► BIOGRAPHY
Henley was born in Los Angeles, CA to Emilia and Alexander Jacobs. The beautiful sight of the baby girl was expected, what took everyone off guard was that Henley was collateral beauty to her mother's passing whilst in childbirth. The trauma enough that it sent the business tycoon running with his new bundle of joy to Denver. The girl knew the basics of her parents' story; Emilia moved to LA with a dream and $20 dollars in her back pocket. She had a face that belonged in the movies, and she was sure she was going to make it happen. Alexander came from a long line of old wealth - the industrialists that paved the way for the new business magnates of today. He saw her sing at an open mic night and he was a sucker. She saw him from the stage and sung to him - the rest was history. It was why he took the loss so hard, turning to alcohol so quickly like his father before him. Meanwhile, little Henley was trying everything to have any sort of connection. When she couldn't, she found herself boarding herself up. To a degree, she blamed herself. It only made sense that he wanted nothing to do with her when she killed mom. Though her father's choice of escape was alcohol, the brunette would easily slip away into fantasy worlds thanks to books when things got hard. She promised herself that no matter how dark life got, she was to be her own beacon of light; if she couldn't do that for herself, then she would be that for others. She was the quiet girl in school that everyone wanted to know, and she hated it. The reasoning being that she knew she had more to offer than her looks, but that was all anyone really saw in her. Even her own father told her to utilize her looks to get ahead. Instead of anger, it only fueled her to prove everyone wrong. She was in honor society, the president of the physics club in high school, took AP courses in art history and government policy. There was only one person who truly saw her, and that was her first love in high school. Though she had friends, none of them were every as close nor as understanding as Astrid. It was pure - they just wanted to know one another and be around one another. Her father actually liked Astrid, so did all her friends - though no one but their closest circle knew what they genuinely were behind closed doors. What was most important was that she let her walls down around Astrid; she truly felt free enough to be herself shamelessly. When the first semester of college hit, Astrid claimed she wasn't ready to come out and that was the end of what Henley felt was her once in 20 lifetimes. Maybe the fact her father liked Astrid was a red flag. Maybe she did something wrong - didn't love her the way she needed. Either way, her walls came back up and they were stronger than ever. It was that break-up that became the foundation of her inspiration for her first couple EPs. When the second EP came out, Henley didn't expect the attention it got. Now as she works on her first studio album, Henley is cementing her walls in place and attempting to navigate this chaos of the entertainment industry; where no one cares who you are, but cares who you know and the number of followers you attain.
► PERSONALITY
Henley is bright and sunny, but facades as a black cat. She is hellbent on keeping people at an arm's distance, seeing that she opened herself up fully only to get hurt. Her new motto is to leave before getting left. It's funny though, because she does have a big heart and she's prone to loving hard once a crush is formulated. She's a supportive and loyal friend once you have her in your court. Henley is prone to boredom and goes through these bursts of needing to go out, or needing to stay in - there's no in between. Henley knows she's sought after, so she likes to make people jump through hoops only to then walk away and throw their number away. She's into literature, art history and poetry. She actually writes poetry, herself, and her favorite thing to do is get lost in an art museum. Most don't know this about her, but Henley likes to game. She utilizes gaming to alleviate anxiety. She is just a huge ball of sunshine squished into a protective prison she built for herself, okay?
► PLOTS
The Best Friend: This person was most likely there when the Astrid situation went down and is Henley's shoulder to cry on as well as her go-to friend when she needs to get out of the house. They've been friends since middle school, possibly before! There's so many ways to play them - the best friend could be tired of Henley's self-recklessness or they could be the enabler. - OPEN
Childhood Friends: Same as above, these people were there during the Astrid scenario. They could meet at any point in their growing up - but these people would be close to Henley and they're almost joined at the hip. - OPEN (x3)
The PR Friend: Someone in the music industry who is utilizing Henley for clout. Henley wouldn't be aware of this, or maybe she is and is just stringing this person along - but I think it would be interesting to have a fake friend who Henley thinks is genuine. - OPEN
Ride or Die: Was a hook-up in the process but they wound up getting high and just talking all night. This is someone that Henley could sit in absolute silence with and be content, or when she's flying off the handlebars, this person can bring her back. Smoke sessions, deep conversations in the AMs. - OPEN
But, Do I Suck?: The music testers. This person is someone Henley runs her music by before putting it out into the world. They could be her genuine friends in the music industry, or maybe they went to NYU together and they met that way. - OPEN (x2)
Once You Have Me, Will You Want Me Still?: Blind date that turned into a hookup and Henley left before they woke up because she got scared. Ya know, she just doesn't want history to repeat itself. - OPEN

Hi all, I’m back with a new fic for the RTC Summer Vibes fest 2019
based on the prompt ‘sure stranger, I’ll help you find your bikini top/swim trunks’
Ode To Sydney
Ben and Poe travel Down Under. Slang is used, driving on the left is the right way to do it, trams are under construction, thongs aren't underwear and if you checked the lost and found box at Manly Surf Life Saving Club, you'd find a suspicious pair of red boardshorts that helped two strangers find love.

Thanks @bey-grade and @kehkr for tagging me! Love this challenge :)
Rules: post the names of all the files in your WIP folder regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them, and then post a little snippet of it or tell them something about it!
My WIPs (with their file names)
So I have 4 main folders, here's what in each:
Idea Junkyard
(as the name says, whenever I have an idea, I jot it down here so I don't forget it)
Beygirls vibes: I need more solid ideas to continue it, but I wanted to write something centred around the beygirls haha The first scene (and only scene I wrote) has Mao training to beat Rei's ass, with the help of her gym buddy Rick.
Street Fighting Garland x Bryan: A draft of an AU where Garland gets into street fights for money and gets very close to a certain Russian that I made for @stroblitz
Mayblade (yea, couldn't participate because life was chaotic, but the intentions were there)
Spellbound It started as some planning for an Original work but I let it aside, but might reuse some stuff for my Fantasy AU.
Beyblade Fantasy AU - TyKa - Dragons and Love Potions: my dear baby child that I really hope that will come to life one day
Elite School AU - Julia x Mathilda: Not much yet, I just had this scenario in mind and put it there
Season 4 Euro Tournament - Julia x Mathilda / Gianni x Olivier: it's basically a similar setting to Monsters in Paris, where the first tournament after G-Rev is in Europe funded by the Majestiks and Julia has now to save the day.
Vampire AU TyKa but Takao is the vampire: lol there's literally nothing inside this document but the idea is there!
Oneshots
(if you're lucky to graduate from the Junkyard, you might come here!)
Inside this folder there are a lot of completed works, but some in progress:
Fantasy ReiMax - this should maybe be in the Junkyard since it's 1 paragraph long, but we will see :) It is about this scenario where Rei is an elf and finds this paladin (Max) dying and goes on to nurture him back to health.
Surf AU - This will happen as soon as I have time. Takao is a surf instructor and Kai is a very grumpy student. Based on Aoki's art for Kai's birthday
Resilience
My abandoned season 4 fic centred around Daichi and some friends' OCs. I don't know if I will ever continue it, but I commissioned art for it so you can just hype the characters (from left to right, top to bottom: Jin Alphonse, Ryouko Miyahara, Masumi, Set Samael, our boi Daichi)
Tumblr media
Those Quiet Hours
Y'all know this one :) Everything is organised in 4 folders: Archive (Deleted scenes, chapters that were later rewritten), Final ver (all final edits), Other Tales (for stories in the same universe), Scenes (for when I need to write the scene but don't know in which chapter it goes)
I think most of the BeyFam has done it by now, but consider yourself tagged if you see this!

If you're still taking asks for the unusual headcanon meme, how about 17, 26, 45, and 1 for Sadie and/or Charlie? (Your choice!)
Oh, these are some fun ones! Thank you so much for these 💕
Tumblr media
1) what’s your muse’s favorite album of all time / favorite artist?
Alright, let me start out by saying I haven’t put much thought into what either of the girls’ taste in music would be like. BUT, Sadie is really into pop music and I imagine her favorite artists would be Carly Rae Jepsen and Lana del Rey with e • mo • tion being her favorite album.
17) do they have pets? what kind? dogs, cats, etc?
She didn’t have any prior to the reaping, but she becomes an adoptive mother to Boomer, Peaches, and Cheeseburger!
26) what are they most passionate about? what could they debate about for hours?
This has absolutely nothing to do with anything going on in Hope County, for the most part. But, Sadie is definitely passionate about stopping people from polluting bodies of water. She was a surf instructor in San Diego before coming home and saw so many people littering the beaches even though garbage cans were right there. It really pissed her off and she would sometimes fight with randos about how they’re killing their great-grandchildren before they’re even born sjsksk.
45) what’s their dream job / profession? do they have one?
Being a cop is not her dream job! If her stupid family hadn’t joined a cult she wouldn’t have had to go to the police academy or move back home. She would have loved to have been a professional athlete. Either a gymnast or a surfer, but life had other plans for her.
Tumblr media
1) what’s your muse’s favorite album of all time / favorite artist?
When I wrote Charlie driving from Fall’s End to the compound for the first time, I was listening to the soundtrack to Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and kinda imagined her also vibing to The Cramps, so I that’s what I think of when I think of an album she would absolutely love. And why not? She already has interesting taste in movies and men. Why not add music to the mix? I also like to think she’s a Talking Heads stan too. No particular reason, I just do.
17) do they have pets? what kind? dogs, cats, etc?
Eventually she breaks John down into letting her get a dog. He’s a Rottweiler and his name is Atticus (yes this is canon and will make its way into my fic). After seeing the dog house at Seed Ranch I just knew I had to find a way to incorporate a pup into the mix. And no, Charlie would never make him stay outside.
26 answered here
45) what’s their dream job / profession? do they have one?
Charlie wanted to become a conservationist. As a kid it was a vet, but she’s too sensitive for that. So, she chose something that would also help save lives, but wouldn’t force her to put down animals. Unfortunately, she never gets the chance since, after years of saving up to finally go to college, she has to drop out after two years to come back to Hope County.

TURISMO DEPORTIVO

Tumblr media
6. Asistencia a eventos deportivos
Tumblr media

— avan jogia. twenty-five. cismale. pronouns.  ↷ well if it isn’t cade rahul mehta, augustine’s very own icarian who’s been living here for twenty-five years in the emerson townhouses. he is currently working as a surfing instructor and has been known to be sardonic and insouciant. → sea salt curls burnished locks, and they giggle at the swathes of brilliant ink that dare to caress a toned bicep ; halcyon grin and soaked-through shorts that dip just a bit too low. gentle hands, calloused but strong — guide them onto the waves, draw them into the world that swallowed you whole when you were barely a child. tanned back, tanned arms, tanned everything ; green smoothies in the morning, water through the afternoon, chai tea in the evening when you finally stop to let yourself think about the life they left behind in order for you to live the way you do now. you haven’t visited their graves recently. ( the note on your phone, urgent, reminds you of it ; you try not to notice. )
you are born to two gujurati indians ; a doctor and a schoolteacher, they were determined that their infant son should have the best life possible. they bundle their belongings up and move to augustine the minute that your mother realises that there is life prospering inside of her.
your birth is simply a foreshadowing of your entire life ; your cries are soft, and they last only briefly before you start giggling and waving chubby little newborn hands around. that sunny disposition is something that you carry with you for the entirety of your life ---  you are never not known to have a warm smile on carved features and nothing but kind words for everybody.
you take an early liking to the beach, and for your sixth birthday you receive a tiny little bodyboard. the minute you are out in the water, you decide that you’re never going back. your love for surfing progresses through your adolescence, and the day that you get your first professional surfboard is one that you’re not likely to forget anytime soon.
at eighteen, tragedy strikes. your parents are killed in a collision, and your world shatters the moment you find out --- they leave you everything, and it only makes it worse. your townhouse feels so lonely without their presences, and you can’t stand the pervasive emptiness that perpetually lingers.
you barely stay inside the house now. the tan that you wear like a medal is the result of days spent teaching children just like you how to fall deeply in love with the ocean. wide smile constantly in place, you’ve come to terms with your loneliness and every so often, you visit your parents and place fresh flowers on their final resting places.

originally born in ho chi minh city, vietnam, you are adopted by a lesbian couple who swiftly move you to the united states. you spend most of your childhood growing up in salem, massachussetts, but your mothers take you on regular holidays to vietnam so that you can learn about your culture and your origins.
all throughout your childhood, you are a brilliant child with obvious ambitions. you’re reading novels by the time you’re 3,  speaking coherently and with ease when you were even younger. bright eyes and brilliant smile are matched equally, if not more so, with superb brains and sharp sense --- your mothers are so proud of you.
adolescence is a progression into a whole new world: you discover first kisses under the shade of old trees, clove cigarettes that leave sweet kisses upon glossy brims, sips of alcohol that has your face scrunching and body shaking. your focus on your education wavers, but you pull a strong 4.0 the entirety of your high school career. teachers adore your individual takes on essays and the skill you have with language. you dip in and out of debate teams, art groups, even do a short stint in a bad band --- it seems like whatever you try your hand at, you manage with ease.
at nineteen, you start making the conscious decision to move and a small beachside town catches your interest --- it’s far from home, and
since leaving home, your ‘wild side’ has emerged --- there are six new piercings in your ear, a few on your body, and you’re contemplating a tattoo. you’ve yet to even think about applying to colleges, and really, you’re not all that sure you’re even willing to apply. you just want to have fun, and frankly, that’s what you’re doing.
Tumblr media
— charlie heaton. twenty-three. cismale. pronouns.  ↷ well if it isn’t rhys daniel macdougall, augustine’s very own quandary who’s been living here for two years in the melvin heights trailer park. he is currently studying as a fine arts student and has been known to be deleterious and lackadaisical. → sandy beaches are so far away from home, so far away from glacial, bitter english streets ; pinched scowl and muted, choked-out syllables, ink-stained stems and evanescent smiles that condense just like the smoke that unfurls off of your cheap cigarettes. flannels with holes in the sleeves, jeans that you’ve torn to pieces through overuse and overlove, a collection of bottles you find on the shore and sketch when insomnia chases you into what passes for a living room. vinyl records ( your father’s collection ), burning ardor for organised chaos and cheap wine ( all your mother’s ), six feet deep in vintage sadness and antique wanderlust ( a product all of your own, my dearest. )
you’re born british through and through --- weaned onto weak tea that grows progressively stronger, your art gallery curator father and socialite mother only want the best for you. from the moment you can walk, you’re enrolled in only the best --- private kindergartens, private primary schools ; an array of tutors leave you painfully bored and painfully clever.
you have everything you could ever want or need, and you only get progressively more bored with your life. gala functions are no source of entertainment anymore, not until you start sneaking glasses of champagne and smoking in the bathrooms with a window cracked open. as you grow older, you realise that your parents love the idea of children rather than having children --- they lie and say they care and want the best, but you’ve been left to the care of nannies for as long as you dare to remember.
embittered by what seems like a lack of emotional love and too much of the material kind, you set out to destroy the own public image that they have cultivated for you --- drug scandals, boozy nights, you are eighteen and you taste nothing but revenge on plush brims. your plan works, because by the time you turn twenty-one, your name is nothing but ash and they exile you to america. you’ve never been happier than when you step on the plane that leads away from what you’ve come to view as your own personal hell.
you get to reinvent yourself in augustine, and that’s exactly what you do. you make a conscious decision to lock yourself away in your cheap little trailer, cover it with art and the relics of a past life. you enroll yourself in university when you first move, and you develop a strong affinity for the fine arts. you find yourself stained with paint most every day, and you’ve yet to tire of it.

fic rec some of your fav b!h??
okay okay anon you asked the right person !! actually i read fics on russian but a lot of them are translated from english sooo here’s a list of my favourite b!h stories:
honey, you've got me jumping off the wall
louis' rich and (thinks) he's famous. harry's broke and wants to be famous. zayn's a gucci model who only plays xbox and somehow ends up working everything out.
when i saw your face i fell in love
"Can I get a kids menu?""If you call me daddy."
or a stupid au where louis is a waiter and harry isnt and liam doesn't think you can fall in love in half an hour but louis insists he has
nonstop earthquake dreams of you
And there's heat behind it, blazing, plasmatic, like stars crashing together, like an explosion in space, like a supernova, like a black hole--everything else sucked out of existence. There's no bed and there's no pillow and they're not lying down, just floating somewhere, somehow, and there's no room and there's no X Factor house and there's no Niall snuffling or Liam's deep, even breathing and there's no wind or traffic outside and there's no hum of the heating unit and it's all just Louis. All encompassingly Louis.
or, harry falls hard and finds louis already at the bottom
Two Halves of a Blue Sky
Harry had tried to get used to the attention fame had brought him - had learned to at least pretend to deal with the rumours and speculation about every aspect of his life, had learned to pretend to be all right with the paparazzi shadowing his every move, had learned to pretend to cope with too-many-fans mobbing him whenever he went anywhere - but after being outed all too publicly, it all became too much. A break from it all on island in the middle of the Pacific, far away from everything and anything seemed to be just the sort of thing Harry needed.
A distraction was even better, especially when it came in the form of a gorgeous surfing instructor with a smile that could outshine the sun - even if a summer romance hadn't been on the original agenda. A heart-shaped island in the middle of the ocean was probably sort of place to fall in love. But Louis had his own reasons for being in Tavarua, and those might just mean that neither of them get the happy ending they're looking for.
Notting Hill-esque AU set in Fiji.
a million roses (bathed in rock n' roll)
au. harry sings in smoky dive bars; louis misses his flight home. they go to coney island in the morning.
(aka - harry is lana del rey, and louis makes him a star.)
I Like the Way You Bend for Me, Baby (b!l in the sequel)
Uni AU, in which Harry is a part-time yoga instructor with rock hard nipples and skin-tight leggings, and Louis most definitely isn’t charmed.
Loving You Is Free
Louis is a workaholic record label CEO who hasn't been on a date in nearly a year. Niall and Liam make an account for him on a sugar dating website as a joke. And then Louis meets Harry.
baby you've got me tied down
Harry sort of has a thing for being tied up during sex.
You Don't Need Me To Show The Way
But right there, on Harry's iPod, is a folder entitled Lou Sappy Sappy Long Indie Hipster 80's Love Songs Mixtape.
Louis expects a sappy mix tape. He might even expect his own shitty versions of Foo Fighter songs. What he doesn't expect is clicking on "AUD-20101223" and suddenly hearing loud moaning. He gasps and scrambles to pause it, so shocked the iPod drops right to Harry's stomach. Harry looks absolutely mortified, even more than he did when Louis played High School Musical. He's blushing so furiously his face bypassed rosy straight to flaming red, and his mouth is closing and opening like he can't think of a single thing to say.
Then Louis starts laughing uproariously. "Hiiii, I'm Harry from Cheshire, when I'm on the road I like listening to indie music and gay porn."
Or, 2011 fic where Harry rides dick for the first time and Louis appreciates technology.
Are You Gonna Be My Girl?
"You…" Harry touches his own mouth, teasing. "You ate her pussy?"
"Yeah." Louis stops playing with Harry's cock and gropes his arse again, pulling his cheeks apart and pushing them back together over the thong. "Want me to eat yours?"
Louis reenacts his first time, and Harry wants to be his good girl.
Keep on Dreaming, This is Hollywood
Louis Tomlinson, a pop star manager, makes his way to LA with a pop star (and his new music demands) and a very busy schedule.
Harry Styles came to Los Angeles with a dream and ended up sharing a flat and an occupation with a male prostitute from Ireland.
What happens when Louis meets Harry, and makes him an offer he can't refuse?
AKA A Pretty Woman AU where Louis is the high-powered businessman and Harry is the hooker. No, there is no necklace scene, but there is definitely piano sex.
it's been awhile (since i've felt butterflies)
In which Louis works in an ice cream parlor and Harry is Gemma's cute little brother who starts working there, as well.
Bring Your Body Baby (I Could Bring You Fame)
Eighteen year old Harry Styles just graduated high school and landed a summer job as a waterboy for his favorite football team. His job description is simple: be ready to hand water and towels to players if needed. That didn’t seem to include Louis Tomlinson though, a twenty-three year old, recently transferred Paris Saint-German player, who seems to like making Harry’s job much more difficult than it has to be.
OR
A self-indulgent AU that takes place over the summer of 2015. 18 year old Harry hates pining after people he can't have, and 23 year old footballer Louis loves flirting with people even though it never means anything.
amaryllis
"Where are we?""Um. A little while out of London?" Niall tries, seemingly the only one willing to not be mysterious and provide Harry with information, and. Oh. "London London? As in, the capital of England London?" he asks, just in case he'd misheard. "No, the other London," Louis laughs, low and biting. He comes closer finally, the moonlight just enough to reveal a sharp-cut jaw and pale skin. "Sorry, Pup."Nobody's ever called Harry a "pup". Frankly, he finds it quite insulting, but he lets it slide to try and comprehend his current crisis.
or the one where harry gets bitten by a werewolf. louis is the mysterious not-quite alpha, liam and zayn have Things going on, niall is their token human, and together, they watch a lot of TV.

If you’ve never been to Oceanside on a visit to San Diego, make it a must-see this year. This coastal city, affectionately dubbed O’side by residents, is one of only 14 designated California Cultural Districts in the state. Easy to get to, it’s the last stop on a Coaster ride from downtown San Diego to North County.
Once thought of primarily as a military town with Camp Pendleton on its northern edge, it’s come into its own with a burgeoning culinary and art scene that includes new restaurants, wineries, and breweries, plus emerging cultural, artistic, and tourist attractions. The many things to do in Oceanside won’t disappoint.
Hit the Oceanside Beach
It’s SoCal, after all, so the beach usually tops everyone’s must-do list. Oceanside has plenty of choices with nine public beaches. Perhaps the most popular Oceanside beach is Pier View South on the south side of Oceanside Pier. It’s adjacent to Pier View North. It’s also a short walk down The Strand to Tyson Street Beach and Wisconsin Street Beach.
Harbor Beach, adjacent to Oceanside Harbor, is the largest beach in Oceanside and is equally popular. Both beaches are lifeguard protected and have numerous amenities. Paid parking lots fill up fast. The blocks surrounding the pier have paid parking, but a street parking is free a couple of short blocks away (if you can find space).
Walk, Drive, or Pedal The Strand
The Strand is a 1.5-mile-long street that runs parallel to the Oceanside shoreline from Breakwater Way on the northern end to Wisconsin Avenue on the southern end.
All summer, you’ll see cars crawling along The Strand as people check out the waves and the crowded beach scene. Cars share the one-way, single-lane street with pedestrians, dog walkers, bicyclists, and surreys.
Dine on the Oceanside Pier
Historic Oceanside Pier is the largest wooden pier on the West Coast. It’s a two-minute walk from downtown and a four-minute walk from the Coaster station.
This neighborhood icon provides visitors with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and is a favored spot to watch whale migrations and frolicking dolphins. Ruby’s Diner, a Swing Era inspired eatery, sits at the end of the pier serving classic American fare including hamburgers with fries, sandwiches, soups, salads, milkshakes, and fabulous views.
Fishing is allowed on the pier, and there is a bait shop at the pier’s halfway point. You can get great photos of the coastline from the end of the pier.
Make It a Family Day at Tyson Street Beach and Park
Tyson Street Park includes Tyson Beach. You’ll know you’ve arrived when you see Lifeguard Tower 5 on the beach. You can access the park via The Strand, which runs between the grassy park and the sandy beach. Another access point is at the top of the hill at Pacific Street.
There is a colorful multi-level stairway leading from the metered parking above to the park. You’ll find picnic tables with benches, a public telephone, restroom and shower facilities, an expansive grassy area for lounging, a children’s playground, and of course beach access across The Strand. The beach between the flags is marked for swimming only, no surfing.
Channel Your Inner Hodad at The California Surf Museum
Whether you’re a seasoned surfer or a dedicated hodad, you know that enthusiasm for surf history and surfing, in general, is peaking. The California Surf Museum is an international repository for surf history, presenting all aspects of the surf lifestyle and culture to the public.
Be awed by surfboards, surfing equipment, bios of surf greats, surf art, memorabilia, photos, videos, magazines, and all things surf related on your visit to one of the best things to do in Oceanside.
Experience Regional Art at Oceanside Museum of Art
Oceanside Museum of Art is located blocks from the beach on Pier View Way with views of the ocean and Oceanside Pier.
This fine arts museum presents regional and international exhibitions of contemporary art designed to surprise and engage visitors. You can expect landscape paintings, art quilts, architectural glass, studio furniture, neon sculptures, and other examples of fine art that represent community culture.
Kids will appreciate the interactive nature of the museum.
Take a Self-Guided Mural Tour
You can learn a lot about a community through their public art, particularly their street art. Oceanside, which is a state-recognized cultural district, has several vibrant murals throughout the city that pop off walls to grab your attention.
See all two dozen of them on a self-guided tour that follows a carefully designed map from your smartphone. Drive or bike the route and soak in the Oceanside vibe.
Explore Oceanside Harbor Village
One of Oceanside’s favorite waterfronts is picturesque Oceanside Harbor Village. You’ll find a collection of nautical-inspired souvenir, gift, and apparel boutique shops, and casual to upscale waterfront dining.
Popular things to do in Oceanside here include renting paddleboards and kayaks for a cruise around the harbor, joining a sport fishing excursion, or simply fishing from the harbor pier.
A wide sidewalk with occasional benches encircles the harbor for seal-watching or a relaxing sunset stroll. Paid parking lots are conveniently located all around the harbor, and a free lot is on the east end through a tunnel.
Taste the Wines of Orfila Vineyards & Winery
SoCal wineries have established themselves as a competitive California wine force, and Orfila Vineyards & Winery in Escondido is among them. The vineyard has been a San Pasqual Valley wine producer for 25 years, but they just opened their new tasting room in Oceanside in 2019.
Known for French and Italian varietals, guests can choose from the winery’s standard six tastings, or the expanded eight tastings, plus glass. A menu of small plates is available. They also host music, art, comedy, trivia, and other events, so check their schedule to see what’s on tap during your visit.
Hit the Links at Oceanside Municipal Golf Course
If you’re ready for some golfing in Oceanside, the Oceanside Municipal Golf Course in the San Luis Rey Valley is the place. This 18-hole public course overlooks the valley’s scenic hillsides and native habitat.
The course has a grass practice range, two well-manicured putting greens, a grill for light bites, and a bar for post-round relaxation. The course hosts annual qualifying matches for the PGA Farmers Insurance Open held at Torrey Pines.

30 Things to Do in Oceanside, California
Take a Selfie on Waverider Helicopter Tours
Here’s a new attraction to Oceanside that’s a perfect fit for ‘adventure selfie culture.’ Impress your friends with an Instagram photo of your feet dangling from a helicopter high above the Oceanside Pier and the Pacific Ocean. You can do that and more aboard Waverider Helicopter Tours.

Workouts are designed to keep the mind moving and the bodies guessing—expect to feel present and invigorated if you pay them a visit.
YOGA4EWA
Located on Ewa Beach, Hawaii, this gorgeous studio appeals to those looking for variety within their yoga practice. YOGA4EWA offers a plethora of choices; pick and choose from Hatha, traditional Ashtanga, Vinyasa fusion, or the beloved sunrise Vinyasa at 7:30. Need some Vitamin D? You’re in luck, as many of their classes are hosted outside in the cabana. If you’re really looking from some outdoor adventure, you might want to consider one of their epic surf retreats—the next one goes to Bali!
Girl Get Outside
Meet Girls Get Outside, the lifestyle brand dedicated to women who love to be—well, you guessed it, in the great outdoors. They’re all about inspiring women and girls to be their best, bravest, and most adventurous selves through their blog, events, and ambassador program. It’s a great way to meet other likeminded ladies and develop lifelong or long-distance friendships that encourage you to unplug and indulge your wanderlust.
Yoga Loft Hawaii
Relieve stress, get fit, and feel good: that’s the motto behind Yoga Loft Hawaii and we couldn’t agree more. These beautiful studio appeals to a wide demographic, offering Ashtanga, restorative flows, various vinyasa flows, barre, and chakra-focused flows. Our favorite might be the Reiki and Yin Yoga class—the combination of energy healing and Yin yoga is the perfect combination for settling likely the most peaceful night of your life.
Yoga Kai
Welcome to Hawaii’s premier SUP floating yoga studio. Yup, that’s right, Yoga Kai is less about location, more the incredible experience of doing yoga on a paddleboard. But there classes go beyond traditional SUP—you can expect SUP Glowga, a nighttime experience on a paddleboard that is literally glowing as you float through the water. They also offer private classes if you’re thirsty for a one-on-one, or teacher training if you’re looking to spread the SUP Glowga love. Either way, they’re an adventure junkie’s dream come true.
Yoga in HI Places
We love Silent Discos. We love beach yoga. And since Yoga in Hi Places thought to combine the two, we love them a lot. If you find yourself in Kapiolani Park, you’ll definitely want to consider one of their signature evening yoga classes. Groove and flow to the beat as the music permeates your mind and body, creating a unique yoga experience that might just transform the way you approach your practice. (P.S.: You can hire them for events, too, so consider this if you’re looking for a unique birthday party or company bonding experience. )
Hawaii Yoga Institute
Hawaii Yoga Institute is for adventure wellness enthusiasts looking to take their yoga practice to the next level. If you want to become certified to teach yoga in Hawaii, and you’re crazy about learning alternative styles, Hawaii Yoga Institute might be your match made in heaven. The curriculum is incredibly diverse, providing students with a multitude of styles including Hatha, Vinyasa, SUP, partner yoga, restorative, pre-natal, kids, yoga dance, Ayurveda, yoga therapy, and flow arts. Located in Honolulu, they try to make it super easy for students to find affordable housing. You’ll have so much fun you’ll think you’re on vacation.
Yumi Hi
It’s rare for us to put a person on our list, but we have to talk about Yumi Hi. Working with Yumi (either privately or in one of her classes) is a must-do for anyone serious about their SUP yoga. Yumi came to SUP after combining her love of surfing with her love of yoga, designing her own sequences based off what felt good when working on her board. When she’s not teaching, Yumi is also a water fitness instructor, personal trainer, and acrobatic and aerial dance teacher. Getting to one of her classes ensures a well-rounded yogic experience. (Psst… you can catch her Wanderlust O’ahu!)
Hikina Yoga
Hikina Yoga is the quintessential Hawaiian yoga studio. The adorable studio offers a delicious amalgamation of classes, including the iconic Rocket Yoga, invented by Larry Schultz, AKA the Grateful Dead’s personal yoga teacher. The style is a series of postures that utilizes that meditative flow-style of Ashtanga at a faster pace. Hikina shares Larry’s philosophy, and are dedicated to making yoga as spiritual as an experience as it is physical. Go inward, get deep, and move your body.
Hot Yoga by the Sea
There’s something about the combination of sweat, spirituality, and strength that make a hot yoga class feel so darn amazing. Hot Yoga by the Sea is no exception—these heated classes are designed to be approachable and rewarding, making them great for folks intrigued by hot yoga but who haven’t yet dipped their toes into those “warmer waters.” Those short on time might want to consider the 30-minute boot camp, an energetic and challenging class with an easy-to-follow sequence. If Yin or slow-flow is more your style, they’ve got that too. It’s truly a place with something for everyone.
YOGAqua
The ocean is your yoga mat with YOGAqua. From group classes, to private lessons, to teacher training, YOGAqua makes it so that folks of all SUP levels can reap the benefits of this delicious style of yoga. The easygoing and fun attitude make it a great space for SUP newbies, but there’s always an opportunity to challenge yourself and go for that handstand. They may only have locations in Marina Del Rey and Ventura, but YOGAqua travels as well. (You can also catch them at Wanderlust O’ahu!)
