#FORTNITE SONG SKIN#
Although it could point to a skin or an in-game concert of some kind, similar to what Fortnite has done in the past with Ariana Grande and Travis Scott, iFireMonkey pointed out that there are no skins encrypted related to Eminem at the moment, which means it's likely something smaller. You don't need to be a formally trained musician to write and produce a song. Related: John Cena Is The Fortnite Skin The World Has Been Waiting ForĪs pointed out by reliable Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey, Eminem is currently the only artist playing on Fortnite's in-game Icon radio station, which seems to be hinting at some kind of collaboration between the two in the future. It's been some time since we've seen any major music event in Fortnite, but a recent change to the Icon radio station has some thinking that something big is on the way. Over the past few years, Fortnite has been embracing music in a way no other live game has, regularly adding music to the in-game radio that can be listened to while driving, as well as setting up live concerts for big artists.

Here's every Icon Series emote so far.Eminem has randomly taken over Fortnite's in-game Icon radio station, leading some to believe that some kind of collaboration is on its way. These days, you'll find licensed music, popular dances, and more in the ever-expanding Fortnite Icon Series emotes library. watching the rapper Drake play Fortnite on a Twitch stream, or arguing on social media as. It was only in 2021 when the TikTok dance emotes were all retroactively moved into the Icon Series, expanding the series enormously. or hearing that song from the summer you turned sixteen. Fortnite is the free, always evolving, multiplayer game where you and your friends battle to be the last one standing or collaborate to create your dream Fortnite world. The game started out as a co-op game in which the goal is to survive a wave of monsters. When a viral dance appears in Fortnite, it now tends to include attribution, citing its creator in the emote's details, which suggests a deal has been worked out with the original dancer or singer. Fortnite is an absolute sensation among online game players worldwide. Today, Epic may be more able to include these dances without the threat of legal action after setting a precedent with its past victory, but it seems the company has changed how it goes about its business anyway, just to keep things out of the courts. Icon Series emotes are among the most expensive, but also the most sought after in Fortnite. Most cases were eventually withdrawn when either the US Copyright Office denied copyrights or, in at least one case, Epic even won the lawsuit. This led to some legal trouble for Epic, which was sued by Alfonso Ribeiro and Backpack Kid respectively, among others, with dancers claiming ownership of the moves. There was a time when Epic skirted the line of including these dances the right way, like when popular dances such as The Carlton and The Floss were put in the game. With music ranging from Rick Astley's retro hit "Never Gonna Give You Up" to modern reggaeton hits like J Balvin's "In Da Ghetto," today the Fortnite Icon Series skins are joined by a growing list of dances made famous in music videos and TikTok. nerdout fortnite song remix by swansrule234 nerdout fortnite song by AwesomePenguin562 nerdout fortnite song remix by Alexanderbossy nerdout fortnite. Fortnite (2021)
A new Fortnite season is here, bringing map changes, UFOs you can fly (or, if you’re me, accidentally plunge to your death from), and a reworked battle pass full of original characters and crossovers. There are a couple high profile ones, including Rick from TV show Rick and Morty and an upcoming Superman skin.
According to the battle pass screen, Superman won’t be available until 65 days from the start of the season, or August 12. You can see all the details of him now, though: there’s a Clark Kent skin, a Daily Planet back bling, and a Superman spray and emote. Through completing quests in-game, you’ll be able to unlock a style that transforms Clark Kent into Superman.
The Rick and Morty skin is available now, though you’ll need to level up pretty far through the battle pass to get it. It features a 2D Rick, a harvesting tool of Morty shaped like a very upset hammer, a butter robot back bling, a load screen, and a UFO glider, along with a colorful gun wrap, a spray, a load screen, and a vaguely unsettling emote called the “Rick dance.”
Unlocking all this stuff works a little differently than in previous seasons, due to some changes to the battle pass. In recent Fortnite seasons, you would automatically get a level’s rewards as you levelled up through the pass. Now, leveling up grants you battle stars, which you might remember from past seasons when you needed a certain number of them to unlock the next pass tier. For season 7, you spend your stars to choose rewards on a certain page of the battle pass, with different items costing different numbers of stars. To unlock items on subsequent pages, you need to have either purchased a certain number of items on the previous page or reached a certain level of the battle pass. Rick can be unlocked by reaching level 90 or by spending on your stars on 90 other items.

Should fortnite avoid trying to do serious stuff considering how trolls and kids like to goof off during these events and turn them into something awkward?
Not really, no.
It's a tough thing to shake out, admittedly. There were tweets by Errant Signal with replies by guys like JP Lebreton that I tend to agree with, specifically about Fortnite's recent Martin Luther King "Step through time" event.
They likened it to holding a funeral at Chuck E. Cheese, or teaching someone about racism at a Mall-based laser tag arena. They suggest that it's too loud, and colorful, and more importantly, capitalistic. Fortnite is covered in marketing and brand deals all the time. The MLK event opens with you literally entering through an issue of Time Magazine, where you can run around meeting other players as Rick Sanchez, Superman, Deadpool, and The Predator. That's player expression, but it's also marketing. You're wearing corporate logos.
Which can, and sometimes does, cheapen the message. Especially when you remember that Doctor King was assassinated, and sometimes you would load in to the Fortnite map getting tool tips on how to improve your aim with guns. That's a bad look.
But also, like... nobody's going to go to a Martin Luther King Fortnite map if you lock it all down and make it this stodgy, somber, quiet, boring museum exhibit thing. Fortnite is that Mall laser tag arena, people come to the game to be loud and colorful and to dress up as Street Fighter's Ryu so they can make him dance gangnam style.
The idea is that by bringing information about Martin Luther King and the history of civil rights in America to these kinds of places, you expose people who would never normally go to a museum exhibit. You go where people are comfortable, and you let them be comfortable. And maybe, through sheer osmosis or some other method, they absorb a little bit of culture. Yes, they're fooling around with friends and strangers in an area dedicated to learning and racial tensions and a legitimate tragedy, but the human brain is more than just conscious understanding and some small piece of something is going to stick in their head, in theory.
Isn't that better than not trying at all? Embracing ignorance? I don't think this is necessarily a substitute for school or anything like that, but learning is also more than a sleepy classroom and memorizing test answers.
It may feel weird, there may be a hard tonal mismatch, but I don't see why they can't try. As long as what's being presented by Epic is respectful, then that's good enough. Users can and will interpret that however they choose. And it's their right to. It's the same thing that lead to all those dumb Mega 64 skits where they would dress up in costumes and run around public places, right? They weren't usually doing anything illegal when they made those. Some of the parks or buildings might've had history attached to them, but they are allowed to do whatever they want there, within reason.
Fortnite could be doing better, mind you. Again, the tool tips in how to shoot guns look really bad when you're loading in to a map about someone who was famously shot. Epic has taken some steps to curb that -- I believe tool tips have been disabled, and Epic locked down the emotes you can use in the map. But it's important to note that they still give you "funny" emotes, like an emote that is basically Snoop Dogg's "Drop It Like It's Hot" dance. Again, the idea is to let people be comfortable. Even if they're goofing around, they're at least there, and something worthwhile might rub off.
There's a quote I think about a lot, and it's "Though I am always ready to learn, I am not always willing to be taught."
I know it seems cringy and tonally dissonant but the potential gains make up for that, I hope.

Fortnite Win Diary #1: Double Peely
So, I started the match needing 500 damage dealt at Rickety Rig for a challenge. Nobody was there, so I decided to try a little pro tip I saw online: I went to The Fortilla and rode a shark all the way to Rickety Rig so I could deal the 500 damage to it. Funny how sometimes an attempt at a silly challenge results in a win!
Anyways, someone followed me back! Ironic that Rickety was too empty before, but too busy now! I barely managed to take them (and the shark) out, and I got eaten up by the storm while looting the both of them. Fortunately I made it out alive, and with a purple assault rifle!
I took a visit to Hydro 16, an old favorite locale of mine that just recently popped out of the sinking water level. I don’t normally upgrade weapons, but I had some spare materials so now I had an orange assault rifle!
I got to use it quickly, too. As soon as I took the zip line up to the dam, I was confronted by a player who built very high but very unsafely, allowing me to shoot out the base of his building twice while barely moving myself. He was looooooaded with crafting materials, so I was able to get my shotgun from blue to orange and my sniper rifle from blue to purple, but then I had to keep running from the storm.
This was where my dad (who was spectating, along with my mom) remarked that I had an excellent “economy of movement”. He explained that the shootout I just participated in reminded him a little of the way he sees professionals play (especially as opposed to when he plays shooters) insofar as I barely moved my character or crosshair despite the intense pressure, keeping my character’s movement and my aim tightly centered on where it needed to be. I’m not as good as the professionals, but it felt really cool to hear that!
This was top ten by this point, and the circle was centered smack dab on the lake of Lazy Lake, so there wasn’t much land to stand on. I even saw a helicopter in front of me just gliding through the water (my dad mistook it for a boat!). I found a nice little shack to hide in until it was top 3.
By this point, I had witnessed #4 meet his demise at the hands of a master builder, who then took off in a chopper. My bright idea was to quickly run and hide in the aftermath of that shoutout, where Mr Helicopter would never suspect me. Unfortunately, I could only remain there for a few more moments before the storm forced me inward.
Luckily, I heard shooting in front of me on the other side of a 2 story building. This meant I could climb up onto the roof and watch the two other remaining players duke it out, only stepping in to finish the victor off. I got my sniper out and saw the two of them shooting at each other on an open field. Two Peelys! Both of them just naked bananas, firing away.
I made a joke about “how can I tell which one is the real Peely?”, but before I knew it, one of them had launched off a trampoline and was headed straight for me! We exchanged blows on the rooftop of my perch, before he got away. I slunk down to the first floor, looking to get the drop on him. I could hear him charging his charge shotgun, but fortunately he missed and I finished him with my orange tactical shotgun.
Top 2! It would be exciting even if it ended here. I was all out of shields and didn’t even have full health, so I stopped to drink my chug jug (which takes 15 seconds!). I was tucked in the corner of the very same building, but already I could hear footsteps! I remarked to my parents, “I’m gonna need to switch to my shotgun quick...” just before the final Peely came down the stairs. I actually didn’t switch to my shotgun because he was all the way across the room, instead I threw my firefly jar (which I had picked up at the expense of an orange pistol earlier). I don’t know how much the fire from the jar hurt him, but it lit that end of the building on fire, forcing him closer and right into my shotgun’s reach! I think he may have also hastily charged a charge shotgun, only to miss and offer me the victory royale!
The best part is: as soon as I won, I pulled off the Never Gonna emote (which actually plays Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley) which looks pariticurly fun as Kit, the little kitten piloting a junk mech body. Also I had the Owl backpack equipped, just to finish painting the picture. It was a really fun moment and I wanted to capture it for posterity, as I’ve become a bit fixated with memory lately.
