i’m not a dude but is it weird for guys to read lesbian characters x gn!reader? i’m a girl who likes girls but like… i lowkey understand why someone would be attracted to these baddies if that makes sense. it feels icky to me that people would try to remove representation but would identifying as a man mean you should not read lesbian characters x readers? i cannot tell if i’m making sense. i’m just genuinely curious because i am pretty new to the x reader genre in general. i hope i don’t sound like i’m trying to excuse or find a loophole for blatantly disgusting behavior…

i am non binary myself, so i think im able to speak on this a bit. gender neutral readers are obviously, yknow neutral– so its not specifically for girls or guys, but for the people in between; but in the writing scene its also more of a vague term, most likely used for the reader to insert themselves/an oc into the story without preset specifications

i cant imagine a man wanting to read smth including a lesbian character unless they have the intention of erasing what is canon, which in most cases, is fine. thats what makes fiction fun. not saying i agree with this behaviour, but its bound to happen regardless.

it also comes down to the fact that this is tumblr, people are gonna read and write what they want and in my opinion no one should really have a say in that (as long as you are not being harmful, which the people ive spoken abt are being blatantly ignorant)

but yeah, i hope that answered the question! all in all, its not that deep, its tumblr and ppl can do what they want

as a community, lesbians are just tired of dealing with this bs constantly, it shouldnt even have to be an argument to be had imo
