Following yesterday's theme of all (or most) of my blade types in one shot, on this Wednesday I offer up my reverse tanto collection... Just kidding here are the wharncliffe blades I have. It is funny how some blades are classified by either the shape of the edge; the shape of the tip; or even the shape of the spine. I see Wharncliffe's as being a straight edge that ends in a point who's spine meets via a nice clean sweeping slope to that tip. Of course that classification isn't always what Wharncliffes are considered. There are some that I would classify closer to a reverse Tonto or even the sheepsfoot. for the most part I understand there's a move towards modernizing some of the traditional blade shapes and I am perfectly okay with that. I don't think it detracts from those designs it just serves to enrich the available styles and even uses of the knives we have access to. What are your thoughts on Wharncliffe blades?
