He's told stories at venues around Austin including Testify, Stories on the Lawn, Drinking with the Saints, and a collaboration with Austin Cantorum. His family has lived in the Austin area for 16 years.

Richard has always loved to share memories. He went public for the first time at a Moth Story Slam in Houston and has been sharing stories ever since at events in Houston and Austin including Testify and Drinking with the Saints.

Richard Ver Steeg has been a bit of a storyteller for most of his life - sharing memories and anecdotes wherever friends and family gathered. More recently he’s expanded his audience and his stories at events in Austin as well as Moth StorySLAMs in Houston. When he’s not telling stories, he’s often thinking of new stories to share.
