It's not easy to come from a non-muslim family. Always be kind towards your revert friends/spouses/etc because you have no idea of what they go through with their families and how much they struggle in order to keep their family ties but still practice Islam the best way they can.

A verse from the 93rd chapter of the Quran called Ad-Duha (The Morning Hours). It that makes my heart tremble and my eyes fill with tears - of thankfulness and relief. Most of us reverts come from very difficult and painful pasts and a feeling of not belonging anywhere. When we embraced Islam we are guided and this verse pretty much sums up the entire experience of becoming Muslim. It is the most wonderful and amazing experience as well as the most intense period of your life. Without islam I am nothing. I wouldn’t even be here. Without Allah the Most High I am nothing. All my success and all my protection comes from Allah the Most High.
