Ok final boss idea: an angel that suffers from delusions with a savior complex obsessed with the idea of restarting the world and guiding her believers to “the light” (excruciating world ending destruction)
AN INTERESTING IDEA !!!!!!! the current final boss beta actually isnt that far off from this idea!!! (im not sure if ive ever rambled about the witch king/final boss so here it is!!)
the tldr version of what the final bad guy is supposed to be is that its the first witch king who went through too much shit and also has too much power given to him by the gods of the stars, whose big ideal is that he wants to essentially cleanse the world of anyone who doesnt have magic !!!
from what i see it as in my head right now, magic was originally supposed to be used to HELP humankind (heal sickness, flourish crops, make life easier, etc), but something something selfish human nature, basically non-magic users got jealous and greedy and it turned into one of those "they have too much power, gotta kill them before they realize this and kill us first" kinda things that sparked a decades long war between the witches kingdom and other kingdoms. said witch king lost too many people he loved in the process (and you know how witches are with their love), so eventually the witch king went "fuck it, youre right" and DID go and kill everyone. decided "fuck those guys, we're gonna make it so that theres just no more normal humans left to eliminate this conflict altogether for now and for the future. everyone will have magic and the world will be better"
the cat witch at the time was his right hand and of course didnt agree with the idea at all. thought they should just suffer through the conflict instead of going scorched earth. and USUALLY when a witch goes off the rails (at least from what mochi knows in her time), theres a thing called the divine wrath of the stars where the gods strike you down (not subtly) for breaking your oath to not take life of another, but this didnt happen with the witch king and no one really knew why.,.. (some people think the gods of the stars loved him too much and couldnt do it)
either way, the cat witch tried to rally the other of the 5 major witches (crow/snake/frog/spider) to go against him, but the plan fell apart and the most she could do is use up all her power to seal him away. (quick aside: these 5 were the first witchs guild - the guild of the dragon witch king, so the title "the cat witchs guild" references mochis guild with her friends as well as the guild mochi HERSELF IS IN!!! the collective power of the guild is supposed to match the power of its respective witch for this purpose, in case said witch needs to be stopped, so she wouldve needed the other 4 to fully take him down)
another beta idea connected to this is that there was no time limit on when the seal would break, but the seal becomes weaker anytime you use the dragon witches magic, which later became the "dark/forbidden" magic!! i think ive mentioned before that there is no magic thats inherently evil, but there is magic that you shouldnt use and this is the reason. (timeline-wise, i think its when mochi uses that forbidden magic to save lime that the seal really starts to become undone. that was one of the last cracks in the glass, the beginning of the end)
for thousands of years following there were prophecies written that were supposed to point to warning signs of the witch kings return, one of the big ones being that there will be magic overflow in the witches of the time hes supposed to come (this is also the reason mochis magic is so powerful and grows beyond what tiramisu or pom thought it would. the way witches describe it is that the magic is trying to prepare (compensate?) mochi and the other witches for whats to come, equipping them with what they need, if you will!! murda and the other 5 also grew with unnaturally high magic power)
lime, while he acknowledges the gods of the stars probably exist, really doesnt like them during this whole thing going on. hes really pissed off that they did not follow their word to lay their divine wrath on the king when they shouldve and now mochi has to shoulder the problem, and he also hates that theyre using mochi and the rest of the witches to solve a problem they could do themselves. he has a whole thing against the stars, but unfortunately i dont think any of them ever have a chance to confront them. its going to be like that scene in botw where zelda is praying in the pool and the goddess remains silent. "oh, to know the hearts of the gods, something we puny and stupid mortals will never understand." he says in a bitter tone.....
(there was a very last component to the final conflict that im not sure i wanna go through with yet but its a beta idea: basically the witch kings power has grown so powerful over the years that his lifespan is connected to the magic itself, and they find out that killing him will essentially kill every magic being/user in the world too. but letting him live would mean the death of every non-magic creature, so then they get faced with the impossible choice of well, do we kill all magic creatures or all non-magic creatures - and this is still in beta because i havnt found a resolution to this that i liked yet)
#THAT WAS LONG !!!!!1#i really cant remember if i ever talked about this#but thats the very last arc#i know the obvious answer to that last aside is probably save him with the power of friendship and change his mind but#somehow i dont think thats possible#it would be very funny to see the witch king walking around in a hoodie and just hanging out though#i think about that sometimes#``i see the error of my ways and will not kill everyone. anyway whats a Wendys?``#rides around on his fucking 4 story tall dragon familiar#yeah thats issues on its own#bpp#text#lore

peach’s summer book list
i had a lot of fun compiling the list of books i read during the 20-21 winter, so i decided i would do a summer one as well! i still have a lot of books i own but haven’t read, so im definitely not lacking in material
if you didn’t see my winter list, how my book list works is basically like this: i read a book that i own but have not previously read, write a short summary immediately after finishing the book, write down my thoughts on the book, and then provide a rating for the book. i also might include background info on why i read this particular book/feelings about the author, but that depends on the book. that’s how each entry works
without further ado, let’s get started!
1. Grasshopper Jungle by Andrew Smith
okay so i absolutely adore another book by andrew smith (written after grasshopper jungle) called the alex crow. it’s one of my favorite books of all time, so naturally i wanted to see if grasshopper jungle would make me feel similarly. just like the alex crow, grasshopper jungle’s plot is. so fucking weird. it stars austin szerba, a teenage polish kid who lives in ealing, iowa, and is often sexually confused regarding his girlfriend shann and his best friend robby. and in ealing, iowa, austin and robby accidentally and unknowingly unleash an unstoppable army of huge six-foot-tall praying mantis bugs that only want to do two things: fuck and eat. and i just have to say: andrew smith’s got an absolutely dynamo writing style. alex crow is similar, where it’s a book about kind of everything all at once, framed in a moment centering around teenage boys. it’s fantastic, and it’s more than a little gross, and i love it. this book made me feel so many things, and i thought austin was such an amazing narrator and main character to identify with. this book has it all: shitty teenage boy humor, fucked up science experiments, and poetic imagery that will make you want to cry. and explicit lgbt characters.
412/10 andrew smith what do you put in your water i just want to know
2. Burn by Patrick Ness
patrick ness has written a plethora of some of my favorite books (such as a monster calls, the chaos walking trilogy, and the rest of us just live here) so when i saw this one in the store i knew it would be a great one. burn is an alternate history fantasy that takes place in 1957 frome, washington, during the height of the cold war, and it begins with a girl named sarah and her father hiring a dragon to help out on their farm. but there’s not just dragons, farm living, and cold war tensions; there’s also a really shitty small town cop, a cult of dragon worshippers and their deadly teenage assassin, a pair of fbi agents, and a prophecy that sarah’s newly hired dragon claims she’s a part of. i think eoin colfer’s highfire was on my winter list, which also featured a story that included dragons and shitty cops, so when i first began burn i thought it was funny to have two books that had both things. you know, if you had a nickel etc etc. but that’s really where the similarities end because burn is entirely it’s own monster (dragon). burn is entirely invested in its world, and its fascinating. not only that, i had no clue where the book would take me next. there were so many surprises and amazing twists that honestly just blew me away. this book also includes beautifully written complicated discussions on family, race, and love - it features interracial and queer romances as the two most prominent romance plots which was such a nice surprise from a book i wasn’t expecting to have that kind of representation. this book is witty, fast-paced, and a very heartening read - i absolutely adored it.
9/10 dragons and becoming motivated by the power of love and friendship are so fucking cool
3. As Meat Loves Salt by Maria McCann
i hate this book! as meat loves salt is a historical fiction novel which takes place in seventeenth century england, which is going through a grisly civil war. the protagonist, jacob cullen, is a servant for a wealthy household and is engaged to another servant in the house. but due to certain events that are almost entirely jacob’s fault, he flees the house and is separated from his wife. from there, he joins the royal army and meets a kind soldier, ferris, and the two become fast friends. jacob and ferris’s relationship begins to bridge past friendly, and jacob struggles with his homoerotic feelings as well as the growing obsession and violence inside him. also, they try to start a colony. listen, i don’t know how to describe the book because so much happens, but it basically just follows jacob and all the terrible decisions he makes because he is, truly, a terrible person. ferris is kind and good, and jacob is scum of the earth. he sucks so bad. the entire time i was reading this book (which took absolutely so long), all i wanted was for jacob to just get his ass handed to him. i wanted to see him suffer. and it’s not like i just personally don’t like him - i believe the book purposefully depicts him as unsympathetic even though he is the narrator. i did enjoy the very in depth and accurate portrayal of what life would’ve been like in seventeenth century england, and i think it was interesting to read a character that is just the absolute worst person you’ve ever encountered and see him try and justify his actions, so if you enjoy that kind of thorough writing, then this book would be perfect for you. however, i did not see that bitch ass motherfucker jacob cullen suffer enough. i’d kill him with my bare hands.
2/10 diversity win! the worst man on earth is mlm!
4. This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab
i know ive had a friend tell me how great one of schwab’s other book series is, but truthfully i bought this book because the cover is sick as hell and it was on a table in the store that advertised for buy two get one free, i think. something like that. anyway, this savage song takes place in a future in which monsters, for whatever reason, suddenly became real and out for blood in a mysterious event nicknamed the phenomenon. august flynn is one of these monsters, but he takes no pride in that fact and only wants to feel human. kate harker is the daughter of a ruthless man and is trying her hardest to be ruthless, too, but deep down she knows it’s just an act. their city, verity, stands divided, and kate and august stand on either side - but when august is sent on a mission to befriend kate in the hopes of stopping an all out war, the lines begin to blur. this book rules. august and kate are such interesting and dynamic characters, and the narrative is familiar while still being capable of twisting the story around and taking the feet out from under you in really compelling ways. this savage song is part of the monsters of verity duology, and i can’t wait to dive into how the story continues and finishes.
11/10 sometimes you can judge a book by it’s cover
4a. Our Dark Duet by Victorian Schwab
this is the sequel and finale for this savage song and i’d figure i’d update everyone: fantastic ending, beautiful, showstopping, painful.
12/10 loved it and will definitely be keeping an eye out for schwab’s other books
5. White is for Witching by Helen Oyeyemi
oh boy. okay. white is for witching is about a house, and it is about the women who have lived inside of it. when her mother dies abroad, miranda silver begins to act strangely, and there’s nothing her father or her twin brother seem to be able to do about it. she develops an eating disorder and begins to hear voices in the silver family house, converted to a bed and breakfast by miranda’s dad; and she begins to lose herself in the house and the persistent presence of her family legacy. white is for witching switches perspective dizzingly and disorientingly between miranda, her twin eliot, miranda’s friend from school named ore, and the house itself. this story is a horror story as much as it as a tragedy as much as it is a romance as much as it is a bunch of other things. oyeyemi brings race, sexuality, nationality, and family into this story and forces you not to look away. this book is poetry.
(like i mentioned briefly, this book heavily deals with topics of race and closely follows miranda’s eating disorder. read responsibly, and take care of yourselves)
15/10 this book consumed me and i think i’ll have to read it another 10 more times to feel it properly
6. These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong
okay. okay. strap in for a ride. these violent delights is a romeo and juliet style story, taking place in glittering 1920’s shanghai. the city stands divided - not only between the foreign powers encroaching on chinese land, but also between the scarlet gang and the white flowers, who are at the height of a generations-long blood feud. juliette cai, heir to the scarlets, has recently returned from four years abroad and is determined to prove herself ruthless enough to lead. roma montagov, heir to the white flowers, is standing strenuously on his place as next in line due to a slip up four years prior and is desperate to keep hold of his title. and in the midst of juliette and roma’s burning history with each other threatening to combust, an unnatural monster lurks in the waters of shanghai, loosing a madness on scarlets and white flowers alike. this book has it all - scorned ex lovers, political intrigue, deadly monsters, and all set on a glamorous backdrop of the roaring twenties. i absolutely was enraptured by this book and the way it plays around the story of romeo and juliet so well that it easily became it’s own monster, but with the punches and embraces of something classically shakespearan. gong does just an absolutely breathtaking job of fitting this fantastical story amid the larger world of shanghai and the real life historical events that had shaken the city to its core. completely immersive and outstandingly heart racing.
17/10 i was chewing on my fingernails for the last thirty pages and will continue to do so until the sequel is released (our violent ends, 16 nov 21)
7. The Antiques by Kris D’Agostino
you ever heard of the american dysfunctional family story? this is most definitely that. at the same time george westfall’s cancer takes a turn for the worse, a hurricane hits the east coast, and suddenly all at once the issues of his health, the hurricane, and all three of his children’s achingly dysfunctional adult lives are crashing into each other. reunited by george’s death, the westfall siblings have to face their grief, each other, and the problems in their own lives they attempted to put on hold while planning their father’s memorial. this is a nice story about grief and loss and love and somehow finding the humor amidst it all.
(this book does include a depiction of an autistic child who does experience several pretty bad meltdowns due to ignorant people around him not understanding how to cater to his needs. im not an authority on what depictions are or are not harmful, but i do believe this depiction is ultimately loving and well-intended.)
7/10 it made me laugh and cry and was generally one of those books that somehow hit you close to home
8. Fierce Fairytales by Nikita Gill
fierce fairytales is a poetry anthology that reimagines classic fairytales from a modern, feminist viewpoint, acknowledging that the line between hero and villain, monster and damsel, are not as clear cut as the classics try to make you believe. this book also includes illustrations done by the author herself, which i think is really cool. my personal favorite story reimagining was the story of peter pan and captain hook, called ‘boy lost’ which looked at how peter and hook’s relationship began and rotted. all in all, i think this collection of stories had a lot of important things to say and said them in frank, easy to understand poetry and prose.
7/10 beautiful message and pretty prose, but at times a little cliche
and that’s all from the summer! my fall semester starts tomorrow, and overall i feel very good about all the reading i did this summer. i even read four other books not on this list for work! so i definitely feel like i made the most out of my time, and im really glad i was able to read so many stories that made me feel a variety of different things
thanks so much for reading this list, and let me know if you read or have read any of these books and tell me what you think of them!
happy reading<3

Pitchwoods and Darker Dismay (Part 4 of Dragonshifter Shouto x Reader)
I left a little choice at the end of this part and it is to encourage engagement! I'm excited to see what you will choose, because these choices will greatly alter the path of our story.p
Tw: yandere themes, blood
2.5k words
The mist that hung around clinging to your skin and the humidity thickened with the coming morning. Sero slept and you were left alone after you had calmed down. Denki was sleeping where you had been now, using the spot that you had essentially warmed for him.
At least everyone was getting rest, but it would be best if you woke one of them to help keep watch soon. Mina would be a good candidate. Your eyes feel heavy as you leaned up against the tree you sat by, the roots cradling you a bit. The thorns along the bark couldn't penetrate the cloak as you hummed quietly. The night so quiet and calm.
Then you heard it. It was a pulse, thudding and gushing. Like you were in the heart of a massive beast. Moving to sit up, you saw a movement, a strong smell in the air. Like the trees intensified, like they were oozing and looming. Caging you. It hadn't occurred to you that your breathing was heavier and your eyes were so heavy.
Everything began to feel fuzzy as you saw a dark form dart through the trees. Two forms… Your eyes were playing tricks on you. You tried to shake yourself awake, but it didn't make your head clear. It just made you dizzier as you called out, "Who's there?"
You heard a whisper below the light crackle of dying flames nearby. Quickly turning, you went to the sleeping group, but found nothing there. No fire, no sleeping warriors, no one.
You looked back out into the forest. Where you finally saw him. The black cloak and purple hair beneath the hood caught your eyes as he came into plain view. His pale hand reaching out to you. When had he gotten so close? How hadn't you noticed...
Your eyes looking down to the slightly sharpened nails before they touched your cheek, trailing to your jaw. His hand grabbed your chin and tilted it up, purple eyes looking beautiful in the night. Bags under his eyes adding complexity to his alluring features. Elven. A dark elf..
His mouth was moving, he was telling you something.
"Tell me, what are you doing in this forest?" His voice commanding you and making you want to just nuzzle against him, tell him all your secrets.
"We're just- just passing through…" The voice that came out of you was hollow, not sounding like yourself at all. Your insides curl in on themselves. The sick ooze within you twisting like worms.
"Where are you going?" He hummed, his eyes looking down on you with the tired appraising look. Examining you, sizing you up and staring into your mind almost. It left you trembling inwardly. Your inner self shaking like a terrified child.
"Somewhere safe for me, out east. Away from the Todoroki dragon territory." You told him the truth and it horrified you.
"Interesting… Running from dragons or their followers?"
"Shoto… A dragon. I need to get away from him..." That small voice from your mouth was quiet and sad.
"Ah, a dragon. Even more intriguing. I will let you go now, but before I do… Your singing tonight was lovely and I would love to one day hear it again. Maybe you will no longer scream in the night when that day comes. My mentor almost wanted to strangle you when he heard it." The purple haired man chuckled. He was a dark elf. The very faint purple-gray tint of his skin and his pointed ears that sat under the hood. "I hope that you do not die."
Your eyes stung and a warm tear dropped onto your hand, the spell broke. You jerked away and the purple haired man was gone. Stumbling, your head spun as you twisted to go back to Denki. To the group. The place where the little troupe had been sleeping...
You turned to see no fire, no signs of where you had been. Just the haunting forest. Looming black barked trees. You had to be close… Unless that man had spirited you away. There was never any walking or moving, but you only remembered look at him. Being under his control and focussing only on what he wanted you to focus on. You moved on through the trees, calming a bit, wrapping the yellow cloak tighter around you. It was warm and the lingering smell of the blonde who had lent it to you still clung to the fabric
You feel almost helpless as you walk on, not seeing the camp. A lump in your throat, unshed tears and a wish inside you to just collapse onto the autumn leaves scattered across the ground.
The longer you walked, the more tired you got and you hadn't been exactly on a fuel tank when you had been whisked away.
Your stomach growled as you walked on. Feet aching and eventually sweat falling from your face. The cold making you clammy. It was an uncomfortable sensation as you put your hand out to rest against a tree, pricking yourself on the thorns and yelping quite loudly at the pain.
Blood now trickled down from the palm of your right hand and onto the already blood red leaves. Blending and mixing with it.
You hissed, but you could taste something in the air. A familiar smell, it made you stiffen. It was smoke.
It was wood burning. You looking through the trees, gauging whether you were going to be walking into a forest fire or not, but you saw no smoke rising in heavy streams towards the sky. Just a single, small string on the blue of late morning sky.
You began to jog, despite your aching muscles that were already proving just how unathletic you were and how used you were to riding in the wagon. It was a bit pitiful. You were weak and you would have to work on getting stronger.
That was when you saw the fireplace built into the base of a tree and a table set for a feast. It would be alarming by itself, but two figures sat at the table. Seeming to have been waiting just for you. Food laid out in a sort of bounty. It all smelled delicious and would probably taste just as good. You knew not to take it immediately. You didn't know these elves.
And you would have recognized that purple hair anywhere. Fuck that guy.
The elf from last night.
Your blood boiled a bit as you went to give him a piece of your mind and then the other male dark elf spoke.
"Would you like to sit down at the table? You're late. Sit across from Hitoshi." His tone was tired and it was like he was burdened by just being in your presence.
It was this moment that you noticed the large lower half of his body was that of a spider. A drider. Usually they were loners… You had bever met one or seen one, but you feel your blood running cold as you remembered every single horror story that you had heard about the species. Eating people, filling them with eggs, using them as unwilling incubators… Only to have their young hatch within you and eat you from the inside out! Maybe that was not a factual story, but the other things were highly unpleasant.
"I'm… Late!? How exactly does that make any sense? Didn't really get an invite." You growl before marching over to the table, slamming your injured hand onto it in a moment of irrational irritation. Crying out, you saw the crimson staining the white table cloth and you feel tears fall from your eyes. It hurt like a bitch. You regretted doing that, holding your hand close to you as it throbbed with pain. "Good Gods! Fuck..."
Neither of the men got up, but Hitoshi, the purple haired man from the night, looked up before going back to his glass of tea.
It annoyed you that neither was phased. You moved to the seat and pulled it out. A plate sat at the spot, prepared for you.
The dark haired man sighed, looking more than ready for you to leave, "Are you always this loud? You're getting blood on the table as well."
He gestured to the stains on the table cloth, one currently forming beneath your hand.
"It can be washed anytime, but my hand needs looked or else I may get an infection." You insist, showing the rather deep gash you had gotten from the thorn and the little scratches from others. The Drider looked at it and to Hitoshi.
"That is a rather deep cut, go get something to help her."
He quickly got up and went to a box on a stump to pull out a needle and thread. The drider poured you a cup of tea as Hitoshi came over to you, reaching for your hand as you clutched it to your chest. Eyeing the needle wearily before he just held his own hand out, waiting for you to hand it over.
The tea placed by you was the least of your concerns as Hitoshi went to stab you with the needle and paused. "You may want to drink some tea before I do this. It'll not hurt nearly as much."
"Wait, is it magic?"
"It's something."
Smartass.
You eyed it before taking it in your left hand to sniff it. Hitoshi not moving to stitch you until you drank it. It wasn't tea. It had a strong smell, like alcohol. That was definitely not something you put in a teacup. You coughed at the burning in your throat and tried to pull your hand away, but the needle pierced your flesh… You screamed out, the eyes of both men widening quite a lot as you swayed like a too tall stack of dirty dishes ready to shatter on the ground from being neglected to pile for too long.
You blacked out, face slamming into the table.
When you woke up though...
Your body was on a pile of leaves. Some were scattered on you and late evening sun warmed you as it set in the distance. Groaning, you stretched. Pain went through your hand as you looked at the dried blood on you. On the yellow cloak as well. Guilt shot through you, knowing that you would have to give the cloak back dirty… If you ever saw Denki again.
You were up with the tree that had been previously serving as a fireplace. And the table that had been there was gone. Only a fallen tree remained and it was littered with small white flowers growing on its dead bark.
Blood splattered part of it. You would think you hallucinated, but your hand was all stitched up. It was good stitching, but the pain was there. It looked like it had been cleaned while you were out and there was only relatively fresh blood on your hand. Liquid and clear ooze coming from the cut, at least you were going to start healing yourself. Sooner or later you would be back to grabbing things without pain.
If you ever saw any of them again, really. They must be still looking for you. Wasting a day's worth of travelling because you were stupid enough to think you could handle guarding the ones who saved you by yourself. It was stupid to think you could.
The leaves were poking into your back uncomfortably, forcing you to get up. The joints in your legs popping when you stretched them out. It was a relief to have the sensation. A groan softly escaping you. The life in the forest was unseemly quiet as the sun set. It was unnatural. Even on the plateau, there was constant buzzing. Magic or insects, you couldn't tell really.
The sky was red and orange, full of rich color and beauty. Painted by an expert artist as the clouds drifted across the open air. Walking, you found you were lower into the valley than you had been prior to passing out. You could look up and see the looming ridges in the distance. Snow would cap them and ice would form over the creeks and streams. They would melt in spring and flow into the valley. Watering the inhabitants and blooming new life.
It would be behind you before you knew it. You would be free. There was going to be an ending to this adventure and you hoped you never saw another dragon again. Something deep within you twisted with sadness at that thought, knowing that it was unlikely. An awful sensation within yourself at the idea of being doomed.
The trees were smaller as you went, less intimidating and ominous. More greenery littering the landscape as you left the pitchwoods. Black trees looming in the distance, foreboding as you would soon be forced out into the plains. Wide stretches and no coverage for you to use for protection.
No more dark elves or driders, just lovely green forest. More pines going north as you changed your direction a bit, adjusting as you saw large rocks. Three in a semicircle and a couple stacked together. It looked like it had been built rather than formed naturally. Still, it was a relatively interesting sight. Curiosity overcoming you as you went to it. It could make a good camp for the night if nothing else.
You moved down to the rocks and your foot slid along the pebbles. Sliding down, you barely manage to keep your balance as you swiftly move to catch yourself with your uninjured hand the large rock on the edge of the forest. You look to see a small tent. You quickly did a double take. It was a camp.
There was a campfire and various belongings. Bedrolls and a makeshift roof. Some group was living here. You could hardly stop the shiver that ran through you as you looked a bed laden with knives, all were spotless. Though, you heard and saw the buzzing of flies as they circled something behind the cot.
A large discarded bowl of meat, uncooked and bloody. It wasn't rotten. It made you shiver at the sight, knowing that whoever had been here was recently cleared out by something or someone.
A pile of dust got picked up slightly by the wind and it was then that you noticed some of the things were turned over and scattered. No one had cleaned up or they had gotten into a scuffle.
A torn scrap of bloody cloth sat on the ground, slightly scorched.
You moved over to the fire and made to touch the ashes. They were warm. Now your hand was covered in ashes. Dipshit.
Wiping them on a bedroll, you frowned and stared out at the rolling hills with trees dotted along them. You could could continue into the forest, or you could rummage through the camp… There was a twinge of guilt at the thought of stealing, but you had nothing. The forest was not likely to be as plentiful as this opportunity before you and it most definitely would lack a fire. Plus night was coming. You would need to sleep… Where would you sleep?
Are you going to stay here at this camp?
Or
Go in the forest with nothing?

Etched Pt. 6
♡ jimin x reader
♡ smut, mafia!au
♡ just story this time~
—
Jimin takes you to the ball and you meet your father.
—
| Part 1 (M) | Part 2 (M) | Part 3 (M) | Part 4 | Part 5 (M) | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 (M) | Part 9 (M) | Part 10 |
As usual, I was blindfolded until halfway through the ride. When we arrived at the ball, it was already busy with people all dressed up and glamourous. I recognized many celebrities and some people I had seen come and go from my house before.
“I don’t want to have to say this but please stay with me at all times, Princess.” Jimin said, a hint of a warning in his tone. I stared him and he didn’t let up until I nodded slowly.
“Today isn’t the day to try anything. I trusted you and am letting you out of the house as you wished.” I merely nodded back at his words.
“Okay, good, let’s go show everyone how beautiful you are.” He said, and the tension in the air dissipated as he gave me a warm smile. This man was definitely dangerous.
We were greeted warmly by the butlers at the entrance, who took our coats. Jimin walked in confidently and slowly, and I noticed his presence commanded a lot of attention. Not that I blame him because he was truly one of the most beautiful human beings I’d ever seen in my life. My hand rested in the nook of his arm comfortably and he put his hand on top of mine reassuringly.
“I know it’s your first time at such an event.” He said, walking over to the bartender. “Just keep close to me. You don’t have to speak if you don’t want to. I’ll do the talking for you.”
He ordered a raspberry champagne for me, winking at me as he passed me the drink, making me blush instantly, knowing that this drink had caused quite a... situation. He had ordered his usual merlot red, and we made our rounds. So far, I had not seen my father or any of his close associates around.
“Mr Park!” A gruff old man came up to us enthusiastically, greeting Jimin warmly. Jimin smiled and greeted the man with two hands.
“Mr Hyun, nice to see you again. It’s been a long time.” Jimin chuckles. Once the greeting was over, Jimin’s hand drops immediately to your waist. He wasn’t kidding when he said you would have to stick to him the whole evening.
The conversation was rather boring, just about some trade situations. Mr Hyun laughed at something then patted Jimin on the shoulder, nodding to me and then went on his way. This happened several times through the night, especially after the Secretary of State gave all of us a short speech and cordially welcomed the attendees to the ball.
Jimin and I were in a corner of the room chuckling about a few people’s dress choices for the night when suddenly, a blonde woman came rushing at Jimin.
“Jiminnn~” She whined as she clung to his arm. “It’s been soooo long!” Jimin’s eyes flashed uneasily and this made me curious. Normally, Jimin would never react to anything without confidence.
“Soohyun.” Jimin greeted her slightly coldly, freeing his arm from her grasp.
“Ah, you’re so cold to me. Is this how you treat someone who shared your bed rece-“ She was stopped short when Jimin glared at her harshly. As if I was shot, I realized she and Jimin had probably slept together. Recently at that. I eyed her cautiously; blonde hair, definitely not naturally straight. She was tall, slender and fashionable. Probably a model. A pang of irrational jealousy coursed through my body but I tried to cut the emotion loose.
“As you can see, I have company tonight.” Jimin said, pulling me closer.
She suddenly looked at me with a pissed off expression. She cocked her head to the side and very evidently judged me.
“Who are you, again?” She said, sneering at me. Her eyes raked my face and body.
“That’s none of your business, Soohyun.” Jimin said, placing a hand on my back. I didn’t know if it was to calm me down or to subtly tell me to not go ape shit on her ass.
“You’re not bad. But you aren’t his type.” She said, folding her arms. “I’ll bet you’re just a shy little virgin that can’t satisfy Jimin.” I forced myself to not spit insults in her face even though I could feel them bubbling under my tongue.
“You’d be surprised.” Jimin said with a smile, looking at me. I immediately flushed. With a scoff, the angry blonde stormed off, leaving us two again.
“Sorry you had to see...that.” Jimin said, tousling his hair, an action I noticed he did when he was feeling slightly uncomfortable or nervous.
“So that’s your normal type huh, models.” I cocked my head to the side, folding my arms.
“I slept with her to get information out of her.” He said, running his fingers down my cheek to my chin, tilting it up to look at him.
“Jealous?” He smirked slightly.
“Definitely not.” I huffed, attempting to move my chin out of his grasp, but he held me firmly, leaning in to kiss me but a familiar voice rang out from behind him.
“Park.” A growl emitted from behind Jimin. As Jimin turned, I came into full view of my father. I was frozen to my spot. As soon as my father laid eyes on me, I could tell he was seething mad.
“You- we will talk when we’re home.” He hissed. “Come.” He beckoned for me to go to him but I felt Jimin’s hand on my waist tighten.
“Princess.” Jimin murmured. His voice had an undertone of danger laced with honey. He sounded sweet but I knew it was a warning.
“What are you doing just standing there, Y/N?” My father snapped at me. “I said come.” I was too frozen, unable to move because I couldn’t decide. My mind screamed at me to run to my father and make sure I get the chance to go home. But my heart had made its decision.
“You won’t try anything here, Kwon.” Jimin said nonchantly. “Green Dragon Clan has a lot to lose if you cause a scene. Secretary of State already has his eye on you, so I’d suggest not doing anything stupid here.” My father lunged forward wanting to hit Jimin but one of his men or associates held him back.
“...Unless you give me what I want.” Jimin said, walking slowly towards my angered father. “Then she’ll be free to go with you.”
“Fuck you, Park.” My father hissed. “You know even doing this is futile.” What were they even talking about.
“I will succeed. Even without your cooperation.” Jimin’s cool facade finally broke and I saw his face curl up into a snarl. “So you can leave now.” My father straightened himself out and stared at me, now with undecipherable eyes. The same eyes that Jimin occasionally stared at me with.
“Don’t hurt her.” Was all he said, never breaking eye contact with me.
“...you know I won’t, Kwon.” Jimin said in a small voice. My father looked defeated, giving me one last look then disappeared into the crowd with two men following behind him.
What the hell just happened?

Story starter meme
Rules: List the first lines of your last 15 stories. See if there are any patterns. Then tag 10 of your favourite authors!
I was tagged by @blackkatmagic
Uhhh okay you guys I’m going to use some WIPs too because. Otherwise I won’t have enough stories I actually /like/.
1. (untitled, current WIP, Set in the “I can’t believe you dropped incubus!Obito in a magic floating orgy house, Tim” universe)
Madara lives in a house of monsters, mages and demons. Most of the time he doesn’t mind.
2. Made of breath and skin (also a WIP, for the Secret Ship twin fic Race with @blackkatmagic)
There are certain things that make a man fear for his life. Hurricanes, deep space, the depths of the sea, the concept of not existing, a desperate man with a sharp knife--
Senju Tobirama, making an interested noise from across the breakfast table, just after you’ve swept into the kitchen and grabbed the first cup of coffee you saw, even if it was in your older brother’s hand at the time.
Ignoring Madara’s noise of betrayal, Izuna rounds on Tobirama with wide eyes, empty mug clutched tight in his hand.
3. So softly it starts
Belle makes a deal with a devil.
She had summoned him, as politely as possible-- an invitation, rather than a demand, and hadn’t that been fun to cobble together out of illicit dark magic spell books-- and he had appeared, more curious than angry.
4. what it’s like to be alive
It isn’t the first time. It isn’t even the thirty-first time, in the month that followed the final battle. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom at the edges of the river, the wind is blowing sweet, and the field where Sasuke grows his fucks is barren, barren, barren because--
Naruto, nosing into his neck like a dying man, inhaling the scent of him, crowding him into the wall of their kitchen without regard for propriety or personal space.
5. everything my spirit longs to have fulfilled
Sakura’s eyes flew open in shock, jaw dropping, lips forming a little ‘o’ in surprise.
“Oh,” She said, wondrous, riding it out.
Tenten laughed, bold and breathless, head thrown back and brazen in her pleasure. Her hands tightened on Sakura’s hips as she thrust up, and up, meeting every downward cant.
The hold was firm, and hot, and Sakura herself was practically boiling, chest heaving with exertion as the aftershocks danced down what felt like every nerve ending she had.
6. We like things related to our survival
Naruto and Kurama are two spirits in one body, and if one of them has inhabited the flesh longer it’s not by much . Honestly, the skin-prison spent months gestating with Kurama curled protectively around it and Naruto’s spirit only entered it towards the end, anyway.
For a brief, screaming half-hour, the soul that is Naruto wore his body alone, cold-wrong-lonely- wrong .
Then Kurama was nestled safe right next to his heart again, their essences mingling but remaining disjoint, autonomous.
7. A thrill of joy prophetic
Touka can pinpoint the exact moment her world shatters.
It just... happens. Without warning, without word, as she’s fuming at her stupid, green clan head for mourning an enemy and, more to the point, blaming her favorite cousin for defending his life.
She’s not even aware of it, is the thing. Senju fall like leaves in this war, but by some miracle none of Touka’s precious people have died by her side. Her parents, of course, when she was too young to remember, and besides that countless aunts and uncles and cousins and kin, but--
None of hers since she was old enough to fight beside them, old enough to let her chakra cloak her in anger and take outlet for her rage at the tides of their unstoppable foes on the battlefield.
She can pinpoint the exact moment her entire world shatters, and it is a star winking out instead of going supernova.
8. The Ecological Fallacy
After much screaming, confusion, a fair bit of yelling and several objects being thrown, Belle sat red-faced on her sofa.
She fixed tea with sure motions and she at least would traverse this with proper decorum and the dignity behooving a wizard of her station.
Across from her, wrapped with an air of confusion and amusement in the couch’s afghan and nothing else, the long-haired otherbeing she’d somehow summoned raised an eyebrow.
9. Silver tigers in the moonlight, running
Madara’s breath fans out, hot and visible. He breathes in frigid air and pushes it slowly out of his nose. Like smoke, it curls up. Like he’s a dragon, almost; irritable and with fire curled ready in his gut. Or his lungs?
He certainly inhales enough smoke.
He is, Tobirama notes, mythical enough to qualify. Magical enough. In his head, he tries for scathing or dry and fails. Even the thought’s tone shifts to faintly reverent.
He can never, ever, compliment Madara aloud. Tobirama chews his lip, chapped from the cold, and leans his head back with a sigh. It touches metal cold enough to feel through his hair. It spills out white against the grey door of the crappy car Touka had pawned off on him, all razor smiles and sharp insistence.
10. These Hues Yet Hard to Hold
Kurama looks ridiculous with a small patch of bright orange fur. It clashes with his crimson pelt instead of blending in, stands out proudly, draws the eye. His own fist dyed Naruto’s red the day they became allies in full.
Sasuke’s lips are obnoxiously, permanently, vividly orange. The color is so opaque that no flesh is visible beneath it.
11. An Evening Well-Spent
“I can’t imagine being forced to stay at Private Drive,” Harry offered, looking at the heavy furnishings and high, cobwebbed ceilings in a new light.
Sirius looked a heartbeat away from doing some follow up questions on that little nugget. Harry intervened quickly.
His wand flicked to his hand with a thought and he grinned, ruby glinting from the ring on his finger. After all, it was just the two of them.
“I,” He declared, twirling the wand as soon as he was sure he had his godfather’s full attention, “am a legal adult. You know what legal adults can do?”
Sirius’ eyes followed the motion curiously.
“Magic?”
“ Magic .”
12. Battle Hymn of Trees
In Team 7’s—the last Team 7’s, the best Team 7’s, her Team 7’s—generation, they figure it out.
13. Heir of Fire
For as long as he can remember, Harry Potter has dreamed.
Not the same dream, over and over again, but the same lifetimes. He grows up and a blonde haired child grows parallel to him, always running, always smiling.
The city-- village-- is always the same. It’s beautiful and breathtaking. Trees surround it and the buildings aren’t quite tall enough to match. It’s full of familiar faces, still as small as he is, but he sees them and thinks: precious.
14. Trial by Fire
Harry Potter planned to spend the hour’s drive back to Little Whinging trying not to think of anything. His relatives had fallen into their usual routine of pretending he didn’t exist. They ignored him and conversed amongst themselves as though the trip to London had nothing to do with him.
15. eudipleural
The Elric brothers never needed the drift.
It’s a fact, for all that it’s consistently looked over in light of their ever growing and ever more incredible list of achievements.
One alchemist alone cannot pilot a Jaeger.
Two alchemists need to transmute together; they need the drift for that. They need the drift for that.
Fin! Wow, that’s a lot of fics. I’m kind of impressed with myself. Uh, I don’t really see a pattern. Anyone else? I usually start out describing scenery or situations and not dialogue.
I guess I kind of like describing a scene and then explaining it. Like, “Belle summons a demon” and then paragraphs on how/why. Fun, though!
I’m going to tag @fangirlandiknowit101, @lullabyknell, @thebibliosphere, @redhothollyberries if she hasn’t done it for Kat first, and any other of my writer friends who want to tap this!
