i am still a guard as well as a fire emblem fan! here is part 2 of my little series :) dimitri - kinda in the same boat as caspar, but he's been working really hard on his technique. he can do lots of great tricks and his catches can be heard for MILES.

dedue - guard captain. i make the rules. he is one of the best spinners you've ever seen, and also a wonderful teacher. he's a little stiff when it comes to movement but it's okay!

annette - sabreline section leader. she has a lot of bruises from guard but is also one of the best members on the team. she's also a great turner under tosses. like wow. impeccable.

mercedes - flagline section leader. has loads of bobby pins, electrical tape, and hairspray for everyone. has a huge first aid kit mostly for annette but everyone else uses it too

ingrid - rifleline section leader. she thought colorguard and rotc were the same thing so...here she is. she's really come to love the team though!

sylvain - danceline section leader. it's sylvain. need i say more.

felix - best on weapon, but secretly loooooves dance. but since it's sylvain, he refuses.

ashe - just the new guy. he's super good at flag and showing emotion through dance, so he's copped a few solos.

they're a world class guard whose shows mostly focus on their precision and impeccable technique. if i had to compare them to an independent group it would for sure be pride of cincinnati.

Rifle Party

January 27, 1996

Yesterday it rained, but only a little.  Since my mom was home I waited for her to wake me up in the morning.  She didn’t until 6:50am!  I HAVE to be in my seat by 7am. I ran to get ready.  I barely made it!

Steve really hurt his shoulder Thursday night at his wrestling thing.  He had to go to the doctors and his arm was put in a sling.  Mom took us out for lunch.  Our waiter was slow!  We were 5 minutes late getting back to school!  I was really lucky:  Mr. Keller was outside when I got to class so he never saw me walk in late.  I think Steve got in trouble though.

Practice was over at 4, and then I worked until 8 and then went to find Shannon a birthday present and then to Sarah’s house for the rifle party.  We watched the movies Clueless and Untamed Heart.  We laughed, we cried, but mostly we laughed. We taped our rifles too. Sarah’s house is so cool!  They have a huge backyard and a loft for her sisters room.  She has an 11 month old baby brother.  He has to be fed by a tube that goes to his stomach.  How sad.

We all slept with our rifles.  Sarah’s mom made us all breakfast.  Mom picked me up at 9am and we went to Ag.  Mrs. Brown talked forever!  I was afraid she was convincing mom not to let me get a foal. 

I got to MVHS for our competition at 1:20pm.  Frank had me do the warm-ups. Stan, Wendy, Erin, and Steve were all there.  They stayed from 3-8pm.  That was really nice of them! 

Lily and I went up for awards.  We got 4th, NA got 1st ,and Open got 1st.  We went to Coco’s too.

Dad called.  He said starting next week he’d give me $20 a month for a foal!  I wonder if that will actually happen?

We had Championships on Saturday and we came in 5th place. Our team was was hoping to get at least 3rd this year. A lot of us were sad but our coach talked to us and she said she didn't care that we got 5th all she cared about was the fact that we had fun out on the floor and we gave it our all and that we did the best that we can!!

I understand this mighty well. I am so glad your coach had that perspective! I completely agree with her~

Pride of Cincinnati 2012 - Preaching To The Choir

So our preview show (in my opinion) was great! The judges told us that we are doing really good and even went as far as to say that right now this year looks the best over the last three years. I am so happy, plus my friends and I's toss turn around and catch was pretty much perfect witch is a rarity and the only two times I dropped I had perfect recovery time. Although my first drop was in my quad solo, but my mom didn't even notice I dropped so I guess that is good. But I am really excited for this year! We are having our first competition next Saturday~ Oh, and I also never dropped the sabre or flag once.
