I mean. Thats a good analogy for them, and I know this is an old conversation so things could have changed, but to me it just feels weird to say that they could only ever be enemies who hate and want to kill each other, especially when Varus and Naafiri have shown that Darkin are capable of changing and growing as people and we know Kayn deep down is incredibly lonely and fragile. Not to mention their gameplay is about multiple possibilities, the way you play decides if Kayn or Rhaast wins, so to not acknowledge that there could be even more possibilities feels like missed potential, no matter if it's as far as full Rhaayn romance, friendship, or even just an amicable separation.

Well at least this is exactly what fanfiction is for, seeing the potential for something canon will never do and writing it yourself!

one thing im glad riot altered about kayn’s writing, though indirectly, was that zed IS his father figure 100% confirmed because zed sees kayn as his son the same way he viewed kusho as his own father. i am forever upset coolradius stating kayn is bi wasn’t kept in his canon (or atleast has never been bought up again since he confirmed it on twitter) but him half-confirming kayn has a crush on zed despite zed y’know...raising kayn always felt very uncomfortable
