I like a lot of different flavors but, to keep it simple, I'll try to match my recommendations to the theme I'm cultivating on this blog so far.

First of all, I have to mention skyl_tales, they wrote some of the absolute Obikin classics and I love their work, it's very dear to me. If you haven't read anything from them yet, I strongly recommend taking a look at their works and going for anything that captures your attention!

Alright, now my conscience is clear and we can move on:

One of my more recent obsessions. Basically, padawan Obi-Wan gets captured by Sith Anakin and then groomed to the Dark Side. What I enjoy about this one is how, even despite the unfavorable cards that Obi-Wan has been dealt, he cleverly chases down his goals... but not without twisting himself in the pursuit as well. He is an active actor in this play and ultimately it is not Anakin who Obi-Wan plays against. And by recommending this I'm recommending the whole series :).

Warm skin, slack face, soft snores. And then—then—more.

A guilty pleasure of mine. And probably a very hard pill to swallow, so careful there. In this one, Vader goes back in time, kidnaps Jedi initiate Obi-Wan, and makes him his apprentice. Yes, it's very dark, a psychological horror, but this author writes with such skill and poetry that I trusted they could make me enjoy reading stuff I'd normally avoid... And I was right. The beauty in the abominable. That's why I love this author, the things they write are so refreshingly daring and so deeply fucked up on so many levels, but served in a way that makes me swallow it all up without question. (oh, I should probably mention that as of now this fic is unfinished, I seldomly pick up unfinished works, but with this one, I have no regrets :))

This is a role reversal omegaverse AU. Master Skywalker has been captured by the Separatists, and behind the Council's back, his omega Padawan sets out to save the master in distress. It is debatable if the master in question needs the saving -noises of massacre in the background- (he did need the saving, in my opinion :)). What I really love about this fic are the horror vibes of little Padawan getting chased down the hallways of the enemy base full of dead bodies, and an unknown monster breathing down his neck, but the only thing on his mind is how to find his master and rescue him. Also, I enjoyed the final twist and how the story unfolded in the end. Satisfying. If omegaverse is your thing I definitely recommend this one.

Out of all the recommendations, I consider this to be the tame one. If all of the above made you hesitant to try, this is the one to go with. The summary: Vader keeps capturing Obi-Wan during the Wars. Obi-Wan keeps escaping. It's kind of a thing. I'm recommending this one for the banter. Some of it is just next level. Very amusing to read. Chef's kiss.

I'm now really attached to that idea that Durge is an intentional mockery of whatever race they seem to be as a middle finger from Bhaal to whatever pantheon has clearly pissed him off before he made them, in the same style that his first children Thorax and Shantu were mockeries of the Earthmother's children. Where hers were magical animals like unicorns, his were violent mix-n-match predatory abominations.

Which leaves the question of what traits demihuman Durges would be subverting and mocking.

Gnome Durge actually covers it in-game:

*Do you feel jolly? Aren't you meant to feel jolly? You don't make a very good gnome.*

Gnomes: joie de vivre, creative, communal.

They can actually overlap with dwarves, who are instinctually drawn to the beauty and skill of artistry and engineering. The corrruption/reversal of that would be Durge being driven to crush and destroy such things that the gnomes and dwarves hold to their hearts. Where a dwarf is raised to study the world around them with an eye to improving it, dwarf Durge would have that little voice in their head that points out nothing but flaws, and the way things can be made worse.

Elven and half-elven Durges are probably obligate carnivores - while they can and do eat it, elves don't really do meat, their natural diet is mostly plant matter with fish. The weird guy with the predatory vibe who's too into hunting and loves the taste of animal flesh is going to be very unsettling. I also like to imagine they do have the ability to commune, but the darkness in them and the fact that they're not a true child of Corellon makes them so fucking wrong to an elf that sharing their spirit is borderline traumatic. Also they're inevitably going to get branded hahlorkh - an indiscriminately violent brute who behaves in a completely un-elven fashion.

Half-orcs... lore on orcs is thin on the ground, but I have seen something about how, due to very high orcish tempers, amongst their own settlements it's imperative to be polite, insightful and calm in order to keep orcish clans functioning without self-destruction. Barbarian hordes sweeping into civilisation are usually the new generation of adolescents, who are being sent out to get the worst of it out of their system before they settle in. Durge would never be getting it out of their system. On the bright side, orcs and half-orcs are predominantly carnivorous, so Durge's cannibalism habits might fly under the radar even if they're a little frowned upon.

Hin... hmm. I don't know. Halflings are very clan and family based, they're cheerful, they share the joie de vivre of gnomes. They like money, and they like spending it on parties and gifts. Durge kind of tore their family apart at age 10 or something, and actively despises the world and the notion of being alive, which shows where that'd go.

Tiefling durge has significantly too much lower plane heritage to actually qualify for the word, but it's probably just that they look like one. Tieflings don't really have their own culture to fail to meet, they belong to human cultures. Which Durge can't fit in with on account of looking like a devilspawn. Shame they tend to kill real tieflings in their sleep, they might've fit in.

Dragonborn are clan based with a whole thing about comporting yourself with honour and competing to improve yourself. Durge is the antichrist, has no clan or ancestors, and uh... yeah. Self improvement and doing right by your family elders just translates to murder time really. Bhaal just wanted something big and scary with teeth and claws here.

Something which I'm really suprised about is the fact that nobody has come up with a story for Warriors that's basically the princess locked in a tower guarded by a dragon trope.

Like, the Chain in general tend to fit fairytale princess stories. Wild and Sky are quite literally Sleeping Beauty, Wind is basically The Little Mermaid but reversed and Hyrule and Time are very much Snow White in a different font and people acknowledge that but I've never seen anybody put Warriors in the classic fair maiden formula which genuinely suprises me because he's literally just that specific trope if the princess had a sword.

Imagine a story where somebody, say Artemis if we're going for the most basic play on this trope slays a dragon (WE HAVE A DRAGON! VOLGA!) and then came into the tower being like "hey yo. What's up? I heard a certain fair hero needed rescuing?"

I think this might just be my love of Links with classic fairytale tropes like the poisoned apple or sleeping curse talking but COME ON! You can't tell me that Warriors doesn't give you that vibe because this trope is basically an extremely toned down Helen of Troy story without the Trojan War 😭😭

Oh man.. I just keep finding ways to make Warriors suffer. First it was Sky and now Warriors has joined.

The little parallels between them and classic fairytales are really cool! I haven’t really ever thought about the fairytale aspects of it too much, but Warriors is definitely this world’s equivalent of Helen of Troy, which is an essay post I will have to write once I have the time to sit down and get really into it.

The mental image of Warriors as a damsel in distress up in some tower guarded by a dragon is an absolutely beautiful one. I imagine he’d be more like Fiona from Shrek where when the help finally comes he’s like “Excuse me?? You’re doing it wrong! Ugh! You’re supposed to be my one true love!!! 🥺🥺🥺”, because as traumatized as I write him, he really is a bit of a drama queen and I adore him for it.

(You’ve awakened in me an urge to write something of a crack shrek au after I finish my big hero 6 au, and I’m sitting here cackling at the possibilities I’ve just been awoken to see)

By pure chance, I discovered @castleaudios some time after basically binging through Willothewispaudio's Ashwood Grove series and I love that Glenwood gives me basically the same vibes.

So now it's time to write about Castle's characters that are my personal favourite. So far I'm very hooked with Genevieve, Beth, Miss Liza, Abby and Rose, and Claire's storylines (I also adore Chloe but I'm not sure if her storyline is over or if she's basically just out of the picture for a bit.)

Disclaimer: These are just personal headcanons that I came up with, of course Castle's word takes precedence over mine should there be any contradicting statements in any of my current or future posts.

[Flashback Episode] Beautiful grabbing her tail sent her into a moment of frenzy because when shifted, she has a specific tickle spot just where her tail meets her spine that makes her go crazy.

Beautiful finds out about this weak spot one time after Beth teasingly pins them down beneath her by sitting on them in her shifted form.

The Seer tries to wiggle their way out, but to no success and instead tried desperately looking for any weak spots to exploit.

Accidentally scratched at the spot and Beth went limp before getting a hold of herself, proceeding to jump off of Beautiful as soon as she got her canine impulses back under control.

[Sick Seer Episode] Stays awake the whole night watching over Beautiful after successfully putting the Seer to sleep.

On a normal day Beth normally would fall right into sleep after Beautiful falls asleep, but whenever her mate is sick she just can't find it in herself to doze off-

Irrational "What-ifs" always going through her mind in times like these.

Only manages to squeeze in a few minutes of shut-eye just after Beautiful wakes up the next day under the guise of "Five more minutes."

[Tailoring Clothes Episode] Beth randomly gifts Beautiful a personalized clothing item after she gets their measurements the first time that the Seer visits the shop.

Crocheting is not her strongest suite, but she did her best to make a hooded poncho for Beautiful on their birthday. With the color palette consisting of the Seer's favorite colors.

Likes to make the clothes she sews for Beautiful be in the Seer's favorite colors.

Always manages to find inconspicuous spots to sew pockets in the said clothes.

On one April Fool's Day, she gifted Beautiful a set of underwear made with lace fabrics just because she was curious about what reaction the Seer would have after unboxing the gift.

[Helping You Sleep Episode] Beautiful found out the hard way that Beth has a weird quirk of balling up in her sleep so the blanket covers her whole body.

Beautiful is abruplty woken up from a dreamless sleep by the feeling of being sweaty.

They immediately throw the blanket off of them and Beth wakes up groggy, grumpy, and disoriented. "You fucked up my cocoon.."

Immediately fell back asleep after those words, without enveloping herself in the blanket.

Woke up feeling weird, and kept feeling weird throughout the day without being able to explain why, because she doesn't remember her blanket cocoon being rudely thrown open by Beautiful.

Beautiful never told her that they accidentally disrupted the cocoon ritual by instinct....

[Reverse Comfort Episode] Beth found that she calms down a lot quicker when Beautiful gently runs a hand through her hair while simultaneously scratching at her scalp with a light pressure.

Prefers to lay her head on Beautiful's lap instead of cuddling when she needs to be calmed down, or reassured.

Sometimes when she's having those days where she's unable to pinpoint what she's upset with, she'll ask Beautiful to read to her.

Beth never stops being shy about asking them to read to her.

Beth may not have a sweet tooth, but she has a thing for savory foods like cinnamon buns, or a chicken burger with just a bit of kick.

Hey Bitches ❤️ So for this post, I will be discussing the lore within my page and the stories i’ve written so far that are within TYFD universe, I’m doing this like those TV show or book plot breakdowns (i.e Mike’s Mic PLL video and caricanread’s acotar breakdown) 

•quick tw: small mentions of abuse, murder & light gore.

•note: This whole page is a dark romance with a little bit of horror movie vibes. More lore will be added to this post as more fics/minis are written.

So, this all begins with a beautiful young woman who runs her own sex toy company and her employees are seven men (NCT 127 members) with Mark Lee being her assistant and right hand man. Mark was introduced in A Deal With The Devil, there was a day where he took her to a farmer's market that he goes to all the time because of the fresh watermelon (🤡)

First off, this woman is a glamorous ass bitch. She's a CEO! She always has a fierce outfit on, hair looking good, nails done and a banging body to match.

If things don't go her way then it's the motherfucking highway and she gets what she wants whenever she wants it.

"I know how powerful I am. I'm smart and beautiful! Everyone either loves or hates me, men want me and bitches fear me. I know what I want and I always get what I want"

The man running the market knows Mark very well and he introduces her to him. While talking to the owner, she sees a young boy working in the field behind the counter, and she asks who he is and the owner introduces him to the duo and his name is Taeyong. The woman became infatuated with him in a heartbeat, the way he could barely stare at her because of how pretty she was, his eyes glued to the ground which made her smile, she just thought that he was the cutest thing to ever exist, but she noticed something was off.

"I could care less about the man Mark was talking to, I was too focused on the boy beside him. I just couldn't stop looking, he was perfect in every way possible. A strangely beautiful face, cute rosy cheeks and these massive chocolate eyes that made him look so sweet, like an actual living doll. The twisted bitch in my brain was just shouting at me to take and put him in a dollhouse. I just had to have him".

She decided to go back a few days later, hopping in her black g-wagon and driving to the market during a storm. She gets to the market and sees a light inside a shack, yelling coming from the inside. The voice of the owner berating Taeyong along with the sound of slapping and punching, her eyes spot him on the floor covering himself for protection from the blows with bruises and blood on him.

"CAN'T YOU DO ANYTHING RIGHT? I SHOULD JUST THROW YOUR LITTLE ASS ON THE STREET SO YOU CAN SLEEP IN THE RAIN"

While his back was turned, the woman grabbed a nearby shovel and with a loud ass BANG the man fell to the floor, a bloody gash appearing on the back of his head as he fell unconscious. Blood covered her face as she watched Taeyong look at her with pure terror & a mix of relief.

"Come with me...WE NEED TO GO!"

He took her hand as the both of them ran to the car while getting soaked in the rain, rushing him into the front seat as she threw the shovel in the trunk before speeding off into the night. She took Taeyong in, letting him stay inside her massive home, and baby she lives in a nice ass mansion (see post about the home she lives in) She cleaned him up, and gave him a new life. Bought him new clothes and many other nice things, basically showering him with gifts and love since he's never had anything like that before, she told him that she would take care of everything. He even offered to cook and clean for her as a thank you.

(side note: her housekeeper had stopped showing up ever since she moved into her new mansion so it was a win-win situation, so Taeyong became a housewife of some sort)

"Don't ever think you're going back to that old life, you're gonna be staying with me for a very long time"

Weeks pass on and she gets a call from Zhong Chenle and he personally wanted to hire her to be Taeyong’s manager after firing the current ones for being sketchy ever since he took over SM Entertainment. The woman was unaware that Taeyong was a kpop idol and thought he just worked at a little market, Chenle tells her that he’s been trying to get Taeyong to leave that market so he can focus on his career.

“Why didn’t you tell me that you were an idol? I just got a call from the CEO about being your new manager” 

"Y..you’re my new manager?  

"Apparently I am! Why didn’t you tell me about any of this?"

"Because I thought you were gonna look at me differently. Are you gonna kick me out?"

"Honey, I would never kick you out, I just need you to be honest with me, okay?"

The woman hired a good friend of hers named Norilyn to be her assistant to help her with this managing gig, the woman made sure everything ran smoothly during photo-shoots or events that he would attend, being one of his biggest supporters and being there for him if he was anxious or scared.

•She was giving very much Kris Jenner mom-ager "You're doing amazing sweetie" vibes. And here's a cute fun fact: the woman speaks korean very fluently, and this shocks the fuck outta Taeyong. She also helps him improve with his english speaking (cute)

"You're so kind, I appreciate you so much for being there for me!"

“Of course, angel cake! That’s what I'm here for. I'll always be there for you"

One thing that we learn about the woman is that she's unhinged. Back then, she was a serial killer who specifically targeted mysogynistic men who looked down on women. While working her way in life, she faced many white men who were just disgusting human beings and let's just say...they never made it back home at night to their loving families.

She actually calmed down with the murders for several years after she started her company but unfortunately this managing job is really bringing out the murderous bitch in her (yikes.)

The woman ended up developing an obsession with Taeyong and became very possessive over him as years passed on. She started calling him "little rose" as a nickname. Her eyes were on him 24/7 and watched every move he made, becoming deadly if anyone approached her precious rose that wasn't her.

"I'll kill anyone who even dares to touch him"

Ever since she murdered the man that was abusing him, something in her just snapped.

(this where the murdering starts back up again)

She has two secret rooms, a weapon room and her basement where she brings her victims teach them a lesson with the help of her good friend Qian Kun who has a team of skilled assassins at his side.

“Now, tell me what we learned today?”

“N..not to speak a..about Taeyong”

“Or what?”

“Y..you’ll cut my dick off”

“Good! Because if I hear you say another word about my rose again, i’ll cut that shit off and let you bleed out on my floor"

The hallway that leads to her gun room and the basement ⬇️

Ms. Thing definitely got something going on upstairs (if you catch my drift) we already know that tyongfs are insane, but this chick is literally 10x worse! She will get her hands dirty if something happened to Taeyong and would probably murder everyone in a fit of rage tbh. (One of these days he'll find her coated in blood) she can also fight too! She's not scared to hit a bitch when it comes to Taeyong either lol.

The murder at the farmer's market made it on the news but the killer was never found so the case went cold, and that's exactly what the woman wanted. The shovel that was coated in blood was in her rose garden and was completely cleaned of fingerprints. She obviously wasn't gonna tell anyone about this except for right hand woman Mason who helps her with murders, and she wasn't gonna tell Taeyong about it because she didn't wanna scare him to death, so she decided to keep quiet about it.

Now let’s talk about Taeyong for a minute:

I wanted to come back to him to point out a few things. Besides the fact that he’s an idol, he is very naive and believes everything that is told to him (alarming btw) so the woman takes advantage of this so she can take care of "personal business" like she'll literally be slaughtering someone like cattle in her basement and he wouldn't even know. Gotta hand it to her, she makes sure that her victims are killed quietly so he won't hear anything.

(We still love him though 💕💕🌹🌹)

Still on the topic of Taeyong, he is not only her obsession, he was also her little fuck-toy. We find out that he's into being dominated but specifically by a woman, he believes that he should be submissive and obedient while a woman works and makes the money for the household. The both of them made an agreement about a dom/sub relationship behind closed doors, making her his manager and goddess. He would be kneeling at her feet while she sits at her throne, his lips spilling praises while kissing her high heels after rewarding or punishing him, just being grateful for his beautiful goddess.

"What do you say while on the floor worshiping my feet, pet?" 

"Thank you, goddess!" 

"Are you gonna be a good boy for me, little rose?"

"Y..yes, goddess" 

"That's a good pet! I'm gonna have so much fun with you"

The two became very close over the years while living together, Taeyong quickly falling in love with her since he's never seen or been with a woman like her. Seeing how confident, powerful and beautiful she was (he really did see her as goddess that was sent to him by the gods themselves) he didn't really notice how much of a ✨️possessive queen✨️ she is buuuutttt he was living his best life in a luxurious mansion with a beautiful psychopath.

Chokehold - by far the most lore-oriented song I've heard so far?? lyrically this is just the band's mission statement and it's SO good

The Summoning - THE iconic song :P I had this thought while vibing to it again, the title is SO apt because this is the song that essentially summoned LEGIONS of fans 8D

Granite - this song has me ALL kinds of fucked up?? this was the point where specific lyrics started to have me SCREAMING, like, "you gave me nothing whatsoever but a reason to leave" HELLO??? not to mention "we'd rather be six feet under than be lonely" THAT HITS

Aqua Regia - MMMM THE VIBES THEY ARE IMMACULATE I believe the title translates to something along the lines of "ocean queen" but don't quote me on that XD I genuinely cannot cite just one lyric that makes me feral IT'S THE WHOLE SONG

Manhwa~ The Emperor reverses time

Ok y'all need to get heads up about the FL of this manhwa. Because, She. Will. Frustrate. You.

This is basically a regression story, but opposite gender. Usually the FL is the one who regresses n mostly ends up leaving her lover or husband who mistreated her. Here however, the Emperor after the death of the Empress (ofcourse!) realises both the Empress's love for him and his own feelings for her. And the like the FLs who always get to go back in time as a blessing or apology from God, our ML has to pay a price for the time trip. But he doesn't mind. He vowed to make her the happiest in second chance he got. Mind you, he goes out of his way to do it.

Well, okay. You might say he mistreated her, he deserves it. Agreed. Even up till the 69th chapter, he is ashamed of his past self and is haunted by the then him. He seems to have mental disorders and borderline anxiety issues. He sleeps with a sword under his bed. Oh well.

Now our darling FL. Till the age of 7 or 8 Elizabeth was abused my her parents who tried to make her into a doll fit to become the Empress. She was whipped, forced to wear such tight corsets, that even adult women in the manhwa got horrified upon hearing. The ML, Leon gets her out of the hellhole along with the help of his loving parents. Who proceed to love the heck out of her. She was showered with love, in the palace of the Emperor than in the Duchy palace she lived. She deserved the happiness the Prince (ML), his mother, and his father gave her. At some point she started liking the prince and also felt a bit jealous of the fact that the little prince had what she could never have, namely parents and their vast love. She kind of avoids him until he fesses up.

Ok...

Fast forward to them in their teens, now her issue is that she loves him. She is okay with saying her feelings out for him, but afraid of getting rejected so kind of keeps it to herself. Typical red flag habit in manhwa characters. Ik it's for the plot, but I'm kinda done with this one trope. Anyway she confesses, and the ML is scared. Like obviously, duh. He literally reversed time just so she could be happy. What was the guarantee that he could keep her happy, of he couldn't in last timeline? Could he even keep her happy? Would he take away her beautiful smile? While the ML was confused about all this, with devastated expression on his face, the FL, Lizzie was quick to misunderstand him and also quick to think of cancelling their engagement. Leaving the ML, even more vexed if possible. Great move, honey. She mentally corners him, honestly, until again he confesses about his feelings. Twice. Not to mention he was taking care of an age old contract that appeared out of nowhere, which held a lot of sus stuff about ancient marriages that had been happening between the ML & FL's family. Power politics. Add an unknown brother of the FL with not so good intentions and his parents' life almost in danger to the mix, and voila! i say the ML has pretty much suffered whatever the FL had in her past life.

Does it end there?

Hell nah!

She wants to know everything he keeps a secret from her. Wanted to know about the contract, and although it was sort of a test that the Father Emperor gave to the prince to check whether he would be a good Emperor, the FL is the one who solves it, without even telling the ML. um... 😶

Another woman appears. This lady is also good friends with the Empress. But. But, her family is rebelling and to protect her best friend from a different but less popular family, she takes it upon herself to act like double agent for the prince and her father. Like Im still tryna figure out this woman. But that's not the issue.

Our wonderful FL, Lizzie, is jealous. But she won't admit it. Nope. Instead, she just assumes. And misunderstands. Who's surprised again? ik I'm not.

Like gahhhhhh!

She proceeds to think of cancelling the whole damn marriage this time. The vibes i got of her character were that, she herself is unsure whether she seriously loves Leon, but just assumes and refuses to change the beliefs and assumptions that she has about Leonhart.

Frustrating, i tell you.

And since he's taken an oath to make her happy, as you can guess, every time she threatens him with the relationship card and the happiness card, he will withdraw.

Y'all if this was villainess, we'd be calling her something entirely different, alright?! Like this woman really bottles up stuff, instead of talking it out. She will talk with the ML's mother but nop openly, maybe more.

With ML? yeah right.

The way I see it (I haven't completed it. i reached chapter 69, n just had to vent) he is quite close to being carted off to the psych ward.

My problem with the FL's character isn't even the wishy washy dainty girl attitude, it's the way she's manipulating the ML without even realising it. And she knows at this point, that all she needs to do for him to react is, give a fake smile (ML has trauma from her fake smile from the original life when he remembers it), look miserable, and then try to look like she's holding it together, and finally do the age old trick of squeezing out some tears.

Really. The FL of this one puts me off so much. She is such a sweet girl, when she wants to be.

ANYWHO off the top of my head, I would thoroughly enjoy being an elf in middle earth or maybe a fairy in one of the fairytopia movies. really any place with magic would be wonderful and I think like I’d fit in there.

I’d want a place that’s really beautiful and culturally vibrant, but not necessarily exclusively peaceful. I’m trained to fight with a small sword, rapier and dagger, and hand to hand combat so I feel like I could somewhat hold my own in a scrape. I used to dabble in archery too.

I feel like aesthetics of both places fit my vibe. I mean I sleep with a dagger that’s a replication of a king’s coronation sword on my bedside table and have a bunch of leather bound books with one of them being a secret box and a fake skull above my bed on a shelf. yet at the same time my room is also filled with flowers and fairy lights and is essentially all warm pinks.

so I guess TLDR: I’d wanna reside within a fantasy world where women identifying characters get to throw down, while still remaining kind and feminine if that’s important to them!!!

omg encephalitis ;____; it’s really dangerous regardless of what kind lol and i actually learned a lot about encephalitis during my pediatrics course last year bc children get sick all the time yeah? with like ear infections and head colds a lot and the reason why it’s so dangerous is bc the brain is ofc enclosed in your skull so like natural laws of physics when your brain expands and is inflames (i’m sure u know this but anything ending in -itis means inflammation of some sort) the soft tissue has no where to go so your brain ends up pushing against your skull ultimately causing possible future ischemia and permanent brain damage ;____; but this is why it’s so important to know signs !!!! increased cranial pressure fever and EXTREME lethargy !!!!!! and i looked up how they usually treat this type of encephalitis and it says antiparkinson drugs which is really interesting to me but encephalitis lethargica can also cause spastic movments of the limbs so this all makes sense ;____; ANYWAYS sorry this was kind of just a talk with myself lol so if TLDR: don’t be nervous about getting it from dirt LOL you won’t get it i promise !!!!!!!! <3 

omg yes all nighters are the absolute worst !!!! i never actually pulled an all nighter all the way believe it or not !!! not even during finals week ;____; my brain stops working at midnight i cannot and will not work myself to death LOL :’) and maybe ppl don’t think that’s very ‘nursing student’ of me but i never pull all nighters ;_____; and maybe that’s what’s the difference between me being a B student instead of an A student but i would much rather not feel like garbage the next day to take an exam than study as much during the day as i can and at least feel READY for the exam the next day ,,,,,,, does that make sense?? lol but i have managed to get a little more sleep this summer but i have this problem where i try to get 7 hours of sleep but i keep on waking up feeling like i haven’t slept at all ;____; also SDFKLJ the jobs i did in high school were the worst lol like my first job was at panera bread (idk if they have that around u but it’s this made to order resturant that used to be good and has ‘healthy’ foods but no one wants to admit it’s gone down the drain) and i was SO excited to work there bc one thing they do nicely there is make their own baked goods so i always wanted to work the bakery but i ended up at the cashier and no one taught me how to do it and i was so bad at it i hated going to work ;____; i quit after like a month bc no one cared about me i felt :((( and then after that i worked at my friend’s parent’s resturant as a hostess and that was nice but i only worked on fridays and i didn’t make that much money ;____; and THEN my last job in high school my mom wanted me to work in her office so i worked with the sales department i think ? i was too young to understand lol but basically if a vendor had a complain about how a product was received they would send a complaint and i would have to fill out a form and send to the head of the department or SOMETHING along those lines !! i made $12 an hour so i wasn’t complaining hehe 

and yes ;____; my family vacations were always fun !!!!!!!!!! i really loved the tradition we had every year <3 we would go to the east coast actually (virginia beach) and it’s a hot spot for a lot of ppl !!!!! there are these real estates along the whole coast where everyone basically rents houses so we would all chip in to rent a big house for the week so it wasn’t too expensive (we have a lot of family members lol) and we would just spend our time there <3 san diego is sooo far from me LOL i live across the states from it (i live in the midwest) so i’ve ever only been there once !!!! i understand not having a lot of ‘ocean beaches’ just like u !!!!! however my state is surrounded by 5 massive lakes and i mean MASSIVE (you could consider them oceans since u can’t see across from them and they can produce like 100 ft waves lol we have freighters that ship materials from them) ,,,,,,,,, i might have given away where i am from ;) 

also YES i did a sport all my life up until this year bc my uni scholarship has ended and my career is officially over :’) don’t laugh lol but i bowl !!!!!!!! i know it sounds silly but if you could only see what the collegiate atmosphere is like ,,,,,,, it’s really special :’) i’ve had professional coaching ever sine like the 4th grade and worked my way up to receiving a scholarship so anything that helps me out paying for college is nice hehe ,,,,,,, i have some clips of me bowling on my instagram but if anything i would want to show u privately as opposed to being so public LOL ;____; BUT YEAH that story about my mom :((( when she told me when i was older i really felt so sorry ,,,,,, parents go through it all don’t they?

about the anxiety thing !!!!!!!! honestly for me it’s very burdensome ;___; i worry about it a lot and i know ppl have it much worse than i do but i fear it’s something that will get in the way of reaching my full potential if that makes sense? and like i said i never used to be this way ,,,,,,, it’s definitely bc of nursing school and i’ve had some things happen to me that probably have given me some emotional trauma but i really hope i am able to conquer these feelings in my future somehow :( and it’s definitely added pressure knowing im only 1 of 2 ppl in my entire family who is in the medical field (like i said my cousin is in med school but it’s sooo different , she never had to finish her career in the short amount of time i have HELL this girl won’t even be able to do half the procedures that  do) so her experience is totally different than mine, she can’t relate to me. she also hates nurses lol so ,,,,,,,,,,,,, :/ it’s just a lot to think about i know u must be so annoyed with me saying all of these things :( but i just want everything to work out ; like this whole summer my mom and i have been talking about where i should live after i graduate bc with nursing you can really live anywhere but we were on the topic of DC and i’ve never really thought about living there just bc of the political climate of it all might stress me out lol but one of my close friends was interning there this summer and she was offered a job already and i told her that there was a children’s hospital in DC that’s really good and i was like hey . IF i can actually land a job in the NICU out there do u think u would want to live with me ?? AND IDK i just want everything to work out i really do :( and a couple days ago i asked one of my professors if i could do my preceptorship in the NICU bc she works at a hospital that i was at last semester and if she knew anyone who would be willing to preceptor me and ,,,,,,,, i think that would help me SO much when i graduate with some NICU experience ,,,,,,,,, idk babe ;____; i really appreciate you wanting to talk to your friends to help me out hun :(

but anyways on a lighter subject lol YEAH i got the jo malone perfume ;____; i’ve never been in the actual store before bc in the past they just had their little stand alone counter in our department store bUT GOING IN THERE WAS SO LOVELY and !!!!!!!!! im so obsessed with my scent i picked out !!!!!!!!!! honestly i’ve never heard of bluebells before lol but gosh evey time i put it on its instant serotonin boost ;____; i vibe with it every day !!!!!! i don’t put it on my pillows or anything bc i have an essential oil diffuser in my room lol but it’s totally my jam ......maybe my signature scent ?? i love it so much !!!!! and i think this scent lasts the longest on me but i always can’t really smell it anymore after like 5 hours i would say LOL but that’s just my nose getting used to it ;____; i wish i could smell it on me forever :((((

These are all so good! I just have to add a few of my personal picks.

First off, I definitely have to start with “Liar” by The Arcadian Wild which is used for both @caltracat ‘s animatic and @futureshieldmaiden ’s animatic (they’re amazing, seriously go check them out). Honestly, I could just write down all the lyrics, this song fits Essek so well. “I need you to see through my act / To tell me I’m wrong, to take off the mask / Or else I’ll be left in the lie / I’ll deceive my way straight to demise”. Tell me this isn’t about Essek’s relationship with the Nein. And then “My life’s become this grand game of deception / My mind’s ignored all my heart’s good intentions”. Just. This whole song. Go listen to it!

“Dear Wormwood” by The Oh Hellos is just beautiful. I feel like it’s about Essek’s journey from bright, curious child to the cold, closed off Shadowhand, frustrated by the Dynasty’s constraints, and then meeting the Nein, coming to terms with who he’s become and being shown he can leave the world better than he found it “I know who I am now / I know who I want to be / I want to be more than / This devil inside of me”.

A shoutout goes to “Not weeks, not years” by @brakken which is so amazing I could scream! Just. The art, the way it sounds like the music is being reversed. This is a literal masterpiece! If time was a tangible concept, it would take shape of this instrumental. This is THE Essek theme and I take no criticism.

“MAD IQs” by I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME is just a vibe. Essek has a hunger for knowledge. He is a dunamancy prodigy, burning bright and fast, driven by his thirst for discovery “Oh, you will never, ever stop me / 'Cause I'm never gonna quit / Gonna get just what I want / And I am gonna get it quick”. He will get results no matter the consequences.

“Nine” by Sleeping At Last is far more poignant and fits well with Essek already on his journey to healing “Choked up, I realize / I've been less than half myself / For more than half my life” Essek has been wearing a mask for so much of his life, slowly losing himself to the expectations of other people and his own. “So show me what to do / To restart this heart of mine / How do I forgive myself / For losing so much time?”. Essek is not a good man, but with the Mighty Nein at his side he could be.

Okay, just the general vibe of this song is that of a person who's been through a bit and has now found a love so beautiful it's helping them heal and I feel like that ties in so well with Cherry and Joe's entire arc. I hear this song in Cherry's POV when Joe's affection is starting to restore his faith in love and life after Adam's done fucked it all up. Or even when his anxiety gets really fucking bad or whatever. It's just got big comfort vibes and I am a total whore for Cherry acknowledging and appreciating everything that Joe does for him.

Okay I think this song fits Cherry very well, especially when he is still trying to understand his dynamic with Joe. My personal headcanon is that Cherry is prone to bouts of self-hatred because of his anxiety and consequently, doesn't always consider himself deserving of Joe's love, and so, he tends to dislike it at times when Joe seems to understand him better than others and anticipate his needs so well, and I feel like this song depicts that beautifully.

I keep thinking of shy, unsure junior high school Kaoru and Kojiro suddenly becoming blushing, stuttering messes around each other for a period of time as they both hit the realisation that they'd very much like to be kissing each other and it's very much not a Friend™ thing.

It happens after Joe has freshly realised that he is bi after all and Kaoru is exactly what he needs. Again, verse one reminds me of Joe, verse two of Cherry. They are down under respectively.

Another Kojiro song. This one reflects his inner struggle as he feels torn between wanting to comfort and protect Cherry after Adam, and the fact that he is hopelessly in love with Cherry who inadvertently keeps hurting him with how he is lost in the huge web of feelings he can't parse through, not completely blind to how much Kojiro loves him but not fully realising it either. This song reminds me of a confused and helpless Kojiro. Loving Kaoru is such an integral part of him that it makes him, him and it is his constant in the rapidly changing world around him as he stands on the brink of adulthood. He is very nearly ready to beg for mercy and yet knows he, himself is saved by the love he has for Kaoru.
