it doesn’t ever take her TOO long to get ready . but she does spend a little EXTRA time this evening on her hair & makeup , making sure she looks done up but not to the point where she isn’t HERSELF. rey prefers a natural look but for tonight , she wears chestnut tresses in gentle WAVES , a light dusting of shimmering SHADOW over her lids, and a pretty mauve-ish GLOSS . her dress is a plain thing, SOLID colored army green, & hugging her body a decent amount . plus , rey has traded her tattered converse for NUDE HEELS  & this is all for a BLIND date that she cares a little less about than meeting her sister’s BOYFRIEND . if she’s honest , rey is more nervous for that than anything . especially considering how HIGHLY kira speaks of ben . rey is only looking out for her sister .      ❛ should we wait out here or go in to grab a table ?  ❜

{✿} – Rey was just one of those friends with which he could share a comfortable silence, so he didn’t give it much thought when he lost himself in a daydream. Whilst he gazed idly out of the open window, the early Summer breeze gently swayed the hanging basket of vibrant petunias; something so ordinary, yet he seemed fascinated with the effortless swing of the basket paired with the cherished natural beauty of the flowers. It was a welcomed relaxant. Malakai hadn’t realised that whilst he was watching, that his company was watching him, too. Eventually, the quietude was broken, but whilst Rey’s words were spoken with temperance, they certainly struck him as odd. He had to think, for a moment, what she actually meant. It hadn’t formerly occurred to him that, after all this time, she had absolutely no idea that girls were not his department of interest. Turning towards her with an apologetic sigh, Malakai could only offer her a similarly sorry smile, and the truth. ❝Rey…that’s not…I’m not exactly of the right inclination for you to be asking that question. I’m…sorry, I thought you knew.❞

It takes more self-restraint to not scurry back into his office when he sees the approaching figure of Rey then he’s willing to admit. Arms laden with papers to grade, preparing for the long week of holiday granted for the Spring, he adopts what he hopes is a neutral expression. “Office hours have since ended, I’m afraid any inquiries you have should be directed via e-mail.” 

And not sitting across my desk, biting your lips and looking up at me with those eyes. Tempting me in thrift store jeans and coffee on your breath.

He was merely a man, and despite his usual droll attitude towards the students he taught, there was something about this one that made him just a little....stupid.
