Round 1 of Rating the Riders : 2019 Qatar GP

AR42 - 8: i don’t know if it’s the hair or whatever he’s eating lately but Alex Rins was kicking everybody’s ass on the Suzuki!

JL99 - 6: i believe Jorge’s HRC deal had a few lines written in the smallest caracters ever telling that he wasn’t only taking Dani Pedrosa’s bike but his bad luck as well.

AD04 - 9: Just like last year, Dovi wins at Losail. We know how it ended last time but now that he has a secret weapon named Danilo can he REALLY finish ahead of Marquez in the standings ? 🤔

MM93 - 8: What kind or « nursing shoulder » shit were you expecting ?!

MV12 - 4: New Year. New Number. New Maverick. Same old crappy race start.

JM36 - 7: This new comer is not just here to be some kind of eye candy for the Ladies but to get sh$t done!

VR46 - 7: it looked promising at first. A FP1 straight outta 2008, Vale leading with Jorge on his tail. And then FP2 happened... Thanks God he’s still able to give it to Maverick during the race!

DP9 - 6: After a great bunch of winter tests, Danilo is now back to reality. The one which says that his only job is as simple as making sure Dovi is in front of him while blocking everybody else behind. Life as a number 2 sucks, right ?

CC35 - 8: we were just as relieved as Lucy to see Cal back on the podium!

FQ20 - 7: didn’t we all « awwww » when seeing Fabio cry in his box at the end of the race ? 19 years old guys, 19!

ROUND 2 OF RATING THE RIDERS: 2019 ARGENTINA GP

MM93 - 10: Impressive. Unbeatable. Maestro. Out of this world. Boys, they better watch how hard this guy is gonna hit them all in two weeks at Austin...

MV12 - 6: Yes he crashed but let's all keep in mind that, for once, he had a good start!

VR46 - 9: There will always be something magical about Valentino Rossi. He crossed the line 2nd and he celebrated it like he had won for the biggest pleasure of all the tifosi around the world.

JZ5 - 3: There's some signs that doesn't lie and right now facts are that Oliveira is doing better on that KTM than you Johann...

AD04 - 8: On a day where Marquez was unbeatable, the best Dovi could have done was 2nd. Except he did not even finished 2nd...

FQ20 - 7: Last time out Fabio was crying his eyes out, this time he wasn't. This time Fabio delivered one hell of a ride !

JL99 - 4: Remember Jorge's famous jumped start from the US GP ? Well this ArgentinaGP one will soon be as legend as the former one. Let's find a name for it: drawning start ? How to have a bad start in one lesson ? Mum, i hit the wrong button start ?

CC35 - 7: He moved. As harsh as it is, Cal did moved on that line. Now you can argue, maybe the penalty was too strong or maybe not, but the penalty was deserved, that's for sure.

RATING THE RIDERS: ROUND 16 - JAPAN

MM93 - 10: All Hail to King Marquez ! May his reign be even longer than Queen Elizabeth II !

VR46 - 7: The M1’s poor ambitions are outweighing Vale’s talent. And Lin isn’t doing anything about it !

AI29 - 3: The maniac crashed out of the race BUT THANKS GOD, he did not scratch his pretty Instagram worthy face.

AD04 - 7: One of the many differences between a Great Rider and a Champion has to be being able to deal with title pressure. Two years in a row that Andrea is lacking in that department... #atleasthetried

DP9 - 5: I’ll be honest, i did not even saw him during the race. Maybe i should have woken up for every session to see a glimpse of Danilo...

CC35 - 8: I’ve heard Cal sais he hoped to finish in front of Lorenzo in the standings to « show his value ». Has someone told him yet that Jorge hasn’t even been racing lately ? No ? Well...

SR45 - 3: We know you adore Marc, but that’s no reason to try and broke him so you could have him all for yourself buddy.. ;-)

AR42 - 8: Slowly but surely someone is finally getting there. And it’s a joy to see!

RATING THE RIDERS : ROUND 14 - ARAGON

MM93 - 10: *M a r c M a r q …* - Marc writing his name on the Tower of Champion’s trophy.

AE41 - 7: 6th place never felt this much like a race win ever before.

AI29 - 8: Andrea Iannone, from Instagram model to podium rider.

JL99 - 5: Pole position at Silverstone - Race cancelled, Pole position at Misano - Crash in the last laps, Pole position at Aragon - Crash in the first lap.The Lorenzo fan in me is hoping Jorge will not get another pole position anytime soon. #iseeapaternhere

DP26 - 7: I never hoped so much for so many engines to break at the same time than i did when i believed Dani had a chance to win this past Sunday.. #iknowiambad

VR46 - 6: “Allo ? You’re Yamaha’s Big Boss ? You’re fired !!” - Valentino, probably.

AR42 - 7: Every now and then, Alex makes sure to remind everybody what he can do.

MV25 - 4: Another race start that will go down in the “Worst Start Ever” records.

CC35 - 3: I’ve heard Cal blames Jorge for his crash. I don’t see how someone who was already out of the race could make him crash but i suppose it’s one of Lorenzo’s superpower !

RATING THE RIDERS: ROUND 11 - AUSTRIA

JL99 - 10: “If we fix the corner speed, fire Claudio and get Andrea back on a number 2 salary, do you think he’ll come back ?” - Davide, Gigi and Paolo, ploting for 2021 somewhere near Bologna...

CC35 - 8: This one only has one thing in mind: winning at Silverstone. 

MM93 - 9,5: Marc on Thursday: we need to think about the championship 

Also Marc: almost crashing out of the race, still block passing Lorenzo

MV25 - 3: So Maverick, dropping to 16 after the race start, who’s to blame for that this time ?

AD04 - 8: Even Grumpy cat wouldn’t master the face of desperation like Dovi did in the parc fermé

JM43 - 1: “Ducati track” they said.. “You’ll be fast” they said... #not

VR46 - 8: The old fox always has one last magic trick up his sleeve when race day comes

SR45 - 3: Scott was faster testing the new red Marc Marquez shoes on his instagram than while riding his aprilia during the race... #awkward 

DP9 - 7: Someone needs to tell Danilo that taking a tow from Andrea in every FP and QP sessions will simply never help him once race day comes...

RATING THE RIDERS: ROUND 10 - BRNO

AD04 -10: Back on the winning wagon and a 1-2 for Ducati! Something they better enjoy this season as i doubt they’ll get much of this next year.

MV25 - 1: I seriously doubt getting rid of Ramon Forcada will improve Maverick’s race start but who knows. #not

DP26 - 7: Seeing Dani first on Friday had our little fan heart explode with joy. Now finger crossed he can win another race before leaving us for good. #youarecryingnotus

JL99 - 10: Por Fuera, Por Dentro, Por Whatever you want, if even the most hardcore VR46 fans were cheering for you, that means you were doing well!

PE44 - 5: Congratulations to Pol on getting married! Congratulations to Carlotta on already having to play the nurse!

MM93 - 8: 100 MotoGP race and still all his teeth ! #BabyChampOntheRun

VR46 - 8: “ Alo ? Lin ? You’re fired ” - “ Valentino ? What the f.. *bip bip* ”

CC35 - 8: Cal did well. Willow must have been the happiest little nuggets in the paddock!

AB19 - 7: Alvaro never raced this well before. Sadly it’s seems to be too late…

AE41 - 5: A weekend to forget… At least he still can go home to his sweet little twins in one peace this time. And that’s all that matters !

RATING THE RIDERS: ROUND 7 - SPAIN (Catalunya)

JL99 - 10: Went from struggling to make it into the top 10 with a possible retirement to first pole position and back-to-back wins on the red beast with a whole new deal with THE MotoGP team, the one every rider dreams of... Least you can say is that our Jorge was pretty busy this month !

AD05 - 3: Dovi used to have quite a lot of bad luck. Then it all disappear last season. Was he cured of it ? Seems like nope.

MV25 - 5: Like i said to someone else last week, it's not even funny anymore to throw rocks at Maverick so we'll try something else, as i love me some underdog. Hang in there Mack, you can do it! We're cheering for you!

VR46 - 9: Hot damn, grandpa' is still here! Slowly and quietly but surely getting his hands on a top 3 in the standings... Or can he get more ?

MM93 - 10: Like one of my friends said, Marc - smarty ass - Marquez should have Energiser as a sponsor as he's clearly way past the RedBull point there, doing somersaults after one very hot 50 minutes race.

DP26 - 7: Dani is sorry he made us cry. He is sorry we were freaking out scared he could retire. Dani still has good hopes for next season. And so do we.

CC35 - 7: Cal did a pretty good race taking him home 4th place but it's his daughter Willow who stole the show. If you don't know what we're talking about, we suggest you to have a look at Lucy's instagram post from last week. #icantwithsomuchcuteness

AE41 - 3: Aleix is a new Dad. He is probably not having his regular quota of sleep so we'll pass on that poor weekend.

MM93 - 10: At this rate, by the end of the season Marc will have already so many points he could get the title from his sofa.

AD04 - 5: Risks favors the Braves. Patience favors the Smarts.

VR46 - 7: Tick Tock, it’s soon enough gonna a be a year since Vale last won a race. We’re looking at ya, Assen.

JZ5 - 7: They wanted a back flip, they’ve got an omelette.

JL99 - 6: When you’re stuck riding that crap-ati GP18 while you’ve got your 3 championship winning’s M1 waiting for you at home... #ohwhatawaste

CC35 - 10: That awkward moment when 90% of the press don’t show up on your glory day.

2017 SEASON REVIEW : RATING THE RIDERS

As 2017 is coming to an end, it seems like the appropriate time to have a look back at the whole season that saw Marc Marquez, once again, take the crown. Without further do, let’s start this season review with a special edition of Rating the Riders !

MM93 - 10: Mr Save saved his crown by saving what seems like a sure crash in the final race of the season. Hate him of love him, if you must, but in the end just feel blessed to see History in the making.

CC35 - 5: Seasons come and go but they’re never the same for Cal. As much as last year has been a good year for him, this one sure was close to a disaster.

AD04 - 9,5: Like Moses, Dovi’s been leading Ducati and the Ducatisti to the promise land. The last round failure does not even bring one hint of a shadow to his fabulous rising to the Alien’s Club this season.

DP26 - 8: Dani makes us cry. Weither it’s of joy or anger, one thing is sure, we would glady take Michelin’s Big Boss into hostage to make sure they (FINALLY) give him some great rubber.

JL99 - 7: Life is like a Ferris Wheel. Sometimes you’re on Top, sometimes you’re not but it always keeps on turning. Chin up Jorge, this year’s purgatory can only lead to Glory Days.

VR46 - 6,5: Lin Jarvis can call this season whatever he wants, a MotoGP season where Yamaha has only won 5 races is, to me, nothing less than an epic fail. Who’s to blame ? This we cannot answer but i’m sure the Yellow Army were expecting more than just an Assen GP Win.

JZ05 - 9: Johann came in like a rocket ship. He’s made of The Joker madness mixed up with Master Yoda’s wisdom.

AI29 - 6: Nose job or not, 2017 was definately not the year Andrea shined by his skills. Or, at least, his skills on track...

DP9 - 7: Like some bigger names on the grid, Danilo came pretty F-ING close to a GP win this season. The fastest Gorilla on track is slowly but surely writting himself a name in the racing books. 

MV25 - 6,5: You’ve all been feeding me Vinales like he was the 8th Wonder of the World from November 2016 to March. Well, i suppose you’ve missed the memo: there’s only 7 Wonder in this Earth and none of them is named Maverick... Like Valentino, the poor score is mainly due to the massive disappointment this season has brought which might not really be the riders’ fault...

SR45 - 5: Was Scott in competition with Andrea 29 for the big prize of “most talked rider outside the track because of rubbish shit going on” ? I dunno, but stealing the other guy on the grid’s girlfriend is never, EVER, the way to go..

KA17 - 3: Dad’s money can buy many things. With, maybe, the exception of a  better place than 20th in the final championship standings. 

AB19 - 7: I’ve heard wedding bells are ringing for Alvaro this December! It’s what i call closing a fairly great year with a BANG!

RATING THE RIDERS: ROUND 15 - JAPAN

AD04 - 10: Even in a dream season, it takes at least someone at 300% to beat Marc Marquez in the last lap of a race... BRAVISSIMO DOVI !!

MM93 - 9,5: We used to say that, in the end, Marquez always win. Scrap That!

DP9 - 9: Always the Bridesmaid, Never the Bride ... ?

VR46 - 5: At 7am, All of Europe was watching the race. At 7:10am, 90% of it went back to bed.

JL99 - 6: Not that we are counting (joking, we totally ARE), but only 3 more chances of not havin a blank year, Giorgio...

AR42 - 8: We knew it! We knew this one was a good one! Oh that Rinsy Boy! *fangirling*

AI29 - 7: Oh hey, Andrea Iannone!! Long time since we last saw you!

MV25 - 6: The KinG, The Man.. The One who does not win.

DP26 - 3: *writting one very angry letter to Michelin*

CC35 - 1: Bonus point for not crashing into someone else on Sunday !

RATING THE RIDERS: ROUND 14 - ARAGON

MM93 - 10: With rain, sun, wind, snow, without a leg or an arm, when doing mistakes all around the track (and i tend to believe even when going down)... in the end Marquez always wins. 

JL99 - 9: Not all love story are  L O V E  at first sight. Some are a long and slow burn but they tend to be the best ones... Right Giorgio ?! 

DP26 - 8: “Dani should race alone” says Vale. Hey, i wouldn’t mind watching that for 23 laps tbh... :D 

CC35 - 3: No parmigiano this weekend, just cracking eggs in the gravel trap.

JZ5 - 6: That’s what a “meh” weekend looks like for Zarco. And Yes, Baz would probably want his to look more like that.

VR46 - 8: Yup. You’ve just been DOCTORED watching that race. RIP calling sick at Work...

MV25 - 7: All right Maverick, here’s a thing: You cannot do well just on Saturdays if you want more than a BMW.
