Okay, so we didn't get an update today, but given what dev has said in the blog, I think I can predict what's coming to the game.
I'll be quoting what dev says in the list below then speculating about any upcoming changes. Remember, this is mostly speculative, not definitive.

"1980's Mode Rivals are going to be much harder to eliminate"
Most likely, this is referring to the change where 1980's rivals are never going to be alone. As that would make them harder to eliminate.

"Many new types of Challenge Runs are going to be possible"
I belive this is referring to the difficulty creator

He did then state that the new update add tons of replayability to the game. Having fun with a different challenge run would definitely do that.
"You won't be able to abuse the game's most broken and and imbalanced mechanic anymore"
He's definitely talking about garbage bags.

"One mechanic changed so drastically that I had to update the 1980's mode tutorial to reflect this."
Dev has proposed ideas about how to balance the garbage bag mechanic, y'know, there being a limit to how many of them you can use, you needing to craft body bags etc.
I think that the change to the tutorial might explain how to make bodybags and how that stuff works.
"If you love it when the game gets updated with new tasks, then you're really going to love this next update."
Maybe this is referring to the 1980's rivals having their own tasks

This only assuming that this can be handled without any new assets, but I don't think dev could be referring to anything else.
I have had other predictions for the next update, but I don't have much time left to write this, so for now I'll left it off here.

Headcannon: Due to her xenophobia of Americans, Aija doesn't trust mfs named "Hudson"
In her opinion it's one of the most american names someone could be named.
She often gets the mental image of the color white upon hearing the name. That or y'know.. Seiyo.
She feels the same about names such as Becky, Brittany, Cindy.
She just can't understand what american people are thinking in giving their kids these Starbucks order names.

I have the headcannon that part of the reason why Ritsuko likes sunbathing so much is due to a vitamin D deficiency.
She has pretty pale skin for someone who's in the sun a lot.
I imagine her having a literal glass ceiling in her room.

I really love the idea of taro treating megami like a normal person as opposed to a flawless being with an iron fist. Not in a belittling way, but in a way that megami would find refreshing and endearing, and kinda cute, though I don't think she would flat out say it.

I would never necessarily just rewrite an entire character.
I would instead do my take on them. Keep the core aspects and integral parts of a character, but put my own spin on it.
I did the same with my uniform redesigns, I kept the main lore of the uniform intact, but gave it a unique flare.
I actually have some vague ideas for designs and some stories. It should be fun!
Keyword: Fun
Not out of spite towards dev because the game took to long and you wanna reclaim these characters and get headpats from r/Urethra r/Osana

One time I was playing the for the genocide ending, and I decided that I wanted to use a strategy I saw on a speedrun video of distracting aoi, shiromi and kuroko with an item from home and sneak attacking them with the fire extinguisher as they leave the council room.
It took a while for me to get the strategy down and I kept failing. I remember after getting pepper sprayed by kuroko (again) I, in real life, flipped off my computer screen in pure rage because I was sick of losing.
That was funny.

I've had this neat little idea for a hypothetical character arc for megami.
So we all know that megami was pretty much born and raised to eventually hold the mantle of CEO of saikou corp.
I mean her dad literally forced her to kill a pet hamster she had because it "served no purpose to saikou corp." or whatever.
Well, what if Saikou Corp was shut down?
I imagine megami feeling pretty lost and not sure of what to do from that point. The thing that she has been built up to take over; gone.
Leaving her feeling as if she lacks purpose and not sure as to who actually she is. Though, I imagine the council members helping through it.
As for how the rest of the saikou family would feel, I had not thought about that yet..
Though, as for her little brother (can't remember his name right now) I feel like he'd also feel lost given his sibling rivalry with her.
Being perfect to take over the company was the thing that would earn "Daddy's approval" and with that being gone, I feel there would be no reason for there to be any bad blood between them causing to grow as siblings.
Maybe that can get into contact with their aunt, ichiko and be a happy, worthless family.
I don't know, my ideas are kinda dumb anyway lmao.
