Day 2: Sith AU

Sith-raised!Anakin falls head over heals for the pretty clone captain with blond curls. Like he tries so hard to impress Rex when they're in a battle and even harder to be on the field to meet him. Meanwhile Rex is having a crisis because why does Vader have such an interest in him. It's freaking him out to the point where he has to beg Kenobi to send him elsewhere during battles with Vader. It comes to a boiling point though when Vader sneaks onto the Negotiator and suddenly Ahsoka can't find Rex.

12 DAYS UNTIL REXWALKER WEEK!

The countdown is really on now everyone! The month of October has been crazy and packed with fun events, but this is the excited reminder that RexWalker week is less then two weeks away, and we wanted to give some quick reminders as well!

Remember this is a week to celebrate the romantic relationship between Anakin Skywalker and Captain Rex; and though we love to see any and all positive relationships with the two, we are only going to be reblogging and including romantic creations in this event.

There are two prompts per day, and it is your choice which you wish to do (or if you decide to do both!). We just ask you to make sure you include which prompt in your post so we can share correctly; and when posting to the AO3 collection (AO3 tutorial for this here), it is included in the summary and/or title. Note: If posting all prompts in the same work on AO3, we ask you include the prompt(s) as the title of the chapter, to help with creating the Master Summary later.

On of the prompts this year is "Sith AU", and we want to reiterate that RexVader does fulfill this prompt! RexVader is also encouraged for any of the prompts, as it is still an iteration of Anakin Skywalker. So, as long as you remain positive in the characters, we would love to see and share such works!

We do have a cutoff day for accepting posts (November 15th), simply for mods to create the Master Summary in a good time frame before the holidays. BUT we will still be happy to reblog and share RexWalker content here after that date, and will be continuing to do so throughout the year as well.

Welcome! This is the official blog for the annual RexWalker Week. Below are some quick guidelines for how it will run this year, and if you have any questions not already answered in our FAQ tag, feel free to send us an ask!

This is both an art and fic event, and we will happily accept other media such as playlists (15- 20 songs per day) or gif creation (3-5 gifs). So long as it incorporates the prompt for the day and focuses on RexWalker, we are open to discussing how to get your creations to work! When posting be sure to tag this account and use the tag #rexwalkerweek23 so we can be sure to share your work! And when posting on AO3 be sure to submit to the RexWalker Week 2023 collection! This is meant to just be a fun time to celebrate a shared love for the RexWalker ship, and we want to encourage that even if you can only create one or two things we would love to see it! And if you can't create anything we would still love to have you chat with us in the server and share and engage with others and their work shared here.

Now some rules! Feel free to send us an ask for clarification or any question we may have missed answering.

No Anakin Skywalker slander. We are here to support and enjoy the ship, not needlessly pick apart characterizations or Anakin's canon character.

You can have what ships you will in the background so long as they remain BACKGROUND and are PROPERLY TAGGED. Improperly tagged works will not be rebloged/shared or permitted to the AO3 collection.

Be sure to include which prompt(s) you are doing somewhere when you post (Tumblr tags, AO3 chapter name/description, authors note at the start of chapter, etc.), so when we reblog your works, we can tag it for the correct prompt(s); and when making the summary, we can properly sort it! If doing multiple submissions for a single prompt, post them separately if you can do so, in order for us to give each piece its own shoutout/attention, and once again better organize things at the end of the event!

This event will be 18+ and potentially have sensitive and/or adult content. PLEASE TAG APPROPRIATELY.

We will not accept submissions to the collection or the official summary post past the late date (November 15th), BUT if you share on Tumblr and tag us, we will still happily reblog and share throughout the year :)

Welcome to the RexWalker Week official blog! This space is dedicated to celebrating the relationship between Captain Rex and Anakin Skywalker in its many wonderful forms (including RexVader!). Beneath will be links to important posts and some quick guidelines for you to review, which will be updated as we go or as needed. Excited to see what you all create!

2023 Summary Rules and Guidelines FAQ Discord / AO3 Collection

This event will run from November 5th-11th, and is intended as a low stress fun event. You can choose to do the full week, one or two days, or even just hang out and reblog/encourage the creators that do join in. Our official tag to follow is #rexwalkerweek23, and please tag this blog somewhere in your posts so we can be sure to see it and share it both on the day and at the end of the week when we make the complied creations post. Hello everyone!

Had a few similar questions come up about the guidelines for the event, so we figured we'd make an overall post for it addressing them in one go!

To reiterate, this event is about the romantic relationship between Rex/Anakin, which is indicated using the / as stated in AO3 guidelines. This does include Rex/Vader, and RexVader can be used for any prompts, AND can fulfill the “Sith AU" prompt. This does not include poly ships. Anything tagged/deemed poly will not be included for this event. Perhaps check out the Anakin Rarepairs Week if you are hoping to do more ships, and keep an eye out for other events!

And to clarify, romantic in its simplest terms is 'in love'. Equal and returned, from both Rex and Anakin. This disqualifies things like purely FWB, one sided, and platonic relationships, as well as NonCon between Rex/Anakin (there can be past mentions if tagged for correctly, but should also remain background, we are defaulting to AO3's definition of this as well, please scroll to the corresponding tag and info at that link). Again, for this event, the focus should be their love for each other. How you define "in love/a romantic relationship" is of course open and up to you, but it should be readily clear in the intent of your works for this event. The story should be Rex/Anakin, tagged for RexWalker, and not contain any bashing of either character within that relationship. That by submitting to/tagging this event you are clarifying and agreeing that you are intending for them to be in a romantic relationship. Works will be reviewed before being added to the collection/reblogged. Find a tutorial here for adding a work to a collection. This is an event to spread joy and positivity for their romantic relationship. What you wish to create on your own time is always up to you! But within this event, these are the rules and guidelines, and we are all using our best understanding here to achieve this.

On another note, background ships. In the simplest terms, this would be anything not RexWalker, that is kept to a minimum. A mention in the story, a small portion of an image, etc. Background; as in a piece behind the main focus. Something you would tag as “background x/x” on AO3 (for lots of helpful info on this and tagging correctly in general, we are referencing AO3 and more info can be found here). The main focus for this event is Rex/Anakin, and thus nothing should have more "screen time" then them. For this event, the stories should have their perspectives, their thoughts and feelings, be the main subject in your artwork, be always present in your piece, etc. Not focused on any other characters or ships. Keep things centered on Rex/Anakin.

It is a RexWalker Week event, as in Rex/Anakin or Rex/Vader. They are our focus and joy, and that is what we are hoping to share with everyone by running this event :)
