here's a little question for the lover finale countdown celebration! how did you pick the 3 songs for the trilogy? like out of all the songs in the album, why did you pick those 3?

i picked those three songs in order because they tell the process of night turning into day and day having its afterglow as it turns into night again.

the archer being the dark night because the lyrics of the song, or at least in my own interpretation, talked about the darkness that’s inside you and despite how hard you try to conceal it, people closest to you could still see through you. you try so hard to escape that darkness, but they are so strong that it has influenced you to do some things you may not have wanted to do. in the end, it leaves you questioning whether who could truly stay with you, despite the darkness that’s inside of you.

daylight is the second song i picked because it transitions the dark night into daylight. the lyrics, “I've been sleeping so long in a 20-year dark night. And now I see daylight, I only see daylight.” talk about how you start to see the light in your life when you meet that special someone.

afterglow is the last song i picked because of the meaning of the word itself. afterglow is what you call the glow that’s frequently seen in the sky after sunset. in the previous 2 parts, you have found the light that accepts your darkness, but the question of whether that light will stay still lingers. you can’t really have a true happy ending without the toughest challenge that will test you and get you to your tipping point so when the world has caused your doubts and insecurities to rise up and the darkness has conquered you, so you push that light away in fear of burning it out by the darkness you possess. by pushing that light away, you realize that you cannot live without it so you try to have it back.

after the sun has set and all is said and done, you look around and see that you got your light back, and this time, you know how to keep it. the afterglow is here, and you are glad it is beautiful for you.

for the bgah finale celebration q&a, are there easter eggs in the series we may have missed? i feel like there are a lot

i can confirm, there are a lot of easter eggs in the entire series 😆 here are some:

1. the significance of #2.

if you’ve read the series, you’ve probably noticed that the number 2 showed up a lot. this is a nod to the fact that reader has to pick between 2 lovers. this is also a foreshadow to how long the series would be.

2 lovers = 2 parts for backstories, 2 bonus parts, 2 parts for the finale.

2. max and daniel color themes.

parts focusing on max are black and white.

parts focusing on daniel are with colors.

this is how the reader sees her past relationship with max and her relationship with daniel. basically, it means that her relationship with max was dark, while her relationship with daniel is bright. max also has the black and white theme bc her relationship with him is hidden, meaning what she had with max has not stepped outside that’s why there is no light.

3. alternating parts.

when i published every part, i made sure that parts for max and daniel alternated. the release would be: max, daniel, max, daniel, max, daniel.

this wasn’t a coincidence. i did it on purpose because the alternating of parts represented the back and forth thoughts inside y/n’s mind. every time y/n thought she had escaped max, she found herself thinking about him again.

4. songs i picked for inspiration.

all parts focusing on max which are:

the other side of the door, we were happy, the way i loved you are songs from taylor’s FEARLESS album. (taylor’s version, ofc)

all parts focusing on daniel which are:

gold rush, cowboy like me, champagne problems are songs from taylor’s EVERMORE album.

5. the part 2, which is gold rush, foreshadowed the ending.

for the sake of everyone who has not read the ending yet, i won’t include here which was the exact part the foreshadowing happened… but one of the key parts was the scene in daniel’s childhood bedroom when he told y/n an advice his father told him. the advice literally said what would happen in the final 2 parts. can you pinpoint the other scenes where i foreshadowed the ending? 🤭

out of all the parts, why gold rush? because it was the 2nd part. this is yet again a nod to the significance of #2.
