Eris the Destroyer, shedding all over the place. 😸 (It's a weaving joke.) Couldn't really afford the loom, but after the deeply depressing... everything... I needed to calm down and do something worth living for. I don't know that weaving qualifies. It doesn't pay the bills. But a woman in her 70s was telling me recently, her life was always about work and bills and taking care of people. Should have spent more time on art. I always think that's true, but then rent comes due... 🖤 But this time, I bought the loom. Eris is trying to help. She is very excited to be near me. I often don't even want to be near me. Strange little cat. 🐱 I have to stop and take lots of breaks while weaving to stretch and do other things, but it's a decent mental "cool down". Meditative, repetitive. No pressure, too. I can come back whenever. I’ve spent the day at @winghamwool on a weaving course 😎 The day has just flown by! I loved it 😍 I might have bought a loom 🙄 It wasn’t my fault, honest. #thelieswetellourselves The red piece was this morning’s effort; the blue and yellow was this afternoon’s. Not perfect by any means, but way better than I was expecting. It was lovely to meet @clarem1806 - a fellow knitter... and now we are fellow weavers 😊 Our loom mistress also gave me a quick lesson with a drop spindle, so I shall be digging that out again too. this project is a whoooole lot of firsts.
