My (not QUITE spoilery, but slightly) pieces for the first @dpxdcbigbang fic I drew for, @holdm2's Bottom of the Boxcar (+ FFN link), which has just started posting! 💚

I did the three-panel illustration first because I thought it was just such a good and painful scene and such a good part of the fic, but that Johnny and Jason bit would NOT leave me alone and honestly wound up my favorite part overall, so when we got a little extra time on our deadline I took FULL advantage of it to draw that too, haha.

Bonus concept sketches in various stages of "concept"-ing behind the cut, including sketches of a couple of scenes I didn't end up drawing.

god I love this so much, I accidentally left the reblog in my drafts for way too long because Life Happened, but now we are correcting that error and getting it ON MY BLOG WHERE IT BELONGS.

There is so much to adore in this art, but my favorite parts are Billy and Kon wrasslin' with the dinosaur skeleton, that GORGEOUS-ass planet-viewing, and the lil' cranky Batman silhouette, haha.

( is lil' cranky Batman more annoyed that the Watchtower now needs a new window or that Green Lantern and Flash are both being so dang dramatic about a measly unexpected high-velocity impact from nowhere that could've depressurized the whole meeting room and sucked half the League out into the vacuum of space?? god, Jordan, get a grip, it's like we don't do this shit every friggin' weekend. )

I wanted to try to visualize the crypid robin costume a bit. I did NOT check any of the descriptions at already exist I kinda just winged it so I doubt its very accurate to what you had in mind but it was a fun character design project. He introduces you to his son, Experiment Thirteen, who he refers to as 'it', which is still not the most blatant example of rich men shitting on their kids you've observed recently so you don't linger on it. 1/3

The reason Metropolis throws in enormous amounts of support and media attention at Superman is mostly so as to help fill the gaping pit of the infrastructure damage budget their weekly clashes cause with tourism money, so naturally your host's nemesis, Superman, also shows up. You tense up, expecting to be a casualty in the insane match of wannabe demigods, except this is FiNe and DON'T PAY HIM ANY MIND, HE DOESN'T NEED THE ENCOURAGEMENT. 2/3 Up close, 13 sure looks like a mini alien, which is Not Your Problem. You suddenly remember that all of Luthor's engagements and marriages ended with him narrowly escaping a murder attempt from his partner. This is FINE and no reason for further speculation. 3/3
