If there were ever a picture to define the frustration of the Jazz community around the world, it would be this picture of @jbruneau #JoshBruneau . No, that is not a unique custom bent horn akin to a reverse subtle Dizzy. This was Josh not playing for a long time due to the pandemic, and when he picked up his horn again, he felt like he had lost a part of it. Frustrated, he slammed his horn on the ground. I can write a short film vignette just out of that description.

Tonight, he sounded better than ever, with one of the best rhythm sections on the planet backing him up playing with @kenfowser. The stoic bottom of @gbasscleff #GeraldCannon and @straightswingin68 #WillieJonesIII with #RickGermnason keeping it there while #KenFowser and Josh work it in.

Josh tonight was playing with a fire of revenge in him.

That horn is the symbol of every tired and frustrated creative on the planet. For the most part, creatives need to be out there, need to play, need to be heard, need to be seen, need to show, need to breathe the air in a room with hundreds.
