Hi everyone! I am so thrilled at the day we had yesterday. I made new friends who are interested in connecting to hearing about all the amazing reiki, healing and tarot work being done by gifted people in Brooklyn, I opened three boxes of goodies including this wrap skirt in black and white and an off the shoulder long black romper that I hope will be a new summer uniform, and I had a guy come in and get one of our freshly restocked #rippatriarchy shirts with serious conviction bc he saw it hanging on the door. I had a wonderful visit from an old friend who I have known since I was 20, visits from friends I don't get to see very often and lastly my sweet bestie took me to see animal collective at brooklyn steel, which I must say, is a killer venue. Listing some gratitudes as a practice, I suppose. And lastly, I am so happy to be rereading the four agreements, which has slowed me down, inspired me to get real with myself and opened me up to all the possibilities of what it means to be the author of the story in your mind. Got trolled SO HARD by Hannah Rosin's excerpt on Slate today. Apparently women make almost as much as men, they really prefer to work lower-paying, menial jobs, and hey, most of her female critics got to go to college, so what exactly are they complaining about?

The fact that I went to college, have prescription birth control coverage, and get to work in a fancy office building in NYC doesn't say shit about the "patriarchy." The fact that my two female coworkers and I made a conscious choice this afternoon to patronize the juice vendor who doesn't verbally harass us says a lot more.
