We always have a great time at the Ranger Dugout Club Golf Tournament, but this year in the midst of so much uncertainty and unrest, I’m reminded how blessed we are to not only be Rangers but also to live in Alva. The people of Alva (the ones who currently live here and the ones who used to live here but still come back and visit) are some of the kindest, most supportive, and most fun people I’ve ever known, and I don’t ever take that for granted. Being a coach’s wife for almost nine years and a girlfriend for 2 years before that), I’ve seen how different communities and alumni groups support their programs (not only the ones we’ve been apart of but ones our friends are apart of as well), and I have to say that I have never seen any school at our level have such a passionate outpouring of support for their baseball program—I don’t mean financially but emotionally. Rangers show up, and I hope that I carry that legacy on to others. ⚾️ So many people came out and played and helped and even just swung by to say hi, and I definitely didn’t get to take a picture or thank each one personally, but I hope you know how much you’re appreciated! When we started going to Voca Baptist Church in 2012, these girls were in middle school. They’re all grown up now, and though I have a hard time believing that much time has passed, I am not surprised by the intelligent, sweet, beautiful women they’ve grown into. It was so much fun to have them come see us this weekend and cheer on Ranger Baseball.(When they were both at the game today, we won, so they will now be expected at all Ranger games.) We had our team Christmas party last week, and it was a blast to see some of the funny sweaters our guys picked out.
