problem in detail. He will take the case, I can assure that,” said Watson, Holmes flung his eyes open and stared with utter disbelief. He ignored Holmes’ pointed glare at him, “but till then, it would be best if you leave him alone.”
Mrs Dey's delicate features relaxed a little, as she got up from her chair, Yet she was rather unhappy with the detective. She'd heard he was the best one in the city, in the whole country. However, it seemed to her that he needed his attitude to be fixed somehow. Turning around, and walking out of 221 B, Baker Street, she could only think of her dilemma.
Gazing at the staircase leading outside the apartment building, Watson contemplated seeing her out, but as he made his way to the door of their residence, Holmes got hold of his wrist, making Watson stop in his tracks.
“Stay right where you are, Watson. We need to talk.”

How Recliner Chair Is Your Leisure Partner
A Recliner (armchair or sofa) reclines when the owner lowers the chair's back and raises its front. It has a backrest that can be tilted back, and often a foot-rest that may be extended using a lever on the side of the chair, or may extend automatically when the back is reclined. Recliner chairs can be operated by a lever mechanism or manually by the owner. The manual recliner adjustments were done with the help of users pushing on the armrest while leaning back against the backrest. The owner then uses their body weight to make adjustments to the shape and extends the footrest. Electronic recliner chairs work from an electric motorized system controlled by a handset. You can choose between 1-3 motors, depending on how much movement you require. An electronic recliner chair with 3 motors will be able to adjust the leg-rest, and back-rest, and tilt the recliner in space to provide the best seating positions.
Tumblr media
Blessing in disguise:
Chairs usually are not comfortable. Our body tends to become tough, we get back pain, and sitting in posture makes our body a rigid structure. When we get up from it, we feel that disguise. The sore body won't let us forget that, but the Recliner is something every human and chair must be proud of.
Adding comfort to every sitting:
People want an easy chair in their living room that can support both their comfort and health. This type of adjustable chair can be the best addition to your interior design for many reasons that are of high worth and have a variety of features that can help you realize just how good a reclining chair could be. People also use it for their health issues back pain as well as pain in the legs which are common issues in old age people. Young people also use it for their comfort and satisfaction. People also enjoy their favorite shows, sports, news, etc. by sitting on a comfortable chair.
Provides different sitting positions:
If you use a wheelchair then you know that sitting in the same position all day, how painful it is for your body, leaves you with unwanted aches and pains. Recliner chairs allow you to comfortably lay or sit in a variety of positions, without having to move from the chair.
Reduced risk of pressure sores:
Staying in the same seated or lying position for a long period can lead to pressure sores, which can be enormously painful and take a long time to heal with risks of infections. A recliner chair provides the option to change your position, taking pressure off different parts of your body. This reduces the risk of developing pressure sores and will be comfortable for your body.
Made-to-measure for the perfect fit:
Recliner chairs can be built to fit the exact dimensions of your body, ensuring the most comfortable position for you at all times. For example, the ideal chair should allow you to sit with your feet flat on the floor, with legs at a 90-degree angle. Armrests should support your arms below the elbow comfortably, with a supportive but soft cushion. These factors can be important to ensure that your chair is comfortable for you while sitting and relaxing, and made-to-measure riser recliners guarantee you’ll have the right size for you.
Improved circulation:
People with mobility problems can find it hard to keep their bodies moving, which can often lead to several health problems that include poor circulation in the limbs. Recliner chairs provide the ability to move from one position to another at the touch of a button which ensures that your joints and body can do the adjustment of positions comfortably to improve the circulation to your body.
Aids standing and sitting:
Recliner chairs are designed to give support to you in standing up and sitting down. This can be very useful to those having disabilities or mobility issues, wherein this seemingly easy task can cause great difficulty and discomfort. Our recliner chairs are designed for your comfort, lift you safely into standing, and lower you into a seating position at the touch of a button.
Leisure we call desire, and recliners never fail in it, be either theatre or home recliner should be part of it because the most we can do is hard work and getting lethargic in it, not affordable. In my point of view, there should be recliners in every house and office. With Experience of 20+ years, EQUAL provides high-quality Recliner Chairs all over India at the best price. Equal provides different types of Recliner Chairs with different designs, good fabrics, and high quality to improve the comfort level of occupants.

Aching everywhere, despite hardly doing anything.
That's because the seizure ran riot around all my muscles without my knowledge.
I desperately need a long hot soak in the bath
But
Can't because of two things
Still nervous of being submerged whilst hubby is in a wheelchair. He panicked and forgot he only had one leg, so he managed to split the healing scar on his stump to try and get to me
And I really don't like the bath lift, it is very very uncomfortable and doesn't take my weight, despite me losing weight.
Apart from that,
Waiting for delivery of sofa and riser recliner chair, so we have cushions on the floor for Tommy.
He hates them and is in the huff because his favourite sofa has been taken apart and outside waiting to be disposed of
It had dropped right down and was beginning to be uncomfortable

*Patch Notes 8/22/23*
A lot has happened. Many improvements have been been made that probably deserve their own posts. Did a lot of back sliding, attempts at recovery, and more back sliding. Also kept forgetting this blog existed.
CURRENT GOALS:
Clean and organized apartment
Time and suitable environment to focus on art
Being caught up enough on responsibilities and housework that I can feel comfortable spending time on video games and anime
Making a less stressful environment for my cats
Time for and Accessibility of Proper Nutrition
Get to bed earlier
Get up when my alarm goes off
Toying with the idea of setting up an online shop for like stickers and junk
Stuff Done Yesterday & Today:
Clean and organized apartment
Stacked the white boards and cork boards that have been floating around the apartment since I moved in neatly behind the recliner in the living room. I won't have to move them again unless I'm (finally) putting them up.
Made progress cleaning in kitchen
Made progress cleaning in study
Slapped a label saying "SPARE PARTS" on a drawer of a plastic storage unit in my basement so, once I find where they are, all the little baggies of spare hardware/accessories/parts for various appliances and pieces of furniture (THAT I HAVE BEEN SO GOOOD AT LABELNG. WHERE ARE THEY?!) will have a home. Baggies Found: 5/??
Slapped a "MANUALS" label on another drawer so now I have a place for them too
Arranged the shelving units in the basement so I can actually see and access shit easily
Time and suitable environment to focus on art
Cleared off the folding table that's been piled with papers and junk for 6 months
Cleared off my desk
Cleared off most the floor of my study
Drew plans for a U-Shaped desk that I think would help. Not sure if I'm going for it. Won't have a chance to build it until late September anyway.
My current desk has a riser shelf that I took off a while ago, thinking it would give me more useable space (it did not). I have a worklight I bought at goodwill a couple weeks ago that I intended to use for a workbench I'm most likely not going to build. It just fits under the riser, but its power cord comes out the center of the back, which puts it at odds with the riser support bar. So I drilled a hole in the riser support bar. I don't think the bits I have are meant to be used on metal, but I got it to work somehow. And after some hack-sawing and filing, and some more hack sawing and filing because I didn't account for the nut at the base of the power cord, it works pretty well!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rearranged my furniture a bit. Trying an L-shaped desk set up
Being caught up enough on responsibilities and housework that I can feel comfortable spending time on video games and anime
Put on an episode of anime while eating lunch
Finally tumbled and folded the sheets that have been in the dryer for, like, two weeks
Washed a load of darks
Making a Less Stressful Environnment for my Cats
Cleared floor space in living room, kitchen and study
Moved chair I was going to donate back into kitchen so they can sit with me instead of me moving them off my chair
Making effort to clean/rearrange things in a calmer fashion so Maou freaks out less
Time for and Accessibility of Proper Nutrition
Washed a shit ton of dishes, focusing on the takeout containers I use for ready-made meals
Cleaned the fridge out. Got rid of food that had gone bad (oh god it was gross) and washed off spills
Made a start on organizing cabinets so I can find the dishes and containers need when i need them.
Cooked rice, chicken, and vegetables and arranged them in microwavable containers so I can h eat them quick later
Tumblr media
Get to bed earlier
Brought in water bottles from car and stocked under bed
Put empty water bottles in recycling
Cleared a bunch of stuff that's been covering the floor for ages
Moved my headboard power strip to the other side so I can have my white noise machine and bed lamp closer to my head
Get up when my alarm goes off
Set up an anime I really want to rewatch on DVD player in kitchen, so I can watch it while eating breakfast. Hoping this motivates me to get ouut of bed.
Logged into Crunchyroll on android box for the same reason. Looking for HiDive password.
Toying with the idea of setting up an online shop for like stickers and junk
Made a vague plan. Most of it depends on me actually neatly finishing art on purpose. Im good at making art. Finishing art neatly and on purpose are my weak points (My strong point is bullshit that looks pretty good). Should probably revisit this idea when I'm further along with "Time and suitable environment to focus on art"

Sleep Habits
Tumblr media
NAME: Rescue Ratchet RESIDENCE: Timeline dependent- Domus. Iacon. Jasper, Nevada. NUMBER OF BLANKETS: One, if any. Consists of a woven material comparable to a hardier form of vehicle cover on Earth. NUMBER OF PILLOWS: Timeline dependent- None. Two. Many. TYPE OF CLOTHING: Usually, none. Occasionally, a sleeveless house coat. DO THEY SLEEP WITH COMPANY?: Sometimes. May range from napping in near proximity to others or having someone laying on him or actually recharging next to friend. DO THEY SLEEP BETTER WITH COMPANY?: Depends on the company. He is not quite as relaxed when he has humans on him because he does not want to shift in his sleep and hurt them. Optimus, however, is an excellent pillow and guarantees better rest. DOES IT MATTER WHERE THEY SLEEP?: He certainly feels better later if he sleeps in appropriate positions instead of while standing or in a non-reclining chair. WHAT DO THEY DO IF THEY CANNOT FALL ASLEEP?: Work. Research. Conceptualize. Remember. FREQUENT DREAMS, NIGHTMARES: Dreaming is uncommon, and normally rooted in memories. The memories determine whether or not it qualifies as a nightmare, because Ratchet has endured many living nightmares in war. DEEP SLUMBER OR NAPS: Both, depending on what he can get/has time for. WHEN DO THEY SLEEP: He rarely has a consistent schedule. WHAT COULD WAKE THEM UP: If he is napping, low to medium noises can stir him. If he is sleeping deeply, medium to loud, especially if they resemble explosions, metal scraping, or shots. EARLY OR LATE RISER: Again, inconsistent schedule. But he will sleep in when he actually has the opportunities.

From Sunrise To Sunset – Enjoying The Pool All Through The Day
Tumblr media
In addition to being a location to unwind, a resort with a swimming pool extends an invitation to spend a day feeling refreshed, joyful, and peaceful. Whether you’re a solo traveller, a couple on a romantic retreat, or a family on vacation, a well-planned day around the pool can convert your resort stay into an amazing experience. This time-based plan will help you make the most of your day by the pool and make sure that every second, from sunrise to sunset, is just perfect.
6:00 AM — 8:00 AM: A peaceful swim with the rising sun
The ideal time to have a peaceful swim is right before the sun rises. As the sun rises, the peaceful early mornings by the pool provide an opportunity to commune with nature. There are less people around, and the surroundings are calm and the water feels good. This is the perfect time of day to enjoy a swim for early risers who want to start the day with more energy. Additionally, it offers the chance to get breathtaking sunrise images with water reflections. To ensure a smooth transition from your accommodation to the pool, bring your goggles and a lightweight robe.
8:00 AM — 9:00 AM: Breakfast by the pool
After swimming, enjoy a hearty breakfast in a comfortable lounge chair or a shaded cabana. Many resorts provide dining on by the pool, where you may savour exotic fruits, pastries, and fresh juices while taking in the sparkling water. Breakfast by the pool allows you to enjoy the morning sun and creates an inviting setting for the day.
9:00 AM — 11:00 AM: Time for some family fun
This is a great time for families to take their children to the pool. By now, the water is usually warm, and as more people join in, the environment gets livelier. Resorts frequently feature kid-friendly pools with sprinklers and water slides, or shallow areas. Introduce children to basic swimming skills, enjoy traditional pool games like water volleyball or Marco Polo, and unwind on vibrant pool floats while taking amusing pictures.
11:00 AM — 1:00 PM: The perfect time to sunbathe
The poolside turns into a sun-seeker’s paradise when dawn gives way to noon. Let the warm rays do their magic while you recline on a lounge chair. To stay cool, alternate between relaxing and taking a plunge in the pool. Enjoy pleasant beverages like iced tea, lemonade, or mocktails while reading a nice book, enjoying your favourite album, or listening to a podcast. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen, put on sunglasses, and wear a wide-brimmed hat.
1:00 PM — 2:00 PM: Lunch time
After enjoying the sun, take a break and have a leisurely lunch in a shady spot. Many resorts provide poolside service or have restaurants close to the pool. Perfect lunch options include fresh wraps or sandwiches with fries, light salads with grilled chicken or seafood, and cold drinks like sangria or coconut water.
2:00 PM — 4:00 PM: Quiet time by the pool
Couples or lone travellers can enjoy the pool in relative peace during this time. The pool area will be quieter if families with kids go inside for a sleep or other activities. Enjoy a mini-spa treatment with a foot soak or self-massage, take a leisurely swim to revitalize your senses, or simply relax with your feet submerged in the water.
4:00 PM — 6:00 PM: Socializing and drinking by the pool
The pool becomes a bustling gathering place as the afternoon wears on. This is a fantastic opportunity to socialize with other travellers or have cocktails by the pool with your companions. Savour light appetizers like bruschetta, nachos, or fruit skewers with tropical fruit mocktails, piña coladas, or mojitos. Take part in group activities or games that the resort has planned, and while the sun is casting a mystical glow, capture some golden-hour pictures.
6:00 PM — 8:00 PM: Evening swim with the setting sun
The pool area has a calm, romantic atmosphere as the day comes to an end. It’s a beautiful time to unwind in the water or by the shore as the sun sets, painting the sky in shades of pink and orange. Couples can enjoy a romantic moment while floating together during a pleasant and peaceful swim in the evening.
8:00 PM — 9:00 PM: Poolside dinner

Are Stairlifts Worth the Investment for Home Accessibility
Tumblr media
As we age or face mobility challenges, ensuring our homes remain safe and accessible becomes increasingly important. One solution that has gained popularity in recent years is the installation of stairlifts. But are stairlifts worth the investment for home accessibility? Let's explore the benefits, considerations, and overall value of stairlifts in making homes more accessible.
Understanding Stairlifts
Stairlifts are mechanical devices designed to help individuals with limited mobility navigate stairs safely. They consist of a chair or platform that moves along a track, allowing users to ascend and descend stairs without physical strain. For many, stairlifts provide a practical solution to a common problem: how to maintain independence while living in a multi-level home.
Benefits of Stairlifts
Enhanced Safety: One of the primary advantages of stairlifts is the increased safety they provide. Falls on stairs can lead to serious injuries, particularly for older adults. Stairlifts reduce the risk of these accidents, giving peace of mind to both users and their families.
Increased Independence: Stairlifts empower individuals to move freely throughout their homes. Instead of relying on family members or caregivers for assistance, users can independently navigate their living spaces, which can significantly enhance their quality of life.
Home Value: Installing a stairlift can increase the value of your home. As more families seek to accommodate aging relatives, homes equipped with accessibility features, such as stairlifts, can become more appealing to potential buyers.
Cost-Effective Alternative: Compared to moving to a single-story home or renovating an existing space, stairlifts often present a more cost-effective solution for enhancing accessibility. The investment in a stairlift can be significantly less than the costs associated with relocation or major renovations.
Considerations Before Investing
While the benefits of stairlifts are compelling, it's essential to consider a few factors before making a decision:
Cost of Installation: Stairlifts come with varying price points, influenced by the model, features, and the complexity of installation. Researching options and budgeting for the investment is crucial.
Space Requirements: Before installation, assess the space where the stairlift will be placed. Some staircases may require modifications, which can add to the overall cost.
Maintenance: Like any mechanical device, stairlifts require regular maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation. Factor in potential maintenance costs when considering your investment.
User Comfort and Preference: It’s essential to choose a stairlift that meets the user's needs and comfort. Some models offer additional features such as swivel seats, powered footrests, and custom designs.
Conclusion
Investing in a stairlift can be a game-changer for home accessibility. At A6 Mobility Shop, we understand the importance of creating safe and welcoming environments for everyone, regardless of mobility challenges. Our range of stairlifts combines quality, safety, and comfort to meet your specific needs.
Ultimately, the decision to invest in a stairlift should be based on individual circumstances, but for many, the benefits far outweigh the costs. With the right solution, stairlifts can help maintain independence, improve safety, and enhance the overall quality of life for individuals facing mobility challenges.
If you're considering making your home more accessible, visit A6 Mobility Shop to explore our selection of stairlifts and find the perfect fit for your needs.

A Comprehensive Guide to Furniture Risers
Furniture risers are an often-overlooked accessory that can significantly enhance your living space by improving both functionality and comfort. Whether you’re looking to create additional storage space underneath your furniture or simply want to elevate your seating to a more comfortable height, furniture risers are a practical solution. If you wish to know more about looking for furniture risers online, explore a series of options.
In this blog, we'll focus on various aspects you need to know about getting the right furniture risers for your home, with a focus on the high-quality options offered by Ezer-Up.
Why Consider Furniture Risers?
Furniture risers serve multiple purposes, making them a versatile addition to any home. Here are a few key reasons why you might consider using them:
Increased Storage Space: By elevating your furniture, you create additional storage space underneath, perfect for storing items like boxes, shoes, or other household essentials.
Improved Accessibility: Raising the height of your furniture can make it easier to get in and out of chairs, couches, or beds, which is particularly beneficial for the elderly or those with mobility issues.
Enhanced Cleaning Access: Elevating furniture can make it easier to clean under sofas, chairs, and beds, reducing the buildup of dust and allergens.
Protecting Flooring: Furniture risers can help prevent the legs of your furniture from scratching or denting your floors, especially if you have hardwood or tile flooring.
Ezer-Up Furniture Risers: A Top Choice for Your Home
When it comes to choosing furniture risers, quality and durability are paramount. Ezer-Up offers a top-notch solution with their stationary risers, designed specifically to support furniture up to 40" (102cm) wide, measured from front to back. These risers are not only easy to install but also work great on a wide variety of furniture types, including couches, loveseats, sofas, and chairs.
Key Features of Ezer-Up Furniture Risers
When it comes to focusing on the features of the furniture designers, you should explore a series of options. Here are some of the ideas you should focus on:
Stationary Design: Ezer-Up furniture risers are stationary, meaning they stay securely in place once installed. This feature ensures that your furniture remains stable and balanced, without any risk of wobbling or shifting.
Wide Compatibility: These risers are suitable for furniture up to 40" (102cm) wide, making them ideal for a broad range of seating options, from small chairs to larger sofas.
Easy Installation: One of the standout features of Ezer-Up furniture risers is their ease of installation. You don’t need any special tools or expertise to set them up. Simply position them under the legs of your furniture, and you’re good to go!
Versatile Use: These risers are incredibly versatile and can be used on almost any couch, loveseat, sofa, or chair, provided the furniture fits within the specified dimensions.
How to Choose the Right Furniture Risers?
When selecting furniture risers, it’s important to consider the following factors to ensure you make the right choice for your home:
Measure Your Furniture: Before purchasing risers, measure the width of your furniture from front to back. This will help you select risers that are compatible with your furniture’s dimensions. Ezer-Up risers, for example, are designed for furniture up to 40" (102cm) wide.
Consider the Furniture Type: While Ezer-Up risers work well with a wide range of furniture, they are not recommended for use with sectionals or swivel chairs. However, they are perfect for sofas with single (1-person) or double (2-person) recliners.
Height Preference: Determine how much you want to elevate your furniture. Risers come in various heights, so choose one that meets your specific needs for comfort and functionality.
Check Weight Capacity: Ensure that the risers you choose can support the weight of your furniture. Ezer-Up risers are built to handle standard furniture weights, making them a reliable option for most households.
Installation Tips
Installing furniture risers is typically a straightforward process, but following these tips can help ensure a smooth installation:
Prepare the Area: Before installing the risers, clear the area around your furniture and ensure the floor is clean to avoid trapping dirt or debris under the risers.
Lift with Care: When lifting your furniture to place the risers underneath, enlist the help of another person if the item is heavy or cumbersome. This will prevent injury and ensure even placement of the risers.
Check for Stability: After installation, double-check that each riser is securely positioned and that the furniture is stable. Sit on or gently rock the furniture to confirm it’s balanced and doesn’t wobble.
Final Thoughts
Furniture risers are a simple yet effective way to enhance your living space. By choosing high-quality options like those from Ezer-Up, you can enjoy the benefits of increased comfort, improved accessibility, and additional storage space.
Whether you’re looking to elevate a couch, loveseat, or chair, Ezer-Up’s stationary furniture risers provide a reliable solution that’s easy to install and compatible with a variety of furniture types. To know more about getting sofa risers online, explore a series of options.
