Hap birth to one of my favourite OCs ever, Seeker/Caspian! (and the only one with an actual assigned birthday so I figured I'd post something for the occasion)

This lad was born in Wildstar (RIP) a number of years ago, and to my continued astonishment and delight has subsequently made his way into other games right alongside me: Fallout 4, SWTOR, Secret World, ESO, and most recently Baldur's Gate; and if all feels right he's my top pick to be my newest Dragon Age protagonist in a few days.

While Seeker's certainly surprised me with how he adapts to each new setting (SWTOR Cas would be a little horrified by how Cypher's turned out, and Seeker was NEVER supposed to have pointy ears and then BG3 happened), he's always managed to maintain some key his core traits - logic, defiance, a need for answers and a knack for cracking codes, and always a refusal to allow any higher power to dictate his own destiny. Not to mention getting his left hand fucked up in every single universe, because his player said so.

Anyway, I adore this lad, and I'm looking forward to many more years of Seeker shenanigans!

The ONLY MMO I've played that had better writing AT LAUNCH was Star Wars: the Old Republic.

ARR seems cringe and bad *in hindsight*, compared to Shadowbringers. Stop telling people it's bad. It's actually pretty damn good.

So I been watching KND since I was kid, I recently got into Jojo's Bizarre Adventures and watching Part 2 of JJBA for the first time was hard to take seriously because THE VOICE OF THE MAIN CHARACTER

WAS NIGEL UNO!! THE SAME VOICE ACTOR I COULDN'T TAKE IT SERIOUSLY- (well I did eventually because it has heart wrenching moments) but the parts where Joseph being hilarious I just go back to imagining him as an adult Nigel Uno xD

he's also in some of my favorite games, Tales of Zesteria and Berseria (the latter one I never finished) Rune Factory 4, Wildstar (RIP that game was fun while the servers were alive 💔) and looks like some fire emblem games too!

It's so funny when you can catch voice actors in other shows when you know them for something else, the one that always catches me off guard is Mr Rob Paulsen. After rewatching animaniacs I started hearing Paulsen's voice EVERYWHERE.

also kind of related but Wally's voice actor is also in a lot of other things including Appa and Momo in Avatar, that's so wild to me lmao.

Mad respect to voice actors, man!

RIP Wildstar. You could have been great. (Honestly I mostly miss the feature of being able to design an entire massive home instance. FFXIV's is way too inaccessible, SWTOR lacks creativity, Palia so far is scratching that itch but needs more time for development)

The very first screenshots I took of WildStar, during one of the closed betas way back in 2014 (2015? Can’t remember).

Hilariously, I hated the female character models so much that I sent a message to Carbine telling them I simply couldn’t bring myself to play the game any further. Imagine my joy when they announced body type options!

apparently the director who was a wow and wildstar stan left riot so now theyre gonna try and fix the shit i was making fun of them for. props to them for noticing the shit i noticed i guess? wanting to "evolve the genre" is something mmos do desperately need but also this is still riot, the company that just rips off other games, so i dont think theyre actually gonna do anything significantly different.

so because i keep track of every sizeable mmo that is going to exist, ive been seeing stuff about the as of now unnamed riot mmo and seeing some embarassing fucking interviews about what its gonna be like, and im 98% sure its gonna be a wowclone based on whats been said.

previously, back when i was posting on twitter, i thought that the game was most likely just gonna be a flop aside from the weird niche that encompasses riot fans who for some reason arent playing wow and ff14 is too cutesy and nice and not horny enough for them. but uhhh. then wow shut down in china lol.

i think if blizz cant get wow back up WITH ALL SAVES IN TACT then riots wowclone will probably find decent success there. which is a shame because id like to see riot fail for making the mistake of thinking the mmo industry is willing to tolerate their whole schtick of "copy another videogame but make it more horny". it worked for valorant because theres no real alternatives aside from csgo, but making another fucking wowclone is such a fucking ancient tactic that youd never be able to compete in a country with both wow AND the single wowkiller online
