It took me a while to figure out the context in which this could actually happen. Probably Ben Solo fighting with the Resistance, trying to prove and redeem himself and make things right. He'd feel the pressure to do it all by himself until it would crush him completely. Rey would remind him to take a break (unintentional Hamilton reference this time! lol I swear on my heart, body and soul) and keep him grounded.

I am not comparing Ben to Hamilton btw, in case it comes across like I am. My head is just very random sometimes.

If Ben Solo never comes back, then we definitely NEED a good answer as to why he isn't a Force Ghost. The best answer is that Anakin, using his newfound abilities saves Ben Solo from death. With the big catch being that he's seemingly stuck in The World Between Worlds.

Rey learning about the entire history of the Star Wars universe is a must. What better way to show off her previously established scavenger expertise than to have her scrape together all the info she can on her travels across the universe.

You can also have this be a good way of showing how empty she feels after the loss of Ben.

She'd feel his absence like a cutting void. Not unlike a black hole. Swallowing all the light in her soul. She'd feel suffocated by this facade of being a Jedi. When she's always been a lonely scavenger desperately clinging to hope.

Hope isn't something she's felt in what feels like an eternity. What cause is there to truly fight for. What would that even mean for her now?

All roads lead to Rey's tragic downfall. A grief-stricken heart smothered and shattered by war. Darkness fills her hollow heart with righteous anger. Her eyes turned a sickly yellow, her skin paled significantly. Her hair looks like a wild beast's mane, wild and unruly. Longer than it's ever been, reaching down past her shoulders.

She will get back what's hers. Ben Solo.

It's hilarious to me that the articles I've seen about Driver coming back to Star Wars have all been "Adam Driver says he won't return to play Kylo Ren". Like, no shit, Sherlock, Kylo Ren died in TROS when Rey stabbed him with his own lightsaber. Kylo Ren is dead. Now start asking the real question which is, "Is Adam Driver returning to play Ben Solo?".

Update: I feel the need to add to this that while I was aware that Kelly Marie Tran got treated like shit by people, I only recently learned that people were awful to Adam's wife as well (and by recently, I mean I found this out after I originally made this post). Not cool. While I really want him to return as Ben Solo, I completely understand if he has no interest in returning out of a desire to protect his wife and kids.

So. We’re all excited for the new Rey movie.

And Daisy is getting a script soon.

But I’m just gonna say it. I’m putting it out there because maybe, just maybe, if enough of us are vocal, we’ll get some sort of service.

If they give our Jedi queen a new love interest I will fucking riot. I don’t care who it is. I don’t care how they do it. I. Will. Burn.The.Earth.Down.

In a perfect world, Adam Driver would come back and Rey would find some way to revive him or pull him from the World between Worlds or whatever. Despite this, I understand the chances are very slim. (I still have some delulu hope though 🥺)

So I can accept Rey being a devoted Jedi who never gets into a relationship again and pours herself into this life, while still having a deep love for her soulmate who she didn’t get a life with (think Obi Wan)

I can even accept her joining the force as well, finally united with her Dyad.

But for the love of God, if they even have a thrown away draft of Rey falling for anyone in the slightest who isn’t her person declared by all that exists, I will go into hiding just as Skywalker himself did.

REYLO THOUGHTS!

I was imagining what Ben and Rey's wedding would have been like and something occurred to me.

I was thinking about it, and I imagined him proposing to her. But the big thing is, he gets down on one knee. That doesn't seem like a big thing because we are used to that in most of our cultures, but if you understand Ben's history, that is a huge thing.

His whole life he was forced into submission under Luke, Snoke, and whatever dreams other people had for him to be when he grew up. 7 years of being forced to kneel before Snoke.

And he willingly kneeled for her. For Rey. He willingly submitted himself to her. To Rey. To the only person he has ever felt like he could truly be himself around.

And he wasn't afraid. He didn't fear that she'd hit him, or belittle him, or insult him, or leave him. He felt totally safe in her presence, on his knees, asking her to live with him for the rest of their lives.

I almost cried thinking about that.
