The Autumn 19 issue was devoted to ribbons....and Robert Ely shared his love of designing and weaving silk ribbons. For more than twenty years he has been creating ribbons and trims on his narrow fabric weaving loom. The ribbons have appeared in many well known films and TV productions including Poldark and currently in Julian Fellowes’ Belgravia. Some (reverse order!) progress photos of the trim for my newest underskirt. I am Exceptionally Pleased with how the little box pleats came out with this spacing-- they remind me of little violets! Special nod to @historicalsewing - this was inspired by the ribbon trims class that is available through her website.
