the one with the flowers. i need that ficlet.
HI BABE!!! FLOWERS!!!!!
y'all mentioned sunflowers being charles' fav flower on anna's bday fic and now that will be my headcanon forever, so have this little ficlet in return 💖💖 i hope u like itttt
"i brought you flowers." "for what?" "there has to be a reason?"
It all starts with a stupid interview - one of those TikTok things for the F1 page, asking unconventional interview questions.
“What’s your favorite flower?”
“Huh.” Charles had looked deep in thought, brows furrowed and lips pursed. Utterly adorable, like always. The backdrop of the bright pink flowers in the Singapore paddock made his green eyes pop. “Sunflowers, I think.”
And it made Pierre pause because -
Even after so many years, he doesn’t know everything about Charles. This silly video that Ilies had sent him with many laughing emojis - mostly because it also contains a diss at Pierre’s football skills - has revealed a truth about his boyfriend he never knew and, most importantly, that he never even bothered to ask. A twinge of guilt twists a way in his stomach because Charles deserves the best - he deserves someone that cares about what his favorite flower is and someone who won’t give him generic flower bouquets.
That’s why he ends up at Charles’ doorstep in Monaco carrying a sunflower bouquet he can barely fit in his arms, when he most definitely should be in Milan preparing to train with Ben. Pierre might have gotten a little carried away, he’ll admit.
“Hello?” Charles asks over the intercom after Pierre rings the doorbell, a little confused. Maybe he should’ve texted ahead, Pierre thinks.
Pierre puts on his deepest voice as he answers. “Special delivery for Charles Leclerc.”
He doesn’t expect that to work, but Charles buzzes him in so Pierre rides the elevator up to his apartment. A wave of doubt washes over Pierre, but he trudges ahead and knocks on Charles’ apartment door. “Delivery!” he repeats in that deep voice.
When the door flies open, Pierre hears Charles gasp of surprise and he just about melts into the floor in a pile of goo. He loves him - he loves him so much. “Oh my god, Pierre.”
“Hi, calamar.” He tries to poke his head out from between the stems, but he’s mostly unsuccessful. “I brought you flowers.”
“For what? Shouldn’t you be in Milan right now?” His words are formatted like a reprimand, but his tone is more emotional than anything.
“Does there have to be a reason? Can’t I just be a good boyfriend?”
Can’t it just be because I love you and you deserve good things?
Pierre thinks that but he doesn’t say it because this thing between them is still fairly new and raw and growing - they haven’t said I love you as a couple yet but Pierre can reel it in and wait, because he wants to give this time and he has known Charles is the big love of his life since he was about thirteen, so he’s not worried. He hopes that for now the sunflowers will be enough to communicate to Charles how he feels - I love you, I care about you, you’re my sun.
“You are the best boyfriend,” Charles answers, a little choked up. “It’s beautiful, thank you Pear. Now come in and set the flowers down so I can kiss you stupid, yeah?”
“Nothing would make me happier.” Charles giggles at Pierre’s words and grabs his wrist to lead him inside, sending sparks flying up his arm. When he finally manages to set the flowers down on the table, Charles kisses him and walks them backwards into his bedroom.
“Sunflowers are my favorite, you know?” Charles muses after, in a post orgasm haze. Charles has a hand splayed across Pierre’s chest and his head tucked in his boyfriend’s neck, content and relaxed.
“I know.”
Charles doesn’t give a verbal answer, he just lifts his head and squints at Pierre. When Pierre chuckles guiltily, knowing he has probably clocked on to him listening to the interview, Charles just lets his head fall and cuddles back into Pierre with a quiet hum.

We had a guy show up at my house and demand to fight me because he claims I was on facebook making fun of his sister. This went on for a while. He couldn't tell me anything about ghe profile picture of the person doing it, or what I said, or when I did it. But she was upset and he wanted to fightme over it, because he "hacked the satelites" and it was the guy in my house making fun of her.
There's about a hundred security camera options that allow better choice of coverage over the ring doorbells straight out from your front wall option. Cameras up high pointing down at the stairs to the door are a personal favorite.
There are companies out there who don't have the "sell access to your videos to cops without warrants" accusations that Ring has. Some of them even still offer to keep all your videos saved at home instead of being cloud based.
But guess what product got advertised first when my wife decided to look up securuty systems.
Guess what app wants me to view every instance of motion outside my home like some kind of psychopath. It will not dismiss notifications until I access videos. I work nights, we have it set to ignore everything more than three feet past our steps during my sleep cycle. A truck goes by, I get an alarm. The mailmain stays in one spot just a little to long? Alarm. There's a waterline break and a worker in a high vis vest walks all the way up to my door, stops to dig in a pouch, and puts a "don't drink the water until 5pm" hanger on my doorknob? Nothing. Didn't even know it was there.
Not only does it record an alarming amount of stupid little stuff, it doesn't record the people actually coming up to your door until they've already had time to interact with your door the way they want to. My wife has had doordash put food right up against the door and not set it off. We ate cold food a half hour late because there was no doordash notification and the "security" system didn't let us know someone left bags by our door.
If someone offered me two cameras in the corners of my porch and an intercom by the door that I had to install and setup data storage for myself, I'd take it. The only thing keeping me from replacing the ring doorbell is the cost.
is it okay if i ask what the issue with ring doorbell cameras are? i was under the impression that they were helpful for stuff like potential crimes/lawsuits, safety from police misconduct, and protection from people who are there to harass/cause harm to a home owner. what downsides could they have that outweighs the potential good they can do?
(x) Sometimes the people with the cameras...are the ones harassing people. They're a tool: They don't have a moral alignment. I'm sure people with good reasons to surveil their neighborhoods exist, but I have only personally encountered people who really really want an excuse to call the cops on one of their neighbors.
That said, I didn't say it was amoral to have a ring camera. I said it was creep behavior. It's creepy. I just dislike it. I don't like that if I take my coffee out on the front stoop without a bra on at six a.m. three different wealthy older couples I have literally never spoken to are recording it. I don't like that an increasing number of people consider it acceptable behavior to introduce themselves by saying they've noticed while reviewing their RING CAMERA(tm) that you walk your dog every morning at 10:45 but stopped recently. I don't like being flagged down by strangers who are like, "Yesterday someone stole the change out of my car cupholders, and I notice you walked past my driveway yesterday evening.... Why is that?" and having to laugh charmingly and explain my schedule to them because if I don't they're going to try to send police to my house. I did not enjoy humoring the across the street neighbor as she scrubbed through one of her multiple exterior camera feeds on her phone trying to find the culprit who moved her doormat and discovering that it captured my ENTIRE deck until she landed on a frame that finally had some suspicious figures in it and started to get excited until I pointed out that they were us at the beginning of the conversation we were still having.
It just makes me uncomfortable. I have no obligation to think kindly about people who haven't been personally been weird at me yet who ~may or may not~ be deleting most of their surveillance footage without watching it. It's my opinion that recording everybody who walks down your street is a dick move; it's not neutral behavior to degrade people's privacy in shared spaces, and the cons of doing this don't go away if the pros outweigh them.
It's like watching loud videos on your phone on the bus--you don't have to be doing something evil to make some of the people around you passionately hate your guts. If I made anybody feel uncomfortable about having a ring camera that was on purpose. Really just not a fun luxury item people get their grandparents for Christmas I'm a fan of.

7 Essential Tips for Choosing the Perfect Intercom for Your Home
An intercom system can enhance the security and convenience of your home, allowing you to communicate easily between rooms or with visitors at the front door. With a wide range of options available, picking the right intercom system can feel overwhelming. All the things you want should be checked by a professional to ensure you are making the right choice because the intercom requires careful consideration of your home’s unique needs. Before getting intercom installation Sydney services, here are some tips for choosing the perfect intercom for your home:
Assess Your Needs
The first thing you need to do is assess your needs and determine if you need audio-only or video capabilities based on the level of security you desire. If security is a primary concern, assessing your needs guides you choose an intercom system that integrates with your security setup, such as adding video surveillance, motion detection, or integration with smart locks. The system also comes in a wide range of prices depending on their features and complexity. Understanding your specific needs helps you avoid overspending on features you will not use.
Check the Intercom’s Range
The intercom you will install must cover all areas of your home, including outdoor spaces like the driveway or backyard. For larger homes, gardens, or multi-story buildings, a longer-range intercom is necessary to maintain communication between distant areas. If the range is insufficient, parts of your property may be out of reach. Wireless intercom systems rely on signal strength to communicate between units. A weak range could cause poor performance or limit the usability of wireless units in certain parts of your home.
Wired vs. Wireless
You must decide whether a wired or wireless system is better for your home layout and renovation plans. Each type has distinct advantages and limitations that can impact the installation, performance, and long-term usability of the system. Wired systems provide a permanent, reliable solution that’s often integrated during construction or renovation. It also provides a consistent, uninterrupted signal that does not degrade over time or due to environmental factors.
Wireless ones are easier and quicker to install, making it more cost-effective and less disruptive, especially for retrofitting older homes. It also offers flexibility in placement and mobility but may experience occasional interference or weaker signals in certain areas of the home.
Two-Way Communication
Before installing an intercom, ensure the system lets clear two-way communication between rooms or between the front door and inside. It allows you to speak directly with visitors at your door or gate before granting them access. This is especially important for screening unknown visitors, delivery personnel, or service workers. Two-way communication systems are often compatible with smart home automation features, such as integrating with security cameras, doorbells, or locking systems.
Mobile App Support
In this generation, smartphones will always be a part of the lives of people. So, opt for a system with mobile app control, allowing you to monitor and communicate even when you are away. The app allows you to monitor and control your intercom system remotely, whether you are at home, at work, or travelling. You can see and communicate with visitors at your door, grant access, or manage the system from anywhere. Also, you can receive instant notifications when someone rings the doorbell or triggers motion detection. This real-time alert feature ensures that you are aware of what is happening around your home, even when you are not there.
Night Vision (for Video Systems)
If you prefer a video intercom instead of the audio one, you must guarantee that it has night vision. It allows you to see visitors, delivery personnel, or suspicious individuals at your door, even in complete darkness. It enhances home security by ensuring that you can monitor and verify visitors at night, reducing the risk of intrusions or unauthorised access when visibility is low.
Ease of Installation
Whether doing a DIY setup or hiring a professional, select a system that is easy to install, or budget for professional installation if needed. It may also involve drilling, running cables through walls, or modifying the home’s structure, which can cause significant disruption, especially in a finished or older home.
Choosing the right intercom system for your home involves balancing your security needs, personal preferences, and budget. By considering these factors, you can make an informed decision that enhances the safety and convenience of your living space. All the best in finding an intercom system that fits seamlessly into your home and lifestyle!

Enhancing Security with a Video Door Entry System
In an era where security and convenience are paramount, the video door entry system has become a vital component of modern homes and businesses. This technology allows property owners to monitor and control who enters their premises by using video surveillance integrated with door entry controls. Whether for a residential building, office, or gated community, installing a video door entry system offers a layer of security that traditional doorbell systems cannot match.
What is a Video Door Entry System?
A video door entry system is a security solution that enables two-way communication between the person at the door and the occupant, along with a live video feed. This setup typically includes a camera, a speaker, a microphone, and a monitor inside the building. When someone approaches the entrance and rings the bell, the camera captures a live feed, allowing the occupant to see and speak to the visitor before deciding whether to grant access.
Some video door entry systems also integrate with smartphones, allowing users to monitor and control access even when they're away from the property. This is particularly useful for homeowners who want to ensure their premises are secure, as well as for businesses that require controlled access for employees and visitors.
Benefits of a Video Door Entry System
Enhanced Security: One of the primary advantages of a video door entry system is the added security it provides. Instead of relying on just an audio-based intercom or peephole, this system gives you a visual confirmation of who is at your door. This added layer of verification helps prevent unauthorized access and improves the overall security of your premises.
Convenience: With a video door entry system, you can easily screen visitors without physically opening the door. This is especially beneficial for larger properties or buildings with multiple occupants. The convenience extends further with systems that offer remote access via smartphone, allowing you to monitor your door even when you're away.
Deterrence of Criminal Activity: The mere presence of a video door entry system acts as a deterrent to potential burglars or intruders. Knowing they are being recorded makes unauthorized individuals think twice before attempting to enter a property.
Seamless Communication: The two-way audio communication feature in a video door entry system allows for clear and instant communication between the visitor and the person inside. This can be beneficial for delivery personnel, guests, or service workers, helping streamline entry procedures without compromising security.
Increased Property Value: In addition to boosting security, installing a video door entry system can also enhance the value of your property. Buyers and renters often prioritize properties that come equipped with advanced security features, making it an attractive investment.
Choosing the Right Video Door Entry System
When choosing a video door entry system, it's important to consider factors such as video quality, ease of installation, and whether the system offers remote access via mobile devices. Other considerations include whether the system is compatible with your existing door locks or gate controls and if it offers features like night vision or motion detection.
Additionally, you’ll want to assess whether the system is scalable, especially if you're considering it for a business or multi-tenant property. Some video door entry systems are designed to handle multiple entry points and users, making them ideal for apartment buildings or offices with high traffic.
Conclusion
In today’s security-conscious world, a video door entry system is an invaluable tool for ensuring the safety and convenience of your home or business. With features like live video monitoring, two-way communication, and remote access, this technology provides peace of mind and greater control over who gains entry to your premises. Investing in a video door entry system not only enhances your property’s security but also adds to its value and appeal.
By integrating a video door entry system into your property’s security plan, you can significantly improve safety while enjoying the convenience of modern technology.

The Carol of the (door) Bells
No matter what happens, there's always going to be porch pirates. I bought a Ring doorbell in 2017 that lasted to this year. A few weeks ago, some violent rando went through the complex and bashed every video doorbell he could find before the cops showed up. It's not a bad neighborhood, but there are elements. I was looking at a new Ring when this popped up in my search results.
(Note: I do not get compensated for this.)
Blink Video Doorbell
At the time it was $29.99 (it went back up to $59.99 for Black Friday/Cyber Monday - tsktsk Amazon) and I looked at my budget. Okeydokey. I ordered it with a steel case that attaches around the door as anti-theft and protection. It's solid and simple. I unboxed and set it up in just a few minutes with just the wi-fi password. Just like with Ring, if you have traffic, you're going to get an alert for every car, bike, walker, and wildlife crossing the motion detector. It's worked perfectly. Since I had budgeted for a Ring, I still had money left on my Amazon gift card, so I went in and-
Amazon, you need to be ashamed of yourself, for real.
-and found two indoor security cameras and a Sync 2 module for $59.99 - raised for Black Friday and Cyber Monday to $139.99. Again, super easy to set up, and the Sync module gives you the option to install a 256GB USB flash drive for recording. However, the cloud plans are as cheap as $3.00 per month/$30.00 per year for just the doorbell, you get 30 days free. Both cams work great, but I need to kittyproof them. I thought they were out of reach, but after testing the intercom function - they were not.
You need iOS 14 or Android 6 to download and operate the Blink app, so make sure your phone is compatible.

Headcanons for Prince Lestat era/Trinity Gate Armand & Louis? I'm very invested in their grandpa adventures in NY
Anything for you ❤️❤️❤️
They drop insane dollars on museum patronage (top tier memberships at the Met don't come cheap). They also have a bougie af private art collection unavailable to the public. These things do not conflict in their minds.
On the subject of ~philanthropy~, they both have a vested interest in children's charities, especially those for orphans and abused children. It's the only kind of charity work Armand is interested in and something Louis has been doing since Claudia’s death in her name.
(Armand also does hands-on activism by feeding on any pedophiles or child abusers he comes across in the area. Gotta keep the community safe. He's the only predator on the block, and the good kind. Louis is committed to not discriminating in his feeding habits, but he does quietly approve.)
They are homoerotic besties (Armand wants it to be just homoerotic but to no real avail) and also old, so they have a Boring Married Couple Date Schedule. Louis refuses to commit to more than two official recreational activities per week because he's Working™️, so Wednesday is their weekly walk (they window shop, people watch, visit the park, etc.) and Friday evenings are for live performances (the theater, the opera, the symphony, the ballet, poetry readings, all that stuff).
Louis gets really into the gentle parenting trend and ends up using it on Armand more than on the fledglings
Both of them are film buffs, so they have an extensive and well-worn collection of classic cinema and art films. Louis' favorite is Chelsea Girls, Armand’s is Begotten. They'll watch anything as long as it's pretentious enough, including Warhol's videos of people sleeping or eating hamburgers and those "artistic" French films that are just softcore pornography shot in black and white. They think it's very deep. Lestat and Daniel think they're being trolled. Armand has a separate slasher collection that Louis makes him keep in his room.
The library is their baby, but they can't agree on how it should be organized. With vampire speed and detail work, they can undo and redo their own and each other's work at an astounding rate. Louis likes genre -> alphabetical by author and Armand likes genre -> chronological order. The setup of the library can change three or four times in a night if they're arguing.
They get a Ring doorbell solely for the purpose of checking to see if their visitor is Marius. Armand can't sense his maker and Louis can't sense jack shit, but (un)life finds a way.
(If it's Lestat, Armand will heckle him over the intercom until Louis notices and lets him in).
#armand on the doorbell like 'sorry louis said he never wants to see you again :/'#and louis behind him like 'i did NOT say that lestat he's lying please come rail me'#answered#vc#louis de pointe du lac#armand

@utterxdesires
Whilst Magnus had always been a workaholic, it was still an unusual occurrence for his doorbell to ring late at night. He lived in a high-rise with exceptional security, meaning that anyone who got through reception had to be known and recognised by building security. In his case, barely anyone came to his penthouse anymore and so as he walked from his bedroom to the front door upon the sound of the doorbell, Magnus racked his brains as to who might be calling so late, his phone yielding no answers as to anyone outside.
When he reached the front door, Magnus paused to look at the video intercom and saw an intimately familiar figure. Haylee had once been a near daily visitor to his home when they’d been in a relationship but in the almost year that had passed since their break-up, he’d seen her maybe just a handful of times. Nonetheless, Magnus still opened the door to her without question, albeit with a sleepy, confused look on his features. The ‘just out of bed’ look was accompanied by his mussed up hair and how he wore only a pair of dark pyjama pants.
“This is a surprise...” Magnus said by way of introduction, his usually gruff tone made even huskier by sleep. “It’s nearly three in the morning, Haylee... social hours still not apply to you?” he added, the remark more matter of fact than sarcastic given he was just as much a workaholic as she was.

Memories - lrh (Chapter Six)
Memories (also on Wattpad)
Chapter Five ※※※※※ Chapter Seven
“Problems in the fairy world: After almost two years, Luke Hemmings and Marnie McGonagall break up”
“The lovely couple of 2020, the model Marnie McGonagall and the singer Luke Hemmings, break up after almost two years of relationship”
“Shaken structure : After an accident and amnesia, Marnie McGonagall and Luke Hemmings puts an end to the relationship for a year and a half ”
After a week in peace and serenity, or something like that, my second one started with the internet breaking at the end of my relationship with Luke.
All the tabloids, renowned newspaper sites, gossip sites. All social networks. All radio stations. Everyone was commenting on.
All articles were based on “someone close to the couple”. Who? I have no idea, since after a slight spurt of distrust, I realized that none of my friends would do that. According to Noah, this was just the media playing, hoping to see if Luke or I would take the bait.
With my good leg beating at a fast pace, signaling my nervousness, I keep staring at the TV in silence, while Noah paces behind me, trying to control everything. The doorbell rings and I watch him go to answer. When Luke comes into view, I get up quickly and walk over to him, hugging him.
I close my eyes, feeling safer. I don't know how to deal with half the Los Angeles media behind me for a statement, or expecting a slip-up to attack me. I release all the air trapped in my lungs, in no hurry to break that hug.
“Are you okay?” he whispers and I just shake my head as if it was okay, or something close to it. “Great, that's what matters.” he leaves a kiss on my shoulder, before letting go and greeting Noah right.
“What's the order?” I see my friend question.
“The usual. They don't want me to say anything, but I won't be quiet while they attack her. I never stayed and it is not now that I will.” Luke replies, decided.
“Are they attacking me?” I ask approaching the two, who look at me without knowing what to say.
Since the headlines came out, Noah planted a lookout here at home, because he is the one who woke me up, and since then he hasn't let me see anything, just the TV and the mute yet. I knew he was protecting me, but I didn't know what.
The two look at each other and Luke approaches me again, sitting on the couch. As he tries to find a million ways to start, I interrupt him.
“Why do I feel like we already had this conversation?” I ask suspiciously.
“Because we already did, before we tell the media.” he scratches the back of his neck.
Once again, before he starts, Noah's cell phone rings and he leaves, leaving us alone.
“So?” I incentive to continue.
“There are a group of people, who like the band, but don't like our relationship and well …”
“They attack me.” I say, shortening for him. Luke states awkwardly. “How and why?” I don't know if I really want to know, but I know I need to.
Luke scratches his forehead. I feel bad for having to pass it on or go over it.
“They say bad things about you, about your job, about us. But nothing, nothing, is true.” Luke stresses "nothing" already knowing that most likely I would have that in my head. “Look, no matter what we do, there will always be people wanting to get in the middle and think they know more than the two of us, so just ignore it. Let them talk to themselves, they stop and go on to another topic. OK?” his face lowers, trying to meet my eyes, which were focusing on the pillow between us.
“OK!” I look at him with a weak smile. Luke gives a weak smile too, before giving me a kiss on the forehead and going after Noah to post his text.
In his tweets, Luke explains what happened between the two of us. He tells about my amnesia and how we both talked, and together, we decided to take a break, until I got used to my life or until I remembered everything. In the sequence, he also made clear all the affection and respect that we still had for each other. In addition to pulling the ear of whoever was attacking me or blaming me.
I don't know where it would be my fault. After all, I am the victim. Not to mention that none of this would be happening if it weren't for the accident. I would probably still be with Luke, together and happy.
I stare at the rug, hoping and praying for some memory to come, but my brain ignores me. I sigh, sinking into the couch. I look at the balcony, seeing the two talking. Luke is too perfect, it is not possible. I wouldn't have all that maturity.
This is not just maturity ...
I close my eyes, trying to silence my conscience. I know what it was, but not talking or thinking makes it seem like it’s not real.
Who am I kidding?!
Soon Luke's tweets were on TV, with several photos and videos of appearances, and everyone was commenting. Apparently the text was well accepted by the media, which changed the focus of the relationship a little and went back to talking about my accident. I hold my breath when the accident video is played again. I get up calling the attention of the two, who return to the living room and turn off the TV.
“Are you OK?” Noah asks attentively. I just nod.
“I need to go. I'm sure someone will show up at the studio to discuss with me. Later I try to stop by or call you.” Luke warns, coming towards me.
I hug him again, feeling safe. I apologize for getting him into this mess.
“It is not your fault and what matters is your well-being. And remember.” he holds my face, making me look into his blue eyes. “Nothing they say about you is true, don't let that take your head. I'll call you later.” he kisses me on the forehead and leaves.
“Oh, it is so difficult to see you like this and know that you are not together.” I turn to Noah, who is sitting on the sofa, looking at me in pain. I throw a pillow over his face and sit back down next to him.
“Believe me, I know.” I watch one more picture of us on the screen. “We are a beautiful couple.” I give a sad smile.
“Are?” Noah comments with a hopeful smile. “Can I start to ship again and create expectations?” he nudges me.
“First of all, did you ever stop to ship and create expectations?” Noah gives a weird smile. “Second, even if you haven't stopped, no. Despite everything, I still don't feel anything for Luke.” I sigh.
Perhaps "nothing" was a very strong word. I have affection and gratitude, but that I also have for Noah, Kyleen, Mike, Ashton, Calum and Leah, that is, it didn't mean much. What I needed was not there yet. However, I still hope to happen.
[...]
“Doesn't he look beautiful dressed like that? You have to see when he uses the overalls.” Calum sits next to me, provoking Ashton who was sitting on the floor, moving in his garden.
“Old Ashton had a farm, ieieo.” I humming with Calum, continuing the provocation.
I take the water bottle from Calum's hand, watching Ash dressed in faded jeans, a dirty T-shirt and a wide straw hat. I give a short laugh, watching Ashton glare at Calum. Apparently, his hobby in gardening was pretty funny.
“I already know what to give you on your birthday.” I get on the joke with Calum.
“You already gave that.” the two talk together, scaring me.
I look at them both with wide eyes as they laugh. This is already getting boring, it seems that everyone has some advantage over me. I see the idea of the garden kit for kids going down the drain. I didn't know what to give, now then.
“Then I will need your help with this.” I whisper to Calum, who just nods.
“So, you stopped when Luke left.” Ash reminds me.
After yesterday, with my name and Luke's in everyone's mouth, today I didn't want to stay at home, I needed to relax, so the two ladies went to pick me up to spend the afternoon here at Ashton's house with them. Especially because they wanted to know how I was doing and I wanted to hear from Luke.
“Well, everything was fine. Everything calmed down, as far as possible, until the intercom rang.” I give a discredited laugh, remembering yesterday. “When Stephen appeared at the door of my building.”
The two looked at me in astonishment.
“You're kidding, right?” Ashton even got up, approaching me.
“Go for me, I would like a lot, but no. He knew about Luke and me and wanted to try the chance. Little does he know that I already know everything.” I comment the last part quietly, not wanting to focus on that.
“This guy is unbelievable. How does he have that courage?!” Calum comments outraged.
“Did you tell Luke?” Ashton asks, after walking around as outraged as Cal.
“No and I don't know if I'm going to tell.” they look at me alarmed. “I don't want Luke to feel like he has to have any responsibility to keep Stephen from me and I know he will.” I confirm my theory when Cal shakes his head, agreeing with me. “Nothing happened either, Noah went down and ran him, it was just an isolated case.” I shrug.
I didn't expect Stephen to show up, not after the hospital, however, if he ever had the courage to show up for the first time after everything I experienced (according to my diary), the hospital misunderstanding was nothing for him.
I can't hide that I was very tempted to go down and break my cast on his head, but Noah was quicker, locking me at home and going in my place. According to him, now was not the time for an aggression scandal. Do what?! He's right.
“I understand you, my love, but as a friend, I advise you to tell.” Ash sits next to me. “This will end up getting to him, like it or not, so it better be for you.”
“Yeah, no need to go into details, but tell him.” Hood reinforces.
“I don't know if Parker's party is an appropriate place, but it may be easier to relax afterwards.” Ashton shrugs, wanting to help.
“Ah, I heard about this party. He's Noah's fling, isn't he?”
“Don't let Noah hear that.” Calum laughs, catching my attention.
But it was Leah who told me about them.
“Noah and Parker resemble you and Hemmo very much at the beginning. Everyone knows something is going to happen, but you guys play hard to get”. Ashton explains. I open my mouth to defend myself, but according to my diary, that was it.
I don't help myself.
“Well, regardless of his status, I won't.” the two look at me surprised and upset. “ I'm not ready for parties yet, sorry, but I don't want to sit all night on the couch without being able to dance or having to drag it up and down.” I point to the orthopedic boot on my foot, irritated by that thing.
“But what are you going to do over the weekend then?’ Cal asks.
“You will laugh and judge me.” I answer with a pout. I may not know them well enough, but enough to understand what they are like.
“Calum quite capable, but I don't.” Calum opens his arms, visibly offended by Ash's comment, making me laugh. “You laugh at that fall of Mike in the London show until today and it has more than seven years.”
It was Ashton talking about this show that Hood started to laugh, agreeing that he was the most likely to laugh at me.
“I still have the video.” he comments after a sigh, stopping laughing.
“Tell me.” my friend asks me, turning my attention to him.
“ I'm going to throw myself on my couch, with a lot of junk food and watch makeover programs and maybe some movies. This is going to be my weekend.” I tell after a sigh.
“This is so depressing that I can't even laugh.” Calum says shaking his head in denial. I look at him indignantly. Come on?! It's not so bad.
“Really, M&Ms? Is this going to be your weekend? On the couch clogging up with food?” Ashton is more indignant than I am with Cal.
“ I'm not in the mood, I'm sorry. But don't worry, Kyleen told me about your birthday party and I will, I swear.” I raise my right hand, as if I were in court.
“You are not even crazy to consider not going. I bring you by the boot.” he counters by returning to the vase he was stirring before.
“Was he always that delicate?” I ask Calum, who spits half the water.
“Oh, Marnie, you need to spend more time with us.” he pats my knee, like an old man telling about his childhood.
“Well, changing the subject a little, and Luke, how is he?” Ashton and Calum look at each other to get my attention.
“He's taking it. He has been busy with some compositions, he has lived in the studio.” Calum replies, going around the mouth of the bottle with his finger.
I look at Ashton, who was still thoughtful. Luke is probably not as well as they try to pass me, or something else is going on.
“He'll be fine!” Irwin reinforces, trying to keep me calm.
I decide not to poke the situation anymore and focus my thoughts on the conversation we were having when I arrived, which was to recall some more facts from the last few years.
“Wait, and you got stuck in the room? And the girl is gone?” I question Calum, very lost in the whole story of how he met Kyleen.
“Yes, the girl locked me there and I don't know where she went, but Kyleen came and released me.” he explains.
“You need to find more normal girls, seriously, you have a serious problem in choosing someone.” I tell them. Serious! Emery, this girl now, my God, what a rotten picker.
“After that we went out a few times and she became part of the team. Shortly thereafter, we met Noah and Leah. That's been six years. Something around there.” Cal finishes.
“Went out?” I widen my eyes. “Have you and Kyleen ever had an affair?” I approached him, shocked, seeing him nod. “ Oh my God!”
“ It's really fun to tell her things, isn't it?” Ash laughs, seeing my reaction.
“Yes, but it came to nothing, it was more fun and in the end, it started to get weird. So, we decided to just be friends.” Hood responds. Once again, I look at Ash with my mouth open, making him laugh.
“She didn't tell me that. What a bitch.” I lean against the wall, indignant.
After the fun afternoon with Tweedledee and Tweedledum, Calum took me home, since today I was having dinner with my father and Meredith for the first time.
“Anything call me, okay?” Hood speaks before saying goodbye. “Especially if Meredith brings that peach pie with homemade whipped cream.” I watch with wide eyes, he close his eyes dreaming of the pie. “I can even taste it.” he finally sighs.
“Do you want me to keep a piece?” he quickly nods, smiling. “Okay, bye, Cal. Thanks!”
I get out of the car laughing. I couldn't ask for better friends.
I keep imagining a million scenarios while I get ready and wait for them to arrive. I know that Meredith and I know each other and get along, but that doesn't stop my anxiety from attacking.
The doorbell rings and I almost cry, regretting not having canceled before. I open the door to find Meredith fixing the collar of my father's shirt, which held the so famous pie. I watch the woman with medium dark hair and a long jumpsuit, opening a warm smile. My father steps forward and gives me a hug.
“How are you?” he analyzes me.
“Well, every day better.” I give a nervous smile. Then the time came. “Hey!” I open my smile a little more to receive Meredith.
She takes a step towards me, shy and extends her hand. I squeeze willingly and give passage to the two of them. We sat at the table and stared at each other for a few seconds, until I realized that I didn't put the dish on the table.
“Sorry.” I mention getting up, but my father takes the lead.
I understand that he wants to help, but being alone with Meredith, even for two seconds, was still not comfortable.
“So …” I start. “I saw that you are going to publish a second book.”
“Ah yes yes. Next week, I can't wait.” she responds excitedly.
Her first book was about toxic relationships and to my amazement, I helped out on some points. The second book would be about the new beginning, the emotional and financial freedom of women. She was not a Jane Austen, because the genres are different, but she is well known.
“I know I'm suspicious to talk, but it looks incredible. Your mother read and loved it.” my father comments the last part in a natural way. However, Meredith notes that I was a little uncomfortable and changed the subject.
I discreetly thanks. My parents' divorce and their friendship is something that I am still absorbing. I accept, but I am learning to cope.
We started talking about my father's trip to Japan and how he fumbled over there. It didn't take long for me to get comfortable with Meredith over there, she's as funny as my dad and very kind.
Meredith must be my mother's age, but she has an energy that makes her look much younger. She wears colorful clothes, always has a huge smile on her face and a contagious laugh. It is good to be close to her. I discover that her first husband was her high school boyfriend, but unfortunately he died of cancer.
Then she started dating an organic food store owner, but he was not a nice guy. It was from this relationship that the first book came out. I admire the courage and strength she had to put an end to it. In return, she had Kendall and Samantha, who look adorable.
“Ah, before I forget.” She takes some papers out of her bag. “The twins made some drawings for you.”
I open those papers with a huge smile. The paintings contained various hearts, flowers, Petunia in various forms and even their self-portrait with me. Everyone wished me well and said that I was the best sister in the world.
“I do not even know what to say.” I am touched. I always wanted to have siblings and since I knew them both, the desire to meet them only increases. The only issue is the fear that they won't like me.
“They are dying to see you, but we said they need to wait for you to be ready. I know there is still a lot to assimilate and absorb.” Meredith says calmly. I am grateful that they do not press anything.
But like everything, I needed to face this. Being afraid of two five-year-olds is not going to help at all. In fact, it will only make me miss them more.
“Yes, you commented on the interview that Meredith will give on the afternoon program, on Wednesday. If they want, I can take care of them.” I suggest nervous, after all, I have amnesia, a broken arm and a leg in the orthopedic boot. I don't know if I'm reliable.
They both look at each other and shrug. For them, I wouldn't have the slightest problem, and certainly not for the children. So it was agreed, Wednesday, I would find my brothers, and may God help me.
“Who's up for pie?” Meredith opens that smile again.
I end up laughing again, remembering Calum earlier. I send a photo of my plate to him, who responds with crying emojis and a huge audio, begging to keep his piece.

The President Wears Prada (William Nylander) | Chapter 12
A/N: Thank you all so much for the positive feedback on the last chapter despite very minimal Willy/Aberdeen interaction. This chapter and the ones coming will definitely make up for it.
December 15th, 2019
Aberdeen Bloom was trying to get into the biggest gated house she’d ever seen in her life.
She’d taken an Uber up to the Bridle Path, the exclusive street in Toronto filled with massive mansions the size of her high school with their own private gates and tennis courts and and pools and indoor pools and indoor basketball courts and bowling alleys and wine cellars and all the other frivolous things rich people could build in their houses. She bet each one even had a heated driveway so that nobody in the house had to wake up at the crack of dawn to shovel. The Uber driver had already driven away, not even bothering to wait to see if she got in safely, so she hoped to be let in soon.
“Name, please?” a loud voice asked through the intercom-or-whatever-it-was system these rich people had for their house. She bet they probably had cameras too and saw her impatiently waiting outside.
“Aberdeen Bloom.”
“Abba-what?”
She rolled her eyes. “Aberdeen Bloom,” she enunciated more clearly. “Brendan Shanahan’s personal assistant.” She was starting to get annoyed that she had to attach that caveat for anybody in the hockey world or the rich people world to take her seriously.
The gate buzzed open, and Aberdeen walked quickly towards the front entrance, about the ring the doorbell before it opened magically for her. A butler. A butler opened the door for her and greeted her, offering to take her coat and letting her know she could keep her shoes on. There were waiters and waitresses carrying around plates of expensive looking hors d’oeuvres and others carrying around flutes of champagne. There was a giant, giant Christmas tree in the – the foyer? The reception hall? What did rich people call these things? – decorated with expensive looking ornaments, ribbons, and what Aberdeen thought had to be Swarovski crystals. It had to be at least 15 or 20 feet high. It was a far cry from her family’s Christmas tree, which was decorated with all the homemade ornaments she, Siena, and Camden had made throughout their years in school. She almost felt like she was in the Eaton Centre. There were even boxes upon boxes of presents underneath it, all wrapped with the same wrapping paper and with giant nametags. Jolly Christmas carols were being played through some sort of speaker.
She couldn’t believe rich people lived like this. She couldn’t believe she was in a house on the Bridle Path with these rich people. What had her life become?
“Aberdeen!” she heard her name being called. She looked to her side to see Brendan approaching her, leaving his wife speaking to whoever they were speaking to for a quick second. “So nice to see you! You look lovely as always.”
“Oh, thanks Brendan.”
“Come with me,” he said, guiding her towards the people he was speaking to. “Aberdeen, I want you to meet Dani Reiss, whose house we’re in. Dani’s the CEO of Canada Goose. Dani, this is my executive assistant, Aberdeen Bloom.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Aberdeen,” he said as they shook hands. Aberdeen was hyperaware of his handshake and the fact that she was shaking hands with yet another billionaire. She truly, truly couldn’t understand what her life had become. She wished Siena or Kasha were here to do all the talking. They were much better at it than she was, she thought. “How are you enjoying working for the Toronto Maple Leafs?”
Aberdeen chuckled nervously. She wondered if he really cared, but then remembered that they were having their Christmas party at his house, and he’d gone through all this trouble to keep them entertained, so he probably did. “Oh, it’s amazing! A bit hectic at times, but overall it’s been a great experience so far. Everyone’s just been so great and welcoming – you wouldn’t even know that I didn’t watch hockey before I got the job.”
That led to a chuckle amongst Brendan, Catherine, and Dani. “I bet a million people would kill for your job,” Dani commented through his laugh.
There it was again. That thing everybody said to her when they learned what her job was. She’d heard it for months now, since her first day on the job, and it was becoming abundantly clear with each passing day that it was something many people coveted. “I know, sir. I’m very lucky to have it and to work with such an incredible team.”
Out of the corner of her eye she could see Brendan smile. Dani was already smiling at her. “Well Aberdeen, mi casa es su casa! Feel free to take a wander, grab some drinks, and enjoy the food!”
She thanked them as they left her there, walking towards another group with Leanne Hederson. Aberdeen walked further into the foyer where the giant Christmas tree was, admiring it for a moment before looking around to see if she could see anybody she recognized. She knew that, at this point, she could walk up to any member of the team or the administration and join in on their conversation, but the setting was slightly different than what she was used to (at the offices, of course) and it made her a bit nervous.
“Brendan girl?”
Aberdeen visibly cringed. She looked to her side to see her absolute favourite person in the whole entire world, Ethan Baker, walking over to her with a drink in his hands. “Why are you here?”
She rolled her eyes at him. He did this at every event they attended, as if she wasn’t allowed to be there. “You constantly forget we work for the same team,” she said.
“Yeah, except one of our jobs is more important than the other,” he quipped. She felt like punching him right then and there until she remembered this was a Christmas party at a billionaire’s mansion and it was socially frowned upon to start fights at parties. “I didn’t know assistants were allowed to these things.”
“Peter’s here.”
“Doesn’t that mean you two should be helping the waiters?”
Aberdeen’s jaw dropped. “What is your problem?” she demanded.
“Aw, come on, I’m just ribbing you.”
“You know, just because I got the job over you—”
“—Cause you look really hot in those pants, Brendan girl.”
She stopped. She was shocked at what he’d just said. It had to be because he was already drunk. She couldn’t think of another plausible expectation. She couldn’t believe how hot and cold he was at these sorts of events, remembering what he was like at the Major Donor Gala. “Besides,” she said through gritted teeth, “being a waiter isn’t something to be frowned upon. A lot of my friends waited their way through university.”
“And you didn’t be a waitress or hostess? With the way you look, you would have gotten really good tips.”
She felt like spiders were crawling underneath her skin. She thought back to that day where she let him get in her head – when he’d called her a piggy for warming up a burrito. “Are you trying to flirt with me? Because you’re failing miserably.”
“I’m trying to—”
“Aberdeen!”
She looked to her side to see an excited looking Bee McTavish making a beeline towards her. Bee somewhat-stared, somewhat-glared at Ethan as she hooked her arm with Aberdeen’s. “You don’t mind if I steal her, do you? A bunch of her friends are just over there,” she nodded her head towards a group that included Jason and Jennifer Spezza, Morgan, and John and Aryne Tavares.
“I’m her friend,” Ethan quipped, smiling.
“I’m sure,” Bee nodded her head, grimacing every so slightly. “Have a good night,” she dismissed him before tugging on Aberdeen’s arm and leading her in the opposite direction. “God, that guy is such a skeeze,” she whispered to Aberdeen.
“Yeah.”
“Does he work here?”
“Tech and video playback,” Aberdeen informed her.
“Well, you’re with us now,” Bee smiled as she brought Aberdeen into the fold of the group.
Aberdeen greeted and hugged everyone before noticing Will at the tail end. She gave him a quick hug and a – God he smelled impeccable – and a cordial ‘Nice to see you! before he settled into his usual William behaviour. “What do you think?” he asked.
She knew he was waiting for one of her famous retorts. She took another look at his look: blonde hair, navy blue up top and an actual pair of burnt orange pants. She wondered if his fashionable status edged on the side of completely insane. Everything was tailored to perfection, and nothing was wrinkled or anything like that, but she couldn’t get over the orange pants. “You look like Sailor Venus.”
Everybody burst out into laughter. Even William smiled from ear to ear. “Alright alright, very funny Aberdeen.”
“You know I’m right.”
The group talked about their Christmas plans. This was Aryne and John’s first Christmas with baby Jace, so it was going to be extremely special for them. Morgan’s parents and brother were flying in from Vancouver to spend time with him and Bee. It was also Jason and Jennifer’s first Christmas in Toronto with their four girls – even though Jason was from here – so that was another special event that they’d be hosting at their house. William would probably be Skyping with his family in Sweden, having his own version of a family Christmas. It was unfortunate that whatever plans the boys had with their families would have to be cut short slightly because they had a game in New Jersey on the 27th, and it was even more unfortunate that because of a game in Minnesota, they’d all be away from their families on New Year’s – Aberdeen included. It was the first time she would be out of Toronto for New Year’s, and not spending the night with her family or out with her friends.
Jason and Jennifer ended up giving Aberdeen a tour of the parts of the house they’d already explored, with William following behind them somewhat lazily. She saw Ethan at one point and could feel him staring at her. There were a couple of different food stations, and she picked up some sushi and other appetizers on the way around. The house was expansive, and again, she couldn’t believe rich people lived like this. She could only imagine what the bedrooms looked like, or the basement, where she was sure there were ridiculous things like a bowling alley, or a 10,000 bottle wine cellar, or a home theatre.
Dani Reiss ended up calling Jason and Jennifer over, so Aberdeen found herself alone with William. William seemed to enjoy the situation, as he always did – the smirk on his face revealing all – but when Aberdeen looked past him, she saw Ethan staring at her again, pretending to talk to his colleague who worked in tech and video playback. She bit her lip nervously. She knew she couldn’t let him get to her, but he already had once before and it almost cost her the job she had – the one he so desperately wanted. She couldn’t let him keep doing this to her. She needed to be strong. She needed to be—
“Aberdeen.”
William’s stern voice broke her out of her trance. “What?”
“Did you hear anything I just said about how nice you look?”
“N—N—Yeah…yeah yeah, thanks,” she said absent-mindedly.
That wasn’t a normal reaction from her at all whenever he complimented her looks. Usually it was an eye-roll and a ‘stop it!’. William discreetly looked over his shoulder to where she was looking. He saw Ethan look away once he caught him. He whipped his head back towards her. “Is he messing with you?” William asked, his voice low.
“What? No no,” Aberdeen shook her head quickly. “Don’t worry about it—”
“Aberdeen, if he’s messing with you, I’ll fucking kill him—”
“Will, no,” she stressed. “Just leave it alone.”
“Is he bothering you?”
“No.”
“What was he saying to you earlier?”
“Nothing,” she said. There was no way she was going to tell him. “Just…just stupid stuff. Work stuff. It was honestly nothing.”
“You’d tell me, right?” William said. He’d asked that question before. She couldn’t discern his tone of voice but by the way he was looking at her she knew he was dead serious and knew there was at least a hint of worry. “You’d tell me if he said something, right? If he made you feel uncomfortable? Because I’ve already tried to talk to Babs about it, and I know he’s gone now but I have no problem speaking to someone on your behalf if you’re too scared to.”
She felt like telling him. She really did. But she couldn’t – not now, at the Christmas party, and not ever, because it was something she needed to deal with on her own. Somehow, at least. She didn’t know how she was going to deal with it, only that she had to. So instead, Aberdeen shook her head. “It’s fine, Will. Don’t worry. And yes. I’d tell you.”
So it was a little white lie. Who hadn’t told a little white lie in their life?
William visibly relaxed at her words. He finished his drink and placed it on the tray of a passing server. “You ready to go outside?”
“Outside?” Aberdeen looked at Will strangely. “It’s the middle of December. We’re staying inside, thank you very much.”
“Nooooo no no no no,” he chuckled and shook his head. He went to grab her hand but then remembered where he was, pulling it back towards his body. “Come on. Come with me. You’re in for the surprise of your life.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Hey Aberdeen! Willy! You coming or what?” Jennifer Spezza called out as she waved them down from the sliding doors leading to the backyard. “Come on! It’s time to skate!”
Aberdeen threw William a confused look. “Skate?”
They made their way towards the door, and when Aberdeen stepped through the threshold, she couldn’t believe what she saw: an entire skating rink – boards and everything – where she presumed Dani’s tennis court was, where some people were already skating. There were lights, people were laughing, and there was even a whole skate rental helping out. There were even fucking portable heaters. Again, she couldn’t believe rich people lived like this. She couldn’t believe that Dani would offer up his house, hire all the waiting staff, hire the catering staff, buy all those gifts, flood an entire portion of his backyard, and put up a skating rink so he could give the Maple Leafs a Christmas party. Those closer she walked to the rink with William, Jason, and Jennifer, the more she couldn’t believe it.
“What size are you, miss?”
“Uh, I’m a seven in regular shoes…” she said, not knowing if that made a difference. The person turned around to look for skates, and Aberdeen turned towards William. “I’m…I’m not good at skating at all.”
“You don’t have to be,” he smiled. “You’ve got a team full of hockey players to help you along, minskatt.”
“No no. I’m not just, like, saying that to be cute or whatever,” she said. She needed to make that abundantly clear because she was sure she was going to make a complete ass of herself. “I’m not good at skating. I don’t even know how to tie them up properly.”
“Again, you have a whole hockey team at your disposal,” William said with a giggle in his voice. When the skates were handed over, Jason took them before Aberdeen could. “You gonna lace her up?” William asked him.
“I’ve got it,” Jason nodded his head. “Aberdeen, go sit on the bench. And give me your right foot.”
Aberdeen felt powerless as she did as she was told. Jason shoved the skate onto her foot and kept it between his legs to tighten them and lace them up. Jennifer put on her own skates right beside her, and William was on her other side doing the same. “I feel like one of your children,” Aberdeen joked to them.
Jason smiled. “You’re practically the same age as Sophia.”
“Am not!” Aberdeen protested. “Sophia was born in 2010!”
“Yeah, and you’re born in 98. I’m born in 83. There’s fifteen years between you and I, but only twelve between you and Sophia,” Jason said.
“It’s practically the same thing!”
“No. You’re a baby,” Jason chuckled. “The both of you,” he nodded his head towards William, “are babies.”
Once her skates and helmet were fully on, and tight enough so her ankles weren’t moving so they wouldn’t snap in half, Aberdeen wobbled her way over towards the ice rink. She looked out onto the ice and saw Bee skating, screaming as she slipped and fell right into Frederik Andersen’s arms. The both of them laughed heartily as he held on to her like a knight in shining armour would catch his princess. Morgan called out to them in a joking manner, feigning disgust and annoyance.
“Aberdeen?” she heard William’s soft voice. Jason and Jennifer were already on the ice. She hadn’t even seen them get on. She had taken a while to psych herself up, apparently. “You okay?”
“I’m just being an idiot,” she shook her head, embarrassed.
“You’re not being an idiot, minskatt.”
“Says the guy who was in skates before he was in shoes with soles,” she tried to joke. “I work for a hockey team and I don’t even know how to skate well.”
Aberdeen watched as William extended his head. “Come on,” he said. “I’ll teach you.”
“Will—”
“Think of it this way,” he began. “If you fall and crack your head open, you’ll probably suffer memory loss and forget who I am.”
Aberdeen snorted and laughed out loud. She needed to hand it to William – he knew how to calm her down and diffuse any stress. “You’re the worst, Will,” she chuckled out.
“I know I am. Now come on.”
Aberdeen took his hand and stepped onto the ice gingerly. William pulled her away from the edge of the rink slowly. “Okay, bend your knees,” he began. “You can’t skate with tight legs.”
For an almost embarrassingly long time, William taught Aberdeen the basic ins and outs of skating. He was patient with her as he skated back and forth with her, pushing and pulling her along. He’d grab her if she tripped, wrapped his arms around her if she almost slipped and fell, and tried to make her laugh as much as possible. Jason would join in sometimes, holding her other hand as he and William pulled her along. Jennifer and Bee acted like her own personal cheerleaders. Eventually, she got the hang of it, able to skate around without having her hands out to balance her and with the ability to turn along the edges. Morgan skated by and joked she was going to replace William on the line with John. The smile on her face and giggle in her voice could light up the night sky.
For William, it was the best part of the night by far.
***
Brendan was so happy that everybody was having fun; so happy to see the smiles on people’s faces as they skated around the rink, running into each other like bumper cars and taking group pictures. He loved seeing the comradery of his team outside the rink – the comradery of his entire organization outside of the offices. The Christmas party was a huge success, and he couldn’t be happier.
As he leaned his forearms down against the boards outside the rink, he watched everybody having a good time. A few of the players skated by to have a quick chat. Auston came first, then Jason and Freddie Gauthier together.
“What a great party!” William smiled as he skated up to him, looking out at everyone having fun on the ice.
Brendan nodded his head. “We’re lucky Dani invited us and did all this for us. Much better than some stuffy dinner, I think.”
“Definitely,” William agreed, nodding his head.
Brendan nodded his head too, following William’s line of sight. Aberdeen was posing with Bee McTavish, Aryne Tavares, and Courtney Muzzin. Brendan smiled. “Be careful, William.”
William’s brows furrowed at his words as he turned to look at him. “Sir?”
“She can’t do anything with you until she leaves,” Brendan said, standing upright. “And you can’t do anything with her.”
