GUYS !! I SEWED MY FIRST BUTTONHOLE JUST NOW!!!

I'm ridiculously proud of myself. I don't have a sewing machine, so i do all my sewing by hand. I actually went to my parents' house to try to do buttonholes on my mother's machine, but she's never done that before, and we couldn't figure it out, so she let me borrow some silk thread (the generally recommended thread for buttonholes cause it's quite strong) and i did pretty good on my first try.

Tomorrow, I'll go to the local shop and find black silk thread cause my current project is in black, and then i can work on that all day tomorrow, and maybe even finish it!

#my stuff #my sewing #I'm actually working on adding little ribbons to the cuffs of a shirt so the sleeves will be tied tight instead of having elastic #so i need to add holes that the ribbon can come through (i didn't feel like fiddling with the seams)#now i just need to add the channels i made to the inside!#i also bought some lace to give the plain ruffles on the shirt a bit of extra oomf #and cause the shirt is similar to an edwardian lingerie blouse I'm adding that lace to the edge of the sleeves #so when they're all tied shut and gathered the lace will be a little extra fancy bit #the breast of the blouse has lace that i was extremely lucky and found smth similar to at my local shop #im so happy w how this is going so far
