my current interpretation of his character: (since. his canon motivation is just "well he IS literal greed so ofc he wants infinite growth")

otherwise your average liberal who leans economically right ("capitalism and infinite growth is natural and actually the thing thats gonna save me instead of the problem haha") but happens to have huge control issues, a god complex and somewhat fear of death (which translates to hatred of vulnerability and a "well if one dies it mustve been bcz they were too weak idk skill issue" viewpoint) honestly he's basically just an out of touch billionaire who's fixated on the future and in denial about being depressed

-very much masc leaning but in a "thats just how it is idrc myself" way -gay vers -uhhh flat ass -barely if ever takes care of own appearance. realistically would probably have "bedhead" 24/7 -barely actually smiles. and when he does its always an annoying self-satisfied smirk -probably dehydrated as hell -does not work out -^ most of this bcz hes a control freak and ignores his own needs in favour of controlling other "more important"" things lol

-scars on thee back youd uhh normally never see lol idk what the deal with the box is but i mean he probably didnt want to. have to be there. so there had to be some sort of ""physical disagreement" for when/while he was um idk captured for that. honestly i doubt well ever get any canon information on this so i can just hc anything I guess ..yayy u_u

actually hey rb on main so i can talk more about Greed.

Ok so in a vacuum I do genuinely like the idea of Greed with a full suit of gold armour, bcz of like everything stated above about how armour is utilised symbolically. BUT spons wars already having a kind of subversion of that common symbolism with kc, it just. wont work the same way lol. because now its been established that armour and hiding one's face doesn't necessarily make a character unrelatable and/or (seemingly) unfeeling. anyway shrug whatever!! in twa design contrast is usually utilised with colours only (i.e. green n purple are opposites and so are silver n gold in a sense..) so . clearly there probably hasnt been much thought put into the characterisation/symbolism armour or lack of it has :P

just thinking about how traditionally in media full suits of armour and especially helmets are used to hide characters' humanity and your ability to relate to them (such as making enemies unrelatable mindless drones for the player to massacre or to convey a character is powerful to the point theyve lost themselves/are basically inhuman). Anyways all this to say this doesn't apply to TWA spons wars really at all and I find that silly. The arguably most emotional character and the one against infinite growth (which, contrary to conservative belief, is very unnatural) is Knight Commander, who wears a suit of armour lol.

-hes exactly the type of person to prefer the idea of being an indestructible suit of armour

-the . angst. (where's the line between "you" and "wanting"? are you really a person or just the feeling. if youre not a person might as well hide the last thing that indicates you as such behind metal.)

MAN i love love loveeee greed trying to pass of what he's doing as "progress" when he's actually just upholding the status quo and kind of revealed such being the case with who chose to side w/him AND him taking claim to being an inherent inescapable force in the universe before all that.... ughfhhfjjg i miss when i liked this show 😭😭

the way i choose who to ship with Greed is think of a scenario where the other character gets their hands bloody for him and if it makes sense and feels in character theyre real to me

ace & greed are both control freaks they just have wildly different ways of coping when they're not in control

the way I just realised how like polar opposite me and greed are is making me crazyy like at a deep and existential level the things we are driven by are , by nature, directly opposed to eachother

in the "greedting" segment you can tell he's so incredibly bitter and trying very hard to hide it... he may not have to fear about running out of resources (due to both his nature as the personification of greed and just general lack of morals when it comes to the environment) but time is, in his perspective, running out and current allies quite flimsy... ASJTLHWNT he's crazy what's wrong with his brain I want to study him so bad. hes also bitter about the other villains not wanting to ally with him because like... he thinks they just have the same goal. they all want something that they think will make them feel fulfilled, too. sure, maybe Greed doesn't know what that exact something is, and his feeling of nothing ever being enough clouds his judgment, meaning he thinks maybe... maybe he needs everyone to feel the same... maybe then he'll be okay... NGGGHHHJJJJKK I HATE THIS FUCKING WEB SERIES SO MUCH /LH J

rewatching recent twa spons wars additions and going crazy about Greed like. i may hate his new sprites and animation but his voice and writing is just sbxnbsbc AGGHHJK I LOVE HIM SOO.... 😭😭😭 everytime he says something even if it's stupid and nonsensical he just... my heart .... uoghhjjkkl......
