So more people cane to you, you trianed them in defense and most gave you their souls so you could call upon them for a favor at a time of your choosing!

Alastor: On top of that, the other overlords seem to be threatened by the fact you have so many souls and demons going to you WILLINGLY, you not showing up to meetings and beong little morningstars girlfriend doesnt help that either!So this will be a fun first meeting~

Hello, It's been a while. I'm back with some art for the Bounty Hunter Branch au.

I was asked a while ago about interactions between the other bounty hunters and Branch, so I drew some.

Now, I'm going to Info dump about The Bounty Hunter's relationship with Branch.

Hickory: When he first saw Branch, he thought Branch was some small kid who got lost. When he found out about Branch being one of the new bounty hunters, he was heartbroken. How can a kid so little do such a dangerous job? Where was his parents? Where does he live? Why is he out here alone? Why is he gray? All these questions plagued his mind, so from that day onward, he was determined to befriend his stubborn kid.

Dickory: At First, he didn’t care about Branch. He was just some little kid trying to get himself killed, but then, over the years, he heard about how the grey hunter would take out his targets with ease. He was as quick as lighting and quiet as a mouse. No one could catch him. It was like he was invisible. After that, Dickory didn’t trust Branch. Saying he's hiding something.

K-Pop Gang: They are very curious about the lonely teenager. They are also worried about him being gray, but they don’t ask because the last time when Hickory asked, Branch yelled and almost got into a fight with him, and no one saw him for two weeks after that. It also doesn’t help that Branch doesn’t like music and cuts off the radio when he walks into The Milkshake Bar. It makes it hard to connect with him. But that doesn’t stop them. They will try to befriend him no matter what.

Tresillo: He didn’t know about Branch until he saw him collecting a bounty. He had never seen anything like it, a fog that makes trolls fall asleep. When he woke up after the fog knocked him out, he saw the village was fine, but the mayor was missing, and no one knew where he went. He felt better that no one else was hurt. But, after that, he became wary of Branch.

Marimba and Tambora: They don’t think anything of Branch. But they know Tresillo is uneasy around him, so they are also wary of Branch.

Chaz: He never seen Branch but knows of him. He stays clear of him.

Here's an observation/theory I have about Edwin's time in hell, since I rewatched it yesterday. (Spoilers!):

In The Case of the Devlin House, Crystal is the first to hear the sounds of that monster from hell living in the attic. Makes sense that Charles didn't hear it, he was going through his own things in that episode, but what about Edwin? Wouldn't it make more sense for Edwin to be the first one to clock that sound when, as he said, he had seen many of those creatures in hell.

A similar thing happens in The Case of the Very Long Stairway, when the baby-doll-spider-thing starts coming, Charles is the first one to react to the sound. Edwin only aknowledges it once everyone else already has.

Keeping this in mind, do you think he's still haunted with the sounds of hell? He's already got a huge fear of baby dolls, so maybe he keeps hearing these things to. Maybe at the beginning he jumped at every odd sound and would spiral into a panic, and as to not keep worrying Charles (and not have him ask about hell) he just got better at hiding it.

Amane's birthday flower tweet

Happy Birthday to everyone born today. Today is also Amane Momose from #MILGRAM's birthday. Her birth flower is Passiflora caerulea (tokeisou/Blue Passion Flower). The name "Passion flower" [tl note: passion as in "the passion/suffering of Christ, not enthusiasm] was used by Christian missionaries, it comes from the stamen's resemblence to the Crucifixion of Christ, with the 10 petals representing 10 Apostles. The passion flower's hanakotoba are "Faith", "Sacred Love" as well as "Religious fervour". Just so you know, this is simply an annecdote about the flower, it's not directly related to Amane's origins. Hanatokoba is purely allegorical. Simply put, just because the blue passion flower has this kind of backstory and hanakotoba, it doesn't mean Amane's religion is the same. Just added this supplement in case this is the first time you've had a run in with the Hanakotoba Guy and found it hard to understand. [Note: 花言葉おじさん Hanakotoba ojisan aka Hanakotoba Guy/Old Man Hanakotoba/Mr Hanakotoba is Yamanaka's nickname for himself when he does these things, he also used the term in Mikoto's birthday tweet]

I don't understand how this book doesn't exist anywhere online, I have checked Bookfinder and Ebay, the only place I could find it listed was on Worldcat which arrows already identified what library it is at and I DID place an ILLiad request through the library because I looked and I checked and I think University of British Columbia is in the ILL system but I'm like??? The book is self-published and people never hang onto that shit, it should be for sale somewhere!! I'm like about to cold-email the publisher who prints the self-published books to aee if they have or xan print a copy but I think the author is dead (googled for contact info 😭 and only found obituaries and some guy on IG who is way too young based on the publication date and how old he looks) so I have no idea if that will go anywhere. Then I thought, well maybe the guy who has photos of the team/players who I paid $50 to dig up photos on some hard drive and then he ghosted me knows if the author is dead or where to get a copy. So I emailed him and explained the situation in the most normal way possible

And then I was late to an appointment but wrote half of this on the trolley going one way and half going the other way and all this, to be clear, because i changed my alarm clock sound to goats and it was such an aurally unpleasant way to be woken up I immediately got out of bed and drank coffee, had too much time to kill, and thought you know what I should do? A research project in the kitchen.

Into the Storm Series Lore

I didn’t like the options of using italics or High Valyrian everytime a foreign language was spoken in Into the Eye so I got my anthropologist sister to assign languages (on the basis High Valyrian is like Latin) to the different free cities that I can use. Canonically these are now the languages in my fic:

I can't really claim +Anima as a particularly well-written manga - I think it does much better as a series of vignettes or one-shots than it does when it tries to have an overarching narrative - but since it was particularly hard to find scans of this series that weren't in broken English (with no shade, translation is a tricky job, but since the story is already kind of weak, the broken translation made things harder to follow) I thought I ought to at least link the scans that use the Tokyopop translation (The first two volumes are different but extremely close to the Tokyopop translation, and everything onwards is just taken directly from Tokyopop).

I do think I could say I recommend this series, with some stipulations of course. This is a fantasy series that takes inspiration from North America rather than Western Europe, so... It does a very messy job at portraying indigenous people (definitely more in an ignorant way than in a malicious way), but does at least try to couple that with a "colonization and bigotry bad" message. This series is mostly about childhood trauma, being othered from society, finding your place and learning to accept yourself. And I think, in that sense, it does a very good job at connecting you to the main four characters, especially if you're marginalized in some way.
